Team communication and remote work made easy.

Pros

Easy to use and the best part about the slack is that it integrates with all the major apps and project management systems, so you don't have to switch between multiple windows to keep yourself updated.

Cons

There are no such cons about this software. There is always a scope of improvement in all the products, no matter how big the product or service is.

### "The slack for slackers that dont own discord "

April 17, 2023

my overall tally of the application was pretty nice as i invited friends to work on business projects i still use it as my most prevalent communication app aside from discord

Pros

i like the value of giving a wide range of emojis on startup and not multiple background processes are forced to run on your computer leaving you at ease with yourself while you get in your community and plat whatever game you best describe yourself

Cons

i dislike the various commands that where not properly introduce it works as a double edge sword as it is good for use yet induces frustration in other words a startup you tube video would fix that problem in less that an update

### "Magic tool for remote work communication"

October 18, 2021

5.0

Love it-Hope to use slack regardless of where I end up throughout everyday life. May even use it for individual utilize and can undoubtedly make bunch visits with companions,

Pros

Slack makes informing proficient and puts together messages into various channels. It is extremely helpful to private message just as make gatherings. Moreover, records are saved and filed for simple access. I likewise enjoyed the usability and capacity to work together with anybody in your association. My most loved uses out of the product 1.) Unlimited number of channels-Public/Private 2.) Ability to make shapes that get distributed to explicit channels 3.) Love utilizing the/remind piece so I can get pings about undertakings requiring finish or a straightforward subsequent update 4.) You can have some good times and tweak. For instance: We have a 'Jokes' channel that the leeway bot will make you wisecracks on the off chance that you ask 'bot make me a father quip'- It's astounding

Cons

Difficult to think of any as a client yet heres a shot: 1.) The limitless assortment of channels makes the high opportunities to get steady pings in case somebody @'s you in a channel. 2.) You get dependent and wind up using your organization correspondence application 'Slack' off hours and simply signing on as though it were a web-based media page. I disdained the failure to make a public gathering "private" after it's creation. Would incidentally slack and my. messages would just come through on my telephone and not work area

### "My preferred work chat app"

October 27, 2021

5.0

Overall, Slack is a good, professional tool to keep your team communicating. Set different channels for departments or projects, and be sure to have one fun one for gifs or employee pets!

Pros

I've used a lot of different chat software at this point for various jobs, and I think Slack remains my favorite. It feels cleaner and less noisome; I don't seem to have the same distracting notifications from Slack that I would get from Microsoft Teams or Discord (yes, I've gone through settings--it's just how team permissions are set up by default and admin isn't going to change them). Integrations are seamless, and the user interface is aesthetically appealing to me (especially compared to Teams).

Cons

The in-app video conferencing in chat software is always a little slow, so I don't really hold that against Slack, but I would advise simply linking or otherwise integrating meeting tools meant specifically for that purpose (like Zoom).

Pros

I love the fact that I can still communicate with my patients and my coworkers while I was working remotely with ease. I never had any software issues within slack and I was able to send files and things that I needed to through the app.

Cons

### "My experiences using Slack for the past 3 years"

August 14, 2021

5.0

Overall, it's been a great tool since joining the tech industry in 2018. It's made communication really easy as well as being able to keep track of the communication. It is definitely my go-to communication tool for teams.

Pros

I like how easy it is to use, if it's been set up correctly that is. I like that I can organize my channels into specific categories to make my workflow smoother and easier to navigate through it all. The integrations with Google Docs, Google Calendar, or our company's ATS have made things easier as well. Also being able to set notification settings for each channel also allows me to mute the channels that aren't priorities, or ensure I'm notified for channels that definitely are. I also really enjoy the search function to be able to look for previous communication. Likewise, I like that I can DM myself as this functions like a personal notebook for me. Likewise, being able to emoji messages saves a lot of time in terms of aknowledging/reactions.

