Using other marketing automation systems, Pardot is far behind the curve missing decent organization and a mixture of capabilities. They seem to miss the concept of modern inbound marketing. The claim that they are better because they are so closely tied with Salesforce is horribly misleadig, other MA systems work just as well with SF.

Pros

It's better than nothing, I suppose.

Cons

Of all its many problems, how much you need to pay to get support other than by email with a 3+ day turnaround is outrageous.

Its basic function which I really appreciate is to develop collaboration among sales and marketing teams to achieve most crucial targets. I strongly recommend it to other companies which needs an effective platform.

Pros

Salesforce Pardot aiming to focus operations sales related business in which it mainly analyzes on every single step of the sales cycle in which customers make its offerings. I love the features and functionalities it provides. It is really effective CRM product.

Cons

There is one issue that I would highlight, I would just say, its price should be reduced in order to give more convenience to its all users.

Full transparency of a contacts activity!

Pros

I really like that this lives within salesforce. It is nice to be able to see all the activity of a lead in one spot.

Cons

There are a few oddities - there is no spellcheck on the email creator which is kind of annoying. It's also a mindset change from other automation software - not as user-friendly.

Pros

Pardot offers all the needed features to properly scale a marketing automation team. It makes it easy to schedule custom emails for events, promotions, and general marketing. I love the list building features which make it easy to include and exclude from large amounts of contacts in Salesforce

Cons

The setup process is very complicated and requires a paid consultant to ensure it is done correctly.

We've used Pardot for just over two years now. I only recently was involved in the backend of Pardot where I learned how to use and develop our processes using it. I feel Pardot could offer a lot more options of tracking and measuring it's effectiveness. There are additional purchases that you will need to make in order to track all of the finer details like videos, clicks etc. It is great B2B, but I'm not convinced it's at it's peek yet. I find myself spending a lot of time searching to find if things are possible, when in reality they are not. Overall, out of the other options I have explored it is the best out there in it's field. I think in a few years time they will develop even more.

Pros

Customer service is near flawless, and they work with us really well. You can make pardot fit your needs, and customise the content you are sending to specific and targeted people.

Cons

Pardot has it's own database with limited space depending on your package. Some things in pardot cannot be tracked - like videos for example. It's simple to use, but lacking in a breadth of options.

We started working with Pardot about two years ago when we first implemented Sales Force. it was a great solution for the types of B-to-B marketing emails we were hoping to start producing more of. We have still not fully unlocked the full potential of the platform, but the more we learn about the automation capabilities and integration with Sales Force the more excited and eager to learn we get. Our biggest struggle is that in our business we have some accounts that will use the same email address, which Pardot does not allow. We will be setting up a training soon to help us better understand engagement studio so that we can start executing on some smarter campaigns.

Pros

automation, reporting, metrics, custom URL redirects, Sales Force integration

Cons

duplicate email issue, also there is so much it can do but sometimes it is a challenge to identify the best way to use all of the features.

Pros

I honestly don't know - this software is one of the least user-friendly systems I have ever had to use. If you have Salesforce, it's nice to have the simple integration, but that's about the end of the positives on my list.

Cons

Everything. Maybe it's because I've been spoiled by other CRM systems, but Pardot just isn't user-friendly. Setting up automation is tedious and leaves a lot of room for error, list segmentation is a joke, and the overall program just isn't designed well. You're constantly left Googling how to do things because the system is so awful. The only reason I used this is because I worked at an agency and the client demanded we use it.

### "Customer service sorely lacking, but a solid tool"

Pros

I liked that it was an all-in-one tool and building workflows was very easy.

Cons

The customer service was subpar. We had a fairly substantial $25k contract and still did not have access to any telephone support. We could only use chat support and their chat was often unavailable. This was the primary reason we ended up transitioning to a new product.

We use this to help manage leads that come from a variety of online sources and get them into SalesForce.

Pros

It links with SalesForce which is the main reason we are using it.

Cons

We've had to implement multiple work arounds to get things working properly and even then we run into issues pretty regularly. Requires a lot of setup time and is going to be difficult for a standard user to implement. Support is difficult to reach and often times doesn't solve the issue because so many features simply aren't offered or don't work well.

Pardot will score a prospect on the level of engagement they have with your website. The higher a prospect scores, it's more likely that they are interested in your product. Makes it easy to know when to reach out to older prospects.

