When we first installed it, it was a side project. Within one year, it became our secret weapon in RFPs and allowed us to enter new verticals. ODL offers a bounty of robust features and can be customized to meet all routing, territory, and business needs. It may not be as flashy as other products, but it delivers! Where some products limit the number of vehicles, pickups, deliveries, iterations, etc. ODL has seemingly no constraints and can perform thousands of iterations in seconds. Because it's run locally on the computer and uses local road network graphs, there's no need for slow API requests or even an internet connection. This enables it to power through routing problems. No exaggeration, it's faaaaaast. The data is compatible with Excel, so you can wire your own custom integrations, use a customer-friendly report/data format, and anyone in your company can handle the data. You may start out with a free version of ODL studio, but you will quickly realize that you would pay top dollar for this kind of technology. Cons I provided a four star review in the category of "Ease of Use" simply because it is not as easy to use as other products. If you are looking for a "plug and play" solution, this is not it. That being said, it is not necessarily "difficult" to use or understand. It will require some training though. I have set this product up half a dozen times and trained half a dozen people how to use it - all of varying tech-savvy. If you have a relatively technical person on your team who can dedicate a week to installing and learning how to use it, this is very much an option that should not be glossed over. If you want a tool that will really allow you to sharpen your pencil on RFPs, provide top-notch routing solutions, and provide a turn-key route optimization template for any company, I cannot recommend ODL enough. Reasons for choosing Open Door Logistics Studio We did try a handful of alternative products, but when we landed on ODL it was a no-brainer. Other products typically have limited constraints and capabilities. ODL regularly outperformed other products (in every scenario) by anywhere from 10-40% fewer miles/hours driven and provided solutions in 1/100th of the time.
