Pros: Having working with various paid and free electronic health record services at various institutions, I came across Kareo while researching for my presentation on mobile technology, cloud computing, and medicine at a national medical conference. The features, intuitive interface, ease of use, and HTML5 programming, which allows cross-platform interface and real-time update speed was remarkable. I've seen institutions spend millions of dollars on electronic health record/ambulatory medical record systems for the physicians' offices. However, the amount of time it takes to get the staff trained, the monthly subscription fees, the lag time for the providers due to complexity of the systems, constant system crashes, and the need to do extensive programming for these paid systems make me wonder why nobody has come up with a free EHR/AMR system that has all the features needed for physicians and mid-level providers without all the hassles. Most EHR/AMR systems are user-friendly for the billers and clerical staff, but not intuitive or user-friendly for the clinic staff and providers. This is not the case with Kareo. Kareo is extremely easy to navigate for any physicians, midlevel providers, and clinic staff. They can get the system running with little or no training because the interface is extremely intuitive and simple with built-in and customizable templates that allow you and your staff to complete intake, history, physical, and charting in minutes. The system has all the features that meet Stage I and II CMS meaningful use and allow your practice to obtain the EHR bonus with ease. Most of all, it is built for both mobile and desktop platforms. My staff and I can access Kareo EHR system with our mobile phone, PDAs, iPads, and Google-based pads with ease. The integrated billing features and electronic prescription features, along with integration with various laboratory and diagnostic test centers make Kareo a complete EHR solution for small to mid-size practices. It is not easy to impress me, having built the entire IT infrastructure myself for my own practice and for several medical practices around the country. Kareo's cloud-based EHR system makes it easy for migration, conversion, and implementation, without having to upgrade to expensive server systems. Any office with a desktop and mobile device can get the system up and running within hours, not days or weeks or months. I am impressed and amazed with all the features within Kareo. I would recommend any office looking to migrate, to convert their existing costly EHR, or to migrate from paper charts to EHR should consider Kareo.

Cons: It needs a patient health record/portal and automatic appointment reminders to patients via text to mobile phones, e-mails, and letters.

Recommendations to other buyers: Sign up. Try to set up test patients and compare the difference.

Pros: As a billing company, woman and entrepreneur, I found myself fumbling with other software and working myself to death. Ask me about a software and I will tell you about it. With Kareo, I was able to drop all of my clients into one system at once. Set up was easy and painless and I was able to keep my promise that billing never stops and that made my clients happy. With Kareo EMR and PM accessibility, my billing company soon found itself able to add not only consulting, training and virtual front desk/scheduling capabilities, but we are now unveiling our Virtual IT Director department so that we are able to continue growing. All this could never have happened if Kareo was not introduced into my life.

Cons: Listen. There is always something you don't like about a software. There have been some, but they are so insignificant, that I am unable to recall any that have not been enhanced with a request. In fact, if there is a request that will work for the entire Kareo community, you are encouraged to provide that so that they can put it into the software. That is how versatile this company is. For a billing company, they are there to hear you and encourage you and help you grow. You cannot say that from any one else. You really cant. So, yeah, things I don't like, I voice and they fix.

Overall: My husband's words will be all I need to express: " OMG! I got my wife back!" Is that enough?

Pros: Kareo has everything any practice and/or speciality would need from an EHR / PM system. Kareo has a user-friendly scheduling platform that allows office staff to efficiently complete their duties. Our providers have had a positive experience with the clinical platform that allows them to e-prescribe, document effectively, as well as ensure compliance with CMS, MACRA, MIPS, etc. The billing platform is also easy to use, but what I like most is the reporting system. You can literally run a report for anything! Kareo rocks!

Cons: What is there not to like? Kareo is the only way to go! #teamkareo

Overall: We implemented Kareo into 3 of our behavioral health clinics a few years ago to get rid of paper charts and improve our collection processes. Not only were those 2 goals met, we have seen an increase in patient satisfaction, provider compliance with documentation, and our clinical processes have become streamlined. Kareo has benefited not only our business, but our patients which is our top priority.

