### "Solid HR and payroll platform with a few rough spots"

May 29, 2026

4.0

On the whole, Paycor has worked very well in terms of payroll management in our company. It does all the things you expect it to do, and it has made the process much easier. Of course, there is the odd issue now and then, such as when customer service isn’t up to scratch, or the reporting is less than intuitive, but there have been no real issues to cause us to consider switching platforms.

Pros

chrome icon google docs icon Paycor has simplified a lot of the payroll and HR admin work that used to eat up a ton of time. Running payroll is straightforward and employee records are easy to keep up with in one place. The self-service portal for staff has been a nice addition too, people can check their pay stubs, request time off, and update their info without having to go through HR for everything. For an organization with a lot of employees it really does take a decent chunk of the manual work off the table

Cons

Customer support can be hit or miss. Sometimes you get someone helpful right away, other times you're sitting on hold or waiting on a callback for something that feels pretty urgent. The reporting tools are functional but building custom reports isn't the most intuitive process and it often takes more trial and error than it should. There have also been a handful of instances where system updates quietly changed something that then needed troubleshooting on our end to figure out.

### "Paycor for the win!"

April 16, 2026

4.0

I’ve had a great experience with Paycor. The platform is highly intuitive, and I particularly value the seamless onboarding process and the added financial flexibility provided by early direct deposits.

Pros

Seamless Transitions: When an HR admin marks a candidate as "hired" in the Recruiting module, their data flows instantly into Payroll and Onboarding. Users like that they don't have to enter the same data three different times. Centralized Tax Forms: Employees find it very helpful to have all their electronic tax forms (W-2s, 1095-Cs) in the same place they check their weekly pay

Cons

Recent shifts toward AI-driven support have frustrated some users who feel they can no longer reach a knowledgeable human representative for complex problems.

Terrible, I would not recommend due to customer support is unavailable it seems and their portal is not user friendly.

Pros

I liked how easy it was to process and submit payroll run. And looking up employees with their pto was simple as well.

Cons

Customer service was terrible, they kept me on hold until closing time for 2-3 hours of hold time. And their portal is not user friendly.

### "Good HCM system"

June 18, 2026

Pros

Ease of use, cost effective, complete HCM available including LMS and expense management options. Our implementation had some bumps but overall went well.

Cons

Now that we are live, I’m not totally satisfied with customer support. I’ve had a couple of issues that were not easily answered through chat or a call and required additional follow up which I feel has gotten lost.

Extreamly positive. The system works well and the company itself has great staff. Very happy and recommend often.

Pros

Ease in use. Ability to adapt to our organization. We use many of the modules and they work together seamlessly. Love that it works with PayActive.

I like Paycor. Overall it is easy to use. I find the communication could be better and the customer service as well. When we need assistance that can be a challenge to get down to the problem and fix. But I do appreciate the people working on the task.

Pros

I appreciate the value for the cost, I find Paycor easy to use, I also feel the payment process works well.

Cons

I would like to see more customer support, communication with partners and we had some issues with a vacation system change. It was not a great customer or team member experience and took some time to work out.

### "Worst Payroll System Ever! "

January 20, 2026

1.0

We went with Paycor three years ago after trying to decide between a few others. It was the cheapest so we went with them. BIG mistake. Not only do they have a TON of misc fees, but their fees keep increasing! Their reporting functions frequently bring back back information and I get no help when trying to get Paycor to fix the issues I find. Employees consistently have issue logging in and the 450 or some people who now use Paycor in our company, not one of them have said a positive thing about Paycor but we have had plenty of complaints. I would not choose Paycor if given the option again.

Pros

It is hard to say, I have been on several other Payroll programs and this is by far the worst. I guess despite the customer service reps being in India and having a hard time understanding me, they are always friendly.

Cons

Customer service is awful. I need to request help on a weekly basis and wait weeks to get a response sometimes and other times, I get tired of trying to re-explain my issue, so I give up

### "Improving but still needs a lot of work. "

December 4, 2025

4.0

It has been okay but there is still a long ways to go. Some of the simplest things are not available still like password requirements or document signings and it is such a roundabout way to get something done.

Pros

I like the ease of use and how everything is centralized and together in one place. I think for the cost, we are also getting a lot more than the other provider we were with.

Cons

The customer service isn't the best and it is incredibly frustrating working with some of the success managers. They are not there to help, they are just there to "buy" more time, or they just completely ghost us.

### "It's a no from me"

November 12, 2025

2.0

Poor. There was some things that were an improvement from our prior provider, so it wasn't all bad. But overall, I would never go back and definitely do not recommend them to anyone.

Pros

It helped us consolidate a bit. Less systems like removing or ACA tracking system, Nimble. Their service team was also responsive, usually within the 1 hour for email replies.

Cons

Almost everything. The support team responded quickly, but was frequently incompetent or needed the support of other departments, which were much slower, to get answers. The implementation was the worst I have every experienced and we still believe the set up they went with caused many issues for us. They also made SO many tax errors so their tax team is incompetent.

### "Customer Support Frustration"

December 5, 2025

3.0

My experience with Paycor since becoming a consumer at the beginning of 2025 has not been very pleasant. Client support has not been very helpful, most my open cases have to be escalated to the next support level. It usually takes at least a week to resolve an issue. Sometime the issue is no resolvable.

