Pros: The number one thing that I love about Pardot is how easy it is to use. If you're on a small marketing team, one person can easily handle the system. If you have a larger team, the functionality scales extremely well - and you can bring in as many users as you need into the system without needing to pay for any additional seats.

The software is extremely consistent and reliable. Pages load quickly and properly. The WYSIWYG editor for emails is awesome! The amount of automation you can do in Pardot is fantastic - especially with their more recent addition of repeating automations and drip programs.

Awesome update releases thanks to being a Salesforce product.

Cons: The positioning of all of the various functionality can be a little confusing at times. There are a LOT of menu items that lead to the various different features. Some cleanup/re-organization of these might help new users.

The out-of-the-box Marketing templates, while serviceable, could use a reboot. For a startup they're likely sufficient, but if you're running a lot of email campaigns you might want to invest in having a developer custom-build a modular email template for your ongoing use.

The built-in mail testing using Litmus is terrible. Often half of the renderings fail to load, and a number of the renderings included are not super relevant any more. I actually never use this feature any more as I prefer to send test emails to an actual mail client rather than trust the renderings.

Overall: I have used Pardot at three different companies now and I love it. It's been one of my most reliable and useful tools in my Marketing Stack over the years and it's continued to get better thanks to the aggressive roadmap put in place by Salesforce. Great for business ranging from small business up to Enterprise.

It offers more than it can handle. Terrible support. Way too expensive.

Pros: There's some good features like email drip campaigns, landing pages and forms but they all have their drawbacks. The drip campaigns we found were never getting delivered and going to spam, no one ever opened the emails. The landing pages only provide 4 or 5 designs and only one of them is even possibly usable. You'll need to code your own. The forms are extremely complicated, I've been using for a few years and I still have no idea how to customize them to improve the designs. Basically just too complicated all around. I don't have any pros really, anything good I can find a con for. Don't get fooled into buying this software.

Cons: We purchased Pardot on a three year contract expecting much more than we were given. We are a news publication that sends out daily alerts that our customers pay for and were told by their sales team this was the best email delivery software out there - obviously we know they all say that but this software isn't even close. Pardot purchased Exact Target and sends out of their email. Exact Target is one of the most filtered spam filters no so it's almost impossible to get emails sent through to any customers if they have even a shred of spam filtering set up. We have had to work with hundreds of subscribers to mark our emails as a safe sender through IP and Domain whitelisting and sometimes that doesn't even work. That and they fact that the reporting and features in many ways have no flexibility make this software very frustrating for us. In the beginning we were provided a chat function to contact support and found that there wasn't really much they could do for us other than redirect us to links that did not fix our problems - this would end up turning into a ticket that would rarely be resolved. After about a year they did away with the chat function altogether and told us if we want it back we need to pay an extra per month. This is already an EXTREMELY expensive software so for them to turn their back on us for another money grab was a spit in the face. We're done with them and looking forward to the contract expiring early next year.

Overall: We were able to update designs for emails and landing pages (with limited selection) but deliverability suffered greatly.

Comments: Pardot has a lot of base functionality that sets it apart from email platforms like Mailchimp and the like. It also provides better integration with Salesforce than hubspot and other less expensive CRMs to give your organization with a complete picture of the sales funnel. Pardot provides email templates upon sign-up that are easily customizable for specific needs. You can test this emails to internal lists and with its integration with Litmus you can view how different clients and platforms will render you email before sends. Landing pages and form are an easy way to collect leads, track conversion points, and keep the source of a lead. Forms enable you to send auto-response emails, notify teams or sales reps, and assign leads to the correct person. The can also send leads to a Salesforce campaign with detailed member statuses to provide for multi-touch attribution. Landing pages are easy to build, add Google analytics or any other tracking code and deploy. Automation rules allow you to keep your database clean and ensure that all prospects are going to the right place, tagged correctly, and scored appropriately. Dynamic content is an excellent investment as an add on to allow you to use one template but change messaging based on known prospect information. No need to create 5 different emails or landing pages for industry segments, just create on template and use the dynamic content feature to show messaging that applies to them.

Pros: Intuitive UI, great functionality for the price, native integration with Salesforce, dynamic content add-on. Automation rules that can help keep the system clean and prospects updated.

Cons: Limitations within automation rules for mutli-variable updates. For example - Loading a tradeshow list with campaign member statuses in SFDC. I would like to upload in one automation rule to say if X campaign status, update to this campaign in SFDC for X status, within the same rule I would like to add all of the other statuses with specific completion actions instead of having to run 1 rule for each status. Dynamic content should be able to trigger via a URL parameter and not just a known prospect field.

Pros: Pardot lets us punch above our weight as a small marketing team. It was there when we were a marketing team of 1 and is able to grow with us as we become a marketing team of 14. Specifically, Pardot's B2B focus and different channel integration makes it very easy for us to synchronize marketing campaigns and orchestrate content and engagement across channels. From email to landing pages to social media to forms that we can inject into our web properties, Pardot makes it extremely easy for us to scale quickly and look incredible! Finally, the fact that Pardot is natively integrated with Salesforce Sales Cloud means that I don't have to worry about clunky integrations, pages or 10-step reporting. The data is right there and ready to give us insight across sales and marketing. Our sales teams are using Pardot Engage from right inside Sales Cloud to run their own, marketing - enabled, micro campaigns. This fosters alignment between our teams and helps them achieve smarter and faster results.

Cons: There is so much more that Pardot could be doing with reports given all the data that passes through the system. I'd really like to see more reports such as client engagement reports that combine account engagement scores with revenue data that Pardot pulls from Sales Cloud. I'd love to see enhanced social listening and sentiment integrated in Pardot and a more robust social queueing capability. But these are improvements that could be made rather than negatives about the existing product. We use the reports and social queueing extensively and these are ways it could be improved. Finally, help and support can be challenging to navigate. If you're someone who takes the initiative and can dig in, you'll be fine. If you want hand-holding through the process, you'll likely need external consulting.

