Pros: The software is pretty intuitive and provides several great ways to view task allocation as well as costs vs. actuals. I've found this very convenient and useful when trying to monitor budgets and time going into the project.

Cons: While more intuitive than several softwares, FunctionPoint lacks efficiency in the amount of steps it takes to achieve one task. Something as simple as sending someone a task takes a longer time to set up on the front-end (via estimates, creating the job, etc) than to simply put in a task.

Pros: keeps track of everything from person to person. Is very easy to explain to someone new and works for everything we do

Cons: Could use more functions and the app is a little lacking. the folder structure is a little messed up since the recent update.

Pros: The Customer Support is quick to respond, is very patient walking you through the steps.
The Company is always open to ideas and suggestions.

Cons: This is not so much about fp. as it is about the interface with QBO. After switching from QuickBooks Desktop to QuickBooks Online, the User Interface was affected. Due to the limitations of QuickBooks Online, it affected the way we could use fp. and some of its' functions. One Example - QBO does not recognize Job #'s; fp. has figured out a work around, but it would be easier to be able to use Job's, as they are designed.

Overall: Saves time and allows for greater productivity.

Pros: In the end, our project management team needs to know when things are due and what's on everyone's plate. Communication is essential to that, and Function Point makes these tasks very easy. From estimates to timesheets, it's just as good, if not better, than other project management software.

Cons: The price is a bit high compared to other options, and it requires quite a bit of ramp-up time. In the end, this is not ideal for small teams, as they can be far more agile and don't need something like this to weigh them down.

Pros: We love how intuitive the software is and easy to use. The people at the company are great, too, and the training and support is phenomenal. Couldn't recommend it enough...especially after having use a number of advertising software competitors that seem to market towards the accounting folks and have no CLUE how the rest of the agency really uses a project management tool. These people truly get what agencies need.

Cons: I wish that they had a media buying aspect to their software. Also the notifications are a bit complex and we get too many emails. But it's a small price to pay for all the other awesomeness of the software.

Pros: This software adequately serves its function as our project management and billing tool. Well designed interface that's easy to navigate and customize per user role. Customer service is great and responsive. Serves its purpose well.

Cons: My biggest issue with the software to date has been the ability to customize toward our needs. i.e. more flexibility to run reports applicable to our business needs. That being said, its works great for what we pay. Another thing I'd like to see added to the functionality is an app that would allow our users to assign tasks via iPhone/Android.

Overall: Great value. It's not the most robust tool that I've used, but it gets what we need done.

Pros: The estimate and budget system is great and has helped manage, track, and forecast financials. The support we received from FP experts when we first started using it was excellent. They were always willing to hop on the phone to answer any questions or to help us troubleshoot. Customer service is amazing. The multiple quick ways to search data and find your way in the software is a huge help. This software is very robust and helps everyone see whats going on

Cons: The project scheduling is a bit clunky and the collaboration tools are not as intuitive as desired. I also find the batch invoice process to be a bit buggy from time to time. I believe this has to do with the invoice numbering.

Function Point is a great tool for organizing all of the work my creative services department does.

Pros: I like that my designers know what tasks to prioritize and that all the information for a job is organized in one place. I like that our internal clients can request new jobs and log in to make comments and see files without having to email attachments.

Cons: Because my team is in-house, we don't need the Estimates feature. I wish there were a way to open a job without first having to open an estimate.

Pros: The reporting functions are great.
The little clock that shows up on tracking time to tasks is an incredibly efficient tool.
The weekly view for timesheets tracking is enlightening.
Dashboard customization allows people to see what is most important to them in order to increase their productivity.

Cons: Sometimes cumbersome (too many clicks) to get from one place to another.
Task sometimes don't work the way they need to for tracking timesheets.

Pros: I love that it can adapt to how I like to use it. Having worked with other applications over the years, it incorporates the things I liked about those and improves on what I didn't like.

Cons: I can't figure out how to enter time for future days. I can't pre-enter vacation days for example. Other than that, I have no issues.

Pros: I love that everything is customizable. The custom dashboards are probably my favorite. Having deadlines and colored time budgets are super helpful.

Cons: The breadcrumb navigation is dysfunctional and doesn't actually tell you where you are or how you got there. I wish there was an easier way to navigate between jobs, notes and tasks without having to go all the way back out and back in again.

Overall: Being able to store all of our jobs (thousands) and searching for them easily. Everything is online and easily accessed from mobile and desktop. I like the app that helps me easily check my tasks and deadlines for the day.

Pros: I like the ability to search notes, jobs, and companies. I also like being able to easily see where we are with budgets and services.

