Pros: It is very customizable and can be synced with Zoho CRM. It is very convient to see payments made by customers and it is very easy to create invoices according to that in Zoho books itself. They also have mobile application for working while laptop is not accessible. It is cloud based so data is safe and secure.

Cons: Initially the charges are low compared to other products present but from next year they increase their fees and also it has less features in comparison to some other products like quickbook.

Overall: Overall it is good for small budget and can be used in firms with less capital to invest. It has made my work alot easier and now I complete my work on time.

Pros: Very feature rich, regular updates based on tax system and makes your life easy. I started using Zoho invoice and upgraded to Zoho books, the tool completely takes care of your all accounting needs.

Cons: - Sometimes a bit confusing to use
- User management could be better

Not many cons, Zoho tools do come with a bit traditional UI but that is fine as they get the work done.

If you have Zoho CRM This product is a must

Pros: This product Hooks up easily to Zoho CRM. The product works almost fluidly with the CRM. it makes it easy to see each client payment and how much we have received each month. The information the books hold really helps for some financial reports. The Reports do make my life easier kindof. Books make it easy to bill clients and it keeps all the information in one place.

Cons: The Reports as mention in my pros are missing some really good information that is already there in the system. They want me to pay for Zoho reports, but to my understanding Zoho reports, I would still need to go in and set it up. In our business every month we have to pay out our salespeople. fist I'm not able to split commissions easily or add multiple salespeople to an invoice. second, if I look up sales by salesperson by month it gives me all invoices created in the month, not all invoice paid. We sell expensive web projects and could take months to close. so it is unhelpful for me to see monthly sales report because it is not correct. they also have a "payments received" a report that comes in Zoho books. This report gives me monthly sales but does not add the sales person to the report. So I build a report that takes 30 min to an hour top. I have asked them to fix this and they told me to get Zoho reports

Comments: The mobile app is spectacular. I rarely have to use the desktop browser version of Zoho Books. I love the freedom of being mobile without sacrificing functionality.

Pros: I am pretty sure I've tried all the top accounting platforms. My search was over when I found Zoho. Their software is incredibly simple to navigate. I really enjoy how quickly and easily I can create new items, estimates and invoices. On multiple occasions I have quite literally created an estimate while meeting with a client and received payment later that day.

Comments: We use all different modules for booking keeping, including estimates, quotes, pro-forma invoices, purchase order, bank reconciliation, and year end reporting.

Pros: API integration is very powerful as we build our own tools to read and write info. in invoices and POs

Pros: Zoho books is cloud based accounting software with many impressive features. Below are the pros of ZOHO Books 1. Zoho comes with many inbuilt accounting software features like inventory management, Payroll processing, Sales and Purchase booking etc. 2. Can be integrated with your online shoping websites like shopify, woocommerce and many more. 3. Automatc recurring expense booking like depreciation, monthly rent etc. 4. Zoho has rebust cloud technology and provides 99.99% downtime, also provides top security for your data protection. 5. In cloud based software there is negligible risk of data loss as service provider regularly takes backup of data. 6. Cloud based software are are far better than DOS based or windows based softwares. 7. Zoho books is available with reasonable price compared to other cloud based software.

Cons: 1.As compared to Quickbooks online many features are missing. 2.Disadvantage of cloud based software is it becomes difficult to shift to windows based software as data can not be transferred easily. 3. Zoho attracts consumer by quoting very less fees for 1st year but from next years there is steep increase in charges.

So far, so good! Definitely a great value

Pros: I love that Zoho Books is the expanded version of Zoho Invoice. Its easy to use, effortless, and I feel it's appropriate for smaller businesses who don't need the bells and whistles, yet.

Cons: The cost is pretty outstanding if you go with a Zoho One subscription. They want per seat but every person on your team needs a seat, even if they don't use the application afforded in their seat.

Pros: Perfect for small to medium business es - great software and I have been in development and sales of accounting software for over 20 years. Can't really fault that the software for the price .