Pros

Great for knowing that clients are interested.

Cons

A high pardot score does not always mean they are very interested in your product.

Ease of use for my team members that do not know how to code requiring me to have less hands on time once the initial templates were made.

Pros

I'm most familiar with the email, landing page, and form features of pardot. If you're a basic user, with no interest on heavily customizing things it works well. There a ton of preset templates and documentation to walk you through all of the features.

Cons

If you're a designer or developer and you want things to be laid out differently than the preset templates you will have some difficulty finding documentation. I had to rely heavily on blogs to figure out how to customize the layout of the landing pages. Also, writing code for emails and inserting it into the templates for testing is a pain. It usually ends up taking 20 minutes just to receive a test when other email testing services could be down in a minutes tops.

Pardot is part of the Salesforce ecosystem so it's easy to connect your CRM to marketing efforts. It has every feature you would ever need. It's easy to get up and running

Cons

It's expensive, as is everything with Salesforce. It can take a while to set up marketing campaign drip rules and such, but once it's set up, it's just a matter of creating the content.

I was able to track a sales lead from point of entry (email marketing), through their activity on our website downloading ebooks, to a product demonstration and eventually a closed deal. Perfect example of tracking the marketing journey from beginning to end.

Pros

It's so easy to create visually-exciting emails in Pardot, with all the editing tools you need. Importing prospects and creating lists is simple and quick. Email reports are insightful and help me easily keep track of email marketing performance. Organise and track multiple campaigns at once.

Cons

Video embedding seems to not work properly. Otherwise, I've not encountered any significant issues with Pardot's interface.

It's a great marketing automation platform. I think it's probably truly amazing for people who use Salesforce because you'd have a full integration. For me, it's the second best platform I've used - Hubspot has some standout features that work for me that Pardot's missing. But overall, this is a great product that's relatively easy to use (as marketing automation platforms go), and it should definitely make anyone's short list.

Pros

I like the engagement studio, and the overall general features of Pardot. The user interface is very good.

Cons

It's missing some key features that Hubspot has - or has very pared down versions of those features.

Pros

The integration with Salesforce takes sending e-blasts to a whole new level of user-friendliness. Gone are the days of exporting a list from Salesforce, uploading the list to a separate email client, etc... The syncing with Salesforce allows me to create dynamic lists based on Salesforce field values with ease! When building the emails the HTML editor is great and the WYSIWYG editor is simple to use, plus there are plenty pre-built templates to choose from. The automation options like drip campaigns and dynamic lists help me be more efficient than ever. The analytics are very helpful in determining the effectiveness of our email campaigns and A/B testing helps us know what works best with our audience. The customer service if I have a problem is wonderful--they follow up quickly and helpfully explain how to resolve issues.

Cons

While the Salesforce integration is great, I wish there was a way to "filter" which records in Salesforce get synced to Pardot. When you have multiple records in Salesforce using the same email address the process can get tricky.

It is a "professional" tool which required much more effort to get things going than its low-end competitors.

Pros

It is full featured and it integrates nicely into SalesForce, and is very good IF you have a well-developed marketing automation flow. Unsubscribes work well.

Cons

Clunky, and the HTML open rates are about half that of the same list sent a month apart via a competing platform. I think the emails are "heavy" and likely to be flagged as SPAM or commercial mail. And I think perhaps Pardot's email servers are flagged in some gray or blacklists, thanks to being shared with other people using Pardot, but that is just conjecture.

We primarily use the tool for email blasts and segmented nurture campaigns. There is a lot more to it and it's more a matter of getting the bandwidth to take advantage of it.

Pros

I like the dynamic lists which, after being defined, are automatically maintained and up to date in near real-time.

It's reporting capability still has a ways to go.

It's starting to feel dated and Salesforce never felt like they really adopted it - the integration into Salesforce classic is still a poorly designed iframe. Difficult to pull meaningful reporting from Pardot into Salesforce. Just generally a pretty lackluster experience.

Easy to use! Designing emails, uploading prospects, creating lists and campaigns are all a snap. Very easy to get stats on campaign performance.

Cons

The inability to include Emojis in my email subject lines is one of my top complaints. I'd also like for the email design tool to be a little more robust.
