Pros I like the clean look, ease of use and features provided by truDigital. Cons It was interesting that I needed to go outside of the software to create slides in Google Slides. At first I thought this was a hassle, however, since then I've mastered the process. It's not bad. One thing I'm disappointed in is that the YMCA font is Cachet and Cachet is not available in Google Slides. We lose our look a bit by not using it. Cons The players seem to go offline quite a bit. Rebooting doesn't seem to help the issue. But that's what we're always told to do. We've got a player that's gone offline at least 3 times this year. March 25, 2019 5.0 We have deployed 20 truDigital units to 20 different locations spread across the US. We are able to update our marketing messages on these screens almost instantly. Pros The software is super easy to use once you understand all of the functionality. Being able to deploy a playlist to multiple units at the same time is a huge plus. Also being able to instantly see the status of each player really helps us as our units are located across the US from coast to coast. Cons Updating playlists can be a little tricky at times. March 22, 2019 4.0 I have had a great experience thus far, customer service has been great from day 1. I had a software issue with one of my players and they swapped it out with a new one is a couple of days. Pros If you are proficient at using powerpoint, you can make really nice slides. Also, it integrates very nicely with google docs, sheets, and slides. Great variety of templates to use as well. Cons The only thing I would suggest is for the program to display the slides scheduled, only for the time they are scheduled. I had 5 slides of 10 seconds each scheduled in the system but for different days (one slide for each day), so it should have displayed whatever slide was scheduled for that day for 10 seconds per cycle, but did so for 50 seconds. We were able to keep slides and schedule them pretty easily Cons No choice of fonts, text color, and few choices of text size . updating menu on the fly is difficult, waiting 5 minutes or more for a system refresh. Seems like a lot of extra steps involved. All we want to do is write a menu for the day and post it. IT Manager Used the software for: ### "Good value, good product, great service" February 16, 2016 4.0 We recently switched to TruDigital after being slightly burned by a different digital signage company. We manage several auto dealerships, a hotel and a restaurant, so finding a software platform that allows cross promotion between different locations, as well as different business types was important. After sitting through a live demo with Jake from the TruDigital sales team, I was able to make an educated decision. The demo was one on one, with no pressure, and was scheduled when it was convenient for my schedule. The required player hardware seems robust enough to handle just about anything I want to load it with, and was reasonably priced. The software is easy to navigate, and the templates that TruDigital has for use are simple enough to edit. Since everything is based on their website, I can make basic changes to playlists and images from any computer I happen to be near. I have even made a few tweaks from my smartphone. I am not a graphic artist by any stretch of the imagination, so when I am adding my own images for slide shows from PowerPoint, or a PDF, they can appear a little grainy in resolution on larger presentation screens. However, this only seems to occur when using a full screen slide presentation on a 60" screen. When a slide show is merged with one of TruDigitals 'corkboard' style templates, the images are very clear. I have had some issues with playing certain video streams from YouTube or MP4. On occasion, the player just simply won't play the video. I have reported this to the TruDigital customer service group, and they pointed me in the right direction of proper video conversion. Speaking of customer service...these guys are great. If you have an issue, they will work with you on getting it fixed. If you have a question, someone will get back to you promptly. If you forget how to change something on your play list, you can watch one of their many tutorials, or submit a help ticket, and they will get back to you quickly. Overall, I am very pleased to be working with TruDigital. They continue to roll out helpful new features, and slick new templates on a regular basis. Pros The ability to update online is helpful. They have lots of widgets, which we never really took advantage of, other than the weather. Cons The players would often be out of sync so that the weather was clearly out of date. The software on the players was cumbersome. The cost per player per month was not worth it for our purposes. We simply needed to display a slideshow of announcements. Reason for choosing truDigital I dropped truDigital Signage. Monthly fees for the players was too much for what we need it to do. Our needs were to simply to update and display a powerpoint slide for announcements. Once the playlists are organized and the basics of how the templates work are learned, it is easy to start creating and thinking outside of the box to customize templates to your needs. Pros The integrations are useful. We have enough options to display the information we need to share, and we can do it in creative ways. I use "Full Screen Slideshow" the most because I can design my images and then just insert them as slides. I'm looking forward to playing with the "Full Screen Video". It's great that the full 1080 p functionality can be utilized. The help chat is an excellent feature. I always get the answers I need in a short time. Cons Some of the templates don't exactly work for what we need. For example, anything that uses an RSS feed either doesn't display enough characters to be useful, or scrolls too fast. The calendar integration has a learning curve since it has to be written in xml. We use it to show events in the room that the tv is in front of. For the larger monitors, we would like to show events throughout the building, but there is no space for the room name to be displayed. On some templates there is a spot for a logo, but it is too small and can't be customized. Overall, it's the little details that often don't work for us. For us there is another digital signage company that is rapidly expanding in our field of EMS that we might have to look at switching to just because of the integrations that have built that fits our needs better. I reached out about having a random slide generator built that can house hundreds of slides that just don't repeat the same slide over and over for hours of the important stuff that needs to be displayed but rather grabs a random slide for that time selected. Everyone now has the ability to get updates in a centralized location without having to hunt someone down to ask a question. We scroll reminders across the screen to keep employees informed. It is a great product and I am very pleased with the sales and support staff. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone looking for digital signage. It is well worth the investment. The owner has learned how to use the software and now thoroughly relies on it . It looks professional to prospective customers and does allow a lot of flexibility on the look and feel of the content being presented. The template library is very comprehensive and gives the user multiple options to suit their needs. Pros A Picture is worth a thousand words. This program gives our catering hall the ability to sell 24/7 . It provides patrons with valuable information in terms of services and event locations as well as the ability to market other products and services. Cons The whole calculating the amount of seconds that a template stays up and the switching between events. The text and screen background for slides does take some graphic knowledge and for the inexperienced can be a very confusing . The online interface could be better and there could be more customizations and better templates, but it does work and we are able to push out the content we need. In short, the end users get to see the information which makes it a win even though the overall product needs some polish. Pros I like that I can control multiple devices with one setup rather than having to program each device separately. Cons The templates they have are rudimentary at best and do not allow for a lot of customization. We have been creating and customizing our content in another service prior to uploading to truDigital. The majority of their templates look like they belong in 2005 and do not always work as expected. Also, it is annoying that you have to wait for the device to refresh every 10 minutes or so to get any newly published data. It would be better if there was just a button that you could push that would then publish your new data.
