### "Awesome Business Communication Tool!"

September 7, 2023

5.0

I have enjoyed using the application. I like how it can be installed on both my phone and tablet as well and easily sync and take calls on either devices.

Pros

1\. I like how sending messages to teammates is effortless2. I love the huddle feature as it's quite helpful in aligning on goals.3. I enjoy the customization of the application in terms of notification sounds, themes etc.4. I like the ease of use of the application.5. I like the dark theme as it's a lot easier on the eyes.6. I like how you can attach various forms of media and send them to colleagues.7. The capability of making channels private.8. I like how you can schedule messages that automatically get sent a bit later.9. I enjoy how close it makes colleagues feel even in a work-from-home setup.

Cons

1\. The pricing is a bit steep2. I wish it had better huddle and video conferencing capabilities. 3. I wish they could be rolling out updates and new features more often.4. I hate how when choosing an emoji the emoji tab disappears and you need to click again to bring it up. 5. I hate the display picture feature whereby a picture can come up as all messed up when uploaded.

### "An Awesome Internal Communication Tool at Work!!"

September 6, 2023

5.0

My overall experience with Slack has been fantastic. It helps with efficient questions/answers, communications, updates and check-ins. I don't know how I survived without in in the past!

Pros

I started using Slack 2 years ago after joining a tech company. I had never seen it before and it is such a wonderful tool for internal company and colleague communications! I use it daily to respond to employee inquiries, send reminders, employee recognition, just to say hi and check in, and general company updates. I love how you can adjust your notification settings (immediate, delayed, etc.) - I personally have my notifications on so I can know exactly when a new message or reaction comes in. One of the best features is being able to edit your sent message in case of typos or corrections (will show "edited" but still so helpful). We have basically moved all usual company email to Slack messages which ensures quick review and responses when needed.

Cons

I like just about everything but if I had to choose something, sometimes I miss a random "reply" under a previous message. You just have to double check for a bolded "reply" underneath if a long list of messages.

### "Slack honest review "

September 12, 2023

5.0

Slack has enhanced how we work as a company and couldn't imagine working without it now. If I could recommend only one software, it would be Slack.

Pros

slack is both free and paid and honestly you could use the free software and still get a bang for your money.

Cons

The video quality could be better. At work, we prefer using Zoom for both internal and external meetings.

### "Team slack"

September 6, 2023

5.0

With all the collaboration tools and integrations, it is easy to use and improves team productivity. I don't strain while communicating with team members and our team work is seamless

Pros

I like the fact that it brings internal and external team together across different locations, time zone and working style. This shows that it is flexible and helps me a lot with my freelancing business

Cons

Despite the fact that it does not provide enough storage not unless you subscribe for it, i can't complain much about slack

### "The best chat for work "

October 16, 2023

5.0

Pros

Slack is the best communication tool there. I work remotely so having a tool that can effectively allow us to communicate is very important and Slack has done a perfect job there. Besides communications, we can also have integrations with Hubspot, Airtable, PandaDoc, etc so we can receive important notifications when something important happens.

Cons

Nothing to point out. Sometimes there are some bugs where I record a video or audio message and the audio is not there, it's missing. Which is a bit annoying since I have to do it again, but it only happens once in a while.

### "Banishing Email culture with real time conversations - but still lacking features"

April 18, 2023

4.0

After decades of using Office software, Slack is a true breath of fresh air. It really says something about the culture of a company when you are able to really step away from Inboxes full of hundreds of unread emails to getting things done in real time on slack. Overall.. an absolute game changer!

Pros

The features and search functions are an absolute dream and I love being able to integrate a variety of apps into it.

Cons

Depending on your Plan level, there could be settings that mean your content is deleted after 90 days, which means it isn't a reliable archive and you can't go back and find old things. Also the notifications on the Mobile app can be a bit glitchy at times, meaning you can sometimes miss notifications.

### " Exploring Slack's Features and Functionality"

November 21, 2023

5.0

I really enjoyed working with slack as I was a mentor its made it easy for me to communicate and distribute information to my mentees . It made it easy for me to have conversations with people outside my country and outside my province as well.

Pros

The ability to organize conversations into specific channels based on teams, projects, or topics helps keep discussions focused and easily accessible. The platform facilitates real-time messaging, ensuring that team members can engage in quick, dynamic discussions and receive instant feedback.

Cons

For new users, navigating through various features and understanding the platform's full potential might require a learning curve. The constant stream of notifications, especially in active channels, can sometimes become overwhelming.

### "Communicate, Collaborate, & Maximize Productivity & Efficiency with One Platform (Slack)"

June 21, 2023

5.0

As a lead software engineer, my overall experience with Slack has been positive. Slack has been a valuable tool for communication and collaboration within my development teams, and it has helped to streamline our workflows and improve productivity.