Cons: How pinned notes work. I've had technical issues, being pinned a note but not notified, and I'd like to be able to close them or tag people on individual comments

Pros: I like the time tracking feature. I work at an advertising agency. Our team using this feature daily to clock our time throughout the day. From meetings to individual jobs, FunctionPoint gives us a way to track our REAL time, in turn, helping us make our business practices more efficient.

Cons: I wish the job jackets would have the option to print out with multiple deadlines. For example, a "proof out by" date, a "printed by" date and an "install" date.

Pros: The best part of FunctionPoint is the ability to work through a task list in order of priority and due dates. This allows for cross-functional teams to work together through large tasks, and work individually and efficiently through the smaller tasks.

Cons: FuntionPoint does not allow for a separation between the billable hour, and the hour billed to the client. For example, if a task requires putting off other work, then a "rush charge" may be billed to the client. However, other than inflating billable hours, it is difficult to account for this time in FunctionPoint without creating a manual process for the billing/AR team.

Pros: Grouping estimates and jobs for specific clients and being able to search by many different criteria (i.e. company name, estimate number etc.)

Cons: I wish there was a feature where there was a dashboard showing all current jobs and status at a glance. Currently we have to as each producer status on a given job.

Overall: ease of use and that all information on video projects are readily available with the exception of a work in progress dashboard

Pros: I love how I can be tasked with a job and instantly click the clock icon to automatically fill all the necessary sections, before adding the description.

Cons: I wish I could search with key words for past job I've posted in an easier way. It would be great if I could just search a specific word and anything I've ever posted having that word would show up.

Pros: Task management by individual person. Resourcing forecast based on date range. Ability to use it from anywhere.

Cons: The new scheduling list doesn't really work for our team, we prefer the old schedule template if we have to adjust entire schedules rather than having to adjust each individual task in the schedule. Some of our schedules have hundreds of tasks, so the adjust dates functionality in the old schedule is crucial for us.

Overall: Individual task and time management.

Pros: The connect to email feature is fabulous, as is the Campaign view especially for viewing financials across several jobs at once. Just being cloud-based is a huge plus too. Very customizable which has made our team's immersion great, support is fantastic and very fast. We all love it!

Cons: Sometimes the organization is a little irritating, ie if I click into a job's Notes from the icon on the Summary page (as opposed to the Notes "tab") I'm now in an overall Notes space and no longer under the umbrella of the job I started from. Even with the breadcrumbs, I find I have to do a fair amount of backward navigating to access info I'd already navigated to. If I click into a task, to get back to the main task list I have to navigate back to the job, then back to the Tasks tab/list. I know we can use the browser's Back button but that doesn't feel like true navigation and sometimes needs a refresh to update which is just another added step. Just seems funny to me that sometimes while navigating within a job, you are taken outside of it even if you are still just viewing its contents. Overall this is minor and we've gotten used to it, and I'm sure there are reasons why things are the way they are, but if I could change it I probably would. Only another thing I'd say is that more text formatting options would be huge, being able to set a text to even just one other color (red?) or highlight portions of text would make tasking things out even better.

Pros: Function point is incredibly good at consolidating your billable hour tracking, creative briefs, projects and more. Additionally, it allows you to have multiple team members working on the same project at once.

Cons: The only thing that I have found frustrating with function point is how easily the timer clears (you win this one, toggl). If you accidentally close the tab you were tracking time in, say bye-bye to your accurate number. This is easily solved by popping out the timer, but sometimes you just forget.

Pros: Estimated hours versus actual and showing profitability. Integrating timesheets with project management. Integration with QuickBooks. Number of reports you can pull. Onboarding and setup was great and so nice that we had a dedicated person to answer all questions that pop up. I loved that we drove the screen during implementation- great training technique.

Cons: Can be slow because it is cloud based- maybe a designated browser would help. Can be overwhelming with all the things you can accomplish- maybe the deployment team can help with a starting point and then what is good to add on over time as users become more comfortable. Training the staff is hard because there is no full handbook or complete user guide to give to the staff. It required a lot of my time as the Admin to understand the product so that I could setup and create training for the staff.

Overall: Profitability reports, fewer number of tools needed (all combined into one). Chance for the full team to see what the estimated hours were versus what they spent so that they can be more accountable for sticking to the estimated hours on work orders. The ability to see what jobs we run over hours on so that we can raise the price or become more efficient in some way.

Cons: The learning curve and getting everything set up was a big undertaking, but we are glad we did it and have no regrets.

Overall: Before choosing Function Point, we researched MANY different options and weighed out the pros and cons of each. We chose FP because of its versatility, price point, and customer service. Especially in the beginning, we submitted a lot of "wish list" items, almost ALL of which have been incorporated into the software since we started using it several years ago. The team is helpful, professional, and just plain COOL. We couldn't imagine running our agency without the software. From the time keeping to the projects and assignments management to the client portal, FP offers everything we need. Even though we're a boutique firm, FP gives us the capability to operate like our larger counterparts. We are hyper organized and the software seamlessly integrates into our systems and procedures. We are very pleased with our choice and look forward to many, many more years as FP clients!