Recommendations to other buyers: If you're B2B focused, if you're growing, if you're looking to automate marketing campaigns so you can do more with your current staff, and especially if you already have Salesforce in house getting Pardot is a no-brainer. It has better integrations than Marketo, Hubspot, Eloqua or Act-On. It is easier to use than those systems and it doesn't suffer from the reporting inaccuracies that plague systems like Act-On.

Horrible product, customer support, and contract.

Pros: We have fully implemented Pardot into our sales and marketing teams. We use everything from landing pages, forms, custom redirects, email templates, email automation, and their gmail plugin. It does¿t meet our sales and marketing requirements.

Cons: In less than one year we have opened 42 support tickets with Pardot. Many with no resolution. After determining that the product simply doesn't work we are transitioning to their competitors. Pardot is still forcing us to pay licensing fees even though their product failed to function. Do not use.

Stand Out Issues:
- The Gmail plugin simply doesn't work. Activity is not consistently logged in SalesForce. We have reported the technical issue many times to their support.
- They cap uploaded assets (Ex: images) at 100 MB storage. This is ridiculous. When we hit the cap they wanted to charge us 4K to increase storage.
- Poor reporting on emails:
* Missing data on 1:1 emails. Direct emails sent via the Gmail plug-in.
* CTR doesn¿t show for under 1% in engagement studio > Requires us to click down into each email template to pull report and export details to do a side by side comparison
* There are no reports generated for engagement studio (only drip programs - old feature now retired)
- Can't track replies on emails > can¿t gauge performance
- Recurring issues with Engage in Gmail and Engage Alerts (holds up the sales team from their day-to-day tasks)
- Poor UX in Engage via gmail for sales team (cannot organize 1:1 templates by folder)
- Limited on engage logic, can only use prospect fields. We can't use opportunity or account data in automation.

Pros: From its Exact Target roots, the email marketing capabilities are what I like the best about Pardot. I have full HTML control and can easily create my own templates, A/B test, use variable tags, view reports, and more. The use of Litmus email previews is awesome too. I've been using the new SF Lighting UI for a while now and I like it a lot better. There were a few bugs at the beginning, but I thin they are all cleaned up now. The folder organization is probably a feature that doesn't get talked about much, but it helps a lot. We were told to try to use them and much as possible during the initial Pardot setup, and I'm so glad we did because you'll notice content and files start piling up immediately and having a solid folder structure makes life a lot easier. I've used a few other Marketing Automation tools before and Pardot is my favorite. It's simple, but robust enough to handle advanced needs.

Cons: The automation and "Drip" functionality is pretty simple and doesn't offer any real advanced options. For example, you can't create drip automation based on if a prospect clicks a certain link in an email, but I think there are working on that. There are a few other little things, but nothing major. One item that Pardot could improve upon is Basic Chat Support. They only offer basic support through their Olark chat, and more than half the time I check, it shows them offline which means they are full. It can get a little annoying at times if you need something urgent. However, their case management is very good and if you have a case get escalated to a higher team, the support is very good. I've had the team spend a lot of time working on some advanced form functionality for me that helped a lot. Their knowledge base is strong too, so that usually a good place to start.

Recommendations to other buyers: For someone new to Marketing Automation, it may be a little on the advanced side and might be overwhelming compared to other entry level tools in the market. But for someone looking for unlimited clean email capabilities and robust features, Pardot it for you. If you use Wistia, be sure to connect to Pardot, it's awesome.

Comments: Pardot's just great overall, every tool has a grace period of learning and individualizing the use - you can't always read a KB article and have things humming, you have to hit the dirt face first a few times, show some humility, not break the law and find your fit with how you use it most effectively.

Pros: Once you understand the areas of Pardot and how affective they are throughout the areas of your marketing efforts and establish a synergy it's a great tool that's used frequently to solve and offload processes from other, potentially costly systems.

Cons: My con is a con that anyone would have, it's a different UI, capabilities are different in some contexts, and it really just takes a matter of time to feel it out and get comfortable with. If time is that bad of a con, than we'd all have a bad wrap. I do with their integrations were a bit long but with most things going to Salesforce and Pardot having a bond with it, we can solve things through that channel.

Pros: This can be a good tool to use for automation as you can import contacts and add them to lists and drips fairly easily. It's also good for integrating with custom forms and landing pages and you can create custom campaigns, links etc. High level, it really helps connect everything together from the first visit (including the pages they viewed) and every subsequent touchpoint from then on (but reporting on this falls into the "Cons").

Cons: Pardot is a difficult tool to set up and manage and their support through the process is quite limited. Their chat seems to fill up by 9 am, and although they offer courses to train you how to use their product, they charge for it. Although it is a powerful tool, their reporting capabilities are very behind, and while they capture every touchpoint, there is no way to roll up that data to gather insights or report on it.

Overly expensive for the features, almost zero Aus support.

Pros: The UI is fantastic and super intuitive. Feels good to use, which is important as we use this daily.

Cons: Implementation was cookie-cutter and conducted by a Third Party, which didn't take into consideration any of our business processes. As a result, we lost the ability to fully automate a large portion of the platform. Support is the absolute worst. Their live in-app chat has now disappeared completely, but even before this it was impossible to reach anyone or get a decent answer regarding most problems. Forget about their Knowledgebase, as you need to buy a separate Salesforce licence to access it. Warning: If you're buying this, you will NEED a technical front end developer to integrate it properly into your website, design forms to match, build email templates and landing pages. You COULD use their stock templates, but they're not device responsive and are super bland.

Comments: We've been using Pardot for years to manage emails and landing pages, but once we added Salesforce, we saw a dramatic increase in Pardot's usefulness. Having the ability to score prospects' interactions on the web and easily hand off warmed up leads has made a real impact.