Pros

As a Lead Software Engineer, here are the list of Slack features I like the most:- Slack's integration with other development tools, such as Github and Jira, allowing for a seamless workflow and reducing the need to switching between multiple tools or platforms.- Slack's customization options and notification settings which allow software engineers to tailor their experience to their specific needs and preferences.- Slack's search functionality, which allows users to easily find past conversations or files, without wasting time.

Cons

As a lead software engineer, while I appreciate most of Slack's features, one of the aspects that I like least about the platform is its tendency to become overwhelming with too many channels and notifications in large teams or organizations.

Reason for choosing Slack

We did chose Slack because it offered a more user-friendly interface, better customization options, and a more robust ecosystem of third-party integrations. Although we did consider several alternatives, we ultimately believed that Slack was the best choice for our team's needs.

### "Review For Slack chat app"

June 16, 2023

5.0

Voice and Video Calls: Slack enables users to make voice and video calls directly within the platform. Teams can hold virtual meetings, conduct audio conferences, or have face-to-face discussions using Slack's built-in calling capabilities.Screen Sharing: Slack's screen sharing feature allows users to share their screens with teammates during calls or even within channels. This functionality is particularly useful for presentations, remote collaboration, and troubleshooting.App Directory: Slack has an extensive App Directory that offers integrations with numerous third-party applications and services. These integrations enable users to bring data, notifications, and actions from other tools directly into Slack, making it a central hub for productivity and collaboration.Workflow Automation

Pros

Instant Messaging: Slack allows for quick and efficient communication through instant messaging. Users can send messages to individuals, groups, or entire teams, facilitating easy and immediate communication across the organization.Channels and Threads: Slack's channel-based communication structure enables users to create dedicated spaces for specific topics, projects, or departments. This helps to organize discussions and keep conversations focused. Additionally, threaded conversations within channels allow for more in-depth discussions without cluttering the main conversation.Notifications and Mentions: Slack's notification system ensures that users stay informed and engaged. Users can customize their notification settings to receive alerts for mentions, direct messages, or specific keywords. This feature helps ensure timely responses and reduces the chances of missing important information.File Sharing and Collaboration

Cons

Slack has a wide range of features beyond those mentioned above, such as voice and video calls, screen sharing, and workflow automation. Different teams and individuals may have varying preferences, so the most important feature in Slack can vary depending on specific use cases and need

Reason for choosing Slack

Due to the organization policy to use slack

### "Great tool for team communication"

June 20, 2023

5.0

As a remote worker, Slack helps keeps everyone informed on projects, helps build teamwork and togetherness, and allows for instant communication despite having coworkers all over the world.

Pros

This is an easy way to collaborate with anyone on the team. Plus you can connect with other workspaces if your company is partnering with another entity.

Cons

The new update filters users by when they are online as opposed to recent chats, or alphabetically. This means you'll see users automatically shifted around in the sidebar of the app, so it makes it harder to find the chat you're looking for.

### "Best in class work IM tool"

June 21, 2023

Business wide communication has become easy now. Internal emails are few, and mean that everyone can stay in the loop without long email chains.

Pros

Huddles, custom emoji, easy setup and the channels features make this a powerhouse software. It's super easy to use and integrates with all my software (Figma, Jira, Confluence, GCal).

Cons

I'd like to be able to customise the keyboard shortcuts as some of them are not intuitive to me personally, but other than that it's a very customisable experience.

### "Professional and Business Class Messegner"

July 17, 2023

5.0

Slack proved to be the only business communicating application for us and it was helpful for us to add our clients as guests at no cost or to make channels private and open (public). It saves a lot of the trauma going back and forth for something via email or phone call.

Pros

We are delightful using Slack everyday, it's smooth and clean, like an ALL in ONE tool for business communication. We really like the editor and integrations that Slack has and brought to us. It's easy to cross chat between companies and even share a channel between. The fact that we easily share a file there and search anything is very convenient!

Cons

I did not find something that I did not like, but they can work on customizability of the product. For instance if we could change fonts, or make more adjustments, that would be a nice feature to add. But nothing to not like!

### "A solid and diverse bridge of communication in a company"

August 10, 2023

5.0

Pros

What makes Slack suitable for my job is the ability to offer a safe space for the entire team, offer a variety of ways to communicate (video, audio, video-audio, DMs) within the company, not being afraid of any confidential data leakage. Although having a lot of features (they are improving the app constantly) it is not difficult to navigate through the app. You don't feel overwhelmed, having to move around the app, it is easy to multitask within the software.

Cons

From an administrative point of view Slack can get a bit pricey, but for me (way down the hierarchal line), downside of the price is replaced by the downside of inability to recover deleted data such as messages, DMs.