Comments: As a growing advertising agency, we needed help managing our timesheets, workflow, schedules and budgets. We went from paper daily workflow sheets to this user-friendly digital solution. Pros: easy to use, easy to manage projects and hours, keeps your projects organized

Cons: Sometimes it is a bit slow and it takes a minute to register an update, for example when I dismiss some of my notifications, it takes a bit to remove it from the list and it reloads to the homepage.

Overall: We've been using Function Point for a little over 1.6 year and it is a great program. It made a positive change in our daily operations - from communicating jobs between the account, creative and digital teams, to managing personal and client hours.
Function Point is very easy to use, it keeps all of your client jobs in the same place, so it is easy to reference a past job whether it is a job from a month ago or from a year ago. Also you can add as many contacts as needed, so the whole team has access to the jobs/assets/information and etc.

I would definitely recommend the program.

Pros: Ease of use, clear simple design, great reporting and tracking of jobs.

Cons: Having to download files in the files tab can take a while
Cant have symbols in links

Overall: Our experience with Function Point has been a really positive one. Right from the start the FP team were happy to help with any queries and even now with any questions that come up they respond in a timely manner with the answers. The actual program is easy to use and the whole team agrees we don't know what we did without it!

Cons: Their customer support team is really great and always willing to help you figure out how to accomplish your ideas. They also have a great suggestion board where users give ideas on how to make the product better. They have used a couple of mines already! It's a great community that works together to continuously improve and perfect the program.

Overall: We have been using Function Point for a little over a year now and we are very happy with it overall. It definitely takes some time to learn the product... as with any software, you have to learn the different functionalities. However, the main commitment is figuring out what works best for you and your company. What one company might love, another might find pointless, but that is the great thing about the program! You can customize it to fit your needs.

Our company manages Associations and we do a lot of print and design work for them. Our Associations use the Function Point portal to submit and track their jobs. They can also use it to reference past jobs so they always know what paper something printed on, who the vendor was that printed it, and the quantity that was printed. We can track proofs and keep files all organized in one place, rather than in emails and filing cabinets.

On the art department side, we can track what jobs we have in progress, assign tasks to different designers and web developers, and even invoice the job when it is completed. I can tell you that we save so much time just being able to locate jobs and all the information about them rather than digging for information! We also use the time clock to track non-billable work so we can see how efficiently our team is working and where improvements can be made.

Going back to invoicing... this feature has helped us and our accounting department tremendously. We are able to use the time clock to track time spent on a job so we know we are billing accurately. We can apply different hourly rates to different clients (such as not-for-profits) and see what our profit on a job is immediate. The invoice also looks more attractive than a lot of programs because you can brand and customize it.

Recommendations to other buyers: If I was going to say anything I don't like about Function Point it would be one very minor thing... If someone forgets to close their task when it is completed, you can't easily go back and change the status of the task. You have to reopen the job, close the task, and then close the job again. But like I said, it's just a minor inconvenience!!

Comments: From my perspective, I can see where the project management tools can be functional for the rest of the office. My views however, could use some more controls. Examples: 1) When something is deleted, it is gone forever, I can't tell who did it or why, just that it's gone. 2) Why can shipping be entered as an internal expense. This is never the case, but everyone in the office has the ability to select it (after several attempts to remove the feature), and we will never pay ourselves for shipping; we pay FedEx for that. 3) There is no way to easily track open POs, and once an invoice is received for a portion of the PO, I have to create a copy and edit what is remaining so an additional invoice can be entered against the job, then go back to the original PO and make notes as to where the new information needs to end up (example: we order 10 pieces of furniture for a project-5 are ready to ship today invoice#1, 3 pieces ship next January invoice#2, and the last 2 ship in March invoice#3). There is no easy way to tell me which parts of the PO are complete and what I am still waiting for. I find this extremely time consuming and it can delay billing. 4) Generally, I have 4 open Function Point windows working at the same time. Because we export to QuickBooks, and the export feature takes longer than 1 minute, I am entering vendor invoices, exporting, opening another window, exporting another invoice, etc... Once I have all 4 windows completed, I go back to the beginning, 'stop QB sync' the invoice so it can be classified in QB for our two different sides of the company (for financial reporting) and then begin the process again. I have developed a system over the last 10 months, but find that this can be confusing and if I asked anyone else to try and do this 'data entry', steps would get skipped and un-syncing may not occur (5))which caused a huge back up of information and stopped allowing export to QB period).

