No coding knowledge is necessary but customizing the site is definitely possible with Css and HTML. This is the 4th website company I have used since I've been in business (10 years). With all other companies I had to email them with changes and then depend on them getting done correctly. It was not an ideal set up and was more expensive. However, the software was more complicated than my non-techy brain could handle. Changing to SportsEngine was one of the best decisions I have made. I can quickly make the changes as needed, and I didn't need to be a computer programmer to learn how. Pros This software did not take long to learn, especially with the assistance of the company. I love that it only takes me a few minutes to update information and replace pictures. Cons I haven't found anything I didn't like. Review Source RP Ryan P. I would not recommend it for facilities, but for leagues it does a wonderful job. Pros I love all the features that the software has. From team roster building, to scheduling, to stats input etc. It has so many great features. Also has a wonderful user interface that my coaches and parents are able to easily use to navigate through the site. Cons Currently, Powerpay is a tool utilized for non-recurring invoices like tournament fees, jersey reorders, etc and it does not allow the payments to be designated to the specific team account - Powerpay collections go into one main account. I am hoping it gets better and easier. Pros It is very sharp looking, and it makes taking payments for registrations easy. It also allows us to set up teams easily. Cons There is a fairly large learning curve with little to no support. We email and call, and we rarely get a response in a timely manner. Pros Help desk tutorials so you can be self sufficient. Fee collection is HUGE for volunteer organizations....so the multiple options of installments, customizations, and billing are amazingly helpful....especially as businesses are moving away from taking checks. Our club was literally in the red until we got SportsEngine to help us collect fees properly, communicate, and promote. ALSO now HUGE is that our main league can send the game schedule directly to our website! ALL on same platform now and gigantic time saver! Cons I have seen the availability of immediate support diminish.... Support is GREAT but reaching someone quickly, as a volunteer like myself, is important. While the value for money is fair overall, the user interface and capabilities of the software can be upgraded. The registration forms, and how they can be structured. The service team is very friendly and respond swiftly. Overall very positive experience here. Pros Very easy to use with a simple user interface. Allows you to create simple web designs that will create websites to display all the information you desire. Simply dragging content around the page etc. really allows for easy usage. Cons The page completely refreshes almost every time you add any time of element, which in total can create annoying waiting times after every small change. I have been with them since 2012 and I see improvements being made that are beneficial to the teams. From day one this was so simple and straightforward. I can't imagine a better system. And when they told me the price I just about fell out of my seat. I don't know how they can offer such a robust platform and service at these dirt cheap prices. A near-perfect experience. Pros It is so simple to use. The customer service is amazing and will get the framework of your site in place. From there, you just change the images and details, add a FB pixel, some Google Analytics, and you are ready for launch. Cons There are some slight limitations, such as not being able to integrate a custom domain (you have to use forwarding). Most of these limitations though are only on the admin side and if you ask customer service, they can make those changes on the developer side. Review Source BC Bryan C. Pros This software was the first step of my recruiting process in which my team set me up to use it. This was a way for our paperwork and all other things to be in one place. March 8, 2019 4.0 This is a great tool if your club or group can integrate with one of the many affiliations that SportsEngine has (such as US Club Soccer). Pros The best thing about SportsEngine is that they integrate directly with US Club soccer. For our club, this is a huge factor which allows our digital forms to be integrated directly with our affiliating body. This is a huge time saver for us. Their website editor is good (not great) and while we haven't used all the communication tools they do look very positive. Cons There are some real limitations with the website editor (can't use html code directly through the site, can't have hidden pages from your navigation), but overall it is a solid investment. Cons i actually do not have complaints about this software as i am just learning, the tutorials have helped so it is not intimidating by any means and the convenience of the on line chat is fantastic. Maybe I won't like the mobile version as sometimes apps do not have everything but honestly in a pinch i would use it but these old eyes prefer a bigger screen to work from. Review Source DB David B. Of course, it depends on coaches and managers actually using the tool to keep their team informed and up to date. I've yet to have it be used to it's fullness by a coach but can see how it would be amazing. It can host statistics, team practice schedule, chat between members, uploading pictures. It's ready to be maximized when you have the right people managing it. Cons Based on my experience, I'd say there isn't a good enough training mechanism in place. You need a top down approach to get the most out of this so a league director needs to train their coaches and managers on how to use it. Review Source TP Tom P. Pros I love how it is so easy to communicate to a whole group or team. It allows to have the team schedule and chat all in one place so there is less of a need for an email group in addition to this chat option. Cons The speed of the app is the biggest issue that I have. Switching from the schedule to the chat or even just checking into your team takes longer than expected. Review Source PR Paul R.
