Pros

An amazing product that truly allows teams to connect, collaborate, and communicate with ease. It's extremely easy to share files via drag-and-drop, and there are almost no bugs or issues.

Cons

Obviously, it's a premium product and it comes to a premium price. It would be better if it were more affordable for certain organizations like charities, but getting access to their discounted program is challenging, and the process is not straightforward.

Cons

Sometimes the attachments I try to send will not attach due to size. Not the biggest deal, but always nice to be seamless.

Detailed Breakdown Value for Money: This is Slack’s Achilles' heel. While the "Fair Billing Policy" is great (only paying for active users), the jump to Enterprise Grid or even Pro tiers is a significant investment. For a company like Snoonu, you’re paying for the ecosystem and the time saved through automations, but the per-user cost is high compared to bundled alternatives like Microsoft Teams. Slack is a superb communication platform. It's easy, organized, fun, and effective. Of the many communication tools out there, like Discord and Telegram, Slack stands out with more capability and yet more simplicity.

Pros

What I most like about Slack are the video call feature (Huddle) and screen-recording feature (which also allows you to record audio and camera with it).

Cons

I can't think of anything significant that I don't like about Slack as a product. If anything, being owned by a smaller company rather than Salesforce would be preferred. And maybe having a different product name than "Slack" since it helps your teams get more done!

It does take some discipline (good channel hygiene, using threads, and knowing when to move things to docs), but when used well it’s a huge productivity boost.

it makes collaboration feel effortless—quick questions get answered fast, and it reduces the need for unnecessary meetings. I also really appreciate the way channels create a shared “team memory”: decisions, context, links, and updates are easy to find later, which is a huge help when you’re juggling multiple projects.

Cons

Slack can quietly create a “always-on” feeling—because messages move fast, it’s easy to feel pressure to respond immediately even when you’re deep in focused work. Overall, Slack has been great for my team. Whenever I'd talk to customer support, they would be very helpful, but honestly it wasn't that often that I needed help. My coworkers enjoy it, and it allows us to not have to just communicate by email, which can be pretty mundane.

Slack allowed me to communicate with my team with the utmost ease. The chat features allow for an easy and lighthearted conversation flow. Many of my coworkers enjoyed the UI customization options that made each of their individual accounts unique. I think it is a fantastic value for the money.

Cons

Sometimes, even when turned on, notifications would not pop up on mobile. This caused many team memebrs to miss things or respond to urgent maters later than needed.

Slack is great as a corporate messenger. It's simple and convenient to use. In general, it has all the necessary functionality for messaging and calls: good quality video and screen sharing in calls, groups creation and archiving, files exchange, etc. It's easy to sync it with other software to receive notifications (Gdrive, Hibob, Hubspot, etc.).

Pros

I can sync Slack with my Google calendar (it's very useful as I receive reminder notifications 1 minute before my meeting). It's easy to create groups in Slack (even with external users) - we use it to communicate with out external providers too. It's also possible to create polls in slack channels and templates for standardized messages. Now the AI tools have also been actively implemented in it. It generates recap of all messages received (especially long ones) - it helps reduce the time on reading some long less important messages.

Cons

Nothing in particular. No issues or bugs identified so far. Maybe it could have some GIFs available, even though it is for corporate use but we sometimes use them in my team.

Overall, my experience with slack is amazing and I love using it everyday for work. Having used other business communication platforms such as teams, Slack is much more responsive and easier to use.

Pros

I use slack literally everyday during for my work, where I direct message my colleagues, comment on threads, and keep up to date with channels and groups. Slack allows me to seamlessly communicate and work with my colleagues. There are many features I love about slack, such as the threads feature to categorize conversations, huddle feature to quickly hop on a call with colleagues, and the activity tab to see the latest activities to follow up and keep up to date with information.

Cons

There isn't too much cons about slack, but I notice periodically some features with Slack can be down at times, such as slow search times, slow responsiveness and lag. Most recently, the search feature in slack wasn't populating any searches. However, these are almost always incidents and bugs that Slack acknowledges and fixes within 1-2 hours.

Slack is easy and fun to use. There are just enough customizations and the integrations make the experience unique to your organization but familiar enough as you bring on new team members. I've used it at enterprise, smb and startup environments and it delivered in equal measure for each. Solid value for the money and very limited bugs and issues. I haven't used the customer support and don't have much to say about File storage features.

Pros

Slack has a sense of irreverence to it that is helpful for remote and hybrid cultures. A "cool kid" factor that you just don't find with Teams or other options. The app is also excellent and easy to use.

Cons

I don't prefer using Threads. I think the use of inline replies as an option instead of breaking out a thread is helpful in larger groups or longer conversations involving multitasking. I would also say that Teams calls are more intuitive and helpful than Huddles. Even still I prefer the experience overall to that of Teams and especially Google Chat.

Overall, I have had super positive experiences with Slack. The UI is very easy to navigate and understand. I never found a feature I wanted that wasn't there.