Comments: Much like my title, I wish that every place I worked used function point. It truly does help me plan my work load significantly each week and easily transfer the tasks back and forth between the necessary people. Greatly speeds up my process and keeps me organized throughout a whole task. Slight learning curve but once it clicks you will never be able to go back.

Comments: My experience with Function Point has been overall positive. It is a very intuitive system that does a good job of accurately tracking projects and being a capable tool for project managers. Pros: Time tracking, Job Management from Estimate to Invoicing.

Cons: Lack of visual interest (i.e. would be great to look for like Trello cards /boards at a glance to see all project status at once) - also would be nice to have a thumbnail of the project (i.e. of the ad, brochure, etc.) next to the job name on all dashboards.

Overall: We have been using Function Point for two years. Overall, it has been a terrific upgrade for us. Our time keeping and job management are all in one place, whereas previously we managed those two things separately.
Onboarding was very smooth and easy. We felt we had adequate training and that the software is very intuitive for new users. I like that it is customizable for each user and that different level employees have different permissions/views.
Being a creative shop, some employees long for something more visual like Trello for project management. However, Trello and the like do not have all of the back-end time tracking and accounting that Function Point does.
Overall, we really like Function Point. It has been a time saver for time tracking, estimating, invoicing, and workflow management. We do not have a client portal and do not plan to in the near future. We are just beginning the process of linking to Quickbooks and look forward to the benefits that will bring.
Customer Support is super responsive and helpful for troubleshooting, every time.

Comments: While I liked what Function Point could do when we first purchased it, my team quickly learned that it was very unwieldy and took far too many steps to make a single change. Today's software allows for immediate editing, drag and drop functionality, and is much more intuitive. Unfortunately, this is no longer a long term solution for us.

Comments: Function Point has allowed us to refine our operations significantly. A lot of our processes were being done manually by hand and taking absorbent amounts of time. Since implementing Function Point, we have saved countless hours by being able to automate many functions. From entering and sharing client information/notes, to entering expenses, timesheets and invoicing our clients - Function Point has made life much easier and streamlined. The estimating and markup process has allowed us to focus on the work that needs to be done, not manually calculating billing rates and expenses. And the reporting - WOW. We are able to dive very deep into the details of our business unlike any software before.

I would highly recommend Function Point to any agency that is looking streamline their internal processes, desiring in-depth reporting, and seeking great overall usability out of a software.

Pros: automation power of schedules, integrated timetracking and invoicing

Cons: FP tries to accommodate so many types of businesses I feel there is a lot of wasted features for me personally. Some aspects of system setup were very cumbersome, and certain features just don't make sense; Using taxes for US based businesses is a burden, unable to add a separate bill-to on invoices than the actual company name (many companies use alternate names for billing) makes integrating into QB a burden as there must be manual changes whenever this occurs (which is often), and numerous other odd items that don't make sense to me.

Overall: Great customer service and training for initial setup and loads of features. The software has a lot to offer but takes effort to manage correctly. Some features are not fleshed out as well as they could be, but I am continually impressed with the updates that are released. I feel that FP is actually listening to users and making changes to continually improve performance. Overall I would highly recommend -- 95/100

Recommendations to other buyers: Despite some problems, FP is amazing and has changed our business. I could find no other software packages that had anywhere close to the customization of FP that allowed our shop shop to tailor the functionality to our core business of custom design and fabrication.

Comments: Our team loves Function Point. It has helped us get organized and better manage our projects. I do sometimes find myself wishing there were more features such as a portal user app. Most of our portal users are not at a desktop computer a lot and it would be great for them to review files "in the field." We are now forced to use email again (which was one of the main reasons we started using FP - to get away from emailing everything) and its a little more work for our team. If our portal users had a way to view, comment, and approve jobs through their mobile phones - our lives woudl definitely improve :)

Cons: The notifications are obnoxious and while they can be super granular on what you can subscribe to, we as a team still get way too many for things that still are not relevant to us.

Overall: Function point has been helpful in the area of getting our process and procedure into a rhythm, however it does lack in certain places. Notes, should have the ability to not be seen by everyone. The alerts, once you click into one it should be removed off of your alert list. I don't understand the need to have an estimate created before every job, especially since we haven't incorporated billing into our system. Also, there should be more customizable sections not just the additional fields in companies and contacts. Our Customer Success Manager Marissa was fantastic, she was supportive and patient.

Overall: IVY's experience with Function Point has been nothing short of outstanding in our first months utilizing the system. As an agency with over 17 years and 2000 projects under our belt, there was a concern that migrating to a new software package would be a disrupter to our business flow. This has not been the case whatsoever. In fact, the implementation of Function Point was seamless and, even in its infancy within our agency, we are already seeing improved workflows, visibility into projects, and increased billings as a result.

