We worked in different offices so that made it helpful. Pros How easy it is to communicate with everyone within the company. I liked the fact that you could make subgroups within the account and being able to DM individually. Cons The fact that I would sometimes have a hard time logging in. Login was a bit temperamental. Pros It is easy for company-wide communication or smaller team communication. Cons I did not like that some of the channels were not "opt-out"friendly. I'm not entirely sure if it was the companies corporate channels that made it hard for some of us employees to cancel out of or if it was Slack's ease of "opting" out, but that was the only true frustration I had with the technology. Cons One thing that I dislike is too many channels and notifications can be overwhelming. And more than 90 days message can't be accessible if user has free plan. The channels help keep conversations organized, and integrations with tools like Google Drive and Zoom make collaboration easy and seamless. Cons Sometimes the number of notifications can get a bit overwhelming especially on mails and more specifically when you're part of many channels. But it's manageable with the notification settings. I liked how it documents the response, achieves transparency in accountability for shortcomings. I liked the ease of creating channels, defining permissions. It is great that Slack gives us the privacy needed to discuss and update data, and separates private communication for work from personal communication applications. Slack is easy to connect with all our applications, making transferring data and sharing everything simpler. Cons Sometimes in very high volume cases, it can be easy to lose track of conversations. Sometimes a message can be "read" on accident, would be nice if there was a feature reminding you to respond to a message after a set period of time similar to how Gmail bumps emails you haven't responded to in your inbox. Pros One of the biggest pros about slack for me is how easy it is to find the history of conversation and files shared using the search bar. It also has that user friendly interface meaning you don't need tutorials to earn how to use slack. Cons Since, slack has that streamline feature, work can be streamlined but you might be overwhelmed by all the notifications/messages you get from the channels and threads. and also when i am in a place with low reception, it takes a time to receive message(good internet is a must). It has essentially replaced email as the major medium of notification and communication within my organization. Pros Great how it integrates with most of the other tools that my organization uses. This makes it a great hub/portal for a lot of my daily activities. Cons It's extremely difficult to find long in the past conversations, even with the new AI features. Fun fact is that people always ignore emails but they don't mind responding on slack. Pros Slack provides a more relaxed and convenient way of communicating across different teams or different departments. It allows for sharing of documents, links, doing a hurdle, and screen sharing and all those other essential things important in a semi professional environment. Cons Je n’arrive toujours pas à comprendre pourquoi il faut toujours que chaque discussion ouvre une nouvelle fenêtre lorsqu’on l’utilise sur le web, c’est désagréable quand on reçoit une notification.