Cons

I definitely am not using Slack to its full capacity, but I don't know what I'm missing out on as it's not clear to me what more I could be using to make my life and work easier. Every now and then the desktop app doesn't want to load and I'm stuck with a blank screen and then I need to make use of the web app. For our package, that we're limited to only 5 set status' can feel a bit limiting to me at times. When creating DM message groups, I'd like to be able to add someone to it without losing the whole message thread or having to create a new group, but I haven't found a way to do that.

### "Such an amazing communication tool, we only regret not using it sooner"

August 31, 2021

Pros

Slack so seamlessly becomes part of the entire team's daily workflow. We tried several other solutions before landing on Slack. It was a total game changer.

Cons

Slack can be glitchy, and inviting others to collaborate in your workspace can be a finicky process, but that's such a small thing. Otherwise it's great.

### "I will never slack off as long as I'm using Slack!"

April 17, 2023

5.0

My company began using this when we started growing. We were able to collaborate not only with each other but with other lending institutions we worked with. We also had an assistant come on board and it allowed us to connect with her daily even though she was in another country.

Pros

The messaging, collaboration, file sharing, and private messaging. Also the fact that so many people use it, it's so easy to collaborate.

Cons

Nothing really. I had no complaints about the app. It's like they used the best features of any instant messaging app I ever used.

### "Slack is great for all business types"

August 19, 2021

5.0

I love using Slack. It just makes working remotely so much easier because your coworkers are just a quick message away on your phone or computer. You can also organize things very easily by creating "channels" for certain topics, which makes it so you know immediately the context of what people are asking of you when you get messages. It's a fantastic tool for small, medium, and large businesses.

Pros

The features I like the most about Slack are their API integrations and app marketplace (which makes it easy to connect the software you currently use to perform automations) and how it streamlines team communication by making it so easy to message your colleagues.

Cons

There's not a lot to dislike about Slack, but the one thing I would say is that I wish Slack would let you assign tasks to colleagues and send automated reminders. I think this could be done by using one of their integrations, but I'd prefer for this feature to be built in.

### "If I have Slack, I don't need an email"

August 3, 2021

5.0

Overall, Slack has had a great impact on the productivity of my teams. I hold the position of office admin and I manage three teams of Graphic Designers, SEO, and Web-Developers. Everybody is connected through Slack. All the communication is done via Slack. We have stopped sending emails and shifted all the official and formal communication to Slack. It is easy and time-saving to get an acknowledgment of a new office policy and work on a number of other projects.

Pros

Let's get straight to what Slack is good for: Team collaboration - check Instant messaging - check File-sharing - check Audio/video call - check Multiple channels - check Slack is easy to install and work with. There's nothing complicated about it. It is an effective application for instant messaging. What I love most about the software is that it allows creating different channels for different teams. It works as separate virtual offices to manage work more efficiently. Isn't it cool? In Slack, you can let your team members know about your availability - turn on/offer your notifications and when you are bored, you can ask the chatbot to tell you a joke. It is pretty easy to send messages, share files, and integrate other applications such as Google Drive to import documents. Moreover, the Workflow builder and Analytics tools are my favorites.

Cons

I don't know if it is really a disadvantage but Slack is kind of addictive. It has so many options, a cool set of emojis, formatting tools, the bot, and an easy way of communication that it keeps me busy chatting all the time. Oh well, one more thing: in the free version, the old messages keep disappearing. It happened to me a couple of times that I had to check an old piece of information but it was removed automatically. So, be watchful if you're still on the free version and thinking to make a decision on purchase the premium plan.

### "Slack is perfect for cooperating with your team, for conversations and for creating groups"

November 20, 2022

4.0

Pros

You can create groups per project or issues with all relevant people and you can share documents, images and everything really simple. There are icons and emojis which are funny and the notifications are very well integrated and help distinguish the important from the not relevant.

Cons

Video-calling and audio-calling are just not working well and slack for cell phone does not update really well and there are some conversations that you can miss.

