It does what it promises perfectly. The UI is very friendly and pleasant - make for a great user experience. I used it to track the tasks for my team for almost a year. I would have kept using it but the company mandated a different tracking system and I had to abandon it. I like that Resource Guru'a focus on their product and customer service. I also appreciated the slow introduction of new features. Overall, very pleasant and satisfactory experience with a great application. I have recommended this tool to all my colleagues inside my organization and outside. I have been using it for 11 months now and it has been working extremely well. Pros The app is very user friendly and a majority of my staff are able to login and run without any issues. It is a streamline software for project management across multiple projects and departments. Cons They actually just added what my con would be. The Milestone tool helps better manage project milestones. This is a tool that didn't exist before but was desperately needed. Thank you! This works well for us as we have a small number of facilities we manage. I cannot offer a recommendation for/against this project for large numbers of resources (>10) as it might be cumbersome at that point. For our limited resource pool, it works well. Pros The interface is simple to use and understand with respect to resource availability and conflict. It serves its purpose well. Cons New feature rollout is buggy. When I switched between the "beta" ("new") experience back to the classic, I received a nagging email from the company telling me I had recently logged in using the "classic" experience and it would eventually be discontinued, and that I should try out the "new" experience. This product is basically a shared calendar, and while it offers reporting that is a hybrid somewhere between Microsoft Outlook and Project, it's a bit too pushy with respect to new features. I'm sorry that you felt our message regarding the new schedule was a bit pushy or potentially buggy. We needed to share this message because the old schedule will shortly be retired, and we didn't want people to be taken by surprise by that. As long as you click the cross to close the message, it won't reappear for you. I also wanted to take the opportunity to reassure you about the new schedule. It's a vast improvement on the old one - it's been completely rebuilt from the ground up to provide lightning fast scheduling, infinite scrolling, lots of enhancements including elastic overtime, and it's just as stable for incredibly large teams as it is for very small ones. The team managers are adapting to it well, so having two layers of management and the ability to track all layers is perfect. Pros I like that it doesn't try to be anything else than resource allocation, and that it does this very well. In a department with 25 people plus some 'machines', we manage to keep track on our activities very well, and distribute the load in time and across the resources as needed. Cons I find it very intuitive, both for the user who can view the bookings, and for the manager who tries to keep track on everything. As stated above, many tools try to embrace project management, time registration, etc. - but we are really interested in the resource allocation only. If I should mention anything, it would be the request for slightly more flexible reporting options. However, the people behind are very responsive, so they will probably fix it before I am done with the review. Pros The software was very easy to implement and even easier to use. The reports page provides a great, visual presentation of our creative department's utilization for the week. Until we started using the software, we were unable to track enough data to inform a successful creative resource meeting. Now we have visibility into the upcoming weeks which has significantly decreased our dependence on freelance talent. Cons The waiting list and overtime feature can be a little confusing. The hours don't get added to resource bookings and increase the utilization percentage. It would be great if the overtime hours pushed the utilization percentage over 100% to clearly highlight over-allocated resources. I just wanted to touch base on your request for utilisation to show at more than 100%. It's not possible to book someone for more than 100% of their time - our booking clash warning system prevents this to help ensure you always meet your deadlines, and without burning out your team. But if you want to overbook resources, you can do this by adding bookings with overtime, and overtime hours will be itemised in the "Overtime" column on the Reports, so it's easy to see where your team are overstretched. Very feel softwares feel that intimate or that nice to use. Pros Fore forecasting tools offered by are fantastic. It is easy to use and it is very interactive. Cons It just gets to a point where if the business grows too much, it feels like isn't able to handle it as well as some of the competitors. The Scalability they offer could be better. " December 12, 2022 5.0 Overall, we are very happy with the tool. Over the course of years, we had to find work arounds and come up with creative solutions (within what's possible in ) but having found those solutions, we are getting what we need from Resource Guru. Pros Generally speaking the UX/UI of this platform is very user friendly and easy to learn/use. I love the color coding feature (that can be used for marking projects, resources, etc) and the recently added filtering by the "Resource Booker" is very useful too. Last but not least, I like that keep this product alive as every once in a while they publish new features and enhancements. Cons for our organization does a great job of helping us schedule resources of projects over time. So I can't really think of major issues. But one minor pain point is once we create a "non-billable" project and schedule resources on that project. Often and after a while (usually when a project is signed and official) we have to change that project to "billable", but although we do that, we still need to manually update each and every resource booking under the "Schedule" section and mark each booking to be "billable". Ideally and if we change the billability on a project level, all those resource bookings should inherit the change that was applied to the project. I brought to my current company after experiencing it as a project manager at another consulting firm. Pros The ability to filter, sort, and visualize resource assignments across 50+ individuals with a variety of technical abilities has helped remove a lot of the pain in managing geographical diverse field crews Cons I would like the ability to see 4-6 months on the screen at once. Instead of individual blocks for each day, I would like to see each block represent one week (a zoom out option). Some projects are 1-5 days, while a lot of assignments are 3+ months. Reason for choosing Resource Guru Deltek was great for accounting, but not user friendly when trying to play tetris with the schedule and 40-50 technicians. September 29, 2021 4.0 Pros I personally find very useful being able to schedule tasks for me and my colleagues in a way that is easy to compile and understand (no more multiple Google calendars for each project!). Very nice that you can also choose between having a time-based booking or specific time. In general most of the features are very user friendly and changes to tasks/events can be applied very quickly. Cons Unfortunately the mobile view is not very clear and it takes a few steps to go on the task-page. This means that most of the time I prefer going back to my laptop (when I can!) to insert tasks or check my schedule. And every day, through a short stand-up meeting, we review the daily plan of everyone to make sure everything is clear. Thanks to the simplicity of the UI we can easily replan on the fly in case of project changes. Pros UX is awesome Simplicity of the solution. Cons The one-side only integration with Google Calendar. If we plan meeting in people's calendar, ideally it populates ResourceGuru (and would place it in queue in case of conflict/overtime). Senior Motion designer Design Used the software for: 1-2 years ### "Amazing software that's incredibly useful for our Studio team" January 24, 2022 5.0 We as a team absloutely love using RG, we use it on a daily basis and it really has transformed the way in which we work as a team, making us more collaborative and organised. Pros Can't believe how cheap this software is and all the built in capabilities! It's great, we are a team of 7 and this has helped us with our project management bookings. You can clearly see what work is booked in over the weeks/months and allows you easily to move stuff round. Cons I would like there to be an option to have specific colours per clients. It would also be good if it retained hours per project. For example we have big animation projects in that are broken down into sketches, moodboard, animation etc and would be good to have some sort of log if the time gets moved.