Cons: Lacks some smart short cuts of more higher end software but that will probably come as it matures. Reports need some improvement but ok - some tighter integration would help

Pros: Optically easier and UI flows better than QB Great time tracking and project management for small businesses. Can log time on phone. Price for fully integrated time tracking/projects on phone and full accounting is 50% less than QB. Can import via CSV for most transactions. Try that in QB!

Cons: Need split distribution capability for transactions Many accounts that are not needed cannot be deleted or inactivated

Pros: It's super easy to use this software. All the functionalities are more or less self explanatory. Customer support is excellent as they respond back to queries/chat almost immediately.

Pros: We like Zoho Books better than Quickbooks. Easier to use, integrates with other Zoho products easily. Great value!

Cons: We had a little snag in our set up but it was resolved very quickly by the support team. Meets all of our needs

Pros: -Recurring Billing is included with the software
- Unlimited users for one price
- Partial integration with Zoho CRM
- Client Portal
- Customizable e-mail templates to customers
- Customize invoices, estimates, and sales orders design
- Square integration

Cons: - Lack Budgeting feature and they are ignoring the many requests for it for the past three years.
- Forced to use Alvera Tax.
- No true integration with ZohoCRM, If you want to create a sales order in ZohoCRM, you're going to have to create one in ZohoBooks
- Lack of integration to other services for Business Intelligence software
- Lack of listening to customers feature requests. They seem to build what they feel we need
- Unable to Journal entry from the bank account, which doesn't allow you to easily process payroll unless you use their payroll service which lacks a lot of features.
- Good reports, their reports are horrible and you can not customize the to work the way that you want or need.

Overall: Recurring billing is included, and that is the only thing keeping our company with Zoho Books. We have more frustrations than benefits right now.

Comments: i jave just started using books and i am already completely convinced i needed to upgrade to set up banking expecting positive results. the same results that i get using the other apps

Pros: very nice options with miminim setup time

Cons: some apps are not mobile friendly

Pros: The software is easy to use, stacks up well against Xero (the leading accounting package in use in Australia) for functionality, especially at a small-medium business level and at only 20% of the cost.

Cons: I'd like it to interface much more easily with external reporting packages, but that's endemic across the whole Zoho range (as they have their own reporting module)

Overall: Great functionality at a fantastic price.

Pros: Its cheap, but the functionality is not complete and it is cumbersome to use. It is accessible from anywhere, but you need to use multiple products to do anything Zoho makes it very difficult.

Cons: There is not Quickbooks compatibility and the CRM system and Books do are not integrated in any meaningful way.

Overall: Its inexpensive

Pros: I am not a great bookkeeper but after a few days of learning it turned out much easier then any other program I tried. As I work with different currencies and clients in all parts of he world, it just worked out great. I connect to the CRM ans Zoho subscriptions and it all integrated beautifully. Besides the helpdesk is absolutely fantastic.

Overall: I am actually up to date with my bookkeeping and not running a year behind as I as in other years.

Pros: I was a long time Quickbooks user for over 20 years and had been looking for something cleaner and easier to use. Zoho fit the bill Set up was straight forward and easy. It was also very easy to set up my invoices and accountants. I also love that they give me a heads up for my billing date before they charge my card.

Pros: Zoho Books was one of the online bookkeeping systems that was most affordable and had all of the features I need. I love that our bank account(s) are linked with Zoho and sync automatically to ensure our books are almost always up to date.

Overall: It's had everything we need and more. We always refer other businesses who ask us to Zoho Books.

Pros: Very user friendly, includes timesheet which is what I need. I like that the dashboard is easy to use and straightforward, especially because I am not an accountant. The customer service is also terrific.

Cons: I would like to see an automatic sync with the bank/credit card because right now you have to do that manually. No big deal though.

Useful intuitive software - well thought out and multilingual too.

Pros: That it is intuitive unlike other accounting softwares. It's quick to get to creating first invoice.

Cons: A bit more tricky to produce a foreign language invoice, but easy once you get the hang of it.
Support is via live chat which was ok, but they seemed to be little busy to help.

Overall: Quick to learn and to print out first invoice. Has a way to allow customers to pay online via the invoice too.

