Slack

## What is Slack?

Slack is where work happens for millions of people everyday. Slack transforms how work happens by bringing AI and automation to where people are already collaborating. Go from chatting with your teams to chatting with apps and data. Break down siloed data through Slack's searchable channel architecture, allowing your teams and AI to access your organization's knowledge. Teams work together in context when CRM data, project management, and people all come together to solve problems and make decisions. Teams can talk to each other and their AI agent in conversational language, allowing them to access each other and information seamlessly. Slack AI recaps channels and summarizes threads so that employees can jump into discussion quickly, whether they are new to a project or catching up after being away. Enterprise applications can easily be integrated and shared in channel and direct message, giving a snapshot of context and the opportunity to collaborate on the spot.

I have had a great overall experience with Slack and don't think I could do my job as effectively with out it!

Pros

This is the best way to communicate with my team! I don't think I could survive without it. We also use it to huddle or have small unplanned meetings. It is super easy to use. I also use the Canvas as a project planning tool to make sure everyone on the team is aligned.

Cons

Sometimes it's hard to find what I'm looking for, but the search functionality is improving so much.

Slack is a dependable communication platform that keeps teams connected and organized. It’s easy to use, integrates with everything, and makes daily collaboration smoother. While it has minor issues, it remains one of the best tools for team communication.

Pros

\*Slack delivers strong value for the money, especially for teams that rely heavily on messaging and collaboration. The free version is solid, and paid tiers unlock powerful features. \*Customer Support is generally responsive and helpful. Most issues are resolved quickly, though complex problems sometimes require multiple follow-ups. \*Very easy to use. Slack is intuitive and easy to navigate. Channels, threads, and search features make communication organized and simple. \*Chat is fast, reliable, and easy to manage. Threaded conversations help keep discussions organized, and reactions make quick feedback simple. \*Occasional glitches happen — slow loading, notification delays, or random sign-outs. Nothing catastrophic, but noticeable during busy days. \*File sharing is smooth. Uploads are quick, previews load instantly, and integrations with Google Drive/OneDrive make collaboration easier. \*Slack’s built-in huddles and calls work well for quick check-ins. They’re not as robust as Zoom or Teams, but they’re convenient for fast conversations. \*Clean, intuitive interface \*Fast messaging and reliable notifications \*Strong integrations with other tools \*Easy file sharing and collaboration

Cons

Occasional bugs and slowdowns Search can feel cluttered with older messages Meetings/huddles lack advanced features

Overall, I've found Slack to be a solid communication tool that's easy to use and integrates well with other apps. However, occasional lag and limitations with file sharing have slightly impacted my experience, preventing me from giving it a full 5-star rating, but it's still a valuable addition to my team's workflow.

Pros

I like Slack's real-time messaging, file sharing, and integrations with other tools. We've set up channels for different projects and teams. It's pretty solid for team communication.

Cons

The mobile app can be a bit slow to load at times. I've also had issues with notifications not updating in real-time. Not a huge deal, but kind of annoying.

What I liked most was how easy it is to keep conversations organized with channels. It also makes sharing files and jumping into quick calls really convenient.

Cons

The notifications can get overwhelming if you're in a lot of channels. It also takes a bit of time to figure out the best way to organize everything.

Really quite positive, it's added a lot of flexibility and functionality to our day-to-day communications and file sharing.

Pros

It's good for segmenting workspaces company-wide (from ops to sales to directors) and very easy to use. it gives a good instant channel for file sharing and meeting outside traditional channels. definitely adds to business efficiency with the chat and file sharing functions.

Cons

Not much to be honest, it functions exactly as we need it to as an SME- providing a channel that we've set up as cross team or for each team as appropraite. it gives a lot of flexibility.

Overall - it's hard to beat slack for a communication tool. It makes my day to day work life pretty easy.

Pros

Slack makes it really easy to communicate both internally and externally with my team, clients and vendors. I specifically like sharing files in slack, and enjoy being able to use the gif function.

Cons

I have had some issues where pdf files show different colors when previewing them in slack. Also - open graph meta titles, descriptions and images if I change one of those - I'm not sure how fast slack updates that information for web page previews.

In our department we use slack to communicate and share files on the day to day and it has helped us save time versus email. Occasionally, there are bugs, but this is manageable most of the time. While not ideal for meetings because of the quality of the video, it's a pretty good tool to keep our team informed and organized and well worth the subscription price.

Pros

Our department has been using slack for a long time now and it's proven to be a great option for when we need to make quick decisions or updates, things that do not necessarily require an email. Having channels where all the operational, vendor, and staff related announcements can be made separately makes things organized. I also appreciate the search function because when I'm looking for old messages about bookings or system alerts, it has saved me many hours of searching.

Cons

Occasionally files don't upload correctly, particularly the larger PDFs we send for handing over shifts or rental inventories. Plus this app freezes up during use and have to restart it. Finally, video calls are not always of the same quality as we use to talk with offsite vendors, so we have had to use other ways of communication for important meetings.

Pros

Slack has changed the way teams communicate on a daily basis, by effectively replacing a good part of internal emails. The search in message history works well and lets you quickly find past information.

Cons

Message history is limited in the free version, which can be an issue when trying to find older important conversations. The pricing of paid plans also increases quickly as the number of users grows.

I solve customer management, document management, automation and employee management problems using Slack.

Pros

Slack helps us automatically capture incoming speaker requests, structure them clearly and assign them directly to the right internal contact person. Thanks to the workflows and automation, we save significant time in our daily agency and training operations and reduce errors because fewer manual steps are required. The system is highly recommended, especially for SMEs and all this at very affordable prices.

Cons

Basically, there's nothing to it. The combination of open interfaces, comprehensive functionality, and above all, strong communication capabilities plays a crucial role. We collaborate in teams.
