There is a huge amount of customization and automation that you can do with the Marketing Cloud. And it's connected in with Salesforce, so it can be used to generate new Leads, update Salesforce records, and automate tasks.

Cons

It can be clunky to set up the customer databases and connect the corresponding fields between Salesforce & Marketing Cloud.

Pros

It is designed to manage b2b leads. The best thing is that it is 100% synchronised with Salesforce and the data connection is perfect

Cons

If you have complex needs such as third party platforms or need to manage b2c leads, it is a tool that has major limitations.

### "Lot of things can be done, but very slow platform"

Pros

I like the Journey Builder - it gives us a lot of options, we can easily make segments and target people, and it's visually pleasing. The Intelligence reports are very good and very significant. It helps us to track data, and have a overview of KPIs.

Cons

The platform can be very slow, bugs are often, the interface looks old, it's not easy to navigate like in Sales or Service Cloud. Even simple thing need to be done in complex way. The platform needs improvement.

Great ability to score leads from email marketing campaigns and find the most qualified prospects to focus on.

Pros

Pardot is great because as an Account Executive, every lead and contact I work with in CRM has a field called Pardot Score. Based on scoring criteria related to opening an email, clicking a link, etc, I can really find the most qualified leads to focus on any given day or week.

Cons

Compared to other email marketing software that I have used, Pardot is really the best one that I've used. Not much experience in creating campaigns though.

We are solving a great business challenging which is a business that is scaling fast, sometimes its hard to keep up but this product makes challenges more easier.

Pros

Out of the box you are able to integrate with your salesforce objects which is powerful. Build automation with your entire marketing stack. I feel like with this marketing product you can take your marketing customer connections to a whole new level.

Cons

I don't find any setbacks or drawbacks with this software. Just have to find the right talent to implement this software right the first time.

We just quit our Pardot contract and moved to a competitor that was half the price and that so far has hands-on customer support.

Pros

I mainly used Pardot for sending emails and adding forms to our company's website.

Cons

Once Salesforce bought Pardot, the customer service experience got very bad. It was incredibly hard to find answers to y questions or to get live support. I had to create a Salesforce developer account in order to even see the Help area for Pardot. I don't use Salesforce for our CRM, though. It was very awkward and cumbersome.

Pros

The UI is fantastic and super intuitive. Feels good to use, which is important as we use this daily.

Cons

Implementation was cookie-cutter and conducted by a Third Party, which didn't take into consideration any of our business processes. As a result, we lost the ability to fully automate a large portion of the platform. Support is the absolute worst. Their live in-app chat has now disappeared completely, but even before this it was impossible to reach anyone or get a decent answer regarding most problems. Forget about their Knowledgebase, as you need to buy a separate Salesforce licence to access it. Warning: If you're buying this, you will NEED a technical front end developer to integrate it properly into your website, design forms to match, build email templates and landing pages. You COULD use their stock templates, but they're not device responsive and are super bland.

I have been able to run customer journey email programs and I've been able to see into our campaign analytics through third party integrators. The advanced and robust analytics really stand out to me and make us realize the return on our investment over the course of our campaign journeys.

Pros

I have gotten the most out of using Pardot becuase it connects directly to our CRM database, provides campaign analytics all the way down the marketing funnel, and there is a strong team behind Pardot that is always making product enhancements.

Cons

Some features are lacking in how you can customize and personalize email campaigns, in particular relating to landing page development, email template design and email deliverability.

I enjoy using Pardot, but as I've worked with other marketers it sounds as though other available options may offer a more robust feature set.

Pros

Engagement studio helps build out the logic for drip and nurture campaigns very easily, making it very easy to conceptualize and implement without constant doubt.

Cons

The email and landing page builders often display strangely and are a little clunky to use overall. The search functionality is very basic and does not always pull up the results it should, and reporting is also minimal.

Not much other then the connection to Salesforce. That is the only true advantage I see at this point.

Pros

Has most of the basic features you need for marketing automation. Plugs into SFDC pretty nicely. Can teach yourself the system by just playing around.

Cons

Customer support is non-existent. Nickel and dime you based on prospects in your database. The product is not user-friendly compared to the other products that are popping up on the scene, especially for a lot less money. Their new "help center" is a mess.