Comments: Great software. I was just starting my business is a general contractor. I looked at a lot of building software thats specially for builders and remodelers and it was all very involved and required a lot time to keep everything up to date. Zoho Books isn't like that, Zoho id easy-to-use and it's not time consuming and you can kind of scale it to the size of your business

Pros: Free to try and use with limited features Only pay for the features you need Great user interface on pc

Cons: Mobile app lacks many functions All the different pieces of zoho software don't talk to each other which means entering the same data more than once

Pros: i love the versatility of this software and the ability to use my mobile phone.

Cons: none thus far

Overall: Zoho Books is a simple online accounting software that covers all the basics: create and send invoices, track expenses, sync bank accounts, create reports and accounting on the go. I love being able to use my iphone. It also offers a full set of accounting tools that grow with your business. We have tried other accounting services, but they are complicated compared to this. Zoho Books costs $24 per month and its for an unlimited number of users. Fair priced to me. Overall, this the software our small business stuck with.

Recommendations to other buyers: take a weekend to get use to using it

Comments: I love the organisation of Zoho Invoice; Every feature has its own little dashboard (see projects and contacts below) and things are generally easy to find. Tabs on the left side of the screen are marked Dashboard, Contacts, Items, Banking, Sales, Purchases, Accountant, Timesheet, and Reports.

Comments: We love the number of automatic credit card charging integrations in Zoho Books. This is also very full features compared to Freshbooks and now that Freshbooks is doing away with PayPal Payflow in July 2016 this is one of the few providers to maintain that integration (we need it)!

It has taking me three months to find the right software that works for my company and my clients. Overall: Zoho Books has been a great tool. We have been using the software in our office for over a year now, and mostly love it. There are a few things here and there that do not work well for us, for example, the sales tax section. Zoho, at the time, is unable to fix our issues with this. The support team does respond in a timely manner, however, and the overall experience has been pleasant. I would recommend this program to anyone in small business.

Overall: For years we used what everyone else used, for that we had the daily struggles to do things like change the invoice appearance. We came across the Zoho products ran a trial and we got hooked.

The simplicity and the ability to have access anywhere through any device was fantastic, needless to say it is years later and we are still going strong.

Pros: Easy to learn and easy to use.

Overall: I'm a small business owner and salesman. For years, my bookkeeping 'system' was incoming invoices, receipts and copies of outgoing invoices piled into a shoe box! Obviously, I didn't like accounting or bookkeeping. Business was good so I didn't need to track 'every nickel and dime.'

A few years ago, when the economy started 'downhill', I realized that I needed to do a better job of tracking my expenses and sales. I tried several different bookkeeping systems (some very expensive!) but they were too complex for me.

I had been using ZOHO CRM for several years before I noticed their ZOHO BOOKS system. I tried it and fell in love with it! It is easy to learn and easy to use. Whether you love accounting, or hate accounting, you will love ZOHO BOOKS. Give it a try....

Comments: I've tried all of the other big brand business accounting products, and while they have adequacies in certain areas, they lack in many other areas. Zoho Books is feature rich, and is exceptional value for money. The customer support is prompt, supportive, and flexible. I would reccomend Zoho Books to anyone, especially any small business owner.

Cons: Inventory support for Books is a bit primitive.

Overall: I have been looking for a cloud based application for our business with the features to support our business - Invoicing, inventory, book keeping, purchase order process and standard reports.I found Zoho Books very attractive with all the features I was looking for. Very good feature set, ease of use, and excellent support. Inventory setup is a little bit tricky (with custom columns) if you have complex set of products, but, for basic straight forward products, it is perfect! Thank you, Zoho! Keep up the great work!

Comments: I've been using Zoho Books for 2 years now and have been happy with it so far. While I wish there were some more advanced reporting features than what is currently there, I've found a work around to get the information that I need. I like that it automatically records the payments when I receive them as that saves me a lot of time. I like that I can track expenses and attach them to a specific customer to see a great break down of costs. This has helped me to systematize our internal processes so that we can provide a consistent product. I would recommend using Zoho Books.

