“FareHarbor Has Finger On Pulse of My Business & Like Having One's Own Private Team!”

OverallI grew up with eTix, moved along with ZERVE (whom I adored) and then came into FareHarbor once ZERVE bit the dust. FareHarbor had some kinks at first but then took the torch and ran with it like a leader well in touch with things. I like that FareHarbor gets that although there's a template or universal aspect to tour businesses, that there are also some like my own that are constantly changing, evolving and pushing the envelope and do more than stay conventional. It means the world that their team is open to my evolution and are willing to work to create new dimensions to their own system to help me fulfill my vision! That's massive and money in the bank!
ProsSounds cliche, but it's very organic and "thinks" like someone in the tour industry. It's almost scary! It's like the software knows what I'm thinking at times, stays ahead of me but then other times, it's like I'm teaching it new things. Very collaborative feeling.
ConsI doubt if anything is dummy proof but this is as close as it can get. I do hope that in the future, they will find a way for me to add some alternative things to the checkout for the customer. I have a product that is related to the traveler experience and would love to have it as a check out option right before they buy the tour tickets or complete the transaction because I feel its like a final sale's plug reminder that they might either jump on board with or be interested enough to go back and review the product's description and be influenced to purchase it last second. Currently its an item for sale but its too separated from where I think it needs to be personally.

“Remarkably flexible. Does everything I need it to do. Support people look for ways to help my biz.”

OverallI wrote a review for software that I use. I don't know what Capterra really does, but I might look to see if I can find a substitute for QuickBooks accounting software here.
ProsCleverly flexible. Has configurable settings to do all sorts of customizing of available time slots, staffing, pricing, etc. I never run into something I wish it would do that it doesn't already do. I know there are portions I am not even using that would probably benefit me even more. Easy to populate initially. I really don't remember much about that process because the FareHarbor people did most of it for me. The support team calls me from time to time to check if they can help me configure my upcoming seasonal schedule or anything else. Sometimes they contact me to notify me of new features I might be interested in. They spread non-competitive information about their other customers' experiences that might benefit me with regard to managing reviews, working with affiliates, working with concierges, etc. Integrates with Viator and Expedia and other resellers. Has never ever been unavailable.
ConsIt can't be both endlessly configurable/customizable and fast/simple at the same time. So I feel like there are a lot of clicks to get done what I need. I can't think of how to eliminate clicks though without eliminating features. Beyond that, I am reaching for ideas. Perhaps if there were some sort of integration with our QuickBooks accounting software that would be helpful. Because I am on it all day every day, perhaps an android app would be better than accessing it from the browser on my phone, but I am not sure how beneficial that would be. I am unsure how they could do it, but they as a company don't have any web presence that drives visitors to their vendors. Back when Zozi was around, they had a website that steered people to their customers but that was a different business model. I can't complain about the cost. I pay them so little that I wonder how their business model works. But I really have to get creative to think of any shortcomings. None that are software related.

“From customer support to foolproof features, our experience with FareHarbor has been superb.”

ProsWhile the features of this software are plentiful and easy to use, we most enjoy the prompt, friendly customer support available to us through FareHarbor. Our Account Manager, Kristin, always delivers excellent work even when we provide her with information that can be unclear. She is a fantastic liaison between our business and FareHarbor Support, and she seems to go out of her way to ensure we're using FareHarbor to the best of our ability by facilitating appointments with FareHarbor support for us to learn how to make minor changes on the backend of our website, answering questions in a timely manner, and implementing new information to our website on a weekly basis.
ConsOne feature we enjoy least about this software is its mobile functionality. While it's certainly compatible with mobile devices, it's not always the most mobile-friendly in terms of working behind the scenes and formatting. Some examples include trouble viewing booking notes and updating manifests, text appearing too large, pictures a bit out of focus, etc. However, any adjustments we ask to be made in terms of format are quickly resolved by FareHarbor Support. On another note, there are times when we make adjustments in the dashboard ourselves - without the help of customer support. Yet, often those changes still have to be submitted to FareHarbor support staff, so they can make those amendments appear on our website to customers. It feels repetitive. If those small changes could automatically be reflected on the website, we feel both our staff and customer support staff could become more efficient. Finally, there seem to be plenty of features available at FareHarbor of which we users are unaware. For instance, our website was outdated and desperately needed some attention. We weren't aware we could get a website upgrade, or makeover if you will, until a support staff member reached out to us about that possibility directly. Perhaps implementing a list of available features - especially those that are at no additional cost - to all users would be a positive change all around and would ensure use all parties are using FareHarbor to the best of their ability.

“Finally! Reservations software that makes sense for small business.”