From our account manager Jimmy to our on boarding consultant Isabel, the team at Function Point has gone above and beyond to make this process simple. I have no doubt that the outstanding support we have received from the Function Point team will continue and help our business grow into the future.

Lastly, to comment on the platform itself, Function Point is an incredibly well thought out piece of software. It is very clear that the developers have a deep understanding of what goes on within the operations of a creative agency and the user interface clearly reflects this care and attention. We were able to get up and running with minimal stress and we will easily cover the cost of the software within the first 6 months due to the increased efficiency and visibility into project health.

First rate. I would absolutely recommend Function Point to any team looking to streamline their workflows, seamlessly collaborate on projects, and increase revenues as a result!

Recommendations to other buyers: If your agency is not yet using a front to back software engine to coordinate the many aspects of your business, I highly recommend getting in touch with Function Point as soon as possible.

Comments: As a start-up full service advertising agency, we were looking for an all-inclusive software for project management and overall agency workflow. After researching multiple options we decided on Function Point based on pricing structure (it could grow with us) and because we had received fantastic customer support since the first e-meeting. We have used Function Point for almost 9 months now and have no complaints. The Support team is fabulous and responds within hours on any questions we have. I highly recommend Function Point!

Pros: From tracking hours and budgets, to pulling financial reports and staff utilization reports, right now, it is giving us everything we need to run smoothly and effectively.

Cons: There are a few features I think could be upgraded (resources link, scheduling feature) but I know fp is constantly working on making enhancements. Even with the only using fp for 3 months, I've seen new things...keep them coming!

Overall: FP has been a life saver for our agency. We have never been so organized, and we've only being using the system for 3 months. Our Monday morning traffic meetings are a breeze (under 30 minutes, a 10-year record!) , everyone knows exactly what they should be working on, and how long they have to work on it. It helps us forecast ahead, as well as help manage schedules day to day.

Recommendations to other buyers: Would like to see more staff reporting features, based on billable and scheduled hours etc. And would love to see the resources link have more filtering options (billable, vs non-billable, etc). Keep the updates coming!

Pros: Deep feature set, powerful interface, remote accessibility, ease of use, customer service, idiot proof, smooth running

Cons: Nothing--it's damn near perfect.

Overall: We used a spreadsheet to organize jobs and accounts, but as our business grew so did the spreadsheet. And not in a good way. We knew it was crucial to find an app that would engage our progression to a higher level. Having Function Point is what we imagine having clones of our best employees must be like. Intuitive, dynamic, quick, versatile, deep features, excellent customer service...this software is an essential part of our success. And it has paid for itself several times over. We couldn't be happier.

Recommendations to other buyers: Don't think twice. This is the app you need to keep on track with projects, clients and jobs.

Pros: The organisation and workflow process. Quoting & invoicing is now so simple.

Cons: We have a couple of clients that like to attribute multiple POs to the one job, i.e. multiple estimates to what is ultimately the one job. We've had to create projects for all of these but it then becomes confusing which job number we're referring to. It would be ideal if you could have multiple active estimates for the one job.

Overall: Overall our experience & journey with FP has been amazing! Being based in Australia we were slightly concerned about the on-boarding/training process happening remotely, but the team at FP, especially Marissa, made it seamless. We felt so well equipped to deal with using the platform ourselves in day to day agency life almost instantaneously.

The platform itself is very intuitive & allows us to have greater visibility over every aspect of a job from workflow through to financial management. It's completely customisable and has saved us a lot of time through automation. Key to this success was setting everything up correctly from the beginning. The support we received from the team at FP (specifically Marissa) is second to none. Nothing is ever a problem & you always finish a call far more educated than when you started and she leaves you with a big smile on your face.

We cannot thank the team at FP enough for all they've done for us!

Recommendations to other buyers: It's honestly a great platform. There are a couple of minor formatting or personalisation things that would be great, but I know everyone is different. Plus new updates are happening all the time!

Overall: We are a small (10-20 employees) creative marketing agency and Function Point has been a great tool for our business. I particularly like the schedule feature which we use to develop "plans of attack" for prospective work that can easily be converted into estimates and then executed as tasks. Schedules can easily be duplicated and adjusted for repeat projects and they help keep our team on the same page regarding the vision for execution of our work. There is a small learning curve for some of the functionality in Function Point, but once you become familiar with the terminology and processes, everything makes sense. If you do have questions, Function Point's world-class customer service resources are second to none. They have an extensive amount of training documents online and regularly hold live webinar training sessions on a variety of functions and features. Their team of customer service representatives are also quick to respond to any direct communications and work diligently to resolve issues. I also appreciate how they involve their customers in upcoming feature enhancements and updates by letting them test beta versions and asking for feedback. It really makes us feel like we have an impact on how the product evolves.

