### "Does the job but don't expect custom reporting"

I think Pardot gets you 2/3rds of the way their with Marketing automation and you have to augment with other tools to get the rest of the way. If you use SalesForce connected to Pardot then you really have to do all of your reporting in SalesForce or it gets really confusing trying to sync the two together.

Pros

I like that they have a landing page builder but their user interface for building landing pages should be more competitive with what's in the market. I like their email campaign builder interface and the drip marketing tool.

Cons

Their reporting is lacking because you can't customize it. It's hard to really know track leads through the pipeline and recycle them when they aren't ready to buy. The tagging and folder structure isn't intuitive and takes a bit to get used to.

We are very happy with pardot and look forward to implementing more of the features pardot has to offer.

Pros

We use pardot primarily for our email marketing, but also for inbound lead gen as well. I love how well pardot integrates into salesforce. That is key for our business. You can change anything at the field level using pardot based on activity etc, and segment based on any field.

Cons

There are features such as advanced analytics that are more advanced on the higher levels of pardot, however the cost increase is significant.

### "Definitely a great way to sort leads"

Besides the functionality of using Pardot on the sales team, I know the marketing team and exec team loved the dashboards. The marketing team was also able to capture many prospect details from the easy to create beautiful, customizeable content where most of our leads came from. It's definitely an added bonus to help create the pipeline and sort it effectively.

Pros

I really liked how the leads were sorted into ones that were immediately "hot" and with Salesforce mobile, I could even do it on my long train commute home. It was also a good indicator of which leads to focus on. Since our sales cycle can also be really long, it also was helpful to see how long the prospect has been in the system and how knowledgeable they might be about us. As a newer salesperson it was helpful.

Cons

I wish some of the pro features were available at the standard price. If we could see the Google Adwords that led our prospects directly to the site easier, it would be much helpful. It is available, so it's not too bad of a downside, however, it is if that feature is too expensive for your budget at the moment.

### "Needs some attention"

Overall the easy of implementation and access are nice but Pardot did not work for us because we were just too big and had too many campaigns it was hard to handle everything in Pardot.

Pros

I loved that Pardot was purchased by Salesforce and it all fell under one umbrella- since it was a salesforce platform the ease of integration and user friendliness was very comparable to SF- it made it easy for me, an SF admin, to find my way around and integrate it easily.

Cons

It had a lot of flaws- almost like it was bought and released too quickly without a lot of Q&A being done, I often times said "why would they set it up like this"- it was a little harder to get detailed and complicated with email marketing trends- it is made for smaller companies with not a lot of activity it seemed.

Reason for choosing Salesforce Marketing Cloud Account Engagement

We had 2 platforms at once, Marketo and Pardot, we ended up removing and getting rid of Pardot and just keeping Marketo as it was easier and we had more complicated campaigns we needed to run that were hard to support on Pardot.

### "Pardot for some things, not quite all"

Pardot helps us stay on top of automating as much marketing as we can. The main things that keep us from doing that are the design needs - it's always easier just to do things in the HTML - and figuring out campaign tracking for non-email analytics.

Pros

Pardot makes automating marketing activities simple, whether you're setting up lead gen forms and responder emails or just creating email campaigns. It connects with Salesforce and helps keep lead owners and other information updated that prior to had been a pain.

Cons

Its campaign tracking really only tracks . It can only track social if the posts are scheduled in Pardot. Email and landing page editors aren't as full-featured for simple design edits.

I have used quite a few email marketing platforms and I would rand this right in the middle. The data and Salesforce syncing are top of the line, but the email customization leaves a lot to be desired.

Pros

This software is intuitive and easy to learn/use. The engagement studio makes tracking leads and their interactions great. The Salesforce sync makes this so easy to communicate email metrics and leads with the sales team without any manual processing.

Cons

There are plenty of niche things that can not be easily customized, like email layout, without creating and uploading an entire new layout. This is certainly not ideal when wanting to have different looks to different emails. While list segmentation is an option, I do wish there were more customizable ways to target, like easily suppressing opens/clicks/etc from an email without needing to create an entire new list with these parameters set.

Pros

The fact that it integrates natively with Salesforce is Pardot's best feature. The engagement studio automation product is great as well, making it really easy to create drip campaigns and other conditional flows.

Cons

The email builder is 10 years behind competitor's builders. To get things to behave, you have to code emails in html. The WYSIWG builder is poor, but asset management of images and files is even worse. Competitors like MailChimp and ActiveCampaign have much better platforms for designing beautiful, responsive emails.

Lead capture. Lead scoring. Email drip funnels. Email marketing. Connecting with Salesforce.

Pros

The software is solid, reliable and the feature set covers all I have needed so far in my marketing and lead generation. I use it primarily for forms, lead capture, email newsletters, drip funnels and lead scoring. The close integration with Salesforce means the sales team can answer their own questions and see what we are doing with leads.

Cons

The companies I work with that use Pardot are mid-size. Their use is as much about future proofing their systems as its features. However, for smaller companies, it would suggest that it is too expensive for their immediate needs. The interface can be complicated but that is due to the big feature set. If you have used other marketing automation software you can use this easily.

I am Pardot certified and it has been an extremely helpful tool in my Marketing career. It can do very complex marketing tasks but is a great entry point.

