Comments: One of the best project management tool. No doubt about having it in the armory.

Pros: Easy to integrate with lots of other tools like Confluence, GIT, Bit Bucket and Bamboo. Easy to manage bugs and track the stages of bug life cycle. Upon integrating with GIT it also tells you all the pulls and pushes that have been done against the JIRA item. Clearly the standout tool for analyse, monitor, organize running projects with ease.

Cons: Difficult to customize reports that we generate from the tool. Since it is a paid tool, not much features are available in the trial version - adding more features in the trial version can help people know more about the tool before actually purchasing it.

Pros: It integrates well with Confluence for team collaboration on bugs and projects. This allows us to have automated checklists in Confluence for testing, customization UI for external bug/project submission, lots of reports and metrics tracking. I feel its the best software a company can use for maintaining issuing bugs and managing the project. JIRA is also the tool to allow all of stakeholders to be more proactively to communicate transparently and especially development team to work on Agile/Scrum methodology perfectly

Cons: The thing i would like to overcome is that for certain mass like students who wants to learn the project management concepts are unable to get the proper insight in th free version. Cheaper alternatives also available. It takes you to the beginning date of one of the projects. In this case, I have to scroll all the way through to find today's date.

Pros: JIRA is a great platform for engineers who handle service tickets as well as non technical users in customer service, sales, and marketing. JIRA helps our collaboration and efficiency among these cross-functional teams.

Cons: I think everything about JIRA is great but the pricing can be a bit steep for small organizations, since they charge based on the amount of users. Perhaps they should provide different user type licenses, as it is a bit unfair to charge the same amount for those who actively use the platform and those who seldom use the platform.

Pros: I like how much I can do in Jira¿track hour allocations, projects, sprints, epics and all less pieces of work, as well as hours, history of work done and much more.

Cons: I don't like the formatting options, and often open a Google doc where it's so much easier to format and add screen shots.

Pros: It's easy to create a ticket with all the required information (configurable) or collect tickets from email or JavaScript API. The workflow and permissions are highly configurable and permissions are as well. All configurations can be managed across a single or multiple projects.

Cons: Even with all the configurable fields, sometimes you still have to ask for information that isn't given by the submitter of the issue; but, that's hardly the fault of the software!

Pros: The visibility of the projects to others in my department and on my team makes it so much easier to manage expectations. Setting goals and tracking content development has never been particularly difficult, but keeping everyone in the loop and making sure the right people are aware of the current status of working projects is one thing that makes Jira so great.

Cons: Occasional hiccups with the status of projects. Sometimes we just don't understand the full functionality of the lanes you can put your projects in. It is nice to have extra features, just hard when you don't understand all of them.

Pros: Good user interface while maintaining large technical depth. We have almost all our teams using it, from the most tech savvy to the least tech savvy and all seem to be able to use the tool effectively and exploit it's features as much as their skill allows them to. As our team keeps growing and placing new demands on the system we have not seen problems with performance or features lacking.

Cons: We have tried to develop a few custom plugins to maximize our use of the product but found their documentation for plugin development had errors and was not well updated. We usually needed to end up searching stack overflow to find out how to fix some of them.

Comments: Great value for money for small teams. Highly recommend.

Pros: I like how this product is very affordable for small teams - especially if you host the software on your own internal network. I like how you can get 3rd party plugins to extend the software. I like how you can have either a cloud based automatically updated version of the software or a self-hosted version.

Cons: I don't like that there is no good built-in WYSIWYG editor when editing project details and comments. You can get 3rd party ones but these have bugs and are limited in features. To learn the software, there is a steep learning curve - especially if you want to use the moderate/advanced features.

Pros: JIRA allows me to manage bugs, issues and deployments with total transparency. You can see the status and history of issues you are working on and handing off projects is a seamless process. It also allows for plugins to slack and trello that we also use.