### "Slack - An incredibly popular workplace messaging app"

June 17, 2022

5.0

Over the past year and a half, I have used Slack as my primary communication and productivity tool. I have been impressed with the platform's ease of use and the breadth of features it offers to its users. I have also been impressed with the number of Slack integrations available, which have increased my productivity and efficiency. I have also been impressed with the amount of support Slack provides its users, which has allowed me to focus on my work rather than troubleshooting problems. Initially as a tool to help me communicate and collaborate with my team and later as a place to share and discuss content with the world. I’ve been impressed with the ease of use and the power of the platform. Over time, I’ve found that Slack has become a key part of how I communicate and share information. I can get a lot done in Slack, but there are still some things that keep me on the platform instead of other tools.

Pros

1\. Slack is an incredibly popular workplace messaging app that’s used by millions of people every day. It’s a great tool for keeping groups together, sharing information, and collaborating 2. It is used by over 13 million daily active users and has been valued at over $2.8 billion. Slack is an excellent tool for team communication 3.Slack is a messaging app that lets you send messages, files, and emojis to coworkers and clients. It’s a great way to communicate and collaborate 4. Slack is one of the most popular workplace communication platforms, used by more than one-quarter of companies with more than half a billion daily active users. The platform is loved by some, hated by others, and many are still undecided about its usefulness 5. When most people think of communication, they think of email. But when it comes to team communication, email doesn’t always work. It can be hard to keep in touch with a single platform, and it’s easy for the conversation to get derailed or get lost in the shuffle. But now there’s another option: Slack. 6. It has many advantages, such as the ability to share files and work together on large files in the same workspace

Cons

1\. The biggest disadvantage of using Slack is that you can’t customize it to suit your team’s needs. For example, you can’t customize the design of your channel or change the background color. 2. It's great for broadcasting what's happening in your team, but it's not a good place to brainstorm, share confidential information, or make decisions. It's also difficult to get individual attention when you need it.

### "Slack Review as a internship student"

August 31, 2021

4.0

Pros

It is a very good software to connect with the students and administrators working on the similar project. I used it as an intern working on some project and it was awesome. We can schedule our tasks, connect with anyone in team using mentions in comments. It gives us eligibility to tag our tasks like completed, ongoing, etc. to not to confuse the others. While there is also a feature of video calling also, we haven't used it so I cannot provide details about it. Also one of the best features of it is fast sharing of big files(1 GB) among the team directly on the platform. To simplify the tasks, we can create them in parts and add them to checklist to avoid any confusions. Other feature of it is good device compatibility for all devices like laptop, desktop, smartphone, tablet, etc. It provides an easy-to-use, highly productive mobile app for the ease of mobile users, the feature I personally prefer as best. Another major pros of this software is notification system on communication channels, which makes it easier for clients to get notification and check for all the times one is mentioned to in the chat.

Cons

Firstly, it is expensive compared to its paid features and other alternatives. It is basically a teams messaging software where we can communicate using DM, channels, mentions, comments while it lacks built-in features for managing projects and tasks. Others cons I noticed and heard from fellow clients is problem with audio video synchronization. Also, the search system is not as effective since it only shows the most recent words of the search and does not show all of the results which leads to some problems in searching old messages faster. After using some alternatives and comparing with them, the theme is not great for use. Although we can change the theme, but as one says "FIRST IMPRESSION IS THE LAST IMPRESSION". Upon further comparison, I noticed that it uses more RAM than other alternatives. So the company should work on creating lite version of the software with good default theme to make it more usable for other clients. Also, company should also work on Slackbot to make it more effective.

### "An essential tool for remote work"

August 9, 2021

5.0

Great experience with this reliable chat software. It definitely makes remote work so much easier and organized.

Pros

Reliable, easy-to-use desktop version, Slack has become an essential tool for any company operating remotely. Great that you can choose to create a channel, message one or more people privately, it's so much better than email. It's also a good tool for communication and project management. One my favorite features is the thread inside conversations - it just makes the exchange of information so organized and easy to find later on. For teams that operate on different schedules/time zones, it's great that you can catch up on what's going on later on with ease.

Cons

I believe the mobile app needs some improving. I understand it's difficult to transfer the desktop layout to an app, but it's difficult to see who's messaging you. It's just too easy to miss something.

### "Great for virtual team collaboration"

April 3, 2019

5.0

Since I use it everyday, I would say this is has become an invaluable tool for me and collaborating with colleagues (w/the exception of not being able to see msg history beyond 10k). I would recommend this to anyone who works virtually OR if you're like me and drown in emails. It doesn't matter if you are in a tech field or not: if you can text an use social media, you can juse Slack. bottom line, it's a WIDELY used tool with a growing number of other app integrations that the paid version allows you to seamlessly tie your \[communication\] workflow together. I resisted for a while but now I can't imagine not having it.