Recommendations to other buyers: Don't be overwhelmed with all the features and functionality Function Point offers. We started out with just using the basics and have implemented other aspects of the product as we became more familiar with it.

Pros: It's appearance. It's intuitiveness. The customer service.

Cons: That you can't create an estimate and then assign it to a job. The process is very linear and can be very frustrating.

Overall: I have used and reviewed a number of agency workflow management products and Function Point is without doubt the most intuitive and user experience friendly one out there. It does everything it says that it can do and is in a constant state of improvement. The customer support is excellent and I can say without reserve that Function Point has changed the way we work... for the better, much better.

Pros: I enjoy the real time data, and the software being online, easily accessible from anywhere with internet. Having the iPhone app is handy too.

Cons: some management reports that I would like to be able to pull in CSV/excel are only available in PDF form. Example - Manage Staff Rates can only be printed in PDF file. it would be great if we could pull a csv - which would make reviewing the rates much easier.

Overall: Isabel has been such a pleasure to deal with.. Any question we have had she has responded and addressed immediately. Thomas has been great to deal with in terms of support - I have already sent him a few inquiries and he responds immediately and has a solution. I have worked for companies with internal Business Analyst support teams and they were/are not as good as the service you provide. thank you for always being available when needed.

Pros: Budgets, tasks, and schedules can all be connected and feed into each other, meaning less work for our team. Enter a timesheet entry and everyone knows the status of that task and how it has affected the overall budget immediately.

Cons: I think most things are specific to how we do business. For example, we'd like more customization of contacts and companies so we can track details more specifically. Right now, we're maintaining two CRMs -- FP and Salesforce. It would be amazing to combine them.

We'd like to be able to give clients more insight into their projects. We stopped pursuing the client portal because it looked outdated. Perhaps that's changed. But providing some way to share a real-time timeline / schedule with clients would be valuable to us.

We'd also value a re-do of the Resource Planner / Scheduler that allowed us to look at forecasted work, landed business that's not yet actionable (draft tasks) and landed, actionable work. This would give us greater insight into what business we can commit to.

Overall: Function Point has grown with us as we've grown as a company. Their support team is responsive when question arise, and I know that everyone from their account team to product development to support is available when I need them. Their interest in soliciting feedback and involving clients in their roadmap development is so welcome.

Recommendations to other buyers: Keep updating, keep modernizing. There are a lot of PM tools on the market that are moving forward and simply "look better". Other tools seem to provide some of the functionality we're looking for now. I'm holding my team off as much as possible on a move because know much of what we need is on your road map and is being actively developed now.

Pros: Great value for a ton of functionality

Cons: The only issue that I have with the system relates to the tasking, as it's different then our agency workflow.

Overall: Function Point has been a major asset for our Creative Agency over the past 8 plus years of use. With a ton of easy to use features and reporting, it's allowed our firm to estimate, create, track, and bill out thousands of past and ongoing projects. The up to date time tracking and reporting has been fantastic for us and given us a true pulse on the business, as we track and communicate project progress with our clients and team.

With major benefits and ease of use, we've now added it into another one of our businesses to provide the same successes. To me the system provides a ton of features and value at an affordable rate.

Cons: Learning the system was probably the most difficult part of the system and while it is now easy to navigate, there are quite a few clicks it takes to get to my end goal.

Overall: I know we are not using the software to the best of its abilities, so it's difficult for me to say it's awesome or it's terrible. We have had wonderful customer service, but there are a lot of clicks that seem to take more time than actually necessary.

Recommendations to other buyers: Continue to keep up the great customer service. Every time I call in with a question, my call is answered. Every time I email our rep, I get a prompt response.

Cons: The accountant integration was a bit of a challenge.

Overall: It was a company goal to find a project management software that would connect many different aspects of our business. From graphic design, to digital and award winning event marketing to publishing our own community magazine - all aspects of our company, from designers to account executives to our accountant were using separate systems. Not to mention most of us were project managing out of email. Things were falling through the cracks and it was difficult to track how much time we were actually spending on projects. Function Point has given us the capability to have us all on the same page and access the same information easily and quickly. It quickly minimized confusion. We moved from a simple time tracking software that was from the 1980's to a robust system that does more than we were looking for (a didn't know we needed.) There has been a learning curve, because let's face it - no one likes change - but we all have quickly adapted to the new system. The customer service has been outstanding. From our talented and persistent account exec Darren, our sweet on board trainer Marissa to our Customer Success Manager Sophia to our accountant's favorite person in Support, Thomas. If we put a request in for help, in a matter of minutes, someone from fp. is calling or e-mailing us back. The training documents provided are a wealth of knowledge and provide easy clarifications and answers to most, if not all of our questions. I look forward to the continued updates fp. strives for as they make this product better and better. The continued webinars are super helpful. We're able to provide a better service to our clients, thanks to fp.