Overall: I run and advertising agency in Nairobi Kenya. I have 3 staff in the office.
Before I discovered Zoho, I used paper quotations and invoices. I only had my quotes in my head. I was the only one who knew what to charge and how much to charge.
A friend introduced me to the Zoho and I finally enjoy the freedom it offers.
I rarely do the quotations myself, converting quotes to invoices and invoices to receipts is just amazing.
I am able to create quotations from my phone as I move around when away from the office.
Our accountant also is able to view our transactions and advice us. We have even reduced the charges he pays us as most of the information is done by zoho.

Pros: The way it consolidate information from all my bank accounts and also the categorisation is simple and easy to learn.

Overall: I have been using it for almost 6 month. I am immensely satisfied with this online software. It's very easy to use and all my bank accounts are linked to it. Picks all my transactions through all my accounts and then i just have to categorise them. Categorisation can also be automated if it repeats quite often. Overall: Zoho pretty much covers all the things we need.

Very easy to use, very logical interface and nice reporting.
All items are cross-linked. You can create a sales order and convert it into a purchase order. Quotations are converted to SO, SO to invoices.

The financial part is great - multiple currencies, multiple bank accounts, descriptive reporting, and current status overview.

Some advanced features are not so well developed as in offline systems (like template customization capability is limited by design; owners equity and profit are visible through reporting, but no tools to work with them, etc.), but we are talking about a nice tool for SMB here!

Cons: Customer Support and the lack of detail in payments received. My bookkeeper struggles to reconcile my PayPal payments because the fees aren't identified.

Overall: When I first started my photography business I needed an invoicing program and I stumbled upon Zoho in my search. It had everything I wanted and was free. Here I am 6 years later still using it. Back then I only needed Zoho Invoice, but through the years I needed more organization than the invoicing program offers so I upgraded to Zoho Books. At that time I didn't realize that it wasn't truly it an upgrade, but rather a switch from one to the other. I was being double charged. It was a bit challenging contacting Zoho support (in 2013), but once I did they were happy to fix the problem and refund my duplicate payments for the two months prior. Setting up Zoho Books was a bit challenging and my only true complaint about Zoho is that the support system is very much lacking. I struggled to reach Zoho Support. When I finally did they were helpful, but it is a challenge to actually ever reach anyone. Other than that Zoho is AMAZING. I have referred MANY friends to this program through the years.

Cons: Don't quite understand how to customize an invoice, save it & use it for monthly billing.

Sometimes, I have to play around with the invoice to get all of the detail needed to print. For example, it is not readily apparent how to display the dates for which each expense is incurred on the invoice.

Not having a copy of our company's data stored on our system makes me nervous so we keep paper back ups. Surely there is a better contingency plan of which we could take advantage.

Overall: It's true, but when your calling is a clear one, you are obligated to follow! Our small care giving business has employees working exclusively at customer sites. The caregivers (most also over 50 yrs. old) input their time, mileage & expenses from their smart phones. Invoicing is generally done at my laptop but can be done from my phone. The invoicing can be personalized with valuable information for our clients such as upcoming holidays, rate changes, & thank yous for allowing us to earn their business.

The reporting is simple to use as is the customer support. The customer support is very knowledgeable & easy to understand. We have never experienced a wait time either.

We tried another accounting package our first year of business & found it too cumbersome & not user friendly for those of us with only basic accounting skills. Zoho was recommended by our professional accountant & business advisor. Zoho has greatly simplified our invoicing, reporting, & customer account related tasks, so that we can focus on senior care giving where our gifts are strong. Thanks, Zoho!

Overall: We run a magazine and charge our advertising clients through Zoho Books. Since we started using it our clients have started paying on time and they love the ease at which they pay through the online link on their invoice. Setting up sales orders, estimates and invoices is a breeze and the functionality for reporting is simple to use. Its integration with Zoho CRM makes sure that all of our client details are up to date. We have used TAS Books and Quickbooks in the past, Zoho Books is by far the easiest and best to use for our business.

Overall: I don't have a lot of basis for comparison, but as a non-accountant, I was able to get to using this after an accountant helped me setup accounts, etc.

