### "Sophisticated marketing automation, a little rough around the edges"

August 7, 2018

3.0

Pros

The two things I like most about Pardot are the abilities to setup and customize automation rules (which saves a ton of time), and then the integration with Salesforce CRM. The integration has it's downsides but as a whole it's a significant improvement over any other 3rd party marketing automation in terms of integrating with Salesforce.

Cons

While Pardot covers the marketing automation piece exceptionally well, we ended up moving to HubSpot for one reason - HubSpot has a website building tool for us to host our entire website on, while Pardot does not. Pardot has the ability to create and publish landing pages, which is necessary for marketing automation, but we needed a tool for our entire website not just landing pages, so it made sense for us to move to HubSpot.

### "Expensive, overly complex, and still lacking basic features"

December 13, 2016

1.0

We were pressure sold on pardot even though we are a consumer-facing company. They sold us on the premise that it could do everything and more. Additionally they sold that the integration is superior to other solutions because it is owned by SFDC. That's also untrue. It really has only one purpose, to convert a prospect to a sales call. So I suppose if that's your use case, it may work. If you want to remarket a close lost opp, that's a hassle. Want to mail merge unique links from custom fields and track them? Well, you can't do that. Want to add a 15 minute time delay to an email? Can't do that. Want to A/B test within a drip campaign? yup you guessed it, can't do that either. Want to email existing customers to upsell? That's a nightmare. And the support has not been great - they only contact you when you go over the limit. No offer to help. My recommendation would be to use anything but Pardot.

### "Clunky, to say the least."

May 21, 2018

3.0

Provides good exposure to customer interaction.

Pros

Pardot is a fairly robust platform with significant functuonality. Good news for this platform is that there's no restriction on oass-through data to Salesforce.

Cons

Don't even THINK about this platform unless you're on Salesforce, there would be no advantage. While Pardot does have some reasonable power in scoring and automation, the functionality is far better in platforms like Marketo. The biggest issue is how arduous anything is on the platform. Clearly built by developers this platform has templates that are difficult to vustomize and an overall complexity not found w/ other MA platforms. Unless you REQUIRE unlimited SF integration, save yourself the oain and get Hubspot or Marketo.

### "Functions well, but not exceptionally user friendly"

August 11, 2022

5.0

Overall it's very worth it for the time and energy it saves. A great tool for any business marketing.

Pros

A great tool for email marketing. Overall it works well and automation is smooth.

Cons

The contact database and search feature could use some improvement. It's overall easy to use, but some features aren't very user friendly.

### "Easy to use"

January 17, 2019

4.0

Definitely a user-friendly marketing automation tool!

Pros

Pardot is very easy to pick up and use out of the box. Different cadences make sense, and it's easy to envision how it can fit within your organization.

Cons

There's not a ton of custom features and functionality. If you're expecting a Salesforce-type experience, you don't really get it. There aren't many ways of making it your own.

### "Amazing what it can do"

March 26, 2019

5.0

Pros

Pardot has so much functionality. The engagement studios are incredible, and there is so much we haven't even harnessed yet.

Cons

It's a bit difficult to harness all Pardot can do without paying $$$ for a consultant. I am also a bit disappointed in the Pardot to Salesforce flow... our salespeople are often missing info they need from Pardot to make the sale a success.

### "100% YOY Increase in Leads with Pardot and Salesforce Intergration"

July 20, 2017

5.0

We've been using Pardot for years to manage emails and landing pages, but once we added Salesforce, we saw a dramatic increase in Pardot's usefulness. Having the ability to score prospects' interactions on the web and easily hand off warmed up leads has made a real impact.

Pros

\- Once you have solid templates built, creating new emails and landing pages is very fast - Integration with Salesforce is solid, no issues with data sync in either direction - Automation rules (especially b/t Salesforce and Pardot) can take care of a lot of mundane tasks without needing to remember to do them

Cons

\- Getting started with the Program can be tough because there is so much it can do - Reporting on data can be difficult to figure out. Not on a per-email basis, but rather on Campaign-level performance. There seem to be multiple places to get information and they don't always match up. - Landing page templates are not responsive. Seriously! You have to have a web designer built and import them to be useful

### "A good B2B companion to Salesforce"

June 13, 2018

4.0

Pros

I like Pardot I really do but at times it can be challenging and a little clunky. I'd say they have to put more time and energy into making it a bit more user-friendly.

