“Saves me time and money”

OverallOverall I feel that this is one of the best things that I have done for my business. Attendance reports are easy to view and print off, I can easily access and share menus, calendars, messages, and alerts. I can't imagine ever going back to the way that I used to do things.
ProsI absolutely love this program. I went from taking hours filling out reports to just minutes. It has greatly increased the communication between myself and the parents of children in care. I also feel that it looks much more professional than hastily scribbled notes passed on to parents at the end of the day.
ConsPrice was a big obstacle for me. Having to pay in advance rather than monthly meant I had to rearrange finances to make things work and I know that this is a major issue when I reccomend this program to others.

“ Communication Breakthrough! ”

OverallOur survey data from families has always focused on the lack of communication about centre happenings...not any more....since we have HiMama communication is no longer an issue. HiMama is organized, centered around the Continuum of Development which makes child observations and documentation easy - the pie graphs add a visual dimension to the app which allows staff at a glance to see which domains need addressing by staff. As a manger the weekly report confirm that the communication is happening within the centre, families are receiving their observations and families are engaged and checking items sent.
ProsThe software allows me to see at any given time child enrollment numbers, child observation data and ongoing communication with child care families. Families are purchasing a child care service on behalf of their children therefore the parents do not experience the full service directly...their children do. HiMama allows me to have connect/communicate with parents in real time keeping them up to date on centre happenings and sharing resources. This has always been the hardest part of the child care and HiMama bridges that communication gap on a daily basis.

“Himama at Heatherwood ”

OverallWe have had a great experience, and feel like there have been regular updates that make the program better. The technical support is amazing and we were able to help push through the "parent sign in" feature that supported us through changing state regulations.
ProsCommunicates between signing in and classroom tablets, the app is great for parents, easy to do number checks for classrooms and to have kids "visit" classrooms when condensing at end of night.

“Great app to have ”

OverallThis app has improved our communication with our parents/guardians. It has saved a lot of administration time in keeping track of children's hours, staff hours and communicating to parents regarding their child's progress, needs, and programming. Parents are feeling more connected with what is going on in their child's learning and development. Parents and extended family members enjoy the photo journal updates. I always feel like HiMama are listening to their members as they are always implementing new features and improvements to their app.
ProsThe versatility of the HiMama tools and how it helped us with record keeping and connecting with the parents, staff and children with their progress and developmental needs. It has helped tremendously on lessen administration time with invoicing, attendance record, and staff time records. It also have features such as the meal calendar, event calendar and programming chart allowing more connection with the parents and staff.
ConsWe wish there was like a parents chat group that could be developed within the app. I know there is probably a video teaching parents how to use the app but I would say a high percentage of parents do not realize the capability/features of the app. For example, we had a parent who thought if she commented on a picture it was going to mass produce to everyone in the daycare. I guess there should be more incentive in learning about the features of the app.

“Very Satisfied With HiMama”

ProsI love the interactions we can have with parents. As a parent who has children in a centre that uses HiMama I love learning about my children's day and see what they have been up to. As a coordinator I love that we are able to show parents what is going on how and show how their child(ren) are/is learning.
ConsThere isn't any huge issues. Sometimes I wish we could save items in the app and send them when we are in wifi. Sometimes things aren't sent because of internet services so that's on our internet not the software.

“Easy Great App”

OverallI've enjoyed the available updates and being able to have something available to me that allows me to plan for my child. As a parent, its nice to know that its already written down and available to you at any time vs having to remember information when you get home from daycare like "did she poop today?", "when was her last bottle/diaper change/nap?"
ProsHiMama allows you to see what and when your child has been up to all day - diapers, meals, and naps are so important to helping keep an infant on schedule and HiMama does a great job. Plus we get to see pictures posted of our little one throughout the day! I appreciate having the reports at the end of each day that tell me if we're low on supplies and just generally how her day was.
ConsI don't see her activities (tummy time, play time) and I'm not sure that's an option as part of this app (I also don't know if its already available). It would also be nice to know her mood throughout the day (happy, crying, just fine) so I know how my kid is going to be when I'm going to get her...or if I should try and get her a little early if she's had a tough day. These things are not obviously life changing as I already get the most important information already through the app.

“Game changer for our Child Care!”

