But I'm very glad that it allows me to pause notifications because sometimes it's very distracting. Pros The ability to have quick conversations with colleagues. Multiple channels keeps things organized. Cons We have WAY too many channels and some of my colleagues love so much, they use it for everything. For example, once I was asking a colleague to document instructions on how to use a new tool. I also like that you can connect your calendar to it, so others can see when you're away or in a meeting. Another nice feature is the ability to select when your notifications are off. Last but not least, if someone joins a chat after it has been active for a determined amount of time, that person can access the historical chat. We are a multi-unit franchise with close to 120 employees across 3 locations, and we operate on a 7 day a week schedule. This has been the most convenient way to ensure we can get important information out to employees across all locations and all schedules without the dreaded group text! Cons For what we need it for, the cost for a premium membership is too high. We could benefit from the paid membership really only to have access to past messages, but there is not much else we need it for. For that, $8/user/month is just too much.