Pros: - Once you have solid templates built, creating new emails and landing pages is very fast - Integration with Salesforce is solid, no issues with data sync in either direction - Automation rules (especially b/t Salesforce and Pardot) can take care of a lot of mundane tasks without needing to remember to do them

Cons: - Getting started with the Program can be tough because there is so much it can do - Reporting on data can be difficult to figure out. Not on a per-email basis, but rather on Campaign-level performance. There seem to be multiple places to get information and they don't always match up. - Landing page templates are not responsive. Seriously! You have to have a web designer built and import them to be useful

Pros: We are a small consulting business based in London and we rely heavily on Pardot to generate, manage, and communicate with our leads. We've used just about every feature of Pardot and there are a two that are most valuable to our business:1) The custom landing pages drive a lot of leads from search engines to our site, 2) Campaign tracking so we can see just where our leads have come from, as well as how else they've interacted with us (forms completed, price sheets downloaded, links clicked, emails opened, etc.). We've seen a definite increase in our lead generation and lead conversions since we started using Pardot two years ago.

Cons: There is very little I have to complain about here. If I had to say anything it would be that Pardot has a lot of features that we hadn't used before, so it took some time to learn it all and be really effective. It's definitely a commitment, but one that pays off! Once we were up to speed it was quite easy to use.

Recommendations to other buyers: I would recommend prioritising your organisations needs and goals before evaluating a software or platform by talking internally and making a list. It will help you discern if the platform is the right fit. If email marketing is your priority, then your platform should have a strong yet easy to use way to sending emails. If your organisation has had trouble tracking lead conversions, then look for a solution that has that specific type of reporting.

Comments: Pardot is reliable and easy to use, and has helped our organization objectively measure return on investment in marketing automation. I can say with certainty that last year 50% of the net new revenue opportunities we won were tied to marketing automation via Pardot. I only need support from Pardot's customer service team about once per year, but when I do, they are friendly, helpful, and efficient in their responses.

Pros: Easy to Use Easy to Train On Pardot makes it easy to measure a return on investing in marketing automation. The tool is reliable and performant, and the Pardot team's customer service is outstanding.

Cons: The Client Advocate email domain was terrific -quick and helpful customer support for usage-related questions. I'll be very sad to see this deprecated and replaced with the success community.

Pros: The integration with Salesforce takes sending e-blasts to a whole new level of user-friendliness. Gone are the days of exporting a list from Salesforce, uploading the list to a separate email client, etc... The syncing with Salesforce allows me to create dynamic lists based on Salesforce field values with ease! When building the emails the HTML editor is great and the WYSIWYG editor is simple to use, plus there are plenty pre-built templates to choose from. The automation options like drip campaigns and dynamic lists help me be more efficient than ever. The analytics are very helpful in determining the effectiveness of our email campaigns and A/B testing helps us know what works best with our audience. The customer service if I have a problem is wonderful--they follow up quickly and helpfully explain how to resolve issues.

Cons: While the Salesforce integration is great, I wish there was a way to "filter" which records in Salesforce get synced to Pardot. When you have multiple records in Salesforce using the same email address the process can get tricky.

Recommendations to other buyers: If you're already using Salesforce, Pardot can absolutely help you with email marketing. You'll love reporting/analytics!

Pros: Pardot is very easy to use for the most basic purposes such as sending out emails and generating lists using metadata from both your Pardot and Salesforce database. Tracking peoples journeys along your website is also a plus.

Cons: The software is limited vs Hubspot and other competitors. Reporting is not as robust and integration with Salesforce (the confusing 'Pardot Campaign' vs 'Salesforce Campaign' for example) can be frustrating. Do not expect to be able to get the level of website analytics you do in Google Analytics or the tracking ability available in Hubspot.

Overall: Easy to setup and basic integration with Salesforce. It is good for it's price point.

Comments: It is nearly impossible to get help. They do however have group calls where you can bring you issue and they will try to solve it. You end up waiting for others to solve their problems too.

Pros: A lot of functionality offered and some really cool features. Love the ability to look at your email on various devices. The tracking features are great too. There are tons of templates to get you started.

Cons: The steps to create a campaign are just not obvious and once you do create a campaign, execution is not obvious either. The template edit feature is really inane. You have to click on the left to edit on the right. Really dumb. Scheduling is not easy either. Support is so bad!

Pros: automation, reporting, metrics, custom URL redirects, Sales Force integration

Cons: duplicate email issue, also there is so much it can do but sometimes it is a challenge to identify the best way to use all of the features.

Overall: We started working with Pardot about two years ago when we first implemented Sales Force. it was a great solution for the types of B-to-B marketing emails we were hoping to start producing more of. We have still not fully unlocked the full potential of the platform, but the more we learn about the automation capabilities and integration with Sales Force the more excited and eager to learn we get. Our biggest struggle is that in our business we have some accounts that will use the same email address, which Pardot does not allow. We will be setting up a training soon to help us better understand engagement studio so that we can start executing on some smarter campaigns.

Pros: This program has allowed us to integrate automated marketing where we had none, and keep excellent track of it along the way. I like how customizable every aspect of it is, from the email templates to the landing pages. The customer support is very extensive, and I really enjoy the office hours they hold weekly where you can ask the product engineers questions and learn from other Pardot users.

Cons: They market this as being a program a non-developer/designer could use, which is probably technically true, but you would not be getting the full value from it without someone with at least basic HTML/CSS knowledge. The templates that are included with the program are not very engaging and most of them are not mobile responsive. This took our company a LOT of time to figure out how to implement. The documentation is extensive but sometimes hard to comb through. Your best bet is getting on with the office hours so they can point you to the right article.

Overall: This software has allowed us to add marketing automation to our own internal marketing where we had none before.

Pros: I like the engagement studio, and the overall general features of Pardot. The user interface is very good.

Cons: It's missing some key features that Hubspot has - or has very pared down versions of those features.

