Pros The application features were easy for my staff to comprehend and use throughout the day. This was something the felt comfortable with. Cons The customer service and billing was terrible. My business didn’t feel valued when they made mistakes. It took a months to fix including receiving money that was owed to me. It has dedicated sections for daily photos, nap time, and meal updates. From what I’ve heard, it’s also user-friendly for educators. It was a good first experience, but as we began to grow, we wanted a tool that was a bit more buttoned up as we sought certification for the Academy. Pros Lillio made it easy for our staff to log activities for each child, helping our moms know what their children were doing and how they were growing each day. Cons Lillio's UI was ok, but not the best. It was certainly better than some of the other tools we looked at, but we wanted the most intuitive interface for our staff who in this role are a bit technically novice and for our moms, many of whom grapple with technology as well. We also navigated issues with keeping our contacts up to date. We live primarily in Salesforce and got to a point where we needed to do weekly imports and updates and it was not particularly easy with HiMama. It works very well for small businesses also. The reports I am able to generate helps me with making financial decisions. It is also very easy to use, so you do not have to be tech savvy. Pros I love that I can very detailed report about my cash flow very easily and the way the graphical representation is presented is very nice. The messaging section to interact with the teacher for status and interactions is a cool thing. The application is easy to use and self explanatory and very intuitive. Cons The message notifications sync is delayed at times and will receive the messages off late. It makes it easy to communicate and receive notifications from our dayhome, and also gives me peace of mind that my children are being taken care of. Pros I like that I quickly receive information about my child at daycare, and have a simple way to communicate with the caregiver. Cons The app is quite slow to load, especially when viewing video files that have been posted. Having multiple children at a location is also more difficult to manage than it needs to be. Like sharing a list of names and when you click on it it expands to details. This way it would be easier to find a report you're looking for quickly and I believe it's a better user experience. Pros When we can't be there, HiMama helps us stay connected to our kiddos' lives while they're at daycare. It's hard to be away from them and HiMama fills that void of "not knowing" very successfully; so thankful for it! It’s a wonderful way to stay connected with our children and see what they’re up to each day. Pros Seeing photos and videos of what my child is up to throughout the day is my favourite part of the app (especially during the pandemic where participating in their class activities is currently restricted as a precaution). The updates help me feel connected to my daughter while I’m at work. We love looking at the pictures together after she gets home and she’ll tell me all about the activities from the day. Cons I would love the ability to connect with the parents of other children in my child’s class so we could arrange play dates. Even when things go not as planned and children need to stay home hi mama has whats called "distance learning " i believe .. .i have unfortunately needed to use this more then i would like but life happens and im just glad that ' hi mama' is always there to help me conect with the child even when not able to join class Cons i really dont think that i had any cons, the price was right, they offered a free trail, as well as many different budget friendly options, its built with everyone in mind.. staff, parents and even the children themself. I was less impressed with the services and the tech support with those. Himama seems to be the only program with a balance of family/teacher communication and administration aspects without buying each segment separately. As a teacher AND administrator I see both sides of that and as a small private Early Childhood center I need an affordable system. And now with the Ounce package added on, we can save time, paper and trouble proving that we track individual development as well. But the best thing about Himama are the customer support and tech teams. Pros Actually the best thing about Himama is the responsiveness of the tech team behind the platform. I have submitted many ideas to improve the service, to assist us in billing, tracking regulated events and ease of recording and reporting information. Every time I received a quick and personal response to clarify my needs. Most of those ideas have been added over the last year to the service even though they all involved remodeling the categories in which they fit. The consistent movement to meet subscriber's needs is impressive to me. Cons There are still improvements to ease the need to record and report things like fire drills, but I believe they are working on it. I would also like to be able to add my own developmental categories. Reason for choosing Lillio Trial and error. If I had not liked it, I would have dropped it. " August 27, 2019 5.0 Our survey data from families has always focused on the lack of communication about centre happenings...not any more....since we have HiMama communication is no longer an issue. HiMama is organized, centered around the Continuum of Development which makes child observations and documentation easy - the pie graphs add a visual dimension to the app which allows staff at a glance to see which domains need addressing by staff. As a manger the weekly report confirm that the communication is happening within the centre, families are receiving their observations and families are engaged and checking items sent. Pros The software allows me to see at any given time child enrollment numbers, child observation data and ongoing communication with child care families. Families are purchasing a child care service on behalf of their children therefore the parents do not experience the full service directly...their children do. HiMama allows me to have connect/communicate with parents in real time keeping them up to date on centre happenings and sharing resources. This has always been the hardest part of the child care and HiMama bridges that communication gap on a daily basis. Cons A lot of American content......need more Canadian content. Reason for choosing Lillio HiMama had the Continuum of Development build in which made things easy and efficient for staff compiling/sharing reports with families and the app fulfilled our need to solidify great communication with our families.