Cons

### "The whole package"

October 14, 2022

5.0

Overall, my team and I's experience has been stellar. I would highly recommend any remote companies (or non-remote) to use Slack as their internal communication tool.

Pros

There's not enough space for me to write all that I love! Slack is incredible. Their team truly listens to recommendations from users and tries to add new, helpful features every month. The different channels, huddle feature, file sharing, and integrations are what come to mind when I think of my favorite features.

Cons

Nothing, and I genuinely mean that! Slack has exceeded my expectations in almost every avenue since the day we started using it.

### "Wonderful platform for remote work"

August 2, 2022

5.0

Pros

I work remotely, so my primary communication with my team is through Slack. It makes it easy to upload files, communicate with a group or individuals, and see who is available. The channels make it easy to chat only with the people essential to that topic. Searching for past information is simple as well. Overall, this is a great way to experience the job and company I work for remotely.

Cons

I am disappointed with the mobile experience because I often miss messages, or read old messages that send me notifications as if they were new, which results in miscommunications with teams. For some reason my phone does not notify my consistently of messages in real time and I have been unable to resolve this issue.

### "Communication Among Employees"

February 15, 2020

5.0

My overall experience with the software is positive. It solves the problem of large scale communication done with members of a company from a single source. There are a few drawbacks but that could be due to the size of a company and the organization of the user with the software.

Pros

This software allows employers to communicate information to employees on a large scale. An employer can designate certain people as administrators. This gives them the ability to make threads that include certain people for a certain topic that needs to be discussed. Private messages can also be sent but note that the top administrator can still view these private messages between employees (so be cautious of what you're saying). Let's say that a business owner owns multiple businesses and wants to use this software to communicate with different employees. The business owner can set up specific threads for that certain business and still doesn't have to sign out of one account and sign into another.

Cons

One con that could possibly be a pro as well would be that people have to be invited and removed from discussions. This can make the employer selective of who is in certain discussions (threads). The con of this is that it can be easy to forget to remove a person from the discussion. Let's say that the employee doesn't work with the company anymore, they might accidentally be part of specific conversations. Another con would be that discussions have to be physically archived. This can be good for evidence of discussions but it leads to a long list of discussions and private communications. At least there is a search function that helps you find specific discussions but it can be confusing if you forget who was involved in certain discussions.

### "The communication tool you can't do without"

December 22, 2020

5.0

Slack has improved our communication workflow with our team and improved the way we interact with clients. It allows for multiple language to be spoken by using some translation tools, thus including more staff and especially non-english speaking staff.

Pros

Slack is a great collaborative software that helps users to collaborate across cities, countries, and timezones. It is a crucial part of our project workflow and helps to let developers, project managers, and clients speak to each other in a collaborative enviroment. It has numerous integrations that allow for third-party apps to interact, create, and receive messages and alerts. These integrations allow us to have one place in which all communications can flow and makes it easier for a worldwide team to be up on the latest updates and critical alerts that may happen.

Cons

The slack tool can be a little battery intensive, especially as you add more slack channels. It also gets quite expensive as you add additional paid members to the group. If you are not aware of all your paid members, or you add guests as paid it can get very expensive quickly. Because this is a discussion, it is also possible that critical conversations can get lost in the stream of texts coming through.

Reason for choosing Slack

The number of integrations, ease of use, system platforms available. (i.e. Linux, Mac etc)

### "Extremely useful if sometimes unreliable"

October 12, 2022

5.0

I've been using slack for about five to six years now. It's been my main tool of communication with my teams and I have found it a delight to use which only gets better with the years.

Pros

Messaging in general is extremely efficient, easy to use, and has powerful formatting tools. Communication is very forgiving to latency and even disconnections. Integrations are amazing and the highlight of the application, I wish there were more. And video conferencing, while not the main feature of the application, is at the level of specialized tools like zoom and google hangouts.

Cons

The cons are mostly on the notifications side, as they can become very unreliable when not sitting in front of the application. This can however be easily circumvented in case of emergency, simply by using alternate means of communication.