Overall: It's a great marketing automation platform. I think it's probably truly amazing for people who use Salesforce because you'd have a full integration. For me, it's the second best platform I've used - Hubspot has some standout features that work for me that Pardot's missing. But overall, this is a great product that's relatively easy to use (as marketing automation platforms go), and it should definitely make anyone's short list.

Pros: Pardot is the most complete marketing automation system available on the market today. We originally selected the tool because the quality of the email marketing tool far surpassed every other MA vendor, but Pardot has consistently delivered an excellent experience in every way. The system integrates with our CRM perfectly, offers sophisticated content distribution and automation options, and delivers incredibly accurate real-time prospect tracking. Pardot helps us motivate prospects through every part of the funnel faster and more effectively than any other tool. It allows us to deliver relevant, personalized messages to better connect with our future customers.

Cons: We love everything about Pardot. You will hear a lot of feedback from other vendors will about how the system's reporting/analytics package is not robust enough but we haven't found that to be the case at all. The system is incredibly easy to use, and the more thought you put into your campaigns, the more intelligence you'll be able to derive from them. Pardot does everything we need it to do and does it incredibly well.

Recommendations to other buyers: When selecting a Marketing Automation System, it's imperative to have a great foundational tool with full functionality, a system that will integrate easily into your other systems, and a vendor committed to improving and continually enhancing the tool. Pardot is the answer to your search and is a system that can be the cornerstone of your marketing department for years to come.

Pros: Pardot is great because as an Account Executive, every lead and contact I work with in CRM has a field called Pardot Score. Based on scoring criteria related to opening an email, clicking a link, etc, I can really find the most qualified leads to focus on any given day or week.

Cons: Compared to other email marketing software that I have used, Pardot is really the best one that I've used. Not much experience in creating campaigns though.

Overall: Great ability to score leads from email marketing campaigns and find the most qualified prospects to focus on.

Comments: Overall excellent.

Pros: Way more than just email. Pardot is a full force marketing automation tool. Everything from page tracking to form building to file downloads, It is by far the easiest to use tool I've experienced. In addition to the above, it's an excellent email tool, complete with record assignment, auto responder, integration capabilities.

Cons: Too frequently there is system down time that impacts message sending and performance. To date, this has been simply in convenient and has not crippled any critical operation.

Pros: The updated interface is wonderful. I also really enjoy the new Engagement Studio when compared to the older drip programs. It's powerful and automation rules, dynamic content, drip campaigns and more really add a lot to your marketing department.

Cons: It can definitely be pricey.

Overall: Pardot can be very powerful. It can do quite a bit, including manage email marketing, lead segmentation, lead tracking, lead scoring, nurture campaigns and more. Best of all, it syncs perfectly with Salesforce.

Recommendations to other buyers: Have a plan and make sure you utilize this fully. Also, ensure Marketing and Sales are aligned and communicating.

Comments: Really helped us maximize our SF investment by deploying Pardot company-wide into Sales Ops, Accounts Receivable, Project Management, and more. We used Pardot and Sales Cloud to create EZ-AR¿ an automated AR service that requests invoices until they are paid, cutting DSO up to 50%.

Pros: Sync to Salesforce - unlike no other Marketing Automation System. Ease of use and navigation. Easy campaign management

Cons: Honestly, nothing really to complain about here. There are small bugs here and there, but that comes with every system and I have seen those same bugs and more in other MAS.

If you have a choice, look elsewhere.

Pros: Has most of the basic features you need for marketing automation. Plugs into SFDC pretty nicely. Can teach yourself the system by just playing around.

Cons: Customer support is non-existent. Nickel and dime you based on prospects in your database. The product is not user-friendly compared to the other products that are popping up on the scene, especially for a lot less money. Their new "help center" is a mess.

Overall: Not much other then the connection to Salesforce. That is the only true advantage I see at this point.

Comments: There is so much to learn. I have two employees earning badges working toward certification. I need a better understanding of some of the products like Lightning. Google analytics

Pros: Managing drip campaigns and the ability to consistently market to large groups of leads and PROSPECTS is great.

Cons: I wish salesforce emails had the same functionality as engage emails. I like using engage alerts but I do not have that in salesforce. I have created dynamic templates for delivering content but in salesforce not pardot.

Pros:
This tool offers several solutions, but the most outstanding is the one that concerns the analytics carried out in B2B marketing.
In addition to the web service, it has a mobile application that will allow you to manage and cultivate your leads in an optimal way. In this way, you will make more successful deliveries and with greater guarantees that will surely fit in your audience.
Another service offered is the ability to connect with your users and customers no matter where you are. This will allow you to make faster decisions and thus ultimately increase ROI in your marketing campaigns.

Cons: The prospect details page could be a little more simplified. I find that it can overwhelm you with information that might not apply to the prospect.

Comments: If Salesforce delivers on their promise to improve the reporting - and don't try to charge extra for it - the solution would be much stronger.

Pros: Great value for money and has helped us take our marketing campaigns to the next level. Seems generally robust and integration with Salesforce improving.

Cons: Integration with Salesforce is still a work in progress (after several years), especially around reporting. Terminology is confusing and reporting at campaign level weak.

Comments: We were shopping the market for a marketing automation solution. Having already purchased and implemented every salesforce.com tool, we had a level of expectation with Pardot that as a Salesforce.com owned brand, they would bring their "A-game". This was a very bad assumption. The initial sales process was great, the Account Executive did his job, sold the solution and introduced us to an implementation partner. They were awful. Non of the objectives were achieved, resulting in a solution that was not fit for purpose. Pardot exponentially are growing their sales teams, yet they are not growing the support function at the same rate. Telephone support is not provided (they will argue that they do provide call back support), however you have to pay more for this. Let me get this right, you are paying as much for Pardot as it costs to buy a Fiat 500 car and you don't provide telephone support for your product? Basic questions would take hours and days to get answers to, you could Tweet the company (they ignore support tweets), you can even tweet the founder and he'll ignore you. Pardot has great functionality but it is supported by people who do not understand that email support is not enough when you are working to deadlines. If I can call McDonalds about an issue with a $4 purchase, you need to make sure you provide telephone support for a multi-thousand dollar transaction!