Cons

It can be a little tricky when setting it up at first but after awhile you get the hang of it. I wish they would include more ways to do things sometimes it's not as intuitive as you'd like.

### "Standard Marketing Automation with Advanced Email and Content Tools"

March 17, 2016

4.5

Pros

From its Exact Target roots, the email marketing capabilities are what I like the best about Pardot. I have full HTML control and can easily create my own templates, A/B test, use variable tags, view reports, and more. The use of Litmus email previews is awesome too. I've been using the new SF Lighting UI for a while now and I like it a lot better. There were a few bugs at the beginning, but I thin they are all cleaned up now. The folder organization is probably a feature that doesn't get talked about much, but it helps a lot. We were told to try to use them and much as possible during the initial Pardot setup, and I'm so glad we did because you'll notice content and files start piling up immediately and having a solid folder structure makes life a lot easier. I've used a few other Marketing Automation tools before and Pardot is my favorite. It's simple, but robust enough to handle advanced needs.

Cons

The automation and "Drip" functionality is pretty simple and doesn't offer any real advanced options. For example, you can't create drip automation based on if a prospect clicks a certain link in an email, but I think there are working on that. There are a few other little things, but nothing major. One item that Pardot could improve upon is Basic Chat Support. They only offer basic support through their Olark chat, and more than half the time I check, it shows them offline which means they are full. It can get a little annoying at times if you need something urgent. However, their case management is very good and if you have a case get escalated to a higher team, the support is very good. I've had the team spend a lot of time working on some advanced form functionality for me that helped a lot. Their knowledge base is strong too, so that usually a good place to start.

### "Pardot is easy to use but expensive"

February 13, 2019

I enjoyed the product but went with InfusionSoft which cost about 1/3 the price of Pardot

Pros

Ease of use. I was able to maintain multiple campaigns

Cons

The cost is ridiculous given what is available from competition

### "Not as Easy or Intuitive as Similar Software"

January 24, 2017

3.0

We switched from another software to Pardot and realized that some of the expected functionality is missing. What I mean by that is we didn't ask about certain items that we "figured" were there and when we got into the meat of setting up email marketing we became extremely frustrated. Additionally, I didn't realize how spoiled we were with customer service. We were told that there was online chat help but apparently right when we got started it became unavailable for our plan. Little things like only being able to choose a Day to start the email campaign versus a day and time is crazy. I find myself getting up at 6am to be able to start a campaign on time because that's when my target audience is checking their email. If I create my campaign at 3pm on Thursday, my only choice is to start it the same time on any given day in the future. Additionally, the list segmentation is more complicated than it needs to be. Overall, it does allow you to create campaigns based on behavior and score your audience, etc. However, everything is more complicated and the customer support is lacking. There are better softwares available with better customer support for less money.

Pros

You can create email campaigns based on behavior.

Cons

Customer Support is lacking and the functionality is complicated.

### "Pardot leads"

September 15, 2019

4.0

Pardot gives us the ability to track and effectively score leads generated by our B2B website and digital promotions. The information generated is easy to use and share between sales reps.

Pros

The user interface is generally easy to use and flexible enough to get the information needed from the software. The data collected for each lead is complete and useful.

Cons

Occasionally the summary report fails to send. We haven’t been able to figure out why but it is a minor issue since we log in multiple times a day to retrieve lead information.

### "Pardot is AWESOME"

Great! I love it.

Pros

This is one of the most effective ESPs I've worked with over my career as an email marketer.

Cons

It's expensive. The UX is not as competitive as HubSpot or MailChimp.

### "A great way to automate marketing."

December 19, 2017

4.0

The benefits of marketing automation are huge. It is also great to locate the "hot" leads!

Pros

I love that you can easily see who's visited your site before and how they've interacted with your brand.

Cons

It seems to be hit and miss whether it makes me log in and it won't let me log in through Salesforce even though I am using the correct credentials.