It feels a bit slow compared to what a desktop app might be like...or maybe accounting is just a pain!

I especially enjoy the payment integration with Stripe, PayPal, etc.

Comments: Since we have being using Zoho books for our business, we have never though of any alternatives becasue this guys are just doing great and improving on their products every time. Overall: We are BACKBONE (www.backbonetechnology.com) and we use Zoho Books and Zoho CRM to run our Greece office. Apart from a few tax regulations that cannot be set up in the software, everything else works great for us. We absolutely LOVE the dashboard and visual representation of where our organization is on a monthly basis. We also love the reports section of the software.

Pros: Simple, clean and clear UI. Nothing has come close. Onboarding our accountants was simple.

Cons: Very minimal, as we are growing we are finding that we need a few features our accountants require, but this is something they can do manually on ther end for now.

Overall: As our agency grew we realised that Freshbooks was not cutting it. We needed a solution that gave us a better overview of our accounting and billing. The updates and new features from Zoho Books seem like the roll out on a daily basis, always adding value and ease of use.

Customer support is on point, clear communication and always on hand to make sure you are using their product correctly. We have now integrated with Zoho CRM and Projects for a full 360 of our agency processes and needs.

Pros: Excellent/fast support. Interface can be fun to use and is quick to respond.
Development seems to be ongoing.

Cons: Lacks basic functions like deposit slip printing (and automatically transferring those funds to bank from Undeposited Funds), ability to pre-send recurring invoices, inability to set simple defaults such as default account to accept payment to (always need to manually select Undeposited Funds when accepting checks) and no running total in account ledgers such as Undeposited Funds (how are you supposed to find and fix errors, mistakes?)

Overall: Switched from Quickbooks to ZohoBooks. Overall, ZohoBooks is very good. The site is always up and running very quickly. Tech support is excellent in both speed and quality. The software is actually fun to use. However, it does lack some of the basic functions that seem should have been in there from the beginning such as ability to print deposit slips, and there's no running total on the side of accounts so when you're looking for a mistake, it makes it very difficult to find. One feature that our business desperately is ability to pre-send invoices to people on a recurring basis before their due date. Quickbooks has had this ability back since the days of DOS (20 years ago). We're limping around right now trying to work without these basic needs in hopes that they will soon come. On the otherhand, Zoho does keep adding new features on a consistent basis. Sometimes just simple design changes but at least you get the feeling they are still working on it.

Pros: the accessibility, the reporting, and the client portals

Cons: the non choice when an update is made to the interface and having to relearn where things are

Overall: Even having the trouble of finding an accountant that was comfortable not using MYOB after convincing them to use the reports they themselves were happy with the complex reports that can be generated, that with the auto reminding of invoices, customer portals, access anywhere. its an excellent package

Pros: Clear user interface, well thought ergonomy.

Cons: A bit messy and takes time to understand how everythingw works but that's inherent to any accounting system.

Overall: As the manager of a small web agency (10 developers), I have been trying several accounting softwares, some had ugly/messy user interfaces, not enough features or were too expensive. Zoho Books is the good balance for our structure, it's easy to use and has enough feautures to cover all of our needs. We are based in Thailand and too bad our Thai Bank account is not supported but it's not really a big deal.

Recommendations to other buyers: Zoho also have other tools for CRM, Project management, HR, it's nice to have those working together.

Cons: not all (nl) banks are available feeds.

Overall: Good soft for small business. Quite easy to use. Here we have almost everything we need in our day to day work. I do like bank feeds and reconciliation history for checking if nothing is missed (with me sometimes it happens). Not all European banks yet included in the list, but think they will be in future. Very simple tax reports.

Recommendations to other buyers: under invoices in the list amount with/without VAT option, total sum of accepted/ sent/etc. estimates are lacking (in order not to go to report each time).

Comments: I'm overall very happy with my experience on Zoho books. Just a few things don't make it a 5 star experience. I would love to have the ability to completely customise my estimates and invoices. Being a design studio, it's very important that my estimates and invoices follow the rest of our brand design. Also would be good to have a desktop app for time keeping. I currently use the Chrome app and it should have the possibility of adding projects and tasks from the app itself.