OverallThe Sales team and customer service are AWESOME! My sales rep still checks in to make make sure we do not need anything. The webinars and help center are so in depth and helpful! They have Educators on staff to make sure it is teacher friendly! I think that in itself speaks very highly for the company!
ProsHi Mama is very easy to learn and train staff on. It is set up so our teachers and staff are saving time in entering information and using their time to be with the children! Their messaging system is easy to use and very fast! We were able to both text and email parents when snow hit and we needed to close early. Our Parent and Teacher communication have grown considerably!
ConsThere are a few options we really need like CACFP collecting. As a child care using the Food Program it would save me a ton of time weekly by having a printable report. I also really do not like the check in process. It is a list of names which is a problem for some parents. We have a group of Foster children that should not be on a list seen by everyone so we are currently not able to use this function. I really wish they would let parents enter a 4 digit code and check in all their children at one time. This would also allow security and no list to scroll through!

“We could not be happier!”

OverallWe have been using Himama for over a year we could not be happier! Parents love the value and the extra channel of communication that they get with the easy with the ability to send messages directly to the classroom teacher. My teachers are able to send pictures, videos and update parents on how their child is doing. Over all this application was one of the best investments we made at our Daycare, and I can truly say that no other app compares to Himama.
Proshow easy it is to use it and how fast my teachers can input the child's information thought the day
Consthere are a couple of options that I wish could be a little easier, which i have noted on the advice box.
Recommendations to other buyersI wish that to change classroom i didn't have to do so many steps. I liked it how before I was just able to change the classroom without having to go through the whole graduate them and then having to create another classroom. Also I wish that I could have the ability to update the parent's email when and if they change emails. Most of them have come to me to help them change it and since I'm not able to I have to tell them to call Himama customer support or go in their app. Is more a convenience factor and the ability to resolve my client's issues that I wish i could update basic information like that.

“Thank You HiMama”

OverallHiMama has been very well received at all three of my Little Sprouts Learning Centers. Parents are thrilled to see their children interacting in class and feel reassured to see their child settled into the program just minutes after leaving the classroom. This was especially appreciated by our new parents, as well as parents whose children were starting school for the first time. Prior to HiMama, families received a monthly newsletter with photos, information on our monthly theme, reminders, birthdays and important upcoming dates. Now with a click of a button, the classroom teacher can send this information to parents anytime. The ability to keep updates current has helped parents ensure they are not missing important news, are less likely to forget upcoming events, and also allows them extra time to plan and prepare. Parents find the program extremely handy as they can speak directly to the teacher through the HiMama message system. Often times moms and dads are on the run and not always able to chat during drop off and pick up, or throughout the day. HiMama keeps everyone connected, by allowing parents to send a quick message to the classroom teacher at their convenience. Customer service at HiMama is very good and parents have found Caroline very efficient and helpful should they come across any issues. As the owner of Little Sprouts I feel the overall customer service has been excellent right from the beginning, and appreciate Ron's support in setting the system up with me back in February 2014. Areas I would like to see improved would be to have the option to send a message to a specific group of families. Currently the options are one family or the entire classroom. I would also like the option to put music to the photos so that a DVD could be created of the child's school year. Access to all the school photos would be a wonderful option as currently we have to go into each child's report to see the entire group of class photos. Although the classroom journal does show a few pictures, I would like to be able to see all of these photos as a running stream. Thank you to Ron and the staff at HiMama! You have made a wonderful difference to the parents and families at Little Sprouts, and I can't thank you enough!

“Why Hi Mama works for our preschool and families”

ProsThe details and ability to click without having to write everything in detail.
ConsI wish I could click the names of kids under fluids or toilet, for example, and add the times and detail for each right at that moment without having to upload each entry one at a time. For example, if it is 2pm and we have not had the chance to enter two feedings and three diaper changes for 11 kids, it would be quicker if we could click on the item like toilet then click on the child, then add all three times in, rather than one at a time....it would be faster for the user.

“User Friendly”

OverallWe have been extremely satisfied with HiMama. I looked at a few other items out there and none compare to what they offer and the ease at which they deliver the end product.
ProsExtremely easy to use from our assistants in the classroom to our parents downloading the apps to their phones. Our parents love this application. I love several things about it! Saving trees is a great one, but also the great ease of use. The parents get great detailed information daily about the children's daily activities. It is a great asset for our team and moves away from paper work. The other thing is that as an administrator I can see who is present and how things are going just by pulling up that class online. It is a great tool!!