Pros

Slack is legit. I've used Slack for a long time for a lot of different things. I first used it for my college baseball team. We had Slack channels for everything, practice, travel, weights, game schedule, you name it. At work we use it or everything and I got it integrated with our Salesforce environment so we could talk business and open channels straight from sales leads.

Cons

A lot of the times, notifications were having trouble. Mostly on my iPhone. Sometimes push notifications would come through and sometimes they wouldn't. I tried everything to get them to work but never fully got it figured out.

Pros

Slack is a very easy to use, has a free tier is more than enough for many organizations, and is effective for almost any organization to use.

Cons

I have found that some of the integrations with other services can be a bit fiddly, but it's unclear whether that's Slack's doing or the other services. I'm also not a fan of it hiding channels and/or DMs after a period of inactivity, but that's just a personal preference.

I love Slack. It's the first thing I check in the morning when I am ready to start my work day, and it's the last thing I check before logging off for the day. It's super dependable and I love using it every day.

Pros

I absolutely love Slack-- I don't know what I would do without it. I love that it has been to heavily adopted by my company-- we use it jsut as much as email if not slightly more. I love all of the innovation they have been doing with AI as well.

Cons

I really don't have much to say about Slack in regard to what I do not like. From time to time, I experience what seems to be a bug with their notifications in app-- it says I have many unread messages, but I am all caught up, this generally solves itself and is not an issue that is interfering with my use of he tool.

Our team loves Slack and it is one of the applications they truly love using every day especially with the amount of time they spend using it. If it was difficult to use they would hate using it and be searching for alternative ways of communicating.

Pros

We have been using Slack since 2016 and it has become indispensible as the main source of all company knowledge and discussion over this time. We use Google Workspace and we first starting using Slack as there was comparative product as part of the their product suite and we still have no plans to get rid as Google Chat isnt even anywhere comparable with the Slack experience. Often we have to use Teams as its dictated by some of our clients and our employees hate this when they have to use Teams. We using it for DM's, group chat and project discussion and also allows us to easily share files with each other and we have confgured a number of connected apps and workflows. It is a very stable service that keeps our business running that is easy to use and has great customer support. Surprisingly it is great value for money considering the years of data and discussion we are able to archive and keep at hand within the platform.

Cons

I don't have many bad things to say about using Slack but the standout for me is prob the fact that it's not as tightly integrated as their main competitor, Teams. Teams is a combined product for video conferencing and team discussion. However we need to bolt on Zoom to make this a comparable product. This does mean we are using two best in class pieces of software but this does make things much expensive than a simple Microsoft subscription.

Overall, I really like using Slack. It makes it easy to stay in touch with the team, share files, and track ongoing projects. Sometimes it can get busy with notifications, but it’s a huge improvement over email, and I can’t imagine going back.

Pros

I like how Slack keeps everyone connected, especially in a remote setup. The instant communication, status updates, and ability to create focused channels make teamwork much smoother.

Cons

The main challenge with Slack is message overload. It’s hard to focus when there are constant pings from multiple channels. Better tools for highlighting critical messages or consolidating updates would make it more efficient for teams

Slack is awesome, I highly recommend it for use in both large and small companies. I used Slack while working as a client manager for a small substance abuse treatment facility. Our team was in constant communication regarding client updates or concerns, as well as team communication for coordinating logistics and coverage. Another Pro with Slack is not only can you type messages, but it also has a call feature that can be used to call a specific person or to do a group conference call. This was an extremely important and useful feature for the position and company I was at, at times when something was urgent it made a critical difference in timing to be able to call someone directly instead of sending a message they may not see right away. There are plenty of other software systems available that have mostly similar features and functionality, however I can say from first hand experience that Slack was reliable and consistent on many occasions where staff and management communication was critical in regards to client safety and navigating circumstances that absolutely could not wait. To me Slack remains as the top choice for workforce communication apps.

Pros

Slack is so easy to use, it’s straightforward and “user friendly” even for employees/coworkers that may not be very tech savvy. It has a lot of features and admin settings that make it great for work teams especially that you can do either direct messages with a specific person, a team/group channel for messaging a whole team at once, or can be narrowed down and set permissions for access to drill down different areas of communication within a team.

Cons

My alerts would constantly going off… but just kidding, this “con” was because of my position and company, not at all a slack issue. It’s actually just an additional PRO for Slack because you are able to control the notifications, what sound they do or don’t make, silence all notifications, or mute certain channels and not others, and even set it to only give a notification if your name is mentioned for a comment directly to you within a team channel. I can’t think of any real cons about Slack, it’s easy to use and performs exactly as it’s described and intended for company/group/team/individual communication.

### "Great Platform, App Needs Some Fixing!"

Overall I think Slack is a great platform, but the app needs some work so that users are always getting notified on their phones.

Pros

Slack has been an important communication tool for my business, and I find that the platform is easy to implement and use for chatting, sharing files, and scheduling events on the team.

Cons

For whatever reason, Slack seems incapable of sending real-time phone notifications consistently. I often find that I get notified about messages for a few hours, and then I won't get any notifications for the rest of the day despite receiving messages from team members.
