### "Communicating with my co-workers has never been easier "

September 9, 2021

5.0

saves me from the stress of uploading and sharing content, files, and images with my co-workers. Especially during the work from home time period due to Covid-19. The ability to connect Google drive and docs with Slack is a real time saver.

Pros

1\. When ever I need to send some images or content files to my fellow content creators, all I have to do is find the file and drag and drop it to send. This has saved me a lot of time. 2. On occasion, a person will send messages on various topics one after the other. When I need to respond to one of those messages, I simply reply in a thread so the person knows what I'm talking about.

Cons

Sometimes, its important to know if a person saw my message. But this feature is not available in .

### "Start Talking with your team"

February 11, 2019

4.0

Pros

is pretty awesome. It fosters great team communication and avoids things lost in the email abyss. We use it for stand up meetings, projects, sprints, and even non-work related stuff.

Cons

Limitations of free accounts can get a bit frustrating, but it does provide great value to your organization.

### "The best communication tool ever!"

March 9, 2022

5.0

is an absolute necessity use group specialized apparatus for any association in the present advanced world, particularly when the colleagues are not working from a similar area or city.

Pros

It is a quintessential group specialized instrument with some fascinating a device like a pursuit highlight. The hunt include allows you to look through the discussions and this is an exceptionally basic element as the correspondence develops across groups. A ton of times we have seen that it's a trade for email - as the majority of the discussions are on . The portable application of Slack is generally excellent and makes individuals open whenever and anyplace. Slack additionally has a ton of incorporations with different instruments - that make life so natural.

Cons

There is not a lot I can say here - not tracked down a restriction.

### "Great tool but may be difficult to use depending on familiarity with integration applications"

April 2, 2019

4.0

Pros

I really appreciated how can be used as a central hub for not only my team communications but also to integrate all of the applications we use. When using Slack, I no longer miss texts about last minute needs for my events, I can make sure that my employees stay on track with programs like Asana, and I can separate employees into project-based teams for direct communication. No more scattered and unorganized group chats or excessively long email chains! With the ability to use Slack on both my mobile device and desktop, I know that I can always stay on top of my business no matter where I'm at and I can easily monitor my team without micromanaging them.

Cons

may be difficult for individuals to use if they are unfamiliar with communication applications that integrate other productivity and business management software. There is a bit of a learning curve because of the general nuances of the application. It can take a little bit of time to fully use Slack because of the sheer amount of uses it has and how those can be implemented into your team. I would recommend trying a demo and reviewing the Slack Handbooks that can be found on their website and sharing them with employees that are struggling.

### "Gerat tool for office coordination"

November 7, 2019

5.0

We are using for our daily coordination and virtual office. We run several English Clubs at once thus each club has its own channel. We keep the conversation focused on the club's activities, and when we get a new idea, we move it to the general channel before opening a new one, if necessary.

Pros

First and foremost: channels! allows users to create various channels according to our needs. This puts conversations into focus. Another feature that is very useful for us is threads. With the ability to create threads, we can streamline our discussion. No out-of-topic conversations in our main feed. Each time we have new ideas, we can discuss it in a thread and then if it's worthy to develop, we open a new channel to explore the idea further. This feature makes our discussion much, much more productive compared to us using other platforms.

Cons

is rather demanding on resources. Some of our staffs' phones are not the newest. Slack often crashes on these phones.

### "Nice and collaborative chat for work"

August 1, 2018

5.0

More collaborative work with my team and more effective communication.

Pros

The hole UI and UX definitely. And is full of functionalities, in my case I can tell that is a very powerful tool to maintain communication with your team and work collaboratively for Software Development projects. You are able to create markups identified by hashtags for easy search, create multiple chats and groups, upload a lot of files with support for many formats and one thing I believe is incredible is that you can also share code lines and generates small previews or code snippets in case you share only a few lines. It can be integrated to a lot of services and many software as well, the list is very big.

Cons

If you have a large amount of groups or integrations to you will receive a lot of notifications and that is annoying after some time. Apart from that I haven't found any other problems or things I consider can be improved.

### "Slack is Amazing!!!"

May 26, 2020

5.0

does not miss a bit. It always functions at a high level and I have never had an issue with the service. I can communicate with co workers individually or in groups and the conversation history is always available to go back to later. Slack is integral to our inter office communication and is easy to use on a machine or mobile device. We also use it in our software as an option for users to deliver alert notifications to their users. Slack is AMAZING!