OverallWorking with FareHarbor has allowed us to modernize our website and reservations system into something that is appealing to our customers. It's easy to use, it's secure, and allows us to create more revenue through direct bookings and keep our cashflow rather than having to pay fees to a reservation software company.
ProsCould not be easier to use. Great customer service. FareHarbor constantly upgrades their system and works with us to make improvements. The FareHarbor team responds to issues and inquiries immediately and resolve things appropriately. We have never had an issue go unresolved. They listened to our needs and helped us customize our FareHarbor experience to suit. It has performed near flawlessly for three years. Our online reservations jumped from 6 per month to 25 or so per month almost immediately after deploying FareHarbor. Guests love the interface and ease of use. We love the cost to us (nothing) and the dramatic increase in direct bookings. They also redesigned our website. Updates to our website are only an email away and the end result looks and functions perfectly. We have been approached by many competing software systems over the years and have looked into all of them. None of them can touch FareHarbor.
ConsWe have not come across any "cons" with FareHarbor. Any issues we come across and communicate to FareHarbor are resolved.

“Lightyears beyond Bookeo”

OverallEverything related to booking and reservation management, payment processing, etc.
ProsVery deep, extensive functionality. It blows me away how much you can do with this software. The level of customization is mind boggling. We were formerly with Bookeo and it was alright, especially considering the low price, but it was quite simplistic and that caused us some frustrations. It was also pretty outdated in the user interface appearance. Fareharbor booking interface looks very slick and it's a lot quicker for customers and reservationists to make bookings. The software on the backend is very powerful and well thought out. You get complete functionality on mobile and iPhone app that you do with desktop. Bookeo was frustrating how watered down their mobile version was. And they said they had zero interest in making an iPhone or Android app. Fareharbor is a "full service" solution the likes of which I have never seen. They have a department that will create a new Wordpress website for you, a dept that works to set up affiliate access so third parties can book through the system without calling you. They integrate seamlessly with Viator/Expedia/etc. They have several teams of people that specialize in different areas. You get a ton of attention as a new customer and they take care of almost all the setup work. If you are the type that doesn't want to learn how to do any of this kinda stuff yourself or you don't have the time to, Fareharbor is a great solution. I was skeptical that any booking software could be THAT much better than another, but it really is.
ConsI was very excited to hear about all the many impressive features they offer. What I didn't realize is that it takes a lot of effort to set them all up. Granted they can do ALL of the work for you, so you're in no way left on your own with any of it. But it does take time. I'm a do-it-yourself kind of person; Bookeo was 100% do-it-yourself and I was fine with that. I'm the type of person that doesn't like asking for help or asking other people to do something for me. I want to figure it out and customize it myself. ...Fareharbor is NOT a do-it-yourself system. You will absolutely need their help for a lot of the features to get set up properly. I tried exploring on my own to set up some customization and there's no way you'd be able to figure out most of the feature setup on your own. To be fair, their software isn't designed to be that way, though. It's not a Squarespace/Wix/Bookeo style product. It's very customizable, and as such, you need their help. It takes some time, dozens of phone calls and emails over the course of weeks (and months, as you fine-tune the deeper features). And there is a learning curve. But the depth of functionality and the extensiveness of their software is worth it in the end. Tech support team is great, always taking calls 24/7 (email response time is kinda slow though). Can't imagine anyone else being better. I see why they have so many customers.

“Super helpful and friendly staff; this software solves so many problems for us!”

OverallOnline bookings 24/7 is huge for us. Fewer phone calls and a greater ability to focus on providing the product rather than selling.
ProsIt has tremendous functionality. It can be used with very simple business models, as well as very complex ones. I use it for three different companies. One is very basic, bare-bones. The other two are extremely complex, so I have been digging into the myriad of features and functionality over the past three months as we launched it for the two more complex companies. There is a lot to learn for the more complicated businesses (as expected), but once I figured it all out, it all makes sense and I am able to really maximize the functionality. The staff is very responsive and always there to help with questions, problems, and even assigning tasks to them. In addition to providing booking software, they also designed new websites for me for free, which increased the company's visibility online, so our sales have increased. The also have a free online call center (I haven't made use of this yet). They are constantly rolling out new and better upgrades. I am extremely happy with this product and with the staff behind it.
ConsFareHarbor charges the customer 6% of the gross for online bookings (the customer isn't charged this 6% if they call in and book directly over the phone). I'd like to have the option to absorb that 6% on our end so the customer doesn't pay it. The closest we can get is to offer a 6% online booking discount, but I would prefer the option of allowing us to absorb a portion or all of that 6% on the back end instead. That being said, until I started typing this review, I've never thought of asking them if they would be willing to implement an option like this! I'll be asking tomorrow. Knowing they are constantly improving the product and they do take customer suggestions seriously, I wouldn't be surprised if they consider doing this in the future.