Cons: The only down side to JIRA is the same as it PRO side. It is so full featured it can become very difficult for people new to the platform to get up and running quickly.

Pros: Really love the sleek design and how easy it is to complete the tickets needed to communicate with my engineering/IT help desk. The ability to drag and drop files and screenshots is also incredibly helpful when needing to get information sent to other teams

Cons: One update they made on the design was to change the "Create" button and move it to a different part on the page. Although I now know where it is located, it was very frustrating that they would move the button and not at least put some sort of pop-up note to let us know where it had been moved to.

Pros: I like the way Jira displays projects on Boards. It's easy to see who is assigned to what and what phase of the project the specific task is in.

Pros: Jira is the Salesforce of engineering/development tracking. It is robust in functionality and customization and there are lots of plugins for Jira to other softwares. Jira allows an organization to become both agile and efficient.

Pros: JIRA can be highly customizable to meet a variety of business processes. We have teams across our company that have been able to create project boards or ticket tracking systems that match their needs - despite having very different workflows. Once the entire company uses it, it simplifies processes for everyone and creates transparency into where issues are at.

Cons: It was extremely hard for Atlassian/JIRA to change our billing contact, even after we contacted them and let them know the person who set up the tool had been gone 2+ years. They gave us the run-around and shut down our account without warning, leading to widespread panic early one morning. Their lack of phone support is terrifying in these situation as the tool has become integral to running our business and this was a big deal.

Pros: Jira provides incredible sorting of data, rich reports, and opportunities for collaboration across teams of individuals. It excels at tracking of projects and "bugs" in particular on software development. The ability to employ agile methodology and scrum setup was key for my team's use.

Comments: Excellent defect management tool and good choice for scrum. With various plugins available for test management, it¿s a good prospect to look into. Most of the Test Management plugins costs $3.50/user/month.

Pros: Ability to create labels for all Issue Types but unable to do Quick Search using those labels. Extremely customizable. Represented as an Issue Type and tasks within the story are represented as sub-tasks Track tasks and activities easily. Easy monitoring and summarizing and is also flexible on assigning and commenting on a task. Exports data well enough to standard output formats & notification systems. Slack Integration

Cons: Need Confluence to work with Requirements. If not, need to enter requirements as one of the available "Issue Type". Possible using various external plugins. No out of box release mgt function. But can be customized easily. Ability to generate in-built reports for scrum and kanban projects. Additional reports available via Atlassian Marketplace and Confluence.

Comments: If i have commented anything on any issue where i am not assignee or reporter then i didn't get any report. We can not assigned it to ourself then how does user should get a report of that.

Pros: I like that JIRA enables us to make, report on, and track issues with a range of options in doing so. We're in the marketing department of a software development company, so we didn't know at first how we could use the application. But once we began using JIRA, it quickly became indispensable.

Cons: It can be complicated and time-consuming to search for issues at times, especially if you don't know SQL to use in advanced searches. I sometimes have to try several permutations of a search to find what I'm looking for, even though it should be straightforward.

Comments: Project management made ver easy

Pros: JIRA has the power to handle most needs in the Agile development space. Its easier to create tasks/subtasks for a project and assign those tasks to team members. Team collaboration was improved

Cons: We tried using JIRA as a timesheet management tool but it is not user-friendly. A user has to manually add an entry per day. bit slow at times mobile app needs improvement

Pros: JIRA allows us to work in an agile way. We are able to log bugs and stroies, assign estimations and then use JIRA to manage the work through sprints. You can customize your dashboard any way you like and there is a lot of capability to adjust workflow and functionality to suit your organization.

Cons: A lot of people in my organization find JIRA too difficult to understand. Because it is so flexible, some teams don't 'finish' setting it up.

Pros: This was a great way to digitally track you day-to-day projects. Each project is assigned a ticket and within the ticket you can track who on your team is currently working on the project. After that person finishes their task, they "assign" the ticket over to the next person. This is an excellent way to track any changes.