Pros: I like the dashboard the most. It is easy to read and has a lot of information on each client as well as ability to schedule and take a payment. I also lov ed the drop downs for notes and SALT notes and SALT bills! Th hey save so much time.

Cons: Billing and notes are not well integrated. I cant keep track of clinician notes, and they keep messing up the bills because there is more than one way to do them and multiple ways to mess them up. It's made for doctors so I can't customize it for my practice. It doesnt include assessments and interventions, good diagnostic assessments, or integrated psychological assessments. I canxt control what forms my clinicians use, and am lost without medical biller. There isn't online signatures for forms either.

Overall: I love being almost paperless and appreciate being able to upload the papers we have.

Comments: Kareo is always trying to improve and they tell you their progress in that area and give routine updates. Kareo is mindful of billing requests and takes suggestions very seriously.

Pros: Kareo is the best software and most user friendly software I have ever used! One click later you can almost always find what you are looking for and the help you might need if you don't! It covers nearly every aspect of billing without being redundant or confusing. If you are just starting out this is the one to get, if you have been at this for a while then Kareo will cover all your bases at a pretty reasonable price.

Cons: The aspect I like least is the support HOWEVER; this has greatly improved since I started with Kareo about three years ago. I had to call support just last week and it could not have been better so I hold high hopes for this area!

I began to use this system with templates that I created. I have used different systems and found this feature to be difficult. I have designed my own website so I am not a stranger to template making tasks.

Comments: I appreciate the discount for e prescribing only. I am a single person office, pay for a schedule system that is excellent and allows the pt. to prepay, and tech support is five + stars.

Pros: I can e prescribe and this is a great time saver. However, I would like to more easily print scripts for controlled substances without using 1 sheet per script. I treat ADHD and my patients often require 6 scripts.I do not use the scheduler, notes, etc. Because I do not take insurance, it appears that the insurance features would be beneficial. I also like the ability to find diagnoses for ICDM-10 by referencing ICDM-9.

Cons: One must find the pharmacy in demographics so as not to waste time. Using the prescription generator oftentimes will display those applicable pharmacies as does the demographics page.

Comments: We selected Kareo to use right out of the gate for a veteran Doctor opening a start-up clinic with zero initial staff. Kareo training support during our initial phase was excellent, consistent, and readily available by phone and by online chat (a feature that we LOVE).

After the initial training phase, they have remained readily accessible, although due to the stability and ease of the product, we rarely need assistance even at the 9 months marker. As a consultant in billing and insurance for over 20 years, I have put it through the paces really hard, expecting optimal performance, and placing many demands on performance and accuracy that some might not.

Kareo has performed well while enabling me to easily train four new staff (who had no previous experience in the field) how to run the front office functions and even the initial entry of encounters for billing.

We like the security available to various levels of user profiles! Very helpful to include or exclude certain functions by employee. Another area we really use is the TASK function. With several employees, billing located in a different location, and all working different shifts, the task function is a huge plus for this software.

Kareo makes it easy to set up or switch and to comply with today's insurance, billing, and EHR regulations. An added bonus is that if we, or you, ever decide to outsource the billing portion, say, for instance, if you lost staff or just wanted to move billing out of the clinic, Kareo is positioned to immediately pickup and continue those functions seamlessly because of the cloud-based system. We particularly like the security of that backup plan.

We couldn't be more pleased on performance and ease of use. The highly competitive rate, month to month no contract, and no large upfront costs or maintenance fees are all excellent features as well!

With two generations of healthcare providers and a combined over 50 years in the field, and having previously owned a physician billing software company for more than 20 years, we are pleased to give Kareo a high recommendation.

Pros: easy to use, can log in from phone, desktop, iPad, laptop--portable!