Pros: Soup to nuts. It is comprehensive and is wonderfully supported by the responsive team at FP.

Cons: The graphic interface needs some work. Slowly we are getting there, but that would be my only criticism.

Overall: Function Point is the backbone to our studio. It helps us manage clients, the projects they assign us, costs that are incurred as a result of these jobs and allows us to focus on developing exceptional creative solutions for our clients. Without it we would be lost.

Pros: One of the features I love most about Function Point is how every part of it communicates making it that much easier for the whole office to communicate and be on the same page with each project/job.

Cons: My only issue I have with Function Point are the reports. I would like more options when printing out financials on jobs, individually and as a whole. There are no costs available on printable reports.

Overall: The Function Point staff and support has been amazing and so helpful from day one. I love the features of Function Point and how easy it all is to use, plus whenever I have had a question the support continues to help in any way possible and always right away.

Recommendations to other buyers: I love the confidence of having the Function Point staff and support always available and ALWAYS so pleasant. I never once felt like I couldn't ask something no matter how silly I felt the question was.

Pros: We like having the basic documents all stored in one place--estimate, CB, invoice.

Cons: Rigid work processes
Very difficult to use for projects that have open-ended costs and fixed costs combined--designed for one or the other, not both.
Quickbooks integration has been very time-consuming and frustrating.

Overall: While there are some things we like about this, on the whole we would not choose it again. It is not intuitive and some core features one would expect don't exist--so require a work-around. It has been more frustrating to use than we hoped, and we will be looking to replace it when we can.

Comments: We are a full-service digital agency and we wanted a solution that was a marriage between CRM, resource management, project management, time tracking, proposals/briefs, reporting and invoicing. fp. was the answer. fp. has helped us to manage a complex set of rate cards, service codes, and types of resources, which has helped save us hundreds of hours of wading through multiple spreadsheets to manage the same kind of thing in MS Excel. We carefully analyzed all of the competition out there before starting a new agency, and found fp to be the winner on every level. Their onboarding team bent over backwards to help get us up and running, and train us.

Comments: The product: Very useful. You can streamline everything from new business leads, resource planning, time tracking, revenue reporting and everything in between. The system's back end is very customizable, and you can tailor everything (more than you even think of on a day-to-day basis) to the way you will best use it. You can tell it was really very delicately planned and well-thought out. I'd recommend really taking the time to learn it, identify how your agency will use it, and set it up accordingly. Otherwise, you may find yourself needing to backtrack and re-enter information because everything is interconnected. It's intricate and detailed, but user-friendly and simple if you take the time and use it thoughtfully.

The customer service: Outstanding. They are friendly and knowledgeable, and actually want to provide support. They are available to help you maximize what you get out of it and do just that. I'd recommend poking around in the system in advance of each of the training sessions - they go through a lot of material and it's a lot to digest if you're seeing it for the first time. You can maximize your time with your consultant if you've used it a bit and have some specific questions.

Comments: If you are a creative looking for a project management software, Function Point will absolutely fit your needs. It syncs beautifully with Quickbooks and we've seen no issues with the sync.

Comments: As a small agency of 8 people, making the change to a new system was a daunting task. It seemed like it would fit the bill, but I was worried about the learning curve and the what if I didn¿t like it after we got into the thick of it. I knew, however, that this should be a good move, we needed to do this before we grow and add more people. The system has everything I need and much I didn¿t know I¿d want. Setting up was challenging but Jim our FP expert here (and the guy who discovered you) was chomping at the bit to get this going took total control of setting us up. Between the two of us we really rocked set up which means the system is very Mac minded. This year was our first full year on the system and everyone here loves it for many different reasons and we are still only scratching the surface of what it can do. Time keeping and invoicing is now a breeze, for me I have started to check everyones weekly time just to be sure everything has been entered, I caught days of missing entries, I had assumed everyone was entering time on a regular basis. Its like finding money!

Too many reasons to say why I love this system. I know more, save time, can access anywhere-anytime. My key people can access everything if I¿m not here. I especially like attaching printing invoices to the job so anyone can access it instead of me going through my files to find it.

On another note, we couldn¿t have gotten through all this without the web classes, and you tube videos. Makes for a wonderful way to learn. Then there are your problem solvers. Every question I have ever had was addressed promptly and explained so I could follow through. I think that is really important. Makes me feel even better just know I can get answers when I need them.

Thanks for changing our business for the better!