“WOW, I am SO happy with this system”

OverallWe chose FareHarbor after having issues with our past "#1 Online Booking System," including it's failure to list a calendar when our site was viewed on mobile. I wouldn't have left if not for the stream of failures of the other software, which was pretty nice when it worked... now I'm happy it happened because FareHarbor is amazing. We are an escape room business with 3 themes, 4 rooms, 5 menu selections. It took a few days to get everything dialed in with FareHarbor, now the system saves me so much time and effort. The flexibility is amazing. I was a little worried because, although you can do everything yourself, it seemed you are encouraged not to. I worried this was going to be an issue, but their customer support is top notch. If I want schedules, promotional campaigns, ANYTHING changed, they get it done, and probably faster and smoother than trying to do it myself. Yet I still have the flexibility to easily change and add bookings, dates, prices, availability to individual activities on the schedule on the fly. Two of our rooms can be booked together or separately. We used to put them on schedule separately (book individual rooms this time of day, book pair of rooms for bigger groups that time of day) since if one of the rooms was booked, the two room option was no longer available. With FH both options are on schedule and customer demand drives the calendar selection... if one is chosen, the two room option automatically stops displaying, and the other room can still be booked individually (and visa versa). I saw someone mention the "cost" of the system. We weighed this against other systems and find the cost differences to be pretty much a wash. Their credit card rate is great, especially compared to the cost of going with one of a few other popular escape room booking systems, I would have had to pay for a gateway, route with a merchant's account, pay a variable and mostly higher rate for credit cards... this is all in one and so easy... and a few less things I need to keep track of. Yes, there is a convenience fee for online booking, we absorb this fee into our prices. And really, it's a booking you may not have had were it not for the booking system. They have many features I'm sure (or would hope) other systems have such as auto booking cutoff times, auto email confirmations and reminders, etc. Actual 24 hr cust svc, not "you can contact them 24 hrs a day, leave a message, but not hear back until the next business day."
ProsFlexibility, ability to change items on the fly and really give the best customer service I can because I can be flexible. I integrate it with my personal calendar so I get the bookings synced right to my phone. The ability to be flexible. Did I mention how flexible it is?
ConsThere are a couple items that are tricky to set up, but why would you when you can just email or call and have them do it. I'm learning to delegate to them, and it's freeing up even more of my time... ok that part's not a con, but the tricky to set up thing is.
Recommendations to other buyersGive it a try, it doesn't cost anything to try out. They are amazing to work with, you just keep telling them what you want or want changed, and they work it out. Let them do all the scheduling and everything that's not day to day running your business, and they set it up to save you time. I also know that some people absolutely are not good with any kind of computer stuff, so most booking software might be difficult which means this would be especially difficult. I'm not a techy, but I am good on a computer, so keep your skillset in mind.

“Life Changing!”

OverallMy husband and I co-own our tour and have been open for about 10 years. We currently have about 5-7 additional guides, depending on the season. As our tour grew, as well as our number of employees, it was impossible to stay on top of everything that needed to be done. Thanks to FareHarbor, we have been able to free up time, and begin to grow our tour again! Outside of our outstanding guides, nothing has helped us to grow and manage our tour as much as Fareharbor!
ProsEasy to edit tours. Updating tour times and dates is simple. Guide assignment, helps us and the tour guides keep track of their schedule. Tour guides can check people in, and we can see it in live time. Cost is low and very much worth the money. Clean web integration, and it blends nicely within our website. Customer information is easily available and easy to change, rebook, refund, etc. Very easy to track past reservations and customer info. Top notch customer service; they have actually taken the time to create items specifically for our company.
ConsOn the cons, there are only a few items that honestly are tailored more to just my specific needs. I wish there were more restrictions for tour guides. I would like to prevent them from changing certain settings, especially the ability to change and see other tour guide info. My other request is for a wider range of reporting. I would specifically like to be able to see the monthly breakdown by: the tour guides who led the tour, as well as the number people on the tour, and the method of payment broken down by cash/cc. In other words, we need to see how much money the tour guide collected for one month and how many people attended their tours. A small amount of tech experience is helpful but not required.
Recommendations to other buyersOverall, I really do believe that this software has changed our lives. I cannot understand how we ever survived and ran a successful tour before it. The amount of time it has saved, has allowed us to expand our tours and continue to do what we love!

“Excellent Software and Customer Service”

OverallWe have been a tour business providing tours since 2009 and have tried many reservation systems. Fare Harbor was the first reservation system we used that works the way we do. We have had frustrations with other systems that seem to not understand how a tour business operates or didn't give us the flexibility we needed. From the very start, Fareharbor was great to work with in getting everything setup properly, even helping us transition during the middle of a busy season. Their integration with Viator allows us to sell out many tour dates which has really helped sales.
ProsI'll bullet point my favorite features. Designed the way we work from the bottom up. Allows us to assign tour guides with ease and notify them about these assignments and send out reminders. Having tour buses, I really like being able to create a route and assign a pickup time to hotels. This information is listed on the confirmation so we no longer have to call each customer to give them a pickup time like our our old system. Booking is quick and easy from the back end I like the ability to see upcoming bank deposits with ease. Deposits have always been made on time, helping us gauge cash flow. I like being able to add internal memos and notes to each customer for special requirements on tour. Review reminders being sent out a few days after our tours have helped increase our ranking on Tripadvisor. Low merchant fees for taking credit cards
ConsI would like the ability to see a net price for Viator reservations, not the retail price in our reports. I would like the ability to reduce the ticketing fee that is charged to our customer, by either splitting it or even having us absorb it, and being able to test sales this way. Customers often go to Viator after hitting our reservation system to make their final bookings.
Recommendations to other buyersOverall super happy with the software and support and the fact that they understand our business and have built a system with that experience.