“Teacher/Family Communication at your fingertips”

OverallOur families love that we offer this app. They love that they can send a message from home without disrupting the child's day or pulling the teacher away from teaching. They love the updates and photo shares as well.
ProsWe love the ease of use with this product. It helps parents and teachers communicate back and forth with the convenience of their phone or classroom tablets. As an admin I can also communicate with parents individually or as a who center which is AMAZING. We love to share little updates like photos, diaper changes, nap times, or milestones via the app with our families.
ConsOnly able to send one photo at a time to families. We wish we could send 2-5 at a time.

“Easy Peasy ”

OverallLove the app both parents and staff are very satisfied.
ProsLOVE that the parents are able to see what is happening through out the day as well as at the end of a day receive a report. This cuts down on the time parents stand around talking and then details are also not left out.
ConsCan't search old messages. If you are looking back at previous messages you have go back through all the messages you are unable to search a persons name.

“HiMama app”

OverallBenefits as a parent are stated in the Pros section above but mostly, it's having a consistent and electronic log of the days for reference (and for enjoyment with pics).
ProsI liked that we are able to receive updates throughout the day (there is the capability but teachers don't always use it) and mostly the pictures/videos! It makes you feel like you know what is really happening during the day. I also like that there is an electronic journal that you can refer back to at any time. I also like the ease of being able to communicate to the teachers through the app and that administration is able to see any of that back and forth.
ConsThe pictures and videos were blurry, especially when downloading. Also not sure if the videos are limited to :06 or that's just what the teachers did. I also think that the auto-population for food makes it less likely that the teachers actually update appropriately.

“Best reporting system.out there!”

OverallWe tried many other reporting systems for our school to severyone and communicate with our parents but Hi Mama has been hands down our favorite and our parents love it! As a director/owner of my childcare center my personal.favorite feature is that our super odors can review each entry for each student on reports overview and see if there are excited tries missing before the report get sent out to parents. We love using the observations tools to attach skills observed to pics and videos of students to help parents know more about their child's day and what they are learning. We also use the notes section for reminders and to list a few of our Learning skills from the Daily lesson plan to keep parents informed about what lessons were taught. We love Hi Mama and we would highly recommend this to you!

“Hi Mamma! How are ya? ”

OverallHaving an effective childcare management system to keep records, record payments, capture the lives of children & teachers have been a blessing and especially beneficial to anyone involved in childcare centers. This is the best thing since sliced bread.
ProsThis software makes life in childcare centers so much easier and efficient. This software makes the lives of teachers and administrative staff EASY while trying to capture day to day activities that children are involved in. What I like most about the software is that the activities are instantly recorded for parents to share in the experience of their little ones.
ConsThe software is kind of expensive and took a while to really perfect use of it. If you're really going to get more bang for your buck, you have got to do a good job at keeping really good records. If you don't put your data into the system, you're subject to miss something.

OverallTheir were issues of not finding all the domains pertaining to school age children
ProsAble to communicate, upload and share images with families. Makes observations simple and quick to complete, especially when it's the same comments for multiple children. Administration can easily access and monitor all rooms and all communication Easily and efficiently.
ConsUsing it for staffing hours was a challenge since it records real time and it was dependent on the administrator to edit changes only and I found I had to verify staffing hours daily. Children's attendance- ministry still wants to see hard copy and printing the attendance from HiMama would be too many pages since record shows all the check in and out times daily.

“Time saver ”

OverallWe are so happy with Himama, it saves us all time and keep everything in one place. The parents LOVE the program.
ProsEverything is in one place! The parents love the daily reports and the photos of the child's day and classroom activities. The menu and lesson plans are easy to view. The staff have more time is spend with the children because, everything is in one place. They are able to put the class lesson plans and calendar into Himama as well as keeping up with developmental skills of each child. The directors are able to find enrollment, attendance of the children and staff in one place.

“Great for keeping track of children But”

OverallFamilies seem to love the communication with the center through this app. They love seeing the pictures of their children during the day. The message part of the app is frustrating though as described above.
ProsGreat for keeping counts of children and in which classroom they are participating.
ConsThe message portion of the app needs help. It would be helpful to be able to search for all messages with a particular child's family. And, if responses to emails could be posted to the top based on when they were sent. Also, the view of a sent email with an attachment does not contain the attachment. That is a problem when using this for documentation of communications. Having a count of the total children enrolled would be nice too.

