Pros I like that it was easy to set up and use. I showed the end-users how to use it and they were able to pick it up right away. Cons It was tough to figure out how to get all the features to work correctly with PayPal. I had to experiment with it to get it to integrate, but I finally got it. Reason for choosing MemberPress I use Divi for my themes and as I was getting set to purchase a membership plugin. Memberpress was the one plugin that was recommended the most for Divi Themes. This was definitely the easiest to set up and run! Cons My only negative has been that it can sometimes be hard to look for information about how to do different things with the platform. There are some great tutorials though. And I’ve been able to contact support when I need to. There is a lot of functionality built into the product which can be leveraged over time as needed. Pros The software allowed us to integrate our master club database with the club website. We were able to relatively easily integrate login functionality into our site and restrict content to members only. The email features are also very good. And, most importantly the import/export of data functionality is easy to use and allows us to keep everything in sync with our master database. Cons We had to use a third party plugin to have the login/out status appear on the screen. Could you build something into the product? Customizing the wording/fields on the provided pages is cumbersome and requires overrides to be manually entered into configuration files. While there are some situations where a different membership system needs to be used, whenver possible, I push for the client to use MemberPress. My overall experience is outstanding. 10/10 recommend. Pros I love how powerful and flexible MemberPress is; no matter how complex the client's needs are, I have found that MemberPress can handle it. I also love how simple and consistent the auto-reminders and auto-renew features are for members. Cons MemberPress can take a little while to master, and it is not easy to teach clients to use. Mostly this is because MemberPress can just do so much, that there are a lot of variable to account for. However, the online resources that MemberPress provides are incredible. I have yet to have an issue that I could not resolve for myself through their resources in just a few moments. On the admin side, the package is very well documented and has great support available for any questions or issues that may crop up. It was brilliant back then and has continued to evolve. I use it personally on my own site, as well as recommend and have running with numerous clients. It's always worked flawlessly but the look and feel has continued to improve with each update. Very easy to use as both developer, end client users and members. Highly recommend!! Pros I had been using ARMembership plugin previously on a couple of my websites but technical problems and slow support were causing issues. Memberpress looked like a better plugin and certainly is. After 6 months of use on two websites, I have had few problems. And as an elegant Themes Divi user, I can take advantage of their fantastic builder! Cons I would like better instructions for the forms builder and a simpler construction method. For example, not having automatic normal contact information — but allowing me to add or delete any component in the form. Reason for choosing MemberPress Price and user ease. Pros I have been using MemberPress for several years now. I have evaluated several competitor programs and nothing compares to the built in functionality MemberPress has. I have had a few questions and issues over the past few years and whenever I have had to contact support I get an answer within hours NOT days. I have always been very satisfied with the support they provide. I would highly recommend this software to anyone wishing to put together a Membership website. Cons I can't think of one thing I don't like about this plugin. I have always been able to configure all the functionality I have needed to build every membership site I've built. Pros I'm no tech expert so I really appreciated how easy this plugin is to use and manage a membership offering on my website. I also like how users go directly through the program for lost passwords, and don't require my assistance. Cons I wish the affiliate program was integrated. Memberpress also send lots of emails with tutorials on to help guide you through what may seem to be complex procedures. Pros Initially I was scared to try this out because I thought it would be overly complicated and might not be compatible with the Divi theme. I was pleased to find that it was a really simple plugin to set up and if anything wasn't clear there were lots of resources withinn the memberpress community and in the Divi theme support. I particulalry like the drip content feature which, as it's name suggests, allows you to feed subscribers new content without having to lift a finger. Cons It's not so much a con but I did think that some of the add-ons were going to be free but they turned out to be paid. I think that was me raising my expectations too highly. I haven't found any disadvantages and I don;t expect I will. If a feture doesn't exist I can always find it in the add-on library. Reason for choosing MemberPress There seemed to be a large community around Memberpress. It was compatible with theDivi theme I was using. Price was reasonable. It also had a list of features which fitted the project. I just follow the videos and instructions on setting up certain features. It has most of the things we want for a membership plugin. If I stumble into a problem, their support department is very much willing to help, and they answer at once. The pricing point is too high; there should be different entry levels. We developed the custom solution that met our needs and MemberPress provides the gating and protection that we require. It dropped into our Wordpress installation quickly and it was easy to set up. We had some initial problems getting transactions to go through but customer support was great. The system manages members quite well and setting up tiers was a breeze. Cons The only issue that we ran across was the inability to cancel recurring payments through the MemberPress interface. I researched all the possible membership software available for use on the Wordpress platform and everybody (professional reviewers) put this at the top of the list. It has everything you need to setup any type of membership program you need and integrates with all the top payment gateways. Cons There is a little bit of a learning curve (but that is to be expected with such a powerful tool) - especially if you are new to the membership program concept. Would definitely recommend going through ALL the Knowledge base articles & videos FIRST .... know everybody hates to read the manual, but is a necessity here. I am new to the LMS world and did my due diligence before going with MemberPress. This involved price and functionality comparisons. It is easy to use and the documentation is great. It also integrates well with Elementor which is a plus. Pros I needed a learning management system for some online courses that I need to create and MemberPress was my choice. The introductory price was the biggest draw for me. Also, I appreciate that it integrates with Elementor. Setting up the courses is straight forward with great documentation. I'm still in the process of creating my courses, but so far I'm happy with my purchase of MemberPress. Cons I am still in the process of creating my courses with MemberPress, but so far, I haven't encountered any challenges or functionality limitations that impact my desired results. I tried several other plugins but the most easy to use and implement has been Memberpress.Not to mention at a very competitive price. Pros Setting rules, creating memberships and getting signups is a breeze. It is ready to use and launch. Cons Except for Paypal, other country specific payment gateways are missing and one will have to do custom work to get them running. Cons I wish I had a way to do a more dynamic membership. As it is, I have about 300 different memberships to manage, when the pricing is all linear based on a particular custom field (#of licenses) granted by each. I wish this could be defined as one membership with a multiplier to calculate the value of the price and the value of that custom field. Review Source WG William G. Support is brilliant at helping set up memberpress. Overall, I am happy to choose memberpress over the alterantives. Pros The plugin is great to create a membership, and has a range of integrations and features that, with a bit of work, can make a very slick membership. Cons There are certain things they can improve on. For example, adding e-commerce options, having the ability to have one membership for different renewals (such as yearly and monthly: currently, you have to make two separate memberships to achieve this, which also means if you have a free trial, they can have that for both). It would be good to have the ability to get sales on the checkout page, as this is high converting. It does good memberpress, but there are small things here and there they could add which would make the plugin much better.
