Easy setup, offers a lot of features even in the free plan. Works as a great notification setting and internal communication use cases.

Hidden settings and layers for some of the settings such as channel management and user settings. Can be a bit taxing to set it up for inexperienced.

### "Keeps a remote team connected and engaged"

May 4, 2025

5.0

Used it to connect a team that is mostly remote. Enjoy that it can be used as a social connection tool as well.

Pros

Ability to have different channels, posts, and chats for various teams and purposes. Ability to use hashtags to notify people of things they care about.

Cons

A slight learning curve, does not integrate with Microsoft very easily. Seems like it was designed for Gen Z.

### "Can't imagine my workday without Slack"

February 1, 2025

5.0

I was a Microsoft Teams user from 2017 - 2022, and I found it to be usable and an important tool. But that's a night and day difference to Slack's use in my life. I find the interface to be clean and easily usable. I work at a remote agency, and Slack is so integral to staying in communication across projects. We have channels for each of our clients, and these channels are such a great place to keep things organized. The huddle feature makes it so easy to have a quick call with each other. I also love the statuses - being able to see when people are in lunch, in meetings, or - as we use Slack, what their Spotify Daylist title is - is such a great way to do things. I love being a Slack user - I can't imagine my workday without it.

Pros

I love that in a remote work culture, Slack makes it easy to get to know and appreciate co-workers. I love how easy it is to track different projects, keep up conversations with coworkers, share inside jokes, and be a hub for company experience.

Cons

Perhaps the only thing I dislike about Slack is how easily available it is to me (no work life boundaries when you can always check it!) and every once in a while, an integration acts a little funky with it. For instance, I have my Google calendar synced up with it, but it will sometimes show me the notification awkwardly. Those two things are things I have to dig deep to find as a frustration.

### "Slack: Intuitive, Efficient, and Reliable Communication"

June 5, 2025

5.0

In an overall perspective, my experience using Slack is pretty good. I feel like the tool has more pros than cons, and I've been using it over the last few months.

Pros

What I like the most about Slack is that it's very intuitive, you can send messages and read the ones you receive in a smart and simple way. I also like that you can connect your calendar to it, so others can see when you're away or in a meeting. Another nice feature is the ability to select when your notifications are off. Last but not least, if someone joins a chat after it has been active for a determined amount of time, that person can access the historical chat.

Cons

Sometimes I've experienced receiving notifications long after the person tagged me in a channel or responded to me in a private chat.

### "Reliable and useful"

July 5, 2025

5.0

Very positive. I’ve only used Slack in my professional career but I feel like my life revolves around it!

Pros

Slack is the go to for all of my company communication. It’s a solid product and very reliable. I really enjoy the integrations with Jira and DataDog.

Cons

I wish I had some way of knowing what things need my attention first. I’m in dozens of channels and even when I star and categorize them, there are often so many I can’t prioritize easily.

### "Solid and Reliable"

June 13, 2025

4.0

fine...we havent reached out for help. However we have used slack now for almost 5 years and can not see NOT using this software.

Pros

It makes it very easy to stay in touch with the team. We like to use it for noting a lot of things we need to do as a team, and pin those to certain channels. We also use this to jump on huddles.

Cons

I wish the reminders were a little easier to see, for example I work on 2 screens can I get a tiny notification on the second screen. There also very well could be this and I am not seeing it.

Pros

Slack is a reliable tool for internal communication. It's simple to find files and conversations with Slack search/filter functionality. Slack enables real-time direct messaging. ### "Slack for online fitness coach"

March 3, 2026

5.0

Overall, Slack has been very easy to use and effective for communication with clients both past and present.

Pros

Slack is easy to use for communication with teams and clients. I've been able to make group chats or private chats with ease.

Cons

I lose track of notifications when people reply to something instead of respond in the chat directly so it's more effort to go make sure I don't miss anything.

### "I love it!"

November 14, 2025

5.0

Pros

Slack is the best chat platform out there! You can integrate it with whatever other software you like, amazing!

Cons

A bit pricey for companies, I think they could lower the price and still be profitable. This is the only thing I don't like.

### "Couldn't work without it!"

April 24, 2025

5.0

Extensive and appreciative! I use it all day every workday and check it on my phone when I'm OOO.

Pros

Everything! I don't know how any company with remote employees could survive without Slack. Love being able to communicate 1:1, as a team, and as a whole company; pin documents and workflows; integrate with all the essential other platforms; bookmarking, saving chats, and the ability to search are all necessary and fantastic.