“Happy with product”

“Lucky Mom”

ProsI love getting to feel like I have an inside scoop to my little guy's day - menu, diaper changes, naps, and photos of play. I have some friends whose daycares use a log book, but I get to catch this info in real time from my phone at work and don't have to wait until pickup to hear about it. Honestly, it was a huge factor in keeping me going through the emotional trial of going back to work and leaving him at a full time centre.
ConsIt does this weird thing where you can't enlarge a picture once you click on it (phone version). I had some trouble in the beginning as software was being updated too, missing emails etc. but the support staff was surprisingly responsive and most of the problems were alleviated by just keeping the app on my phone and not relying on the email service.

“Wonderful tool”

OverallOur parents are so well informed of the process of education and how our program is trying to lead our town in early education.
ProsThe program helps to narrow the focus of the directors daily expectations for the teachers to implement and educating the parents on achievements of our program. The photo sharing is wonderful and the access to constant communication for the parents is a must in the digital day!

ProsIt is easy to understand and use. They are constantly updating the features to make them better. The app works well on a variety of devices and the software is also quite visually bright and engaging. The customer support is wonderful, they always get back to you quickly and with comprehensive answers.
ConsIf we had to pick one thing, it would be the reset time for the classes. Sometimes if children are signed out and reports sent late in the day, the next morning the class still isn't reset to start over, and then we have to manually check students back in.

“Glad we have it.”

ProsWhen we first signed up, we received an update/summary at the end of each day for our children. If teachers had a question or a note to send home, they could do so through this program and those notifications showed up in an email. Now that I have the HiMama app on my smart phone, I enjoy it even more because I receive updates throughout the day about my children. Using the app or simply logging into the website, you have the option to also message your child's teachers throughout the day. This program, whether you have the app on your phone or not, is a great way to stay connected while you are away from your child.
ConsIt takes time to learn how to navigate the site. Otherwise, no complaints as of yet.

“Love Love Hi Mama ”

OverallWith our Preschool using Hi Mama it has cut down on our printing bill, and increased our enrollment with students. Parents tell us they LOVE that they can look at the app while at work instead of waiting til the end of the day to see how their student day was!!

“Peace of mind for parents and providers”

OverallWe needed a way to effectively communicate with parents in real time. We didn't want to wait to give parents updates at the end of the day or to send pictures via personal cell phones. HiMama has solved all of those problems and has allowed us to be paper free.
ProsIt allows direct communication with parents at all points of the day. Not only does it allow us to send updates about points of care throughout the day but it allows us to send photos and sweet notes as well. Our parents and staff value this tool highly.
ConsIt can occasionally glitch or not load properly for a bit. I don't know of any app/software/website that this doesn't happen to though.

“Great app for childcare providers ”

OverallHiMama makes entering data very easy and you can always go back and review old data
ProsI used HiMama when I worked in a daycare it helps to keep documentation on the kids day as you go. Diaper change times, eating times nap times and lengths these updates are sent in real time to parents so they know what's going on as it happens. I absolutely love HiMama & feel every day are provider should use this app.
ConsI personally have never experienced any problems while using the HiMama app so in my options there are no cons.

“Save Precious Time with Himama”

OverallI love being able to check that my staff is completing their health checks and filling out their paperwork correctly. It makes supervision easier because everyone is more likely to fill everything out completely and with the design of the software, being concise is easy. My parents love it! They love the pictures and videos most but most find the food tracking very helpful.
ProsMy favorite component is having copies of past documents at your fingertips. There is no more searching for the daily sheet or roster in the dumpster! It's all always just right there!
ConsI wish it could be used even if the internet goes down. I get cranky when we have to go back to paper.

“HiMama Review”

OverallThis app helps with the record keeping of the child's day (which is a requirement), saves papers and searching for the papers to update them. It can be updated from any tablet.
ProsGood support and beginning training from the company. Inexpensive tablets can be purchased to start up in center. Easy to use and keep parents informed of their child's day. Great for sending photos of the child especially to give new parent's peace of mind of their child's first day in childcare. Parents can share with app with grandparents and other family members so they can see the child's development. App can be downloaded on phone instead of a tablet.
ConsThe inexpensive tablet cannot easily put the photos in the HiMama app.