Cons: diagnoses section if POOR!!! ICD 10 should automatically populate with most often used codesd--not the hundreds of NEVER used, obscure ICD 10 codes that require me to scroll through--also, some are listed as "conditions" and do not carry over in the diagnosis section. This is a real pitfall for this software and way too much of my time is spent on another software looking up codes since they do not populate well on Kareo--I keep hoping that this is being upgraded/ updated!

Also, ROS should carry over if SALT option is selected.

Overall: Affordable and portable. Mostly intuitive and easy for me to train others, but PLEASE fix the diagnosis section.

Pros: The reporting ability and the ease of being able to explain a balance to a patient. Scheduling a patient on the right day/time is important and being able to time block and customize for 5 Drs has been beneficial.

Customer Service reps are always there when we need them to walk us through an issue, which isn't what we always experience.

Cons: Updates can be tricky. If we had notice of exactly what pieces were being updated, it would help out quite a bit. However, updates aren't that frequent and usually its for the better.

Overall: Having multiple Drs under one set up was originally tricky. Once I was able to get in there and move around a little I was able to do what I needed and patients have not been affected.

Comments: Started small with just the billing platform and have expanded to billing support, EHR, and marketing. The EHR and billing work seamlessly and accounts can be viewed in EHR. Pt reminders are via phone, text and email. Most insurance verification can be done on the platform. Labs and other ancillary services can download results into the EHR.

Pros: It's the total package. You can purchase as much support or as little as you feel you need. Marketing made a big difference for us. The pt reminders have made a huge difference also.

Cons: Sometimes your team gets changed and there is a getting to know you stage.

Recommendations to other buyers: Do the EHR and billing platform together. Some EHRs claim they can work 100% with a billing platform but once you've experienced it, and experienced lost data that didn't translate over, you won't go back.

Pros: Very easy to use, open multiple windows without loss of speed or functionality.

Cons: Occasional glitches on calendar moving appointments around but they are working on that

Overall: We are a small (7 therapist) clinic. We switched from PIMSY to Kareo EHR. It has been a very positive experience. We have used it for 15 months and our therapists really like it. The program is very easy to use. The support team has been very responsive and has taken some of our suggestions and incorporated them in the program. We just had our state certification inspection and we received the highest possible rating with favorable comments on the completeness and uniformity of our notes and records. We have had a few glitches but Kareo has responded very well to them. I would recommend it to any outpatient mental health clinic.

Recommendations to other buyers: I would take advantage of their training and customer support line. We have varying degrees of technilogical acceptance and competence in the office. They (Kareo) have worked well with everyone helping them embrace the program.

Pros: Initially, the electronic software (EHR) was free, which allowed considerable forgiveness of the product. I initially appreciated the technical support from people who cared about their product and service. Unfortunately, the most common replies to questions from I.T. were apologies for not being able to provide what customers wanted and needed the most, see below.

Cons: 1. Creating progress notes frustrating. Must save notes before changing screens, otherwise all information LOST. No auto-save. Saving data prior to change in screen, must save and CLOSE the document. Multiple steps to re-open again. Always inefficient.

2. Doctorbase is an "answering device for providers" to provide caller's phone number. The glitch for NEW callers: NO NAME provided, no message recorded. 10-15 "unknown" callers by end of day: 1/2 -3/4 were salesmen or bankers wanting to give loans.

3. When I changed companies, unable to transfer data in bulk. Had to transfer every patient individually. Other companies ALL had ability for bulk transfer. Would have to transfer emails individually, all 15,000.

4. Limited & unsophisticated ability to create progress notes to limit key strokes.

5. Requesting program upgrades: infrequent, rarely helpful, never quick or responsive even for minor change requests.

6. Initial support staff NEVER heard from again. I had to sort out problems by trial and error . I had 10 years prior experience in sophisticated programs before this disaster.

7. This is only a few of the problems I had before leaving. 6 months later, I received a call from Kareo asking how I would like to improve my experience & upgrade the system. They apparently did not know I was long gone.

