I wouldn't say I enjoy using it but it's less painfull . Integrations work well. Pros ease of use is good (but it used to be even better a year ago). I find many updates didn't really improve useability. File sharing is so easy and it's also way easier to find files compared t other platforms Cons I hae the feeling the more updtes thy make the more clicks you have to go through to do a simple task, e.g. core features e.g. startigng a huddle is not as easily accessible as it used to be. Overall it works well, but no better than other solutions. I wouldn’t replace an incumbent solution with Slack. Pros It seems the entire world uses slack and I’m new to it in 2025. That being said, I’m not new to collaborative working tools, and in a predominantly MS Teams world, I enjoy using Slack, but find myself defaulting to Teams when I’m selecting the collaboration tool. I enjoy using Slack for its interface, its tools set including huddles, chats, DMs etc. it integrates well with ClickUp now which is great, but that’s more of the third party upping their game. Cons I struggle to find its USP. I enjoy using MS Teams and I can’t yet see why, if I were considering slack, why I’d choose to use it over Teams, or as well as. It does integrate well other platforms. The constant reminders about the free Pro period expiring is very annoying. Review Source JR Janessa R. We have been using it at my place of employment sonce i started working there in 2022 Pros I like the ability to have an office chat side chat and workplace chat all in the same program. Cons Sometimes i miss chat messages but this happens rarely so it's not a major issue. The massive price increase meant we could no longer trust them with our money or data so we left and we don't regret it at all. Pros A lot of products integrate easily with Slack. As a replacement for Skype it was quite good. Cons Rug-pull price increase forced us to migrate. We found Zulip which ended up being better in practically every way. Review Source FC Francesca C. It connects with a lot of our other apps and it makes communications faster and easier. Pros Easy communication between teams. Slack makes it easier to work in a global company as no one reads internal emails. Cons The search function. It isn't the easiest to go back and find old posts. It makes it easy to quickly discuss anything of importance rather than continue messaging. Cons I really do not like the "Reply" function to specific messages. I think Slack needs to update their software to be in line with how most messaging systems work these days, where when you reply to a specific message, the reply shows that it's to that specific message. When you hit 'Reply' to a specific message in Slack, and you forget to tick the box 'Display in thread' , the reply only appears on the message wherever it was in the chat, starting a new thread. It is modern & feature-rich enough to fit both personal and professional use. As mentioned earlier, the adoption on the professional side lags behind similar tools. I’ll finish by saying one of the most versatile features that Slack for Enterprise has built is the workflows/automation feature.. and it should continue expanding on this feature to outpace it’s competition. Pros The interface and integration capabilities of Slack are several times more modern than similar messaging tools. Cons Slack has more work to do to overtake market share in Enterprise use cases, meaning those professional teams who are already integrated into the Microsoft environment and prefer Teams. It is often the case where Slack is used on the side, as an addendum, to a team that is already using a different communication platform. I guess this kind of problem would be best remedied by better marketing & outreach to promote Slack’s features and ease.