“HiMama gives me peace of mind”

ProsI love that I can stay up to date on my daughter when she's at school during the day. From what, when and how much she eats to the activities she does throughout the day, I feel like I'm in the know from the moment I drop her off to the time I pick her up at the end of the day. I especially love that her teachers can send us photos and videos so we can actually see her in real time. As a working mom, I can't praise this app enough for giving me peace of mind.
ConsI have no cons. This app has been such a blessing for us. I have other friends that get written reports at the of the day - I can't imagine having to wait all day for these kinds of updates.

“My review”

OverallThe educators are using less time documenting. They are actually documenting more however using less time. Himama makes it so easy to do this. I also love the print outs of sleep checks and schedules. really cool.
Prosi love that parents contact me or stop me in the hallways and tell me how great it is that they have such good communication with their child's teacher!
ConsThe glitches. i also think that the extra package to keep track of employees time etc should be included in the price tag

“My wish-list with HiMama ”

ProsI love how easy is to navigate. The app almost talks to you and guides you when you are a first time user. It is very practical.
ConsI wish HiMama would allow daycare centers to create and customize the online forms to helps us with the enrollment process of children in the centre. HiMama is always advising centres to get all automatize and to create temples, but I wish they could provide that of us because at the end of the day I am not a super Hitech person. I wish HiMama would help us more in the intake of a family into the centre.

“Nice app to keep track of your child's day”

ProsI like that we get the daily updates, it shows usually a picture of the child doing the activity, and then what they did that day, and what they ate and how long they napped for, etc.
ConsI know times are busy for the daycare staff, so not always can they put an update on the app. but I guess the con is, if i make a comment on in the app, i don't get notified if the comment was sent to my child... it would be nice to maybe know that the comment i made about a picture or something was relayed to the child.

“very user friendly”

ProsI like the way i can give access to different personals and different rights to different persons. I can see what my son is doing whole day with continuous updates of photo/video. I can message his care provider and get message from his care provider. Any other updates related to him is centered at one place. I don't need to dig/search my email box for any updates from his care provider.
ConsI didn't explore this app too much so I am not sure if this feature is already present. I would like to categorize notifications. I don't like to get all notification for his regular photo/video upload. but on the other hand I would like to receive notification for critical information. for e.g. information for some upcoming event, child sickness etc. so if I turn off notification from app I dont get any notification.

“Overall, a good software and love that I can get the daily reports for my kids electronically.”

OverallPros - getting pictures of the daily activities, knowing what my kids eat in a day and how much and what was offered even if they didn't eat it. Being notified if diapers/wipes, etc are needed, however a couple days notice of "running low" might be good as I sometimes forget to bring the item on the following day care day, especially if it's over a weekend. I do love the emails that we receive through the app regarding things going on at the centre. It is so much better than either word of mouth or having to locate the information on a bulletin board or something like that. Cons - some of the teachers are not as thorough as others with providing details of the day. I never receive pictures of one of my sons in the preschool room but I receive a lot of my other son in the toddler room (which I like to receive the pictures). It might be good to list if there was a incident in the app as well, instead of finding out about it when we pick up our kids and then having to sign the report at that time. Maybe there is a way to use electronic signature/response with the incident reports. Have the report in the daily report for the kids and then the parents have to click on a button within the incident report to acknowledge that they are aware of the incident and the measures taken to make it better (just like the paper copies). That would also lessen the burden of the teachers at the end of the day (when it's crazy busy) to have to get a parent to read and sign the incident report. I understand that parents might not respond to the report in the app. If that's the case, if the app is 2-way (as in the teacher can see that the parent has either responded or not by the time they pick up their kids) then the teacher can have the parent read the report at the time of pick up.

“Great preface, rough interface ”

“Worth the cost”

OverallIt keeps the educators accountable and motivates them to complete frequent documentation. It also allows for that extra element of trust between families and educators and the parents can see all the hard work and amazing activities the educators are providing throughout the day
ProsCreating in depth daily reports are done so easily with this app - it doesn't take the educator's time away from the children or take away from their planning time.
ConsIt does take a large chuck of our budget, but I feel it is worth it.