Pros

Easy to use and a great user interface. The number of integrations that has are endless and there's seemingly nothing you cannot integrate with it. Its easy to use and easy to monitor. I love that I can set it to notify for specific work hours but still get direct notifications out of hours when certain criteria are met. I love that the history is maintained for all conversations and that I can pin specific items for later.

Cons

I have no complaints about . I have not had one time when Slack did not meet my expectations or fail to deliver during use. I would like to see some customization capabilities for the UI from Dark mode to layout adjustments but overall this is an amazing tool!

Fantastic software, highly recommend for any company in the health care industry, with multiple locations, allows users from different geographical locations stay in touch and communicate vital information for all the day-to-day functions.

Pros

The ability to communicate with coworkers from different systems, share different types of files, sets reminders on messages, create as many groups as you need for different purposes.

Cons

### "Useful tool if you don't have other messaging options"

February 5, 2019

4.0

Unfortunately, we are switching over to another system. would be a great tool for a smaller company, maybe 2-10 employees but not for larger ones in my opinion.

Pros

I liked that I could "ping" others in my office instead of sending an email or making a phone call for a quicker response to a question or issue. The idea has been around for years but typically the system built into the company's platform, whereas is downloaded.

Cons

I was using the free version so I can only comment on the features that I saw. If another user in your office isn't signed up to it you cannot reach them. The free feature does not allow for group messaging, or if it did it I haven't been able to identify how to use it and we've been using it for nearly two years now. There is no "away" message or "busy" message like we have with other systems. Again, these may be available to the user if it's a higher tier payment level but not in the lower tier.

### "The perfect app for talking business! "

November 20, 2018

5.0

Overall, I love that within the same group, we are able to section off and speak about things still pertaining to the group’s agenda, but not necessarily targeting everyone in the group. It’s a great app for people like me who have a lot of business to speak about with several people, and want to keep all business related things in one app as opposed to another more personal app like messenger or WhatsApp. It also helps greatly with response time, as people tend to take a while to respond to emails, however is more easily accessible.

Pros

I love that when someone tags my name with the @ sign, I am notified, which makes things a lot more efficient for me because my notifications are usually turned off, but knowing that someone is specifically addressing me, saves me time from searching through a bunch off messages that have nothing to do with me. Straight to the point is what I love!

Cons

If a lot is happening in a particular group chat, sometimes scrolling through a bunch of messages, I am easily lost and not sure exactly where I was reading, probably a colour code can be established for messages I’ve read and those that I have yet to read. And also some bug fixes can help.

### "Slack is so convenient to use! "

October 4, 2022

5.0

I love using . I have used it with many different companies, and it has always provided convenient communication between myself and my coworkers.

Pros

It is easy to use on desktop and mobile. It provides a great platform for professional communication, and allows fun widgets like gifs, emojis, etc. to make it fun in the workplace!

Cons

The calling function always seems to give me a hassle. I do not know if it is an issue with the software, or the user. ;)

### "A great alternative to MS Teams/ Skype"

August 27, 2021

5.0

Pros

The quality of the audio and video on conference calls. The difference between and Skype as noticable able without having to pay attention.

Cons

The impractical free trial, the free version had so many limitations that simple things like sharing screens was impossible. Some of these features shouldn't be exclusive to paid members.

### "The basic communication tool for company teams"

August 16, 2018

5.0

The biggest benefit with is to have a common communication channel with the whole team that is really intuitive. It is a great way to share knowledge.

Pros

is a good way to communicate internally in a company. It is great that you can add different channels with different subjects, so that the communication can be streamlined within this. Also a big plus is the ability to search for previous conversations – a great way to share knowledge and also keep it as a sort of knowledge database.

Cons

The team needs a lot of discipline to use this tool. For instance not everybody should be able to create channels as it can become really cluttered with channel names that only the creator understands. Some kind of limit to the number of channels would be good – maybe just for guiding purposes. The team also has to be aware of when to use . Some work at night while others work in the morning. Don't expect everybody to answer all the time.

### "Multiple workspaces and channels"

May 29, 2022

5.0

I am very distanced geographically from other people on the teams I work with, but makes me feel very connected in real time, even across time zones.

Pros

As a remote contractor, I like easily moving between multiple workspaces (each for different consultancies), and easily navigating different channels within those workspaces. It's easy to find conversations about each client, and I only need to be included on channels pertinent to my work. I like showing my clients when I'm available for chats also.