8. Working with pharmacies never smooth or easy.

9. Many more issues, unfortunately, that I have suppressed.

Overall: From Kareo: no significant benefit, mainly frustration.

From your program to review Kareo: this was easy, helpful and productive. You know how to keep a person on-point.

Pros: It takes Care of most of our needs and is user friendly. We love the fact that Kareo listens to our needs and works on updates. Their customer service is outstanding.

Cons: There some few areas that need to be improved sooner than later.

1 -When you send a referral the demographics should be included and the options to send labs and studies.

2- when you upload results for the Dr you should be able to assigned them to the dr for reviewing and signing off on them. ( we can do labs and studies but not referrals or consuls or other important things.

3. The hospitalization and procedure section needs to be improved. Because when people get admitted to the hospital they generally have studies done and that section does not allow you to add any more than one thing per day.

4. I feel there should be a place for the hippa to be documented in the demographics sections. We currently use the note section in the demographics and document it there.

Pros: I have been working in the Medical Records department at my job for 3 years. Kareo has been the easiest to navigate. I am able to view the notes from our providers without difficulty. The fact that Kareo has the ability to show all the notes, no matter how long ago, is very key!

Cons: I have experienced that in the process of printing notes, Kareo will log me off. I think that it does this because I'm not typing anything.

Overall: Overall I think it is one of the best softwares and easiest to understand without hiccups. Some software have too many windows to go through to get what is needed.

Pros: I like how easy it is to use and to review the records that you need . You don't have to open every file just for one .

Cons: The only thing I can say that I don't like about it is that in labs and studies it moved what you are working on in front of others and I away missed labs in between because it pushing the labs down . I know that it is confusing but I miss labs that have not been worked because of it.

Overall: I enjoy working on it. Doctor and I keep in contact by the messager on it . It lets us know where the patient is at all times in the office from front to back so it is a wonder tool.

Pros: Pros would consist of the ease of learning the fundamentals of working the EHR. It is pretty self explanatory once you fire up the application.

Cons: Our practice is located in Arizona, and the time on our EHR is incorrect since the base of kareo is located in California our system is on California time as opposed to Arizona. We have brought this issue to kareo, nothing was done there was no resolution to this matter and the time is still incorrect. One major issue that we are having is, we use a desk top for the use of kareo and as well as an Apple IPad. We are having an issue accessing "labs and studies" on the iPad and every time we open up this tab our app not only kicks us out but does not allow us to access the labs from the iPad thus causing Dr. Patel to then have to leave patients room come to the front to look at the labs, majorly taking away from Doctor Patient time. This matter has been brought to kareo's attention numerous amounts of times, and still it is not resolved we have been having this issue now for a total of 3-4 months. We call and receive a very typical answer from them stating that "we have our engineers working on it and someone will give you a call" no one ever gives our office a call back. we are very dissatisfied at this point with kareo and cons definitely out weigh the pros with this system.

Comments: Talk to other companies using Kareo and ask them what their difficulties are. It really is a good program, but there are some areas that may not work for your practice.

Pros: Billing reports are very detailed and useful. Very easy to access patients and schedule them. Very aesthetic dashboards.

Cons: Customer service and communication is definitely lacking. I don't expect any billing software to be totally perfect, but whenever they release a new update there tend to be quite a few bugs in the update.

Comments: I think they are a good program overall but i would be cautious before using them.

Pros: I felt like this company really understood how to brand, sell their product, good customer support, and had great usability. I felt like they were overall a good program and would recommend to smaller practices that are interested in building their practice and patient reviews.

Cons: I felt like the program was limited, had some bugs here and there, and was overall had the issues of new programs. I don't think bigger brands could deal with this bugs and wait through the length process to hear back from technical customer support for issues that shouldn't exist in the first place. This brand was also a little too sales focused, not genuine, which is a huge turn off for me.