“At the end of the day, Fare Harbor does everything we absolutely need and works seamlessly.”

OverallStill getting benefits. Can't say enough about super responsive customer service. If you need something and they can do it, they will do it.
Prosconvenience. negligible downtime. once it's set up, super easy to use. Extremely responsive customer service whether you call or email and some of the fastest email customer service I have ever seen. They know their product - no matter who you work with. Don't see what you need? just ask them. They've done a lot of "custom" (for lack of a better word) work so we can better accommodate our needs. Any company using reservations can afford this platform. Continuously one of the highest rated among reservation platforms. Reporting system. User permissions. You name it, Fare Harbor can do it.
ConsThere are only two things I can say I like the least - 1) FareHarbor would save a million man hours if they would offer the fareharbor credit card slider that connects to your phone, like Square. Having to manually enter all the credit card info when on-site for walkups or partial payments can slow me down considerably. and 2) More robust crew scheduling abilities. For example, I'd like my guests to be able to request specific tour guides - so ability to assign crew to specific customers would be very helpful for me. I don't dislike the new reports, but I definitely like the old Legacy reports better. I don't use many reports in fareharbor but the ones I do, I prefer the older Legacy. The new reports are not showing any private or locked tours in reports.

“Great reservations system from the first season”

OverallImplementing Fareharbor as a new program went really well, thanks entirely to the exceptional customer service support (shout-out to Raleigh and Mikaela). They were always available by phone and email and training went very smoothly. I was thoroughly impressed that Mikaela was involved and aware of events occurring within our department, and sent her condolences and her support. Because of this, Fareharbor feels more like a partnership than a "client" type relationship. The actual program is very user-friendly which was a significant selling point for me. It is also easily implemented across other departments at our resort. Overall, I have been very satisfied with the functionality and overall performance of Fareharbor.
ProsIt is very user friendly for front-end staff Mobile version is great Customer service is EXCEPTIONAL and they have a thorough knowledge of the program. Permissions are easily customized across users. This was a huge bonus, and has been very helpful so we can limit access to those who do not need it. Affiliate set-up is easy, and has a very fluid application. I have been very pleased with how we are able to implement partnerships with this program. They are consistently working to update the program.
ConsDiscounts are not easily implemented. We consistently have to find "work arounds" The automated emails do not allow for customization. Different departments use the automated confirmation email, but the resort address and contact information HAS to remain the same across departments. It makes it difficult for guests to contact us. Smartwaiver is minimally integrated. Our last reservation system automatically imported name, height, and weight from the waivers. This was a huge perk, and did not come with Fareharbor. We were promised that programming would work on it, but we have not seen results. There were not P2P Card readers for the desktop version of Fareharbor. Because of this, we had to purchase 3 iPads and use the mobile app in order to be PCI compliant for customer credit card security. Invoicing has to be done manually. It cannot be scheduled to happen automatically each month.
Recommendations to other buyersI am very satisfied with this program. For all the cons, the customer service representatives more than compensate. They have an extensive knowledge of the program, and take ownership of my questions and concerns. They are the true rockstars of this reservation system.

“FAREHABOR IS HEAD AND SHOULDERS ABOVE THE COMPETITION ”

OverallWe vetted about six of the top online tour booking companies for our walking tour business in Manhattan and FareHarbor stood out far and above the rest. We immediately signed on after the conference call and looked no further. We were so impressed with FareHarbor's customer management system which met all the criteria we were looking for including the flexibility of being able to use the system for cash on the spot sales, all the bells and whistles related to communicating with our customers with customizable booking confirmation and reminder e-mails, alert e-mails for weather, customer database, less clicks till purchase, fast and easy, good calendar layouts, etc. Cost was extremely important to us and FareHarbor had the lowest processing rate out there. It was an intuitive decision that we would be happy working with FareHarbor but we have been really blown away by what a uniquely smart company FareHarbor is. Since we spoke to many of their competitors we could easily see the difference in how FareHarbor operates. We come from a Fortune 100 company background and FareHarbor embraces the same attributes of continuous improvement, flawless execution and outstanding customer service that are hallmarks of a great company. “Great Booking Software!”

