Now I simply go to the “Home” area and see who is due. So I don’t get screamed at by my boss. Helps with our remote team. All of us work in different time zones. I could not possibly manage that on my own. Using the AI agent to summarize yesterdays chaos, saved me from reading 100 comments. There are fewer sticky notes on my desk. Which is nice. Pros Honestly I use it as necessary but the dashboard does tell me what my team is working on and I am surprised that the automation runs on time instead of never. Cons The worst part about Resource Guru is the guest access. I keep accidently providing clients full seats. Way over priced. Clunky. The items marked as “Required” on the Home page are junk. Since we have implemented it, we got a better overview of our projects and became able to plan ahead and more long-term. Pros The product is very easy to use, intuitive, and fast. We love the ability to zoom in and out and have different views of our timeline. Cons What I (currently) miss most is the ability to quickly update the schedule. For example, to select multiple "tasks" for one employee and move them 1 or more days forward, in other words, to shift or postpone someone's entire schedule. We change schedules quite frequently so it would be easier for us to have this enabled. But I've heard that this would be possible down the road. This works well for us as we have a small number of facilities we manage. I cannot offer a recommendation for/against this project for large numbers of resources (>10) as it might be cumbersome at that point. For our limited resource pool, it works well. Pros The interface is simple to use and understand with respect to resource availability and conflict. It serves its purpose well. Cons New feature rollout is buggy. When I switched between the "beta" ("new") experience back to the classic, I received a nagging email from the company telling me I had recently logged in using the "classic" experience and it would eventually be discontinued, and that I should try out the "new" experience. This product is basically a shared calendar, and while it offers reporting that is a hybrid somewhere between Microsoft Outlook and Project, it's a bit too pushy with respect to new features. Pros The app is very user friendly and a majority of my staff are able to login and run Resource Guru without any issues. It is a streamline software for project management across multiple projects and departments. Cons They actually just added what my con would be. The Milestone tool helps better manage project milestones. This is a tool that didn't exist before but was desperately needed. Thank you! It's the only thing that's shifted our capacity management into a new gear. By which I mean: No more trying to manage everything from a single calendar, complete visibility over workflow and appointments, and the ability to see at a glance how much time is available on any given day. Pros 1\. It doesn't try to do anything other than what it's best for 2. Calendar sync 3. Cost-effectiveness 4. Responsiveness of the support team (including on UX suggestions! Amazing.) 5. The little guru on the dashboard. Yeah it's cosmetic but it makes me feel good every time I log in. 6. Easy to set up and use. Cons The only things I really dislike a cosmetic and non-fatal. They are: 1. The inability to hit a "today" button to go back to today's date, and the thin scrollbars right and left 2. The fact that I have to literally click and drag events to create instances on non-consecutive days, rather than selecting dates. I really like the ability to be able to review the utilization stats on the projects and staff, then pull that information over into the timesheets. Many other platforms I've tried get way to bogged down in details, Resource Guru captures all the information you actually need to run your business smoothly. Given how fuss-free the management tools are to use, the reporting system is the proverbial icing on the cake, as it aggregates all your available data in one easy to use panel. Not to mention, it is so intuitive to use and has such a remarkably low barrier to entry, that I onboarded all my team managers in a single day, and have never looked back. Cons Some parts of the UI look a bit dated, like the "adding resources" panel, but it's honestly not a big deal because you only use it once when adding your resources, and hardly touch it ever again. Other than that, changing the default working hours is a bit tedious, but again - do it once and you never need to adjust it again. October 4, 2021 4.0 Pros I personally find very useful being able to schedule tasks for me and my colleagues in a way that is easy to compile and understand (no more multiple Google calendars for each project!). Very nice that you can also choose between having a time-based booking or specific time. In general most of the features are very user friendly and changes to tasks/events can be applied very quickly. Cons Unfortunately the mobile view is not very clear and it takes a few steps to go on the task-page. This means that most of the time I prefer going back to my laptop (when I can!) to insert tasks or check my schedule. An app that takes me with on tap to my task page would be highly beneficial in my day-to-day business.