Pros: I like that all of the information is hooked together. So, you can make a note that will on each record, along with the relevant information.

Cons: The search features are not great. You can put a word into the search that you know should bring something up, and it says no result. I would like an easier way to look for information.

Overall: I was able to make many notes about the patients and their appointments.

Comments: Calender should be printed in the grid format rather than each appointment, so that appropriate time grids can be maintained well.

Pros: Ease of use, text shortcut features are awesome, ease of loading the template to initiate the note.

Cons: Needs more categorization for templates regarding therapy and rehabilitation. Printing the notes is a challenge as you have to print them one by one. If there is a feature to print multiple notes at same time, it will be really helpful to save time and make the chart at the end of treatment course, rather than printing one note at a time.

Comments: To date, I have used Kareo EHR for the best part of a year. Altho like any record keeping system there is a learning curve, but after that, it becomes very intuitive. The templates are very helpful. Overall, I would recommend this for anyone.

Pros: The program is customizable and the templates make life easy. The info available inside the system about the drugs the patient is taking is helpful when you find a drug you are not familiar with.

Cons: The flip side of the templates---you have to customize the program. The program is designed to work for most any application so if you don't use it all, you can delete that part. During the time I've used the program, there have been updates that are a bit frustrating because you have to figure out how to do what you need to do after the change. It would be nice if there was some communication from Kareo to let us know what the changes are and how to work with the changes.

Recommendations to other buyers: Look at the different modules and what they do. Some of the modules and services available I can't use because Kareo doesn't have my specialty available to promote. Look at all the services prior to finding them elsewhere.

Pros: Kareo is super easy to get comfortable with if you've ever used an EHR, works in most browsers, cloud based, rarely if ever have we had a system slowdown or shutdown. The scheduler, in clinic workflow, and patient communication are really well done. ERx and direct address are well integrated. Templates are numerous and easy to build and customize. Easy to use old notes to build new ones. Very easy for non clinical staff to learn.

Cons: Using Kareo in a cash only environment isn't the easiest. They steer you to their credit card processor and don't really make it easy to run your own. The support is mostly responsive but can be superficial.

Pros: I like the ability to check eligibility for major insurance carriers. Scanning documents has been a big improvement for my office.

Cons: It's not user-friendly at all, and it's very time-consuming. Anyone taking appointments should be able to do it in a matter of minutes. Don't purchase the PM system if the appointment schedule is essential to your practice. First, you can purchase the feature for reminder calls at an additional cost. I don't know what they were thinking when they chose the vendor. The call comes through without the name of the physician (I was told physicians with odd names were not happy as they were mispronounced so they just state, "You have an appointment with your physician"). When I called about this, a customer representative told me patients should know who their appointment is with. Second, there is not a feature allowing the patient to either confirm or cancel the appointment. It is nothing more than a reminder call. To make matters worse, there is no indication on the schedule that the patient was even called. When I called Kareo to find out why, I was told it had to do with their vendor, and I could not have access to any reports regarding calls. I could, however, call Kareo daily, and they would tell me who wasn't called. If you want to see which of your patients have checked in, you have to go to the appointment, right-click it, and see if they checked in. There should be a way of looking at the schedule and seeing who checked in and out, who was a no-show, and who cancelled. I manage a practice, and I want to look at my schedule and know who was here and who wasn't. I shouldn't have to run a report. I need to see as much information on the schedule as possible clearly. In case anyone is looking into this system with the hope that these issues will be resolved, forget it. I was told these are not priorities. While customer care has been attentive, I get that famous saying "I'm sorry for your inconvenience."

Recommendations to other buyers: I had very high hopes when it was sold to us. Check carefully that this system really meets your needs.