OverallFareHarbor was wonderful! We are an Escape Room in Pennsylvania. We began our business using Bookeo, as that is what almost every escape room in the area and ones we'd been to used. FareHarbor contacted us, gave us a demonstration, and we fell in love. They completely set everything up for us so we didn't lose any bookings in the process since our service was never down. They then incorporated into our website for us. It was great and their customer service has always been great even now!
ProsThey truly have some of the best customer service around. They are available 24/7 to call or email and return your calls or emails within the same day. Sometimes they will even set it up for you which is wonderful when I'm in the middle of working a busy day. Then I can always give them a call to ask how it works or how I can adjust it that way I can learn when I get a break. Both the customer view and the behind the scenes view is extremely clear and easy to work with. Rarely do we have customers confused on how to book/reserve something, unless they truly don't know how to use a computer to begin with.
ConsI wish they would incorporate something that would allow customers to immediately book another room/service/tour/etc. Maybe even just a link. It would be really awesome if you could add another thing to your "cart" per say and pay all at once instead of making multiple bookings. Another thing that would be nice is almost an employee area like a scheduler system. This way employees could request time off and see large sections of times that they are working. Currently, you can assign them to a reservation but it would nice to have them be able to look and see they work 11am-4pm rather than see they are assigned to a 11:30am, 12:00pm, and so on appointments.
Recommendations to other buyersJust be aware of the costs involved and how your customers will be charged 6% of their booking total. This goes directly to FareHarbor. Since we are in Pennsylvania, there is no tax on services and our sales tax is 6%. Therefore, it simply looks like tax to customers.

“Helped Our Paddlesport Company So Much!”

OverallWe looked EVERYWHERE for booking software that was the right fit for our paddlesport company. This product is designed for adventure outfitters, so it works. How do you book a tour, ask people their height weight etc, require they can swim, remind them of their appointment, take payment immediately, quickly adjust tour/lesson calendar for staffing, weather changes, large events, etc? These were the issues that we were facing as a company, and FareHarbor was the answer. Customer Service: Incredible! So awesome to actually deal with real people who respond quickly to questions via phone call and email. Always friendly and helpful! They took HOURS of their time to help us set up our site so everything was just right. Plus, they do all the integrations into your website for you (hooray!). Once it's all set up and integrated into your site, it's easy to use the program to make changes and manage bookings. And they are all really nice, down to earth folks. Product: Love it. It takes a little while to figure it out, but FareHarbor provides free training (really, it's free), and ongoing support. We've seen a significant increase in sales with the calendar booking option. Plus, the software is easily configured to ask customers important questions that help us set up their kayak and paddleboard tours and lessons. If we have bad weather coming, staffing problems, or other events planned, we can quickly take down availability. On the other hand, we can quickly add availability, too. Any changes that need to be made, we can easily do it ourselves. We don't have to relay the info to a web person and wait for them to do it. Pretty sweet! Booking used to require A LOT of our own time, making phone calls and emailing. Now, we have much more time to actually get away from the phone and computer to do what we love! You can personalize contact settings, so customers still get quality customer service and all their needs are met. You can customize greetings to add your own brand "flair." Value: Excellent! No fees, only % of amount booked directly through FareHarbor service, and the rate is better than Square, which is what we were using to send invoices to book tours and lessons (hello, time consuming!!). Win-Win-Win. So happy with it, we've referred it to our friends who have surf schools on the Central Coast. Thanks FareHarbor :) ~Vince and Emily Shay Avila Beach Paddlesports

“Intuitive, state-of-the-art, easy to use , & MOST of all outstanding customer service”

OverallWe implemented FH 1 year ago. Since then, we've seen a significant increase in online bookings, we're enjoying affiliate partner bookings at all hours of the day without any effort on our part, and we've also experienced improved processes internally because of all the features that FH has to offer from daily manifests, reporting and trackability.
ProsWe like most that we have control over our fleet inventories, what our online customers can see versus our staff, ease of use and the unmatched top-notch customer service and support. The customer support team is extremely responsive and helpful!
ConsAfter using more than a handful of commonly used software in the state as an affiliate partner with relationships with many activity providers we've realized that there is not a software that has everything that the end user may envision (this is not a negative). FH is by far way ahead of the game. There may be minor features that you're used to seeing with your current software that may not exist. The good news is that if you send in a wish list email to the support team it will not be ignored. They will do all that they can to implement your ideas into the software. They have a team of programmers working tirelessly on improvements every day that customers bring to the table. I've seen many of our wish list items come through to fruition. I love this because our ideas matter. We have worked with software in the past that would just say, "sorry - it doesn't do that."