Pros: Simple and sleek interface Account Executives are pro-active and exceptionally knowledgable

Cons: Lack of effective support Difficult to implement via their "self service" tools Likely will be connected to a poor implementation partner

Pros: I like the marketing automation features. Sending emails. Engagement studio. Stuff like that. I also like how well it connects to salesforce. Great feature to have with your marketing automation system.

Cons: Campaigns are not helpful at all since they don't directly connect to salesforce campaigns, so that is frustrating. Some limitations to email design. Overall not too much to complain about though.

Overall: I am a pardot fan. Learning the ins and outs of pardot has helped get me two different jobs now, so I am glad that I was introduced to it. I would recommend it as a marketing automation tool, especially if you use salesforce.

Pros: Ease of use, lots of functionality (nurture campaigns, social posting, salesforce integration, lots of automation opportunities)

Pros: It's better than nothing, I suppose.

Cons: Of all its many problems, how much you need to pay to get support other than by email with a 3+ day turnaround is outrageous.

Overall: Using other marketing automation systems, Pardot is far behind the curve missing decent organization and a mixture of capabilities. They seem to miss the concept of modern inbound marketing. The claim that they are better because they are so closely tied with Salesforce is horribly misleadig, other MA systems work just as well with SF.

Pros: I used Pardot to create custom URLs to track performance on social media. It's great for creating custom URLs and storing them and keeping track of data. I also used Pardot for email marketing, which again was great for keeping everything in one place and automating emails.

Cons: The program was very glitchy and would often be down for maintenance a lot. There's also a lot to the program, so you really have to know your way around the system to take full advantage.

Overall: Overall good concept for management purposes, but the program would close for maintenance and was glitchy a lot.

Pros: If your sales team has a high volume of leads/contacts (1million+) Pardot has an awesome feature call Engage Alerts which will help your sales reps filter out prospects/clients with the most activity in real-time. Especially, good when an email campaign goes out.

Cons: You need to setup your campaigns the right way, the first time. If you don't, it's hard to go back and restructure.

Comments: We selected Pardot over 2 other well-known marketing automation options. After using Pardot for the past several months, I have found it to be fairly easy to use and powerful. There is a learning curve, and the best way to learn is to use it often and try new things (e.g. - engagement studio). There are lots of webinars and support materials available and the open office hours is usually helpful (although not always the most convenient since you have to wait in a queue before getting your question addressed and have a limited window to do so as others are typically waiting in the queue as well). Overall I am pleased with Pardot and hope to get even more out of it in the coming months. I would recommend it for marketing automation.

Pros: Powerful. Generally easy to use. Reporting/metrics. Integration with Salesforce.

Cons: Lack of live support outside of open office hours.

Pros: email marketing templates are helpful and time-saving

Cons: emails end up in spam folders much too often; cannot say with confidence that it is worth the money.

Overall: I have used Pardot for several years, but it stills leaves some to be desired. While the distinctions are clear, it doesn't seem to offer a marked advantage over free email clients, especially for a SMB.

Recommendations to other buyers: improve baseline functionality to the point that it has a clear advantage over free solutions on the market.

Comments: We've used Pardot for just over two years now. I only recently was involved in the backend of Pardot where I learned how to use and develop our processes using it. I feel Pardot could offer a lot more options of tracking and measuring it's effectiveness. There are additional purchases that you will need to make in order to track all of the finer details like videos, clicks etc. It is great B2B, but I'm not convinced it's at it's peek yet. I find myself spending a lot of time searching to find if things are possible, when in reality they are not. Overall, out of the other options I have explored it is the best out there in it's field. I think in a few years time they will develop even more.

Pros: Customer service is near flawless, and they work with us really well. You can make pardot fit your needs, and customise the content you are sending to specific and targeted people.

Cons: Pardot has it's own database with limited space depending on your package. Some things in pardot cannot be tracked - like videos for example. It's simple to use, but lacking in a breadth of options.

Pros: The Salesforce integration is solid, as one would hope, considering they're owned by Salesforce. Good functionality and certainly gives someone who knows what they're dong the power to build some excellent campaigns and automations. The reporting is pretty good.

Cons: The landing page and email builders are a joke, one of the worst in the industry. To do anything decent, you'll need a talented web developer. There's just so many solutions on the market that blow Pardot out of the water in this area. The form builder is better than the landing page builder, but nothing to brag about. The drip campaign builder is powerful, but a user experience nightmare.

Recommendations to other buyers: Haggle like crazy with them! I think they know they're overpriced, so you can probably negotiate a deal that is far below the list price. If they won't give you the price you want, walk away and find another software to use.

Comments: Pardot has allowed us to streamline our email marketing communications while leveraging insights and activities to empower our sales team. The interface for sales reps is easy to navigate and allows them to focus on prospects with high priority. The Engagement Studio offers automation triggered by buying behavior to mitigate some outbound sales efforts. Page Actions, Custom Redirects, and Notifications are easy to manage and provide instant feedback on customer actions. We have our platform integrated with Salesforce, and the lead assignment rules work well. It is a little bit surprising that the amount of custom privilege sets are very low given that Salesforce is the exact opposite, which does lead to some confusion when dealing with overlapping products and representatives. There are some functions I wish we could allow sales reps to utilize (like read-only Segmentation Lists) without having to bump them up to Marketing status. Overall, Pardot has been an excellent tool as we grow our brand and business.

Pros: Email execution and reports Connection to Salesforce Engagement Studio / Drip Programs Page Actions (domain tracking) Clean, easy UI Custom fields

Cons: User privilege sets Mobile-friendly templates

Pros: Pardot offers a user-friendly interface with a great system for nurturing prioritized leads. This software helps to streamline a once complex series of logging in and out of multiple platforms just to achieve one results. A great time saver overall.