Pros

The self service features and the workflow. It put the responsibility on the employee and HR doesn’t have to contact the employee for missing information.

Cons

The time clocks and customer support. Issue is hardly resolved the same day. I usually have to send pictures and video of my issues

### "Paycor Review"

November 19, 2025

3.0

Overall it was a decent amount of value for the money, however the setup could have gone a little better with regards to implementation.

Pros

I like most of the user interface. There is a lot of options that can be enabled or disabled for certain employees, and the mobile app is especially convenient for our remote workers.

Cons

The implementation guy, \[sensitive content hidden\]. The customer support. The documents upload/accessibility permissions. It's not very easy to use as you cannot enable managers to upload employee documents without giving them access to view ANY employee document, even confidential ones.

After working with Paycor for the past four years, I truly love the system and know it like the back of my hand. I often praise the platform and credit it as a key contributor to my success in my role.

Pros

I always say you’re only as good as your tools, and I see Paycor as one of the key tools that allows me to perform my role effectively while maintaining a healthy work-life balance.

Cons

If I had to note a drawback, it would be that we are currently on a legacy version of the system. I would love the opportunity to upgrade, though I understand this is a company-level decision and not a limitation of the platform itself.

### "Not Happy with Paycor"

October 29, 2025

3.0

Our benefit implementation was set up wrong and the user interface was having issues constantly. Our taxes weren't paid on time and this caused late fees and other issues with the different states we are located in. The managers always had trouble logging in as themselves and then as leaders.

Pros

The only thing I liked about Paycor was the employee management side of things. It was easy to use for the employees.

Cons

For the money we were paying the customer service was not high quality, there were constant issues within the system causing me more stress than I care to admit.

### "Paycor is the best"

April 17, 2026

Paycor makes filing taxes easy enough and that alone has been a huge relief. Also, all my training modules are still available in the same area where my payment information resides and most importantly, no spreadsheets were harmed during the transition to Paycor. This has literally cut back 40% of the time I wasted using Excel to do things I should be doing elsewhere.

Pros

The best part about this system is that all your payroll information and employee benefit options are all in the same place. Plus, I can do this without the entire program freezing.

Cons

Nothing to dislike about it but it costs a lot to get every little integration added. I would like if the cost was lower.

### "Not the worst I've used, but certainly not the best."

January 13, 2026

3.0

As the kids say these days... my experience using Paycor at my company was quite "mid". Not the worst I've used, but certainly not the best. I know others in my organization had an even worse time with it. Internally, is was typically referred to as "Paincor".

Pros

As far as HR softwares go, it technically accomplishes most of what it sets out to do. It has an app where you can view your pay stubs and pay history and sign documents.

Cons

"Finicky" would be the word that comes to mind when I think about the couple of years my company used Paycor. Again, it mostly got the job done on the main things, but I remember the login experience being especially awful. If you backgrounded the app for more than a few seconds, your session would expire and you'd have to re-authenticate. Very frustrating when you're trying to quickly swap between another app like the calculator to figure up something. The login relentlessly needed the full 2-factor authentication as well, even if you selected "Remember this device".

June 9, 2026

Experience overall was negative. I was really eager to leave Paycor and transition to another service. Only once we told them we were leaving did they begin reaching out to provide additional support.

Pros

Reporting function was easy to use. Paycor was easy to pick up having come from another competing HRIS.

Cons

Customer support. The support was slow, unhelpful, and charged extra to correct things that were set up wrong in the first place.

January 25, 2026

Commission brokers have to be handled with accurate payroll. I apply this to make everybody paid on time which makes the employees to be handled easily.

Pros

The tax management features are simply amazing and automatically compute and submit our payroll taxes in numerous states to remote employees.

Cons

The customer care team is hard to contact when it is busy so, and it takes too many clicks to instantly fix such simple mistakes in the backend.

### "Poor service, Broken System, Laughable Costs."

July 28, 2025

1.0

If we had stayed with Paycor, our growth as a company would have stalled out. We needed accurate reporting, high integrity data, account partners, etc. Paycor offered none of that and as an extra cherry on top, turned around and offered us a "solution" for our problems that would have cost us thousands.

Pros

At a bare minimum, we were able to pay our people in a timely fashion and navigate the system as best we could.

Cons

The system is not a whole unit, it's a Frankenstein made up of small tech acquisitions dating back decades. This means that there is nobody at Paycor who is a subject matter expert, and nobody knows how to fix the breakdowns in the system.

### "Paycor, change isn't always great. "

June 4, 2025

2.0

Paycor did streamline our Payroll and HR which made it easy to provide employees and administrators with what they needed to access. There was a learning curve with the platform, but it was easier to learn than some of the more complex systems out there. Payroll was reliable and assuming it's not too complex, I'm confident that Paycor can handle most situations. Once they went public/were acquired by a large competitor, the support and system went downhill and we ultimately left.

Pros

Pre Paychex acquistion, Paycor was reliable and cheaper than most alternative solutions for Payroll for small businesses. One thing that was superior was their chat customer service, where others had previously required email or phone support. Chat was quick and responsive.

Cons

Their software and platform feels old and outdated compared to others that we became aware of. It didn't reliably load and we'd occasionally have to refresh to access the platform. They never made a mistake from our payroll processing, but from a functionality standpoint, we'd have to go back and verify payrolls early on to double check.