Cons

I really enjoy using , and the only thing that occasionally trips me up is locating links or assets that I've seen, but can't remember if they're in a Slack thread or on the project management software.

### "Slack is the standard for company collaboration"

May 17, 2022

5.0

We have used for 3+ years and are happy with the workflows and real-time collaboration culture we have developed around it. Recommended.

Pros

It is easy to use, provides numerous integration options (ie. Stripe, Intercom, Github, Asana) and helps you build productive collaboration-based workflows that actually work.

Cons

It may be expensive if you are just starting and want the paid version.

### "Powerful for nomadic teams"

January 9, 2019

5.0

I've loved and was once a paying user, but didn't see much added value for our small team, so downgraded to the free version. I prefer platforms that are powerful enough without paying, so this was no issue for me, but consider carefully if their paid benefits are actually necessary.

Pros

There's an ease to . It's a relatively new concept – living and working on one screen, sharing updates, following threads, sharing docs – that I feel staff at any age and professional experience can grasp with ease. It's straightforward, and uses the same UX we're familiar with from web messenger services to help communicate more comprehensive functionality.

Cons

I feel like the search functionality is limited on the web experience – it should be easy to find conversations within certain dates, excluding keywords, and using and/or functionality. Also, I really wish there was a way to search for links and shared google docs that aren't recognized as files, which happens often.

### "Easy to use and track conversation during collaborations"

March 9, 2021

5.0

I like using because everything is in one area. Slack works with numerous applications and makes organizing and starting a project discussion easy. I use slack for internal conversation which cuts back on email. I can then snap shot the conversation or send a link to my documentation system.

Pros

Creating groups and channels for conversations and announcements. Being able to organize each project with their own tag and invite those that need to be part of the collaboration. We can easily see how has participated, what's changed and if a year from now, I need to verify what changes were made, I can search conversations.

Cons

Once you create a chat group that is private, you cannot delete the person off the chat group. Some times people drop off of projects and you will have to create a new thread.

### "Slack has changed the way I work - for the better!"

January 22, 2019

5.0

Overall, the reason that works is that it lets the users decide what's the best way to get their work done. We can name ourselves whatever we want, we can create whatever channels we want, and we can collaborate in a way that works best for our team. We can call, screenshare or just chat...whatever is needed to get our work done. I hardly send e-mails anymore.

Pros

I love how simple it is to use. I've used and two different companies now and even though they both used it in different ways, it was incredibly easy to hit the ground running to start communicating and collaborating with my co-workers.

Cons

One feature that I think would be a huge value add is embedded links within text. I've had embedded links that I wanted to send through , for its ease of use, but needed to send through e-mail, so that the links weren't lost on the text. Another suggestion is to add the ability to make a channel private, even after it's already been created. The work-around is to create new channels and make them private right away, with the same users. The downside to this is that we lose our historical chats in the public channel.

### "There's no other chat app that has the ease of use and all the features that Slack has"

May 10, 2018

4.0

is perfect for my team because it allows asynchronous/unobtrusive conversation. We write mostly everything in Slack, and it's much better than someone tapping you on the shoulder and interrupting your work flow. Slack is also the place where we aggregate lots of information so everyone can see it. Everything from error logs, to user statistics, to meeting notes is all in our Slack channel.

Pros

It's very easy to use . Everyone understands it immediately, but there's also a big developer community that builds awesome Slack plugins. Pretty much everything has a Slack integration, and Slack webhooks are incredibly easy to use for any custom purposes. There's really an endless number of things you can do with Slack, but it never feels overwhelming. It's a beautifully designed piece of software that appeals to many different types of users.

Cons

I don't love the search feature. I find that it's pretty difficult to find certain things if I don't know an exact keyword to search.

### "A Must Have"

May 29, 2019

5.0

helps us with history of conversations. We commonly find ourselves referring to past-conversations and Slack has been there to give us a record and find conversations easily with search. Slack has also helped to keep our remote/distributed team communicating and fostering the team energy as if we were in the same room.

Pros

is the only way for our team to communicate. Having channels for specific projects/topics, DM ability and the ease of use across all platforms, Slack has been integral to our business. Add on features like giphy or emoji reactions allow for short-hand responses and the call features allow us to take the conversation to the next level if needed (all in one place).

Cons

Notifications can get out of hand. While these can be modified, it feels like if a channel picks up steam, you are bombarded. Naturally, you shut them off for a bit but then need to remember to turn them back on as to not miss why you had notifications turned on in the first place.