“I really enjoy the app, as an educator and a parent! ”

ProsI love knowing what my child is doing each day at school. As a teacher, it's an amazing way to get the parents involved and communicate with them regularly. It's fairly is to train co-workers with the system depending on device and their level of comfort and knowledge while using technology.
ConsI don't like that I can't get the tutorial videos to go away, even after watching them. I don't like how the system works with Samsung devices via the app or browser.

“HiMama”

OverallI looked into several different apps. and chose Hi Mama. Hi Mama had the best overall features I was looking for. I wanted to be able to track and assess the children growth/ progress. I wanted a quicker and better way to communicate with our parents and give them a way to see their child's day. Plus I had a couple teachers that struggled with implementing the foundations. I got that and so much more with Hi Mama.
ProsEasy to use Adds Foundations Parent communication tool and parents can see their child's day. Great tool for teachers to record the day, use for conferences, and for portfolios
ConsIt was expensive for a small center like ours and we still would love to use more of the features that Hi Mama has to offer us, but we just cannot afford it.

“Hi Mama”

ProsMy daughters daycare uses Hi Mama. We love seeing all of the pictures that are added, milestones, as well as what she eats throughout the day, and how much. As a parent, we often worry if they're eating enough while were not around or what they are up to. This helps us see the activities and meals throughout the day. We also like seeing how often she has been changed so that we can be on the same page as the daycare in terms of knowing wet diapers etc.
ConsAt times, it is slow in sending notifications through email. I also wish that the app had some kind of Icon on it to know that there were new items added because sometimes I miss the notification the app sends and I dont see anything on the App Icon itself. These are minor things that could be improved.

“Awesome Communication Tool”

OverallI have been using HiMama as a parent for over a year through my childcare provider. It is an amazing tool to track the daily activities of my child, including her meals and snacks, bathroom routines and naps, and her ongoing learning and activities. The use of pictures and videos with the descriptions is really awesome. The layout of information, whether through the app or website, is also easy to follow. I am a huge fan!
ProsI love the ease-of-access through the website and the app. HiMama allows me to remain in contact with my childcare provider and easily see/view activities throughout the day.
ConsSometimes the app randomly signs me out, which can be a bit annoying, so I have to wait for the end-of-day report to arrive.

“Best technology move ever!”

OverallThe HI MAMA app has not only enabled our families to see what their child is doing each day, it has allowed our educators to have MORE hands on time with the children! The app is so quick and easy to fill out; it is much preferred to written daily reports. It meets our Quality Assurance measures, makes families happier (as they can see their child busy with happy faces) and allows me as Supervisor to see at a glance who is in, what reports are done, and keep track of the families using it and checking in! By far, the easiest and best piece of technology we have invested in!!
Prosease of use, families see what their child is doing daily, allows us to enter development goals, menus etc.
ConsAlthough there are improvements daily, there is still some things we would appreciate being added

“Great for Childcare Centers!”

OverallWe are a coworking space that offers childcare and looked into HiMama to handle the administration and billing for parents and kids. HiMama really worked for us in terms of tracking, child management and workflow,. We needed more member/coworking management software integration to really make it work.
ProsIt solved problems before they even came up. Allergy reports, birthday tracking, etc were all super helpful.
ConsThe inability to invoice *before* the 1st of the month and have payment due the 1st of the month.

“HiMama is the best app !”

OverallI have used HiMama while working as a General Manager at my previous work and I have truly enjoyed using it and connecting with the families on a whole new level. This is the reason why I promote in using app with my current work place. The families and staff are loving it !
Pros- live photo for parents/ families - communicating with families on a deeper level - making parents life easier - great tracking system for staff versus using pen and paper
Cons- too many features on the portal and it could be quite overwhelming for staff (especially non tech savvy staff). If the admin can adjust what function is available for the program to use, that would be fantastic. - "development domain" drop down box is too small to view the whole phrases

“Easy to navigate, clear user interface”

ProsThe push notifications for updates are great. It's great getting updates throughout the day, and a report at the end detailing the activities. It doesn't have notifications for when another parent sends a message via their version of the app, but ideally that coordination happens IRL. I can see how that would be redundant otherwise.
ConsThe older version seemed a bit more clunky. No issues with the current version.