Cons: I do not like the payment plan set-up. I feel like there are ways to further incentivize this process.

Overall: Pardot helps you benefit from the huge system of Saleforce behind the scenes while creating amazing marketing segments. This software streamlines the once tedious process of finding the right segments with its intuitive features and user-interface. With the tedious parts automated, there is a better chance you will get results from your leads.

Pros: Pardot make it easy to send/automate emails to those Contacts that reside in Salesforce. In addition, they are always adding more features to increase the usability.

Cons: Unfortunately, Pardot's method for organizing templates, list, campaign and so on is not ideal for me. I rather have my list, campaigns,etc.. broken down by a folder structure instead of one big list. There is an folder structure in place but it's a separate navigation link from the main Marketing object options. This is also prevalent when adding prospects to a list. Deleting campaings can be problematic in my experience. You can't delete a campaign without first deleting the list and email template associated with the campaign. Drip campaigns are not included in the marketing calendar. We do a lot of drip campaigns and this would be useful for user to see when the email is scheduled to go out.

Recommendations to other buyers: I would recommend anyone looking at using Pardot make sure their organization's Account/Contact ownership is cleaned up. Otherwise you run the risk of sending emails from users who are no longer around or from the wrong user.

Pros: It is a very robust tool that has been able to do accommodate everything we've asked of it. I like that if the functionality of a certain part of the tool can't exactly do what I need it to, there are work-around ways and other functionalities that can be creatively configured or strung together to achieve my goals. I really like the way the drip campaign logic is laid out. Very easy and intuitive. The email editor is also very easy to use. I like that there's always something new to learn. I've been using the tool for almost a year and I'm still finding new functionalities to use.

Cons: It had somewhat of a high learning curve when you first start. But I think that's the case with Marketing Automation platforms in general. I still don't fully understand how to generate value from certain reports.

Pros: You can create email campaigns based on behavior.

Cons: Customer Support is lacking and the functionality is complicated.

Overall: We switched from another software to Pardot and realized that some of the expected functionality is missing. What I mean by that is we didn't ask about certain items that we "figured" were there and when we got into the meat of setting up email marketing we became extremely frustrated. Additionally, I didn't realize how spoiled we were with customer service. We were told that there was online chat help but apparently right when we got started it became unavailable for our plan. Little things like only being able to choose a Day to start the email campaign versus a day and time is crazy. I find myself getting up at 6am to be able to start a campaign on time because that's when my target audience is checking their email. If I create my campaign at 3pm on Thursday, my only choice is to start it the same time on any given day in the future. Additionally, the list segmentation is more complicated than it needs to be. Overall, it does allow you to create campaigns based on behavior and score your audience, etc. However, everything is more complicated and the customer support is lacking. There are better softwares available with better customer support for less money.

Recommendations to other buyers: Make sure you do thorough research about the functions that are most important to your company.

Comments: In my experience as a Marketing Automation Specialist over the past two years, I have encountered numerous clients who have experienced horror stories with other marketing automation platforms. Whether it was over complicated work flows, inconsistent reporting or terrible customer support - there was always a bad experience that made people hesitant about whether they could manage Pardot. The biggest way Pardot empowers their users is by their extensive blog with tips and tricks to get their marketing campaigns off the ground, their amazing customer support and their partnership with willing and able consultants and implementation specialists.

The system is user friendly with a consistent UI that maintains familiarity between different functions. Immediate integration with SFDC, and the ability to connect with several other systems, makes Pardot the best choice to get tracking on all areas of your marketing efforts. The ability to run a campaign, whether a product launch, webinar or general lead nurturing, from start to finish out of one system is great for SMBs with limited time and resources. In addition to being a beneficial tool for marketers, Pardot also makes sales teams more efficient by allowing them to follow up with the leads that have expressed the most interest and not waste time on ones that are not ready or have grown cold - and instead add them to a lead nurturing campaign that will alert them in that lead takes action again.

Pros: The two things I like most about Pardot are the abilities to setup and customize automation rules (which saves a ton of time), and then the integration with Salesforce CRM. The integration has it's downsides but as a whole it's a significant improvement over any other 3rd party marketing automation in terms of integrating with Salesforce.

Cons: While Pardot covers the marketing automation piece exceptionally well, we ended up moving to HubSpot for one reason - HubSpot has a website building tool for us to host our entire website on, while Pardot does not. Pardot has the ability to create and publish landing pages, which is necessary for marketing automation, but we needed a tool for our entire website not just landing pages, so it made sense for us to move to HubSpot.

Pros: I enjoy having the ability to create custom parameters to push through our CRM with the proper attribution.

Cons: Pardot can get a bit confusing, especially when creating new systems for tracking. That being said, it is a good tool.

Pros: I like the insights that you get from sent emails. It's not better than many of the tools out there but I appreciate the simplicity of the reports that surface only the data you need.

Cons: Pardot jargon is different than other tools terms for marketing automation.

When something breaks, it's hard to identify and even harder to fix

Programatizing emails is harder than it should be. And having to create multiple email templates seems inefficient.

Overall: It's cheap. Like almost free with our SFDC subscription. Makes it hard to rip and replace when you're a small team.

Pros: Ease of use

Cons: Support is lacking

Overall: Very user friendly but not to many features. The support could be a little better with a better handle time. Also, the update release could be communicated out to customers a lot better. Sometimes we don't know when changes are being made.

Recommendations to other buyers: More features would be helpful

Comments: We were pressure sold on pardot even though we are a consumer-facing company. They sold us on the premise that it could do everything and more. Additionally they sold that the integration is superior to other solutions because it is owned by SFDC. That's also untrue. It really has only one purpose, to convert a prospect to a sales call. So I suppose if that's your use case, it may work. If you want to remarket a close lost opp, that's a hassle. Want to mail merge unique links from custom fields and track them? Well, you can't do that. Want to add a 15 minute time delay to an email? Can't do that. Want to A/B test within a drip campaign? yup you guessed it, can't do that either. Want to email existing customers to upsell? That's a nightmare. And the support has not been great - they only contact you when you go over the limit. No offer to help. My recommendation would be to use anything but Pardot.