Cons

Not much - everything works so well and is highly customizable.

### "Slack - Nice UI but needs functionalities"

April 23, 2025

5.0

Pros

It has a very comforting UI similar to discord and has nice functionalities which can be easily learnt by beginners. I also really like that you can create threads in discussions when you reply to something which makes everything look very organized.

Cons

I think they need to improve their huddle feature which is way behind their competitors - Microsoft Teams and they also lack the complete ecosystem provided by default with Microsoft Teams.

### "Slack: The most important software for businesses to have"

March 13, 2025

5.0

I believe Slack has been a great tools for our business. It is because of this software that we are able to operate efficiently and effectively and cannot picture our business running without this software

Pros

What I like most about Slack is how effective it is at keeping business teams connected via instantaneous messaging rather than emails.

Cons

After much thinking and careful consideration I really don't have anything negative to say about Slack.

### "Have you tried slack?"

June 9, 2025

5.0

It’s been great so far—I use it every day and am really happy with it. In my opinion, it’s the best app out there for company communication.

Pros

Easy to use. All the features are pretty intuitive and don't require a learning curve. There are many tools to help communicate with different groups. It also allows external guests.

Cons

It crashed sometimes, so you have to relaunch the app. The message notifications can be delayed for the laptop.

### "Slack Review"

September 24, 2025

5.0

It is available on desktop, mobile (iOS/Android), and web, with offline message drafting and keeps me in sync.

Pros

Slack offers real-time messaging, channels for organized team discussions, and direct messages, reducing email clutter. Channels can be public or private, allowing flexible collaboration.

Cons

Frequent notifications can disrupt focus unless customized, and important messages may get buried in busy channels.

### "Best Chat tool for collaboration"

December 9, 2018

5.0

Love the tool and can see it's being widely adopted within many industries.

Pros

Plenty of cool quirks, you can use inline giphys as well as emoji and the ability to customize is even easier than ever thought. Open APIs allow for custom built integrations to allow for more streamlined communication with various teams. You can also slack between entire companies which is cool.

Cons

The lack of being able to ping someone who is not at your company. This is very annoying when coming from a tool like gchat, which allows you to ping anyone with their email address.

Simple and fun one communication platform for the entire company. Its self explanatory, offers a variety of integrations / notifications / workflows.

Pros

One size fits all direct communication platform for the entire company and external stakeholders. Combines easy sharing of documents, opening channels and calendar connectivity.

Cons

The bigger the workspace, the slowe the application can get. Requires some training for organization to manage communication flow.

### "My Review of Slack"

March 1, 2026

5.0

Overall, it is a great product I'm able to share all types of documents with my team. All of our conversations are structured and threads are always manageable.

Pros

My favorite aspect is sharing files. While some alternatives allow calls and chat, sharing files on them is very limited compared to what Slack offers.

Cons

Slack is only great until you pay. The freemium version is missing so many features that it would be better to stay on google apps.

Pros

Slack is well organized, helps inform others of your activity, and lets you balance work and life with mute notifications.

Cons

### "Best messaging platform"

September 17, 2025

4.0

Slack can be more advantageous and strategic for team. Free or paying for the features, it’s a productivity tool before a communication tool.

Pros

Slack keeps all the team communication in one place. It cuts down a lot of email chains. You can also group everything by topics, which makes searching for info much smoother.

Cons

It feels a little less user-friendly on mobile. Swiping right and back can seem hard in some cases .

### "Easy to use, wish for better formatting tools"

January 6, 2025

5.0

Pros

Slack is really easy to use on desktop and mobile app. Integrates with Asana. Allows you to set reminders from a message so you can come back to a message someone has sent you. Works really well with the Slack app. If you need to share a photo from your phone to Slack, just upload it on the app as a draft and you can pick it straight up on your desktop to edit the accompanying message. I have two Slack workspaces - one for work and another for a community I'm part of and it's seamless to navigate between the two.

Cons

You have to pay for integrations such as Donut which sends out questions at a set cadence to create engagement. Or Polly for polls and surveys. If you're part of multiple channels and have lots of messages coming in, you may miss a group announcement if not tagged specifically. Formatting a message in Slack is a challenge - hitting the ENTER key send your message rather than bring you down to the next line. I've used Microsoft Teams and feel it's a better product.