Pros

\- Slack allows me to commimicate in real time without using email with clients and colleagues all over the country & the world. The free version doens't have as many features as paid, but still robust enough to work for a small 1-man shop - Channels (topics/groups) allow for communication on a topic w/only relevent members (by invitation). preventing tons of emails to track = it's all in one place, in timeline format; this allows you to see who wrote what, when and, whatwas shared (urls, files/photos, etc). - Direct/private chats for more sensitive info - Notification types vary based on your set preferences: when you're mentioned in a channel, indexing keywords. w/hashtags for searching history (like bookmarking). - Video conference calls (paid version allows for up to 15 participants, screen sharing, more storage space & unlimited msgs) - Save comments for later w/reactions or saves to something shared. Clients can be invited to channels and only see that channel's content, allowing things to continue. - File sharing, video calls & integrating with lots of other software/services listed on their site) combines all communication in one tool reducing the need for emails - Cost for the paid plans is relatively nominal and since it elminates the need for emails in many cases, it ultimately pays for itself by saving time + the additional features you get. - Online access to customize your account - Multiple teams (i.e. 1 for your main business, 1 if you're invited, etc

Cons

Based on my experience using the free version, I find some of the features to be less intuitive = I can't be sure if I can integrate something for a smaller fee or if it's only available in a paid plan. Since many chats tend to grow over time, the free version limits you to 10k messages; you'd be surprised how fast that gets used up. If you try to search for something once you exceed 10k msgs, you may not have access to it. (I get it, it's the free version but it's like texting for business. 10k is small in grand scheme of things so you have to remember to save things you really think you'll need or you'll lose them.

### "The absolute best team communication software."

July 8, 2019

5.0

I have absolutely enjoyed Slack in the time that I have used the service. I think that t

Pros

My experience with Slack has been absolutely magnificent. Slack has amazing features and here are some of my favorite ones: History: A new member is added to a Slack channel, instantly has access to the entire conversation history right from when the channel was created, including shared files and all. This makes bringing a new team member onboard a project that much more seamless as s/he can easily go through earlier conversations to gain context and insight. This really helped me as a new employee. Jump to date: All of Slack's functionality is cloud-based. This amazing feature lets you jump to a specific date in the history of a conversation. So, if you're looking for what a colleague sent to you on your birthday or a flier that was sent out on independence day, this helps you avoid scrolling through tons of messages and media. Search: Slack's search allows you to search through several conversations (channels and direct messages) instantly for keywords and to filter by sender, conversation and date as well as to sort by most recent or most relevant. Also, this functionality searches not just messages, but files as well for the keywords you enter. Slackbot & Reminders: Slack's helpful reminders help you stay on top of your game. With a few clicks, you can ask the Slackbot to remind you in 20mins, an hour, 3 hours, tomorrow or next week. Helpful shortcuts, relatable reactions, and powerful integrations are some of the other awesome features of this intuitive software.

Cons

Price: As an employee, I don't bother about the pricing but I can tell that it might be a hindrance for smaller start-ups Well, there's a limited-use free version but the app isn't free at scale. Group DMs: Slack allows you to create multi-way chats (group DMs) that accommodate 3 to 8 members. However, once created, you cannot add another member to an existing group DM. Privacy: Privacy is very limited on Slack. Admins with enough clearance can pretty much gain access o everything, including your direct messages with another user. Keep personal conversations off Slack.

### "Never Slacks"

April 27, 2020

5.0

I was first introduced to the product when I was working at a photographic agency. It's a very fast-paced environment that requires incredibly efficient communication and swift project management. I was doing my research and experimented with Slack for a brief time. I felt inspired by the benefits and presented it to the workplace. They immediately downloaded the solution and I set up the software for them from my side. Within minutes, we had a newly impressive communication tool that eased our stresses at a colossal level. Very great build and I look forward to its growth.

Pros

I love this application for a majority of reasons. Slack is very minimalistic but also beautifully done. It presents your desired information in a very organized manner and makes it easy for the receiver to understand. It balances colors well and provides brief templates for you to use. Another aspect I like about Slack is the multiple formats of data you can send into a single chatroom space. It's extremely convenient and essential for your company's needs.

Cons

I don't have any negative thoughts for Slack because it fulfills our company's needs to a great extent.

Reason for choosing Slack

One thing I've noticed with the other products, as opposed to Slack, was their visual approach. As minor as it may seem, this factor plays a major role for creative professionals. Especially for photographers, we strive on communication that is clear and easy to read. So Slack was tested with our teams and delivered promising results. Google Hangouts and Microsoft Teams, unfortunately, made the connection and networking far more difficult than necessary.