Pros: It is incredibly robust. My favorite feature is Page Actions, which allow us to keep track of prospects as they move around on our site and act on them when they visit pages that we have deemed most important. I've also found a lot of value in the ability to assign completion actions to certain prospects' actions. It is completely automated and saves us time in the long run.

Cons: It seems like there are still a lot of areas where this product could be improved. For being owned by Salesforce, it seems the integration isn't quite as tight as it could be (eg., it takes up to 24 hours to sync some data between the two). Another pain point is lack of mobile optimized landing pages. We have had to have one of our developers devote his time to building out pages that are mobile optimized since the product currently lacks that feature.

Recommendations to other buyers: Pardot has a lot of potential in the future, and I think will be a frontrunner within the next couple of years. As it currently stands, however, I think a few other solutions (i.e. Marketo, Hubspot) may be a bit out in front of the pack. Evaluate what you are currently looking for and where you want your marketing automation to go in the future.

Clunky, to say the least.

Pros: Pardot is a fairly robust platform with significant functuonality. Good news for this platform is that there's no restriction on oass-through data to Salesforce.

Cons: Don't even THINK about this platform unless you're on Salesforce, there would be no advantage. While Pardot does have some reasonable power in scoring and automation, the functionality is far better in platforms like Marketo. The biggest issue is how arduous anything is on the platform. Clearly built by developers this platform has templates that are difficult to vustomize and an overall complexity not found w/ other MA platforms. Unless you REQUIRE unlimited SF integration, save yourself the oain and get Hubspot or Marketo.

Overall: Provides good exposure to customer interaction.

Pros: The reputation level of Pardot is the highest among any marketing automation software we have tried, so our deliverability rates are excellent. Also, the data and business intelligence Pardot makes available is far and away the best we have seen anywhere. It is extremely helpful and makes it possible to refine our marketing to specifically target segments of our audience.

Cons: Having a background working with salesforce, the upload and attributes search functions are not quite to the capability of salesforce, but that may be something improved within Pardot down the road, to make it function even more like salesforce.

Recommendations to other buyers: Consider deliverability, ease of use, customer service and what do you really want to get out of the application. If you are new to Marketing automation, it may be best to consider an agency to assist with the ramp up, it will be a greater expense initially, but it will help to ramp up faster and make sure you get the most out of your investment.

Pros: Creation of any asset is really easy - simple WYSIWYG editor

Cons: Chat is rarely online
limited functionality (and a limit of) with automation rules

Overall: Pardot has been AWESOMELY better than Marketo. Really, my only problems are that the Automation Rules aren't as flexible as smart campaigns in Marketo (and they're limited - No If this, then that, but If this other thing, than have a different action). Additionally, the chat support is almost never on. Other than that, it's a marked improvement over Marketo - much more intuitive and user friendly.

Recommendations to other buyers: It's not perfect, but it's such a huge improvement over what we had before.

Pros: It's very user friendly, my sales associates do not have to be super technically savvy to use and understand it. As a sales coach, I use Pardot to show my associates the effectiveness of their email campaigns. Some send too many emails, and some don't send enough. By using Pardot in conjunction with a call recording tool, we can evaluate better if they are relying too heavily on email and not using best sales practices.

Cons: I like everything. It's a fantastic tool. There's really not anything I would recommend changing.

Recommendations to other buyers: Get it!! It is so valuable for sales associates to see customers' activity to plan for follow up calls, and it can be a great coaching tool.

Pros: Pardot is user friendly and I really like to new layout. The capabilities and insights it provides for marketing automation is great and allows us to connect with salesforce to see marketing activity and true deal flow.

Cons: I think there are some inefficiencies as it relates to video. You can't set automation rules for videos. While wistia is part of Pardot, I think there could be more flexibility to incorporate video into drop campaigns etc.

Recommendations to other buyers: Take a look at all your technologies and if Marketing automation is something you are looking for, make sure it meets the needs for your organization and can be integrated easily.

Pros: I love how Pardot syncs directly with SalesForce and allows for any organization you can imagine.

Cons: I run into a lot of issues not because Pardot is a bad tool, but because I do so much with Pardot that I have very high expectations of how quickly or seamlessly something should work. In these cases, I wish Pardot Support was easier for me to contact. Open cases seem to have been removed from the website and I'm not often using Pardot during live chat hours.

Recommendations to other buyers: The best recommendation I have is to carefully evaluate what LEVEL of marketing automation you are ready for as a company. Just because you can afford something, doesn't mean you can afford to run with it. While your site may need Pardot in the future, it may be realistic to start with a smaller CMS/CRM combo.

Comments: Overall, I have thoroughly enjoyed using this product and would recommend it to any business looking for a savvy inbound marketing strategy!

Pros: Ease of use, intuitive design, excellent (and abundant) reporting features, several tiers of customer support and a thorough knowledge base, communicates incredibly well with Salesforce (naturally) and is chock-full of helpful and user-friendly templates and creation wizards that make each element flow unto each other, all with a set of very prudent organizational tools!

Cons: I really don't have much to say in the way of cons - it was a learning curve getting started, but coming from a rather mundane marketing background with little experience in such a complicated software, it was honestly relatively easy to pick up, particularly when partnered with an implementation expert!

Pros: Pardot integrates seamlessly with Saleforce, so if you are using Salesforce for your CRM, this system will work well for you. The software in general is good, and the email building is superior to anything else I have used, however, the functionality is limited compared to other marketing automation software, and the price is similar.

Cons: Pardot does not have a robust blogging platform that tracks your key word rankings like other marketing automation software of similiar cost. In addition, it does not optimize email sending times and days based on your past performance. And there is no social media integration.

I've never seen such a quick response.