### "Powerful tool for customer engagement and data management"

May 28, 2022

4.0

Robust B2B marketing platform; offers deep integrations with our website & CRM

Pros

Easy to implement to capture customer data through emails, campaigns, forms, etc. Can classify these leads based on the metrics and criteria we set - automates a lot of tasks the marketing team would have to perform. Deep integration with Salesforce Sales Cloud helps the sales team prioritize leads and action items.

Cons

UI/UX is a little poor and the platform onboarding is slightly challenging Support is very limited until you are a high-paying customer.

### "Best Marketing Automation tool if you are using Salesforce CRM"

April 7, 2020

5.0

The insights Pardot provides to the Sales team is great. Automating prospecting and follow up that traditionally the Sales team would be responsible at the top of the funnel helps free up time for your team to focus on closing deals.

Pros

Pardot is a robust marketing tool and its integration with the sales cloud functionality of Salesforce make this the best Marketing Automation tool for companies using Salesforce CRM.

Cons

The functionality is not quite as robust as Marketo or Eloqua. While its improving all the time make sure to vet out that it has the features you need.

### "Marketing automation for lead generation and customer engagement"

March 29, 2019

4.0

Pardot is very configurable and extensible, allowing for unique ways to capture customer interactions.

Pros

We actually use Pardot as a tool to aid user research. Using various channels (i.e. HelpCrunch), we guide users to our capture form. After they submit their info, they are added to an email lists that we use to solicit feedback on our product. This is a very dynamic way to set up the list of interested users. It's very simple to configure email forms and blast them to various user lists .

Cons

It was difficult to integrate Pardot forms with our current website. We tried to use the Pardot API to retrieve form fields and populate forms on our site w/o iFrames. The downside of using iFrames is that we lose tracking data and user info. We would like to be able to update forms using Salesforce Pardot Dashboard while using the Pardot API to manually build forms and send form data.

### "Pardot + SF is a great match"

February 5, 2019

5.0

Pros

Integration with Salesforce is a huge plus as it's reducing my usage of other apps. The ease of understanding where a customer has traveled on our site or has looked at in our emails is so valuable. The integration for our team to get tasks for hot leads gives us the speed to lead we need to close deals faster.

Cons

There is a definite learning curve with set up and using the system. Support was a great help for this. There are also limitations on the different levels of accounts that can be annoying if people need to see certain things.

### "My favorite marketing software"

November 2, 2018

5.0

Pros

In my opinion, pardot is the most robust and the gold standard for marketing automation. I use it daily across multiple brands and I find it to be the easiest platform with the most functionality.

Cons

I don’t think the help center or pardot community is that helpful. I usually have to dig pretty deep if I’m looking for answers. Also, they recently (in the last 1-2 years I think) moved all of their help center articles to salesforce.com but didn’t redirect the old links... so it’s a pain to find the current/updated articles.

### "We've had a fantastic experience with Pardot"

May 1, 2017

5.0

Pardot is reliable and easy to use, and has helped our organization objectively measure return on investment in marketing automation. I can say with certainty that last year 50% of the net new revenue opportunities we won were tied to marketing automation via Pardot. I only need support from Pardot's customer service team about once per year, but when I do, they are friendly, helpful, and efficient in their responses.

Pros

Easy to Use Easy to Train On Pardot makes it easy to measure a return on investing in marketing automation. The tool is reliable and performant, and the Pardot team's customer service is outstanding.

Cons

The Client Advocate email domain was terrific -quick and helpful customer support for usage-related questions. I'll be very sad to see this deprecated and replaced with the success community.

### "Pardot Review - "

September 27, 2018

4.0

Pros

I like the programs ability to link with Sales Force, and the management aspects of the software. At times, Pardot enhances the overall workflow of the day.

Cons

Pardot doesn't offer the ability to go back at certain stages, so if you do hit back on your browser, or hit pardots back button it will either time you out or delete your previous steps. Also the program doesn't seem to be entirely compatible with our companies server, as it is extremely slow. If you populate something in Salesforce, it will take up to several hours to show in Pardot, despite restarting the page and the whole computer. Lastly, building out emails is extremely difficult as there is a delay in the editor box and the email overview box. Also things like formatting pictures, text etc. are extremely frustrating in comparison to some of the other email platforms I've used in the past.