### "Actively but serious buddy backup your team link."

September 28, 2021

4.0

A mixture tool for many usage scenarios, need more powerful features to build in.

Pros

Amazing channel concept links almost everything you need and involved in your working environment. With vivid lively emoji icons to express real feelings between real people. It can work anywhere on your PC's desktop, in your web browser, or from your smartphone. Different levels of privacy control separate public affairs, I can really focus on my job fully. You can attach much-related stuff in the conversation, like different files, songs, or pics.

Cons

Not fully support in team meeting functions, such as meeting room with real-time video communication, voice call, or video call. There is no whiteboard or similar function in communications. The voice message can not be transcribed automatically to text, does not match with other similar apps. There are no notification or task memo similar functions

### "Best for communications!"

August 10, 2022

It allows our team to connect instantly the inbuilt huddle feature will enable us to communicate now. Screen share help is most doubt clearing sessions. It has increased the performance of the team.

Pros

Slack gives instant notifications to the tagged person, which defines the particular user. Unlike other platforms where it notifies all. There are several but slack stood among them. The instant messaging facility helped a lot with instant notifications, enabling users to immediately get the critical update to the right person.

Cons

There is no such thing as dislike. Daily update keeps things clean. Hopefully slack will continue the same doing in future as well. Keep updating the bugs and bring new features.

### "This is the new way to communicate online"

May 12, 2019

5.0

I use Slack for daily communication business and to stay connected to coworkers and suppliers distributed among different locations. We have implemented Slack as a missing link that smoothly makes working with people on the other side of the country as if they would be sitting in an office just down the hallway.

Pros

Slack is simple, it is easy to use it has a lightweight user experience thus, at the same time is very powerful. In day to day routines it is just a great way of communicating (chatting) with coworkers. Perfect, reliable, fast asynchronous communication. Then someone tells you something you need to remember next week- use integrated reminders, that send you a message when you need it. Or you want to share your desktop real quick, to sho someone something in order to get their opinion. Slack has you covered. Or have a video call with someone or even a group of people. There you have it. Share files ? No problem. Want to have your conversations deleted after a while. there you go. The most impressive thing about all this is the simplicity and ease in which these features integrate into the core functionality which is a chat. Bravo !

Cons

Some of the features seem - behind the scenes - not optimized allready. Sharing data from my mobile device require it for example, to be uploaded first and then downloaded to the recipient. It works, but it takes more time and, I don't care when it is on the server I only care for it to reach the intended recipient(s). Synchronize it to the server whenever its suitable. Connection and reconnection gets tangled up sometimes, with Slack insisting that there is no connection available although all other applications have reconnected already. This however is complaining on a very high level, as these issues are really minor compared to almost all other platforms for online communication I have used.

I'm able to connect with my teammates efficiently to support our customers!

Pros

I love the ability to connect with my team across the entire market. I work in a position where I'm the only one and it is great to have a resource to connect with the community. The ability to real time chat, instead of relying on email is key to resolving issues in a timely manner.

Cons

The notification system could be improved - with emails being more timely and the desktop notifications being less intrusive.

### "Keep Calm And Slack On"

May 13, 2022

5.0

My overall experience has been great though. Slack is definitely worth the money and it's a very useful software for companies. If a company is wondering if they should purchase slack, I say go for it. It can increase productivity and efficiency.

Pros

One of my favorite features of the software is the group features. Before I started working from home, I was able to create a group with myself and my children so I could communicate with them while I was at work and not able to call. Cell phones are not allowed at our desks so if I needed to reach any of my children, I would simply send a slack message from my desk. I love it!

Cons

What I like the least is if you are in a group and a message was sent to you other people can click on it and read the message. For eg, if I reach out to my workforce team regarding my shift or my skilling anyone in the group can see what the response is. It's not a big deal because private groups are allowed I just think this feature can be looked into and upgraded if possible.