“Just finished our first busy season with FareHarbor”

OverallWe just finished our first busy season with FareHarbor. We use it for Kayak Tour and Kayak Rental reservations. We use The Booking Ninja for our phone support, and they are experts on FareHarbor (they recommended it to us). Between the two companies, we now are freed from answering phones, and can focus on making our tours the best they can possibly be. There are cheaper solutions out there, but they lacked some of the rich features that we needed. Here are my comments: ' Very powerful tool ' the only one that we found that could handle our need to seamlessly share kayaks between tours and rentals. This let us move our kayak rental reservations to the web, saving us a lot of work on our end. ' Not as intuitive as some other options. Some of the more powerful features work, but are not easy to understand from my end. Fortunately, we use 'The Booking Ninja' for our phone reservations, and they are experts on FareHarbor, and handle most day to day modifications for us. The FareHarbor staff did the original setup and handles any modifications that are beyond the Booking Ninja's capabilities, so the complexity is not as big a problem as we feared. ' Tool is steadily improving with new capabilities. These improvements have let us handle more complex scenarios without having to jump through hoops. ' Support has been very responsive. We work through our representative for most things, but can also simply call or email the support team.
ProsVery powerful features. This lets us handle our most complex needs. This is why we moved to FareHarbor.
ConsSome of the powerful features are hidden from the casual user, so it is not always intuitive when a change is needed. Fortunately, we can just let The Booking Ninja or FareHarbor support know what we need, and they will do the necessary changes.
Recommendations to other buyersDon't be afraid to tell FareHarebor what you need to be able to do. They generally can find a solution in a timely manner.

“Best Reservation Software + Awesome Customer Support Team!”

OverallThere is tremendous support from the FareHarbor team to ensure that things are operating properly and moving forward. They value a tour business no matter how small or large. There are team members who have specific expertise in the online digital world(ex. SEO specialist, partnerships). The Support Team members are friendly, knowledgeable and always willing to help resolve an issue before ending the call. Customer Support is open 24/7 /365!!! My website was created and is hosted by FareHarbor- all at no charge. What an amazing perk! I love having control over editing my website. It's a HUGE plus to not pay a developer to do the edits. FareHarbor rocks the booking reservation software world!
ProsFareHarbor is the #1 booking software in the tourism industry! It is the absolute BEST company for tour operators to partner with for reservation software. They are on the cutting edge of reservation technology and have experienced astonishing growth since launching in 2013. I've been onboard with Fare Harbor for almost two years now. My sales have increased ever since I joined. My Account Manager is so supportive of me and my business and gives me strategic advice based on a Google Analytics report.
ConsOne task in particular could have fewer steps: changing the date of a tour.

“I can's say enough about Fare Harbor”

OverallPeople had to call to book before and I think I lost a lot of clients because of this. Now they can just browse and buy
ProsThere are so many things to like about this software. 1. No out of pocket expenses. Taking a booking fee gives FH an incentive to help you make more money. At first I was leery about charging the booking fee to my clients, but no one have complained about it (or frankly even noticed). 2. Ease of use (and when it's not, customer service will do it for you)! 3. Works on phone, not an app, but with a mobile browser which work great. Not sure I need an app, most of my work is on a laptop anyway. 4. Customer service is always on and ready to help and quick to get done what you need. 5. Putting it online was seamless and pretty easy. I got out of the box with the basics and was able to add on as I went! 6. Feedback from my clients about the simplicity of the check out process. Like I said, so many great things! So happy with my decision.
ConsNothing so far! I may find some as I grow, but at this time none!

“More than just software”

OverallThe folks at FareHarbor have created a culture that is dedicated to taking care of their customers. And they understand that to do that well, I need to be able to take good care of my customers too. From onboarding, to management transitions, to routine support, the team at FareHarbor has truly been a pleasure to work with.
ProsFareHarbor provides our business with a solid platform from which to sell our tickets, with particular emphasis on online conversion. The ability to manipulate booking flow for various seasons, events, and accommodations is key, along with the ability to shape consumer expectations through confirmation and reminder emails or text messages. Adjusting bookings is simple and intuitive. On top of all that, FareHarbor's SUPPORT is top notch.
ConsBecause of the depth and breadth of our product offerings, FareHarbor can at times be a cumbersome dashboard to work with at the Point of Sale level. But I wouldn't trade the flexibility that we have to negotiate bookings and assist customers for something simply less-cumbersome.

“FareHarbor-A+”

OverallOverall, very happy with FH and as mentioned previously, the support team is extremely responsive. Also very helpful and very friendly to work with. Never condescending or over technical in their responses.
ProsI like the ease of use and quickness of FH reservation making, the integration with other activity providers' systems, which reduces the workload of our staff of taking reservations, and also the streamlined invoicing. The super quick and friendly support responses are much appreciated. I love the ability to be able to provide special pricing through personal links for groups, and that it notes these reservations on the manifest for easy identification.
ConsThe reporting features are fairly cumbersome with all info coming in, and having to drill out what you don't need, instead of the opposite of entering the parameters of only what you want. Reporting does not offer time period comparison features either, such as YOY or YTD reporting. Of course this can be accomplished by running them separately, though..