Why am I writing now? Well, as I opened the program to start my day I realized I¿m really on top of this now. It isn't forced ¿I gotta do this", or remembered ¿dam-it I forgot to enter...", its habit. Took a while but seemed after so much getting used to it I should finally let you all know me and my crew love it, especially me, the one who has to access and keep track of all of this.

Comments: Our relationship with FP started with Ross St. George. He made our experience personal by taking the time to learn about our staff and any updates coming from our company.

The software is incredibly sophisticated and one negative would be that it took a significant time to learn how to use it properly. But, the servicing and personal guidance that was received along the way completely overshadowed any frustrations and allowed us to apply this into our agency.

Comments: Function Point has more functionality than we could have dreamed of. It's taken away our need to create reports manually in spreadsheets and has enabled us to better plan our projects. Every day we are discovering new features and info it can provide us. The Function Point team is also amazing and quick to respond to any question we have.

Comments: I joined my Agency about 20 months back. At that point, it became quickly apparent that the Firm was in need of an Agency Management System capable of handling the growth. After rating 5 of the leading programs based on about 15 factors (ie. Great UI, strong support system, evolving, OS compatibility, easy to use time-tracker etc.), Function Point found itself at the top of the leaderboard. That was in comparison to programs going for twice the price. Once we finally integrated the software in our Agency we were quite pleased with how easy it was to adopt the new system inside of our existing processes. Now 16 months later, I'm quite pleased with my initial decision and I'm looking forward to all the updates FP has in the works to continually evolve its software.

Pros:
- Easy to use
- Great User Interface/User Experience
- Easy on the eyes and great job summarys
- Lots of useful information at your finger tips
- When needed, FP has the robust features you might expect in more premium programs.

Cons:
- The back-end coding still seems a little rigid and thus small coding changes that could have a big impact on your business require some time.
- Being in the experiential marketing sector, we process a lot of expenses. The UI does not accomodate our throughput when compared to Quickbooks.
- Sometimes the back-end reporting has minor glitches relating to taxes etc. that can be frustrating as it requires an extra step to understand what the actual "Health" of your project might be.

Overall, our Agency is looking forward to growing with Function Point and we're extremely happy with their support team (shout outs to OMAR!!) and the whole gang there who made sure the implementation went smoothly. They have a solid team and I think this will pay dividends for their clients as they are taking all the right steps to ensure they are a leader in this segment. I'd highly recommend their product for an XM Agency but especially for a purely creative company (with little to no external expenses). The program is growing nicely with our mid-size Company and we're happy to be working with such an innovative Company and hope they will provide us with the tools we need to ensure we can continue to grow and evolve.

Comments: The product Function Point is very user friendly and has been the software we have found that has made sure we are running smoothly in our agency. It has the right functions a project management system needs.

It has a few things our staff personnel dislike but there minor like the search bar, and tasks assigning , other than that in my opinion it works best for our agency.

One thing i love about Function Point is that you are able to really find support when you need it. You reach a live person who understands what you need support in. Very Helpful and friendly!

And We really like how the product evolves with the feedback from its clients. And the way businesses are being run at this time. Each change has been an improvement with the way technology has been evolving.

Overall all the staff at Function Point are friendly, smart and have great customer service skills.

FP is the best solution with best support!

Comments: My firm has been using Function Point for over 4 years. Before we decided to go with FP, we created an in-house team to evaluate FP along with 5 or so other applications. FP was the clear winner and we have not had any regrets with our decision to go with FP.

Some of the other applications we reviewed offered built in accounting and we really did not like this approach. We felt like it was better to let the Quickbooks of the world worry about the accounting as they have hundreds of experts dedicated to keeping their application updated. We wanted our solution to focus on all the other parts that are necessary to running a profitable agency and dedicate their team to making that the best that it could be. FP's seamless integration with Quickbooks, gave us the best of both worlds.

FP listens. If we have product improvement suggestions they listen and often incorporate those into their ongoing software updates. Not to say they do every crazy thing we suggest, but the stuff that makes sense for all their clients always make it into the updates.

Finally, A company is only as strong as its support and FP has delivered to our firm the highest level of support. We deal with other online software solutions on behalf of our clients and no other company comes close to the support FP give us.

Comments: We've been working with Function Point for two years for our agency software. They're a Vancouver based online software built specifically for creative service companies and have helped me to keep my sanity offline. :)

Before Function Point we used a whole conglomeration of apps and duct tape to manage our production company. We did CRM with Sales Force, estimating in QB, project management in Basecamp, hours tracking in Harvest, and then had to manually sync everything back into QB for invoicing. It was such a waste of time and really created a lot of logjams that slowed down important steps like invoicing.

Function Point came in and brought all five of those apps (including the duct tape) into one clean system for us.

Highly recommend!
