Pros

I haven't been using Hippo very long, but the things I like about it are as follows: - Ease of use, the program seems very intuitive. - Lack of the up-front costs of many other vet software programs. - Good customer support; I've had no problems getting questions answered. - Good educational videos - the videos are short and to the point for each subject covered.

Cons

I don't really have any complaints at this point; I am opening a new clinic in a couple of weeks and will be using the program more fully at that time.

Pros

The UI is very easy to use. It is accessible on multiple devices. Priced very well. Cloud backup.

Cons

Creating packages and figuring a way to work the inventory numbers and pricing without staff finding out would be great. Some more in depth administrative features would also be great. More options on what to give access for and what staff shouldn't be able to do. Roles are too vague.

### "Needs Improvement"

Pros

I like the scheduling aspect. It is nice to see color coding and actual labels.

Cons

It's not very user friendly. I don't like that families are separated and I don't like that you can't have multiple patients pulled up at the same time. Wish the system had more aspects similar to Avimark or Cornerstone.

This widget is accessible on all of the major screens in Hippo (Scheduler, Choose Action, Chart Notes, Patient Profile, etc.) through your quick links bar. If you want to have multiple patients pulled up at the same time all you have to do is open Hippo in multiple browser tabs. There are no limits (from Hippo) on the number of active browser tabs (patient records) that you can have open. If you find it helpful, we offer live-trainings every week and topic-based training twice monthly. Just send us an email to training@hippomanager.com and we will save you a spot. Pros

I like that there are learning opportunites, live interaction, very personable staff, and clear screen.

Cons

Cannot use 2 credit cards on one sale. No total transactions for end of month, bloodwork download-unable to enter name/info ( for apply) manually and doesnt always work . ? Reports show total amount due when a portion has been paid on invoice.

Overall it is a really good system. If there are any problems tech support is available when called and the problems are handled quickly.

Pros

Very easy to use and navigate. Icons make it easy and quick to look up information. We use the reports feature on a daily basis. The reports are compiled quickly.

Cons

I Would like to be able to merge client records (duplicate) into one.

We were able to go from mixed paper and digital records to all digital. Saves tons of time.

Pros

My favorite part about hippo software is how easy it is to learn. Also I love how it is cloud based.

Cons

Things I don't like about hippo is that you can not edit the forms provided on the system. For example the dental chars you have to print them and scan them back in. I also do not like how you can merge duplicate owners and duplicate patients.

You can locate all the animals searching by the client and then open each pet up under multiple tabs so you can work on them separately. Multi tab functionality is unique to Hippo Manager! As a new business this software was great! I loved how integration was built in, that made start up a whole lot less complex.

Pros

I found Hippo software to be very user friendly and easy to navigate.

Cons

The feature that I would like to be added is a button to print out client lists with all their data. This would be useful when organizing group emails or analyzing data points for sales/use.

Technical support is not very helpful. Emailed/called but never even receive a call or email back. Customer support was suppose to be hippos number 1 big reason to get hippo

Pros

I like the ease of finding patients and having everything on one data base.

Cons

Issues of numerous patient files for the same patient; problems like mis-spelling can cause patients to have numerous files. Difficult to make/transfer into one patient. No way to delete the pre-exisiting 'wrong' files.

Cons

The address would be correct in client info, but when script is printed, the wrong state is listed. When ordering medications, despite clicking on the exam to link to, each script would be on a separate invoice. Taking a long time to link to 2 other software.

### "Good software but needs some improvement"

Pros

I like that we are able to access this software anywhere that we have internet access. Overall this software is fairly user friendly and doesn't take you too long to learn how to use it.

Cons

I dislike how the invoices are set up to where we can't easily change the doctor that saw the patient at that visit. We have to delete all the charges that were put in and then re-enter them to show the correct doctor. I also wish that when it came to taking payment and closing invoices, that once a payment was received, the invoice would automatically close instead of us having to select complete sale. I also wish that we can link labs/documents to particular SOAPs and that they would print out when that particular SOAP was printed out.

Would not have chosen, would not choose again or recommend. The program is extremely bulky and buggy.

Pros

It is cloud-based, so the ability to log in from other computers, even ones not on the network, is greatly useful.

Cons

What should take one or two steps to complete, takes 12. It is extremely buggy, frequently creating fake charts at the start of the day. Making appointments for multiple patients takes so long.

Nice appearance and layout, customer support tries to be helpful

Cons

Takes a lot of clicking to get to where you need to be-not at all convenient. No good way to look back at a pet's history-takes a long time and a lot of clicking.

Pros

The software is easy to use. Any questions we've had have been quickly answered by tech support, and they are always willing to work with us to customize our software to our needs.

Cons

Some functions are odd or don't seem logical, but when brought to their attention they are quick to address it or say they are working on a change to the process.

Not applicable. Unfortunately since the calendar integration issue was not able to be corrected, we were forced to abandon the program.

Pros

Customer Service was excellent and went above and beyond in order to address any concerns. The fully integrated inventory was a definite selling point.

Cons

We were unable to link google calendar despite their amazing efforts by their tech staff. Unfortunately that created a scheduling nightmare that prevented our online appointment scheduling and created a ton of extra work for our staff.