“FareHarbor is a life-saver! ”

ProsFareHarbor is the single best software purchase I have made for my business. It has streamlined my whole booking procedure. I was using an antiquated system - trading countless emails with guests and chasing leads non-stop. FareHarbor is so much more efficient and saves me countless hours. Moreover, FareHarbor's software can be tailor suited to your individual business needs. FareHarbor has allowed me to capture all necessary customer information and forms upfront! In addition, as a web-based application, I can access my booking calendar from anywhere in the world that has internet connection - so I am always connected no matter where I go. However, the best part about FareHarbor is the customer support and help! There 24/7 phone support is amazing - and it's real people, not automated. When I transitioned to this new software, I relied heavily on the helpline support - they are fabulous! “Should have never left!”

OverallFareHarbor customer service is excellent to work with. I found them after a bad experience with another company several years ago. I foolishly decided to try another company this year and was back to Fareharbor within a week.
ProsEase of use. It has taken away 95% of the need for me to have customer interaction before, during or after making a booking. This frees up my time to give proper attention to the clients I am working with at the time. There are still a few potential clients that need a question or two answered before booking and even one or two who will need their hands held through the whole process. But overall, it has mad my life much simpler.
ConsCustomer receipt shows partial deposit as a negative number causing confusion and awkward interaction with customer at time of check out!

“Almost through season 1 with FareHarbor. Wonderful to receive reservations during off hours.”

OverallOnline bookings available 24/7 with no worry of overbooking.
ProsPros: It is great to be live online and allow guests to reserve at their convenience with no chance of overbooking. It is wonderful to be able to see what is happening to reservations while at home or on the go. Customer service is always very friendly and helpful. All of our staff has liked the ease of booking and check-in. We were very happy when they unrolled the shopping cart feature. We were with our old reservation system for many years, but have found it pretty easy to adapt. Report section has a lot helpful information.
ConsThere is a learning curve to creating and changing items. I have found it easier to call customer support for some of the big changes. Discount application could be better. We have some fees that can't be discounted so have to manually add the discount to every person instead of once for the group. Time consuming when making a large reservation. We have also found that loading large reservations is slow. While you can schedule staff, there is no clock-in/clock-out feature which would be great for hourly employees. We would also love for guests to be able to see and adjust their reservations and for FareHarbor to build an online store that integrates into the system. Needs better integration with SmartWaiver.

“We have been very please with FareHarbor. The customer support department is extremely helpful. ”

ProsWe like having the freedom to customize our dashboard for our unique needs. It is easy to make, track, change, or correct bookings without risk of losing data. Our agents are admittedly not computer savvy, yet they all enjoy using FareHarbor, and it was easy to train them. Most of all, we really appreciate the immediate support we get from the customer service department when faced with challenges. Everyone involved has been helpful, but in articular, Matt stands out because of his willingness to understand our product, and explain the intricacies of the software functionality.
ConsIt's difficult to be critical since we are getting everything we need from FareHarbor. I think this is already in the works, but if we could have a way to transfer customer payment information over to our other product dashboard that would be great.

“Life saver!”

OverallFH saves our office staff roughly 6 hours of work per day! Our customers now signup online more than over the phone. We have seen an increase in signups since using FH. Pulling reports for accounting, months end and year end is much easier. FH has reduced our phone conversation time with each customer drastically. On average, we used to spend 7 minutes on the phone per customer. On average we now spend 2 minutes. Booking private charters is now just a click of a button away. It used to take us 30 minutes to create a private charter on our old reservation system.

“Changed Our Life!!”

OverallMy wife and i run a small tour company in New York City and for the first 5 years of being in business we did everything manually. By this i mean we answered every tour request by email. A part of me justified this by feeling that we were a hands on company that wanted our customers to feel that they were actually dealing with a human being on the other end and not some automated system that felt impersonal. I can't tell you the amount of hours we spent answering every email. Our life was consumed by doing this and my wife and i barely had time for each other or a vacation. I had received hundreds of solicitations from software companies trying to sell us there software. They all wanted a commission off the top of our sales which we could not afford. Fareharbor was the first company that didn't take a commission from our sales but rather added on a small convenience fee on top of the cost of our tours that came out of the customers expense. It was reasonable and in now way felt like they were gouging our customers. Fareharbor also had the cheapest credit card rates i had ever come across and only charged us if they processed a card meaning if a customer decided to pay in cash there was no charge to us even though they were still required to leave a credit card for booking. Fareharbor worked with us very closely to customize our booking system for all of our needs and never rushed us. They took the time to make sure we were happy and well trained at using their system. There was a small learning curve but they were always available for any questions and got back to us quickly with any issues. Usually i never would even have given them the time of day when they called because i was so sick of solicitations but their sales rep and his pitch was so laid back and not aggressive like so many others. I believe it took us almost 6 months to make the decision to actually work with them and never did they waiver in their patience and politeness. They never over called and let me come to them. Essentially they let their product sell itself because it's the best i've seen out there to this day. As well as having a great product which had made my life so less stressful these guys are the nicest bunch of guys to work with. Thank you Anders and the whole family at Fareharbor for helping us to breath a bit easier everyday and for also allowing vacations back into our lives that we now can take again knowing that your service is at the helm of our company.