Pros

Powerful marketing automation tool that integrates extremely well with the Salesforce platform. Easy to learn, hard to master.

Cons

Things have improved, but considering it's under the same roof as Salesforce, the integration is clearly an afterthought. I think it does it better than other tools, but not as well as it could have been.

Pros

Pardots UI is clean and updated, making it easy to use. At first glance, the simplified interface makes it seem like the product is limited, but once you become proficient with automation rules, dynamic lists, and completion actions you'll find that its very configurable and can suit a variety of processes and workflows. It's just a different mindset from a Marketo or Hubspot in terms of approaching some of the workflows, nurtures, drips, etc.

Cons

Really lacking in reporting across the board and no visibility into accounts for organizations using account-based marketing and/or sales processes, everything is organized by prospect only.

Easy to setup and basic integration with Salesforce. It is good for it's price point.

Pros

Pardot is very easy to use for the most basic purposes such as sending out emails and generating lists using metadata from both your Pardot and Salesforce database. Tracking peoples journeys along your website is also a plus.

Cons

The software is limited vs Hubspot and other competitors. Reporting is not as robust and integration with Salesforce (the confusing 'Pardot Campaign' vs 'Salesforce Campaign' for example) can be frustrating. Do not expect to be able to get the level of website analytics you do in Google Analytics or the tracking ability available in Hubspot.

Pros

The integration with Salesforce is the best thing about Pardot. The ability to create dynamic lists and automatically sync through Salesforce to use custom fields, etc. is key for a targeted email strategy. The integration itself is very intuitive.

Cons

The email functionality lack significantly. We've had nothing but issues trying to create email templates through Pardot. Text will not format properly. Their workaround to center text is to create tables with invisible borders. You have to create call-to-action buttons using a third-party website and copy/paste their HTML into Pardot's HTML view. Even when doing this, more often than not, the button text does not format properly, even when we've had Pardot's team double check our coding. They can never find a fix. Our fix -- until Pardot updates its email functionality -- is to create emails in a different email tool (that's free, mind you...) and copy/paste its HTML into Pardot's.

Pardot is a Salesforce Marketing extension, and I really liked to use both applications. There are different API connectors that can be used to integrate other software I use, like webinar software.

Pros

Easy to send emails and track activity. Reporting is very easy with all important data right on the dashboard and on the campaign canvas.

Cons

Possibly, templates can be created and WYSIWYG editor used, but we programmed emails in html, which was really time consuming.

If you are ready to take your email marketing to the next level, Pardot is the way to do it. Be prepared to learn and be a tad frustrated at first, but once you get it going it is totally worth it.

Pros

The amount of things you can do with this platform is virtually limitless. Yes, it takes a good deal of practice to figure out what you have to do but once it clicks, it makes perfect sense. Mailchimp and Constant Contact will never be the same!

Cons

It has a pretty steep learning curve at the beginning. Some common terms (ex. campaign) have completely different meanings inside Pardot. It's not the prettiest tool in terms of UI/UX but it gets the job done.

It only makes sense if you have people to build HTML email interfaces in external softwares that can be then imported to Pardot. I do not like building emails directly in it unless I have a template. Landing Pages need a lot of work not to seem like we're in the 90's. Overall it makes the job, but only for basic needs.

Pros

Segmentation is really easy to run. Calendar with all emails sent and quick view of the reports are also helpful.

Cons

User Interface can be tricky sometimes... most of the navigation is not very intuitive and even know you can learn by watching/reading tutorials, building emails can be stressful due to responsiveness errors in the building page or even because the page is too small depending on the device size you're using. And the fact they don't let you have PDF report is really bad and increases the work of sharing results with the rest of the team.

Overall I really like Pardot because it syncs with Salesforce and allows us to automate tasks that help the sales team make timely follow ups specific to the actions a recipient takes. For example, if a recipient opens an email and downloads a specific guide we can automatically let the sales person know that person downloaded that specific guide and to follow up on it.

Pros

Pardot is perfect for companies that use Salesforce and also have a multiple person sales team. It has advanced automation features, and allows you to send emails from sales reps and insert dynamic content to make that email from the rep seem personalized. Dyamic content can be anything from the typical first name, company name, to custom dynamic content that's unique to whatever your needs are. Because Pardot syncs with Salesforce it also allows you to assign sales members tasks based on behaviors the recipients of the emails are taking which is great for strategic and timely sales follow up.

Cons

The email editor could be better and easier to use. There isn't an undo button which is very frustrating. If you need to undo something you pretty much have to start over.

This software has allowed us to add marketing automation to our own internal marketing where we had none before.

Pros

This program has allowed us to integrate automated marketing where we had none, and keep excellent track of it along the way. I like how customizable every aspect of it is, from the email templates to the landing pages. The customer support is very extensive, and I really enjoy the office hours they hold weekly where you can ask the product engineers questions and learn from other Pardot users.

Cons

They market this as being a program a non-developer/designer could use, which is probably technically true, but you would not be getting the full value from it without someone with at least basic HTML/CSS knowledge. The templates that are included with the program are not very engaging and most of them are not mobile responsive. This took our company a LOT of time to figure out how to implement. The documentation is extensive but sometimes hard to comb through. Your best bet is getting on with the office hours so they can point you to the right article.

The whole page is too slow to load.Some times getting bugs which make the schedule busy.