Comments: I am currently using this EHR because my billing company recommended it since they use the Kareo practice management. It has been a nightmare for me having used a much better EHR - Athena. The onboarding process was a disaster and after 3 months, the lab integration has not been completed with labcorp and there is no follow-ups. I have to initiate every contact with my coach who should be reaching out to me to make sure that my transition to kareo is seamless. There is no integration with Imaging centers so you have to order the tests and then manually fax to the imaging center unlike Athena. When it comes to labs, you cannot find some of them like a common FIT test to screen for colon cancer. How about e-prescribing? Forget about prescribing common diabetes supplies like test strips, lancet or OTC medications, they are not there. With Athena, once you start typing the name of the supply you need, it pulls everything up and you can transmit those to the pharmacy electronically. For those you now want to fax to the pharmacy manually, the pharmacy name, phone or fax # does not even show on the prescription so you have to go back to the patient's chart and go to somewhere in the demographics to find the fax # and then write it down or memorize before faxing. When you place a referral, you cannot attach documents such as labs, radiology reports to the referral before efaxing. What is the point efaxing just a referral and then printing out other relevant records that should accompany the referral to manually fax....so dumb. How about releasing a patient result to their portal, you are not able to comment on the results that you are releasing to the patient. You have to send a different message to the patient after you have already released the results. Now, I keeping getting an error sending a message to patients through the portal using Google chrome browser and Firefox with different computers and they don't have any clue what is going on. I can't get any help with the technical support or my coach. They created a case and that's it. I guess I need to be calling them and taking time from caring for the patients to be doing that before I can resolve any issues.

Pros: Frankly, I do not see any

Cons: Everything

Pros: Kareo provides a seamless platform that allows for easy provider access and documentation. It's plug and play design allows for easy integration into the practice.

Cons: Customer service can be better. Kareo also appears to focus on finding the newest features and appears to forget about older issues that still need resolutions.

Pros: We like the software because it's everything we need in one program. We use Kareo for our scheduling, billing and EHR. It does everything we need for our Behavioral Health Clinic.

Cons: Sometimes the support can't help us with the issues we are having. I have an outstanding ticket now for 19 days that has not been resolved.

Pros: As a direct service provider, I appreciate that I am able to quickly locate information I need, including dates of client's appointments with other providers that have access to our agencies Kareo system.

Cons: The only concern I have with the Kareo system is that there are two different systems (Internet vs. Computer Application), and each have their own tasks that are unable to be completed on the other. For example, I am unable to look up documents on the computer application, but am only able to make appointments on the computer application. It is not a major concern since it is easy and fast to log into either system.

Pros: Ease of use is what I like best about Kareo.

Cons: I do wish that the IT department at Kareo was easier to work with. When we do have an error it is very hard to get to the bottom of the problem.

Recommendations to other buyers: IT is a great deal for the money. I would recommend using it in any practice.

Pros: It is easy to use. I had no training however I was able to jump right in and begin using on the first day. Navigation is simple. Categories use language familiar to my field. Everything flows together nicely. I like that notes can be copied and then updated. This is especially helpful when doing groups. I also like the templates as they create a good start to entering information into a note. I like there are no minimums required in the note sections. They also handle a lot of information. I have never had one say I reached a maximum number of characters.

Cons: I don't like that it isn't easy to cancel a note you start and don't want to finish unless you change the note type. I also don't like that when you change the note type it doesn't give you the option to bring forth the information you were typing into the new form. I would like to be able to take sections out of notes when a particular category doesn't fit.

Recommendations to other buyers: Make sure there is a trial period to see if you it works for you. Take the time to learn the software.

Comments: Overall, great EMR and PM that is manageable on a modern platform.

Pros: Integration with PM and Telemedicine platforms are nearly seamless Support is available and always ready to setup screen share It actually works like it's supposed to. Rarely has technical problems where this is so common with other PMs and EMRs I've used.

