Pros La quantità di dettagli configurabili, davvero elevata: a differenza di altri prodotti consente una configurabilità elevata di OGNI aspetto dei questionari, perfetto per usi sofisticati come quiz di ammissione a corsi o generazione di buste per esami e concorsi (l'ho usato per entrambe le situazioni). La configurabilità del prodotto è così dettagliata che può spaventare chi comincia (e può essere eccessiva se si ceca solo un generatore di quiz semplici), ma è proprio il suo punto di forza e d è la risposta per tutti coloro che hanno esigenze elevate di flessibilità e potenza. Anche la varietà di tipologie di domande e l'articolazione delle valutazioni sono davvero preziosissime e coprono ogni esigenza, comprese le più arzigogolate. Cons Alcune funzionalità, proprio per l'estrema configurabilità, non sono facilmente accessibili e bisogna prendere dimestichezza col prodotto, prima di poterlo gestire al meglio. Un problema che ho riscontrato è stato l'utilizzo da remoto (specie con il secure browser): spesso gli utenti lamentavano un blocco delle sessioni ed era necessario attendere lo scadere del tempo assegnato (e un reset manuale della prova) per poter rifare il quiz. Insomma MOLTO MOLTO utile e comodo!!! Cons L'unico problema che ho riscontrato si è verificato nei periodi di lockdown durante i quali probabilmente c'era un sovraccarico di utenze. Dopo il recente aggiornamento, ritengo che la qualità sia scesa parecchio. Pros Mi piace la possibilità della gestione dettagliata dei questionari. Poter scegliere di inserire domande singole, domande casuale o blocchi di domande casuali lo trovo molto utile in quanto offre la possibilità di creare delle verifiche molto equilibrate e mirate. Cons Non mi è piaciuta la poca attenzione che l'azienda ha avuto nei confronti degli utenti. Far migrare tutto il proprio database durante l'anno scolastico e stravolgere il funzionamento e di conseguenza perdere la personalizzazione legata alla gerarchia di cartelle, l'ho trovato molto più che antipatico. Inoltre la troppa semplificazione l'ha reso macchinoso: prima era semplice spostarsi tra le varie cartelle. Adesso è molto più complicato e poco usabile dall'utente. Un esempio è quando devo scorrere nell'elenco delle cartelle che contengono le domande. In questa situazione appena cambio schermata e accedo ad una cartella, se voglio tornare indietro devo per forza tornare alla prima pagina dell'elenco. Se eseguo la stessa operazione usando il menù di sinistra, capita spesso di non essere posizionato sulla cartella interessata e quindi dover scorrere per tornare alla cartella selezionata. Inoltre per spostare/copiare più domande è troppo lento dover ogni volta scorrere tra le varie cartelle. Proprio perchè non esiste più il copia incolla come era implementato in precedenza. Reason for choosing QuestBase Per la personalizzazione. La possibilità di avere più cartelle che trattano lo stesso argomento, mi permette di dividere i questionari con molta precisione. Ad esempio, se voglio delle domande dell'argomento X mi creo la cartella X dove inserisco altre cartelle come ad esempio una cartella che chiamo "Scelta Multipla", "Scelta multipla facile" e così via. In questo modo posso decide quante domande di quel tipo e di quella difficoltà inserire in un questionario. Altri prodotti questo non lo permettono. Non riuscirei più a farne a meno. Occorre investire del tempo per preparare i questionari, ma il lavoro di costruzione di una traccia è creativo e lo si fa volentieri. Correggere, invece, è un lavoro davvero sfiancante. Se un software istruito da te ti supplisce in questo gravoso compito, perché non approfittarne? Chiaramente alcune conoscenze e competenze devi valutarle attraverso altre forme, ma sono moltissime quelle valutabili con degli automatismi come quelli offerti da QuestBase. Personalmente le prove cartacee sono state soppiantate quasi integralmente da quelle digitali. Un forte ruolo lo ha avuto QuestBase. I pregi rispetto agli svantaggi hanno decisamente la meglio. Con QuestBase ho eliminato dal mio lavoro di insegnamento le attività ripetitive e usuranti, liberando tempo per quelle più nobili e creative. Pros Possibilità di generare con un clic tracce diverse per gruppi di studenti (file) o per ciascuno studente a partire da una medesima batteria di domande. Possibilità di creare tracce multimediali, allegando immagini, video, link, ecc. alle domande. Possibilità di ottenere una correzione automatica per tutte le tipologie di domanda, esclusa la domanda a risposta aperta. Possibilità di somministrare i questionari a distanza (DaD). Possibilità di somministrare i questionari a moltissimi studenti contemporaneamente (test di ingresso, prove per classi parallele, ecc.). Possibilità di creare un archivio importante di domande. Possibilità di condividere tracce fra colleghi dello stesso Dipartimento. Risparmio di tempo e VISTA nella correzione degli elaborati. Possibilità di restituire gli elaborati in tempo reale o quasi. Cons Ansia durante lo svolgimento rispetto alla tenuta della connessione e al presentarsi di qualche inconveniente tecnico che manda a monte il lavoro di un pomeriggio per la predisposizione della traccia. Il Modulo Quiz GD va benissimo per verifiche estemporanee utili per una valutazione formativa, ma per la valutazione sommativa occorre un prodotto più professionale come QuestBase. Pros It provides a great platform for quizzes. Cons MY SILVER PLAN GIVES UNLIMITED ASSESSMENT BUT I HAVE TO HAND MAKE SOME OF THE CERTIFICATES. To be able to have the space to upload more certificates I would have to purchase a more expensive plan. I only have a few certificates to add (3 to be exact ) and it would be nice to open a few GB so that I do not have to manually make them. 1 or 2 certificate did not come over with the new platform, but currently I only need to add 3 certificates. Meaning, when students take and pass the quiz, they are not receiving the certificate in their email. Also, I am not receiving the confirmation emails with their certificate attached that I could at least forward to them. I have left half a dozen or mail emails with the Questbase technical and sales departments without one single solitary response or acknowledgement from ANYONE. The time difference, that they are in Europe and I in the US doesn't help any. They have no 800 toll free number to contact them and it has made for the most inconvenient, frustrating scenario for me and my team. We will be looking into using another platform...someone in the US. Pros Liked having one platform for the quiz, results and distribution of certificates to students. And that fact that confirmation was sent to my email when students passed or failed. This, however has ceased happening as of almost two weeks ago, with no responses from the team there to resolve the matter. And I'm a PREMIUM paid customer. Da anni il team di sviluppo aveva smesso di sviluppare nuove funzioni ma ora, con l'arrivo di questa nuova versione, pare che le cose siano cambiate. Continuano ad aggiungere funzionalità (tante erano già presenti nella prima versione di Questbase ma alcune sono proprio nuove...) per cui vedo grandi prospettive per la piattaforma e per i suoi utenti.