Cons: Although it has tight integration with Salesforce, but I'd very well like it to be part of Salesforce platform so that we don't need to sync data between two systems. And Pardot can directly help market to contacts in Salesforce. Plus I'd like the support for web-hooks as completed action which gives endless possibilities for integrations.

Pros: I cannot say enough great things about Pardot. This tool has allowed our small team do the impossible. We are able to communicate to our prospects and clients on their time, with information they are interested in. We are able to easily see what channels are performing and which are not. We can tweak our campaigns on the fly and we tracking our prospects and where they are coming from even with very long sales cycles. The tool took a little bit to understand at first, but once we got the main concept the tool is so super easy to use. Getting help and support has not been difficult and they are very easy to work with. LOVE the SalesForce integration. We couldn't use the tool without it!

Cons: I don't have any complaints. Took awhile to get used to Pardot's meaning of "campaign" but now we have it :)

Pros: Nothing exciting - basic functionality. I'm not impressed.

Cons: I was sold on the Salesforce integration but in actually there are other products that are not owned by Salesforce that have a better integration. Connector breaks all the time. You reverify, and there is no live support number to call for quick support. The email marketing system is also a bit antiquated doesn't offer easy drag and drop features, CSS buttons, inbox previews or RSS to email - leaves much to be desired. Social media feature is very weak at best, no social monitoring for tracking prospects and customers just a basic scheduling feature. Dynamic lists are not that dynamic; neither is the automation or updates. Their system can handle at best batch updates instead of instant updates like other systems. Forms load in iframes, not javascript, so it doesn't always load cohesively with your web page. There is no easy way to segment visitors to only view companies that fit in your target range.

Recommendations to other buyers: Please do your research before you are locked into the one-year contract. Just because they Pardot is owned by Salesforce doesn't mean it works beautifully with your Salesforce. It's more of marketing tactic than an actual reality

Comments: A simple to use but powerful marketing automation tool. Easy to follow drip campaign functionality. Automation rules have a lot of power (although one annoying issue as listed below).

Pros: The Pardot for outlook and lead deck apps are fantastic and really powerful.

Cons: Reporting is fairly basic and hard to get much depth The sync with Salesforce could definitely be faster. The lead database is generally fine but hard to do the occasional manual updates you might want to do, i.e. quickly select a few leads and add them to a campaign without having to create a whole automation rule. Automation rules can't be rerun - they have to be cloned and recreated which is fairly stupid.

Pros: Salesforce obviously saw something in Pardot, and bought it for good reason. The bones of a great product are there, and there are some great, easy to use features for new companies with no prior marketing experience.

Cons: Salesforce seems to have forgotten about Pardot. They've updated the interface slightly, but have done the bare minimum to integrate it with the rest of the Salesforce platform. Support is lacklustre at best, often times giving nonsensical or incorrect answers.

Overall: Confirmation that we were using the wrong product, and to choose any other marketing software.

Pros: Pardot automated the prospect warming process. We've set it up to respond to quotes, alert internal staff and add them to a mailing list. The mailing list is the automated and changes based on their actions. Eg. if they enquire about product A in a week we send a follow up email about product A. If they click a link in the email we send them a second follow up the next day. If they didn't open the email then we send them an email about product B a week later.

Cons: The biggest drawback is Pardot works best with Salesforce. We have salesforce and it's great but for people without salesforce it might be an added expense.

Pros: I like the connection with SalesForce and it has some really good connectors to other 3rd party tools like Wistia that provides great insight.

Cons: The reporting for most marketing automation is disjointed when it comes to getting clear campaign reports in Pardot and to show those results in SalesForce. I wish there was better out of the box reporting when using their two native products.

Pros: It's extremely powerful. I love how easy it is to populate lists, track reports, websites, emails, etc. We used to have Constant Contact here but glad we switched over to Pardot.

Cons: I'm a graphic designer for a 2 billion dollar company, and the ease of use when it comes to designing can be a struggle at times. It can be glitchy when designing landing pages and emails. For example, when I upload an image and then need to adjust a word or picture on that image and try to replace it, there is an option overwrite over the old one, but it never allows me to, causing us to have to import two images and delete an old one. Kind of a pain. When it's a finished product, our newsletters look much improved compared to Constant Contact, and we overall have a much cleaner look using Pardot but would like to see some more design options and improvements soon.

Recommendations to other buyers: It is a very powerful tool that allows you to reach the masses and also keep track of your efforts easily.

We use Pardot as our main marketing automation software.

Pros: I really like that this lives within salesforce. It is nice to be able to see all the activity of a lead in one spot.

Cons: There are a few oddities - there is no spellcheck on the email creator which is kind of annoying. It's also a mindset change from other automation software - not as user-friendly.

Overall: Full transparency of a contacts activity!

Pros: Pardot has revamped how marketers can build customer journeys. The interface is intuitive and slick. It simplifies what could be a complex process.

Cons: The social media listening tools are not as good as competing products.

Recommendations to other buyers: Think about the whole marketing ecosystem you need. If you need one solution to manage your website, blog, landing pages, emails, social, etc., this isn't quite it. If you need a customer journey and email marketing solution, this will work just fine. This seems to make the most sense for enterprise businesses who have marketing teams for various functions and products. Especially if they are already using Salesforce. The integration to Salesforce is seamless and won't require much additional resources or budget to complete. For smaller and mid-market companies who need more of an all-in-one, this doesn't quite have everything you need (yet). You will also have to pay at a higher tier for support, which could be very valuable, especially if you are new to marketing automation. If you have experience with marketing automation, you probably won't need support as much.

Pardot is all you hoped the others would be but with the right price.

Pros: Easy to use and configure. Great reporting and workflows. Engagement studio is a game changer and will definitely drive results.

Cons: Drilling down on reports isn¿t as intuitive as the rest of the tools. When running a campaign, it isn¿t as easy as point and click to get to the results. You have to know where to look and go.
