Office Manager Construction Used the software for: 2+ years ### "Slack is THE best! " November 30, 2025 5.0 Overall Slack is a great communication tool and definitely recommend for any business. Being able to download an app on your phone and have a way to communicate with everyone all over the world is a plus. Pros I started working for company that used Slack as the only form of communication between everyone at the company (from different parts of the world). Slack was honestly very nice to use, we all had different roles within the company and had channels created for each role. Everyone could see what we were each working on and it would keep a record of what we have completed. We had a mutual channel that we used for discussion and we also had private channels where we would discuss personal things with the supervisors. I liked that we could upload videos and pictures and react to certain discussions by emoji's. My favorite was to mark a task as completed with the green checkmark. We could always go back and look at the channels and find out if a specific task was completed. I only contacted Costumer support once and they were extremely helpful and friendly. Cons I don't think there is anything I don't like about Slack. We used it everyday multiple times a day and everything about It I loved. Review Source PU Philipp U. I very much like that it hasn't been flooded with chatbot-esque features, and really appreciate that each UI change they introduce is gradual and well informed. Pros Slack has done the work to make the most impressive and comfortable UI on the market. I am always confident that I will get notifications. I have submitted support tickets in the past and received an actual response. Speaking to single or groups of team members is made extremely easy through the product. File retention policies and file sharing is also easy to manage, and is one of the more secure means Cons The product is expensive, given that it is offered as an add-on through the standard suite of either google or microsoft's services. Pros I think the value of Slack lies in how versatile it has become over the last years. Not only is it helpful for communication purposes, but the project management features, collaborative workflow tools and customized add-ons make it great as a tool where every project can be seamlessly managed, without relying on too many apps. Cons When I first started using it, it was a bit of a learning curve for using some of its core messaging features. A silly example is that I struggled to find how to send gifs or customize emojis, since it wasn't as intuitive, but it wasn't hard to catch on. We are still a hybrid company and it's probably my most-used work software. Pros Very easy to chat with anyone! I like how they organize conversations. Notifications are easy to receive on laptop and phone. I can easily share files and also search for old files. I enjoy the ability to create and name channels. Lots of helpful features, including polls and schedule sending. I also enjoy the weekly trivia. Definitely worth the money we spend. Cons Honestly not much - I didn't find the card-sending features to be very helpful. I also find that some of the features, where you have to use a "/" to make them work, to be a bit confusing. We use it as a church for communication. It allows everyone to get announcements, but also allows smaller groups to organize communication circles that not everyone needs to see. Pros That it is a more private way to communicate with a group of people without having to share all your personal information with everyone else in the group. You can also set up smaller groups within a larger set so that the whole organization doesn't have to receive every communication. Cons It isn't intuitive for me. Especially when you are trying to invite a new person to join your slack group. I had to have someone help me with this several times. As a supervisor of my clinic, and a main communicator from my clinic to our sister clinics, it's exceedingly helpful so we don't have to tie up our own phone lines calling the other clinics. Pros I like how easy it is to send files and communicate between our 3 clinics. I also like that you have to be signed in under your own name so there is accountability. Cons I don't want to say there's anything I like "least" about Slack, but I would like a feature that shows that someone has "read" the message. Being able to set a schedule for when you get notifications on the mobile app is fantastic. Pros Slack is probably the most easy communication system. It has superior customization features as far as reminders, channel creation, and message scheduling. Cons This might just be a pet peeve of mine (and not so much on Slack), but if I have my notifications are off- it still gives other team members the option to push through the notification anyway... which I hate. You can make the channels about anything you want which I love and helps productivity immensely. Cons I think the call feature is a little hard to find. It's tucked away in the corner and makes you go looking for it to call people.