Pros: Customer support is excellent. Multiple currency features is good.

Cons: Some of the multiple currencies stuff - especially to do with bank accounts and payment methods - is a little clunky.

Overall: After trying about six other accounting packages for my email marketing agency, I went with Zoho Books. It was the only one that handled multiple currencies seamlessly without requiring the very top/most expensive account level. While there are some things I wish it would do differently, it's by far the best of all the different accounting solutions I have tried. In addition, their support is fast and very, very good... every time I have a question or a problem, they either resolve it or inform me of a workaround (and log a feature request on my behalf) in a minimum of time and without any hassle. The other thing I like about Zoho Books is that their feature set is always expanding - you really do need to read the notes when they announce an update, as often I've found they've added something that makes my life easier that I wouldn't have found on my own.

Customer services have always been excellent with prompt replies and step by step guides. Pros: I like that it's very user-friendly. Almost all the necessary things you need for your bookkeeping is there.

Cons: The mobile app is alright but can be improved.

Overall: Zoho Books is one of the vital programs we use in our business. It is very easy to use and really has lots of awesome features that help you with your accounting needs. Of course, just like any other software, it doesn't have everything you will need or you can think of, but the most important ones are there. The mobile app could be improved, some reports are not accessible such as the tax summary and recording payments does not allow you to record bank charges in the app. But overall, it's an awesome product and would definitely recommend you use it.

Overall: We have been using Zoho Books for about 1 year, previously using Quicken. Zoho is much easier to use and all our staff love it compared to Quicken which not user-friendly. We are not accounting experts but with Zoho Books we can enter all of the relevant financial data to keep track of our business finances and overall financial position. No better program for small to medium sized business.

Pros: Everything! Mainly the level of customization available and CRM integration.

Cons: Improvement: Allow for www.payfast.co.za credit card payment integration for the South African market. In the interim, we are using unique URL's in the quotes/invoices for one click payment. But having full Zoho payment integration is better.

Overall: I've searched them all. Zoho is tops by far! Not only do you have full CRM integration reducing sales time by 1000's of hours (really... it's as simple Lead->Convert->Quote. Clients then pay their quote in one click thanks to Zoho!) but the product as a stand alone is far superior. The layout, quotes, invoices, automation, reports... They've thought of everything. Since we switched my business has seen radical jumps in both staff productivity and conversion rates. As a small business owner (actually it's not small anymore!), time really is money - Zoho knows how to give you both. They have truly allowed my business to grow: The service we offer is a one time only purchase by most of our clients- so we need to get it right first time and shine above our competitors!

Recommendations to other buyers: For Zoho CRM: Allow for a customer portal. We use CRM to manage/track all the legal work we do for our clients using Cases. Been able to expose a custom view to our clients would be great (CRM: Clients, Cases, any other modules). Also allow the clients to maintain their profile: email, mobile number, address, etc. Currently, I'd need to employ a developer to make a portal using CRM integration APIs - This hasn't been done yet due to the costs involved. There needs to be an "enable portal" option for Zoho CRM, like the one for Invoice. Maybe even combine both Portals to show both CRM and Invoice data? Thanks.

Overall: Before switching to Zoho Books all of our company accounting was done in a outdated none-cloud accounting program with limited features.
With Zoho books our company owners are able to access our accounting anytime and anywhere, restrict access to certain confidential information that our bookkeeper does not need access to and set up alerts in case postings not living up to our guide lines are entered into the system.

Furhermore we can view all relevant attachments such as invoices and expenses directly in Zoho Books and all of our clients can log into the customer portal and view all details of their customer account.

Switching to Zoho Books has enabled to take book the control of our accounting and provides us with a transparency that we did not have before.

Zoho Books therefor comes highly recommended by us. We use a wide range of apps from the Zoho App Suite and Zoho Books is one of our favourites.

Comments: Very easy to use with amazing customer support. Makes accounting easy for anyone, though initial set up does take time. Navigation could be easier, but once you know your way round its very straightforward. Any issue or problem is usually quickly resolved by customer services.