Cons: Like all RCM software, it has a learning curve and can be confusing at first There are a lot of online tools that are helpful but not always introduced until you inquire about it. Does not work on Mac OS unless you have Virtual machine - something they should mention on the sales call

Pros: I love that the customer service is always willing and available when we are in dire need. I love the EHR side where I can see patients check in and all there health history and note in one section. I also love the EHR side where if you are in a note you don't have to log out of that note to see the contents of a different note. I like how the EHR side shows when I person is late, how long and changes color. Documents also have gotten easier to scan in on the EHR side.

Cons: I do not like having two sides to the program, PMR and EHR. It would be easier if you could schedule, see all appointments of each patient, account history (services rendered), billing, and health history & notes all on the EHR side. It doesn't make since to have to flip back and forth to each system. Especially when the providers work mainly in the EHR side. They need to be able to see things in the PMR side just as much as the Front Desk does. I also hate that you can't split appointments by providers by time in PMR

Recommendations to other buyers: When evaluating software think about all areas of the job, not just the providers but the front office, back office, and billing depts. There is no reason each area should have a different system to work out of. Keep it simple and not complex.

We have been using this for some time and it's the best and easiest to learn how to use of all them.

Comments: Pros:

Make sure you compile a list of everything you require and have them agree "in writing". Make sure you do your "due diligence" and check reviews from real users (like me) and make sure all reports provide all the information you require. If the only way you can collect the information you need is by combining the results of 2 or more reports decide if that's the way you want to waste your users' time.

Cons:

If you require a "Custom" report your queries are limited to their selections and when you're query is for a patient the DOS (Data of Service) is not included (What?). If you have a practice with multiple locations and you need reports by individual locations you're out of luck! There are, however, many meaningless Defaults.

It's not "Rocket Science" the information is there because we put it there.

You must beg for access for your information by submitting a "Feature Request" and there isn't a response to the request and they're ignored on the forums. The "Community Forum" no longer exists - You now need to complete a survey for your request(s)

Notes you provide are inaccessible, you aren't allowed to copy, you must run a report - What a waste of time!

The response I receive is that there aren't any companies providing "Feature Requests". That is why they dropped the forum - Now complaints, Issues and Requests are hidden from perspective new clients.

Recommendation:

Return the "Community Forum" and respond to your customers - Don't hide!

Comments: We have a small practice and weren't happy with the current software we were using. We were looking for a software that wouldn't break the bank but would offer some good options and a great product. Well, we found that with Kareo.

Pros: The software is user-friendly, a lot of reports are available - Kareo also has an 'add-in' for Excel where users can build their own reports with the data ( a time consuming great option for us!). Setting up the company and some of the time-consuming - but most set-ups can be. Online chat support, quick response to emails, etc.

Cons: A 'coach' was assigned during the onboarding process to assist with the general set-up and questions; the support wasn't the best (initially). However, - we are now completely satisfied with the support received and someone is always available to answer our questions.

Recommendations to other buyers: Suggest others find out exactly what they need from the software.... the list of needs / wants, etc. and go from there. Not all software is created the same so do your homework before jumping in.

Cons: i have been using Kareo for many years. The customer support is very frustrating. Hold time to speak to someone is more than 30 minutes. Today I try to contact someone regarding EHR support.after waiting on hold for 35 minutes someone answered the phone. The line was not clear and I couldn't understand what she was talking. Further questioning she was in Costa Rica and did not have any clue what I am talking about. She transfered me to someone and again another hold for 20 minutes. Finally I had to hang up the line. I am using another EHR for my nursing home patients MDLOG/MDOPS. Customer service is excellent. Get to talk to some one within few minutes and the reply and help I get from them is very impressive. I wanted to talk to someone in Kareo who can help me. The answer is we will create a ticket and someone will contact me later. Never get a call back. I don't have time to write reviews but I am forced to do with the lack of knowledge their support staff has.

Comments: Kareo has been a good fit for my practice.

Pros: I like that the EHR and billing portions are integrated and I like the ease of use. It was very easy to learn how to use Kareo's EHR and billing software. I like the web app so I can work from home.