Cons: The interface isn't exactly intuitive. There's a lot going on if you have never used JIRA before. It took me several months to figure out that you can add filters to your tickets.

Pros: It's a great project tool for teams who like to get things done. It helps divide up the work and get team members the information they need to complete the action on each ticket or continue the conversation to get what they need.

Cons: It does take a while to "get the hang" of it. The learning curve is high, but customer service is great and once you learn all that it can do, it's a very powerful tool.

Comments: Overall a good tool

Pros: I use thi daily -. However, Atlassian's updated design suite and careful planning around all the ins and outs of Jira make it one of the easiest to use tools on the software dev market. I am able to track my tasks, assign people to get opinions and help, and get a quick snapshot of what I need to do on a weekly basis. it allows us to manage our different agile squads, cooperate and keep track of our velocity.

Cons: it is easy to manage permissions, very often it will happen that a certain user lacks the permission to start or stop a sprint or to move certain issues. In our model of cooperation it does happen that the roles are not that limited and that there is maybe not that clear a distinction between business and IT, with profiles mediating between the two, to that end we need greater flexibility on the permissions.

Pros: This service is terrific. In our busy web and application design environment we keep the whole team updated with all projects to make sure that deadlines are met. I have been using JIRA for 3 years now and we are always able to keep each one of the projects that we get on our table always up to date and well documented.

Cons: The UI can be buggy and less than intuitive (making issues, stories, etc). There is a lot to JIRA, which is probably a good thing once you learn to use it all, but it is a little overwhelming at first and I still don't know all of what it can do.

Pros: You can customize your dashboard any way you like and there is a lot of capability to adjust workflow and functionality to suit your organization. The ability to submit and track requests and exchange necessary files right there. It's very helpful for communicating with colleagues in other offices. It's great to be able to set things like the urgency of a particular request.

Cons: So far, I have a very good experience using JIRA. I do fell that you need better understanding on agile methodologies to make efficient use of JIRA or else you will not realize it's true potential.

Pros: Jira has a lot of features that help with keeping the project running in Scrum/Kanban. Setting task owners, epics, story points and many other things is great. UI has changed a couple of weeks ago. For me it's better, cleaner. It's also highly customizable, great advantage.

Cons: Jira is slow and that's the biggest pain e.g. when I'm trying to update a task or something like that. It's also not easy to learn as there are many things which require Scrum/Kanban knowledge and it has plenty of features.

Cons: There are some limits on the customization process, if you aren't an expert on the matter, you may end up with a sub-optimal solution. I know this is a general-purpose assertion, but i remarked it there because it strongly applies to JIRA. Finally, it may be difficult to extract reports of what is inside the database.

Comments: This product is typically designed for product development or more techy contexts: we are using it to manage the production of courses in a higher education context. Take that contextual background into mind when looking for a project management tool.

Pros: This product is extremely flexible and can really put your data through the ringer. Customization, data aggregation, and collaboration are all keys to using this product. We've written an API to automate our data import and that has made our workflow management so much more efficient, even going so far as to highlight areas for us to improve our efforts. The cost, as well, for a small team is quite reasonable. I've enjoyed running the product as an admin and I am grateful to see my team use it to manage their data.

Cons: The Comments section of the tool is not as effective for thorough communications. Messaging back and forth is possible and mentioning teammates is helpful, but it becomes a long scroll of messages back and forth that are not easy to navigate.

Comments: I've been using Jira for bug tracking and project management for over a year. Based on other solutions out in the market this is definitely the best offered at the moment, however there is still room for improvement.

Pros: The two main pros are: - Customizable: can create / remove any fields - Integration: can integrate with most popular systems such as Salesforce, Trello, Github, etc.

Cons: Sometimes can get quite cumbersome, if you're not used to the tool, or are tech savvy it may be hard to use filters and reporting.

Recommendations to other buyers: Overall, the pros outweigh the cons, just take into consideration a learning curve when first implementing.