We were shopping the market for a marketing automation solution. Having already purchased and implemented every salesforce.com tool, we had a level of expectation with Pardot that as a Salesforce.com owned brand, they would bring their "A-game". This was a very bad assumption. The initial sales process was great, the Account Executive did his job, sold the solution and introduced us to an implementation partner. They were awful. Non of the objectives were achieved, resulting in a solution that was not fit for purpose. Pardot exponentially are growing their sales teams, yet they are not growing the support function at the same rate. Telephone support is not provided (they will argue that they do provide call back support), however you have to pay more for this. Let me get this right, you are paying as much for Pardot as it costs to buy a Fiat 500 car and you don't provide telephone support for your product? Basic questions would take hours and days to get answers to, you could Tweet the company (they ignore support tweets), you can even tweet the founder and he'll ignore you. Pardot has great functionality but it is supported by people who do not understand that email support is not enough when you are working to deadlines. If I can call McDonalds about an issue with a $4 purchase, you need to make sure you provide telephone support for a multi-thousand dollar transaction!

Pros

Simple and sleek interface Account Executives are pro-active and exceptionally knowledgable

Cons

Lack of effective support Difficult to implement via their "self service" tools Likely will be connected to a poor implementation partner

The learning curve can be tough if you're not a power user, it's not drag and drop or user friendly at all. You need an experienced person to set up and run making it difficult to scale

Ability to set up automation sequences to ensure every lead gets touched and imported into SFDC

Building of landing pages is cumbersome as each LP requires a unique form. The form + landing page management is confusing and time consuming.

I have had a good enough experience with Pardot in terms of onboarding and free ongoing training.

Pros

I like the user interface and free office hours.

Cons

There's no ability to easily update a custom funnel retroactively, but I think this is a limitation for all of the marketing automation tools. Often times, our MQLs, SALs criteria change, and we want to see how our marketing progress has changed retroactively. Lacks a lot of integration with other third party tools.

Another service offered is the ability to connect with your users and customers no matter where you are. Cons

The prospect details page could be a little more simplified. I find that it can overwhelm you with information that might not apply to the prospect.

Pros

The number of customers it can handle is surprising, justifying its price. It also allows you to measure the results of each marketing campaign. In the long run it reduces costs to acquire new customers.

Cons

The cost makes it an unviable option for small and medium-sized companies, even with the most economical plan. It is a slightly complex software, so it requires qualified personnel.

Reason for choosing Salesforce Marketing Cloud Account Engagement

I considered it because of a previous experience in another job where I could see its application, in addition, there was already a software that would facilitate its integration (Salesforce CMR).

Simply great. There was a lot to learn but the customer success manager we had was great, not to mention the excellent community and training material available on the web. Took a while for us to get it up and running but now we couldn't operate without it.

Cons

Very expensive and doesn't make much sense to use it without Salesforce Sales Cloud.

I am a pardot fan. Learning the ins and outs of pardot has helped get me two different jobs now, so I am glad that I was introduced to it. I would recommend it as a marketing automation tool, especially if you use salesforce.

Pros

I like the marketing automation features. Sending emails. Engagement studio. Stuff like that. I also like how well it connects to salesforce. Great feature to have with your marketing automation system.

Cons

Campaigns are not helpful at all since they don't directly connect to salesforce campaigns, so that is frustrating. Some limitations to email design. Overall not too much to complain about though.

With Pardot, we are able to track the behavior of people interested in our company and send more personalized emails to them, which is huge. The actual process of creating beautiful emails is a total disaster on Pardot, which I would not wish on my worst enemy. When I do that part, I miss MailChimp. But Pardot has way more options than MailChimp in many other areas. So, a mixed bag.

Pros

The CRM functionality is really amazing. It's easy to assign Scores to leads and make and edit Dynamic Lists, which is at the heart of our sales plan.

Cons

The system for designing emails is archaic. Like, is someone filming me and laughing? Oh, you want to add a simple section at the bottom? It's easy. Just edit the... HTML code. I do not code and that is why I love drag and drop when I need to edit my email template.
