Pros At first I thought, what a complex program for a beginning small business. But now I am so grateful that we went with MarKov. The program takes care of inventory and it gives us traceability in case needed for our specialty food products. It even gives me a report for money spent on inventory. It also provides records for every batch executed. What this program does not do is beyond me. I am thankful to \[sensitive content hidden\] for her patience in our training and I’m relieved that she can always help when needed. Cons The only one con I can think of is, when I need to print up information from reports is that I have to go through excel. I’m not trained in excel so it can be frustrating to go through it. I have never had a system that came as close to providing exactly what they promised. We have had no significant "gotchas," where we thought we were going to be able to do something only to find out that we didn't quite understand the caveats in the sales pitch. Mar-Kov has been able to give us everything we thought we were going to be getting. And their support team has been very responsive in helping when we have issues with execution, whether that is because we are not using the system correctly or there are minor bugs to work through. Pros We have had a great experience with Mar-Kov Computer Systems so far. The product is customized to our specific business needs and meets all of the regulatory requirements to help us keep detailed, lot specific records of the products we make. All the aspects of batch execution in an FDA regulated atmosphere are thought of. The Mar-Kov support team is dedicated to helping us understand how to best use the system. Cons Unfortunately, any comprehensive batch manufacturing system is going to require a lot of data to get up and going. We were starting from a process where almost everything was kept on paper, so there was a bit of work to get up and going. I can't imagine that any other system would have been any easier, and Mar-Kov's implementation strategy focused on getting the most important tasks done first so that we could get through all of the data entry as efficiently as possible. With Mar-Kov platform, the opportunity of a n error is very minimum or almost impossible. The system is designed to prevent an error instead of correcting it.Extra comment I would like to add regarding an excellent traceability system which serves SDB Products as the best tool when conducting annual Mock Recalls. All our external auditors (ISO and customer's) give a high rating in reviewing our Mock Recall records. I am sure our auditors are spreading through their clients the high level of Mar-Kov system for many manufacturing companies as a recommendation for improvement when they identify gaps in their current systems.Mar-Kov is one of the best ERP systems I have worked with in Europe and US. Cons When I occasionally verify the formula and need to export to an Excell, it also gives me prices and other unnecessary information that I have to manually delete in order to print out for physical verification process. We currently have our daily activity exported into Quick Books Online with ease via a nightly automatic export. We are able to manage maintenance schedules on rooms, machinery and equipment. The planning and entry of batching orders and the purchasing of raw materials and packaging materials is easy and something we do quarterly. CMS makes this easy because we can't remember everything, but this software does. It holds all of our data from when we began using it in 2014. It is easy to update individual items to make it work as accurately as it needs to. Pros My favorite feature is the Plan Tracing Set Viewer (PTSV) because I manage the planning of Inventory from forecasting the sales of Finished Goods to purchasing Raw Materials and Packaging Materials to manufacture them. The PTSV shows me when we will have an issue and on what date. All of the data entered to get this accurate information is all setup by me including lead times, testing lead times, minimum stock levels, ect. Cons We have a very unique product and style of manufacturing which makes it difficult at times for support to resolve our issues quickly. Having one assigned Account Manager has helped us in the past and I am confident it will continue to help us along in the future. We also have data in CMS from 2014 so the set viewers can become a little bogged down over time with so much data.