We use Mantis currently for project bug tracking & management but I find mantis less friendly and views are not as good as JIRA. JIRA's reports is a winner also.

Pros: More than just a bug and incident management tool which provides more benefits in one place.

Cons: The only con is the older version currently in use by my business is outdated.

Recommendations to other buyers: I have recommended to my businesses management to upgrade to the new Agile capable version of JIRA and suggested that once it's fully adopted to consider moving project defect management away from Mantis.

Awesome for agile methodology !!

Comments: Able to micro-manage my dev team within a sprint time frame. The team is communicating well within the organization and we can access the Jira board anywhere anytime.

Pros: simple and clear works on all smart devices

Cons: Cheap if you have a team of 10 but once you go over 10+ the price will kick in.

Recommendations to other buyers: Try it out and set up on your server.

Pros: Straightforward, built for software development.

Cons: New UI is quite the change, not as intuitive as the old one.

Recommendations to other buyers: JIRA is the best for managing product development and issues.

Pros: As a business user, it is easy for me to keep track of the tickets I issued, as well as keeping up to date with the status or progress.

Cons: I don't have anything to complain about, except perhaps the pricing is a little bit steep I heard from my colleagues.

Comments: I can't imagine myself using something other than Jira for issue tracking at this point. However, if you are new to it, don't expect to be proficient with it in a day or even a week. However, it is well worth learning how to use Jira efficiently.

Pros: Jira offers a full package required for team collaboration. All the features are easily installed, so you can have a task manager, chat, wiki, code repository, etc. set up all at once. I have also not encountered any major bugs during my 4 year usage of the software.

Cons: Setting Jira up will most probably require a dedicated administrator services. Configuring this juggernaut is no laughing matter and some of my colleagues have had a very long adaptation period to its workflow.

Pros: Jira is made for managing develeper teams, IT companies. In our startup, we use it differently in the IT department and in our marketing department to manage, monitor and control each team mate work load.

Cons: As far as I know, you need an IT person to set it up. So it is really useful if that person administering and setting up Jira 1) knows what you want from it (ideally the decision maker in the company understands how Jira works) and 2) knows how to make it happen in Jira. That's the most difficult part, setting Jira up.

Comments: Needs development and thorough training to be used properly. Once it is set up and being used, it is magic for managing all your tasks. It has a full list of features and add-ons, but it can be confusing because it can be made to seem all things to all men.

Pros: Web-based, Kanban Board

Cons: Requires a developer to set up properly

Recommendations to other buyers: Make sure you liaise with a consultant and get proper training on how to use this product. Properly implemented, it will revolutionise your bus9iness!

Pros: Excellent for implementation tasks that require multiple teams. Essential as a"checklist" to ensure everything gets done every time.

Cons: Not intuitive at all. Difficult to learn. Requires process memorization for even simple tasks. Without administrators facilitating the use of different features, it would be hard to use.

Pros: Almost limitless customization options, I've seen different project managers organise a team's workflow in numerous totally different ways. Really good integrations with other Atlassian software products. Supplements a physical board very well, including the option to print cards at an ideal size for real-world usage.

Cons: Limitless customization is a double-edged sword. As a user, not administrator of JIRA I am often stuck when attempting to do anything but the simplest task. Depending on the competence of the Project Manager with JIRA, this can be a big or very small issue. It would be good if JIRA could integrate more smoothly with non Atlassian software. While I understand the business reasons for making things difficult with say, GitHub and Slack integrations, it doesn't improve my feelings towards the product as a user.

Comments: As a long term JIRA user, I have been able to use many of the different features to the benefit of our team. I have changed roles now and no longer directly manage a team but am seriously considering how I can use it for my own purposes.

Pros: Speed, reliability and customisation ability. I was very happy with the product and used it for 10 plus years through to 2017.

Recommendations to other buyers: Technical ability of all stakeholders to ensure adequate engagement.