ProsIt has allowed us to sell our tickets online, and it has allowed us to keep track of our customers in a much more organized way than we were. I think our favorite functionality about this software would have to be the whole booking system. We love being able to use it for our reservations.
ConsIt is extremely difficult to manage. When we have a tour that changes dates, times, locations, etc, digging through the pages to find what I need is taxing and a waste of my valuable time. I wish the system was over-simplified, It would help me run my business faster and more efficiently. For example, the entire "Items" edit feature. It needs a new system for me to be able to easily change my event settings, without having to go through twenty pages before I find the settings I need. After taking training on how to use the system, I still can't quite understand how to give my customers percentages off, or discount codes. Our Christmas sale took me 2 days to figure out how to set it up on the system.

“Lots of customizable features and incredible customer service!”

ProsThe customer service is incredible! If there is an issue, big or small, I can email and it will be taken care of right away! There's never any problem with the customer service team handling what I ask of them - they always seem to know exactly what I'm talking about. I actually work on 2 different FH accounts and there never seems to be any mix-ups or confusion from FH about what is happening to which account. They are the best - I wish ever customer service or troubleshooting team was like this!
ConsSometimes it can be tricky to figure out where certain information lives within an item. I prefer to be as self-sufficient as possible and sometimes it takes me quite awhile to find where I need to go. A lot of info blocks have very similar names, but live in different places, so that can be confusing.

“Great and Easy to Use”

OverallI started my dog tour business 4 years ago out of my home with a team of dogs and a couple of sleds. Now, the business has grown and I have over thirty dogs and four sleds, plus I have other mushers who run tours for me. As the business grew, it became more difficult for me to book all of the new tours. That's when I found FareHarbor! Their software is comprehensive and easy to use. Since using their software, it has become much easier to not only book tours online, but to keep in contact with my customers, to charge my customers, and to refund them as well! Another thing to note about FareHarbor is their excellent customer service. I am not the most tech savvy person in the world, but whenever I had a question about the software Mitch, who was my FareHarbor guide and guru, was there. Not only did he help me customize the software so it would benefit my business initially, but I am still in contact with him today to help me with new changes I need to make to the software. Overall, I love FareHarbor. I love how easy it is to use the software itself and you can't beat the amount of dedication and initiative that the staff will provide you. I would definitely recommend this software to other small business owners.
ProsIt is very easy to use and intuitive.
ConsThe only problem that we are having with the software is the fact that slots will not automatically close off if other bookings are full. For example, we offer three sorts of tours. One for a half hour, a second for an hour, and a third for two hours. If we fill up the two hour tours, then we can not run tours for the hour and half hour slots, but they remain open. What we have been doing is manually closing slots that we don't have the personnel to run.

“5 Stars to Fare Harbor!”

OverallWow what a positive difference Fare Harbor has made to our small tour company. We started our company about a year and a half ago, and were lucky enough to grow quite rapidly. We began life with a WordPress booking software add-on to our website, which was cumbersome and not as user friendly as we hoped. Errors were common and input was slow, so we looked for a solution with a lot more horsepower. When we found Fare Harbor, we hoped it would be the ticket. After we switched boy we knew we were right. Immediately we saw the difference and benefits when you switch to a serious solution like FH. We were right away more organized both internally and to our customers. Ease of use was awesome, the transition was smooth, and FH was great to work with, making our partnership one we are very glad we formed. And the best part of all - sales increased pretty much right away! Guests must have like the addition to our program because we saw bookings go up and up. After about a year now with FH we could not be happier. We get called pretty regularly by other software companies trying to switch us over to their booking software, and we don't even listen. We've seen great results with these guys, and are happy to sing their praises!

“Paint and Sip Booking Use Case”

OverallWe operate multiple paint and sip locations in a metropolitan area. We needed a booking system that allowed us to both allow registrations for our freestyle sessions -- akin to booking reservations at a restaurant as well as ticketed classes and special events. Typically, booking systems only work for one or the other. Working with Fareharbor, we were able to find a solution that allowed us to do both. Strengths are customer service. They are always there when you need them. Very responsive. Also, the overall expense of using the system as well as credit card purchasing rates are the best we've found. They batch process all their clients through Stripe which gives them a better bulk rate. It's easy to manage bookings from the back-end, including rebooking and refunds. Reporting is robust, but a little cumbersome -- we aren't able to run reports easily per item, so, we can't run inventory on online pre-sales. We are able to manage multiple locations as well all from the same account. We absolutely love how easy it is to create recurring events -- what was taking us days to do manually on other ticketing sites literally takes a few minutes with FH. We use ipads. The check-in app is very slow. This led to lines and slow check-ins (and a few bad reviews) on busy weekend nights. The booking calendar works well but has several limitations. The calendar view doesn't allow images, so the calendar is text heavy. With multiple locations, each location has to be its own calendar, so instead of one main calendar where customers can filter by location, customers have to choose a location first and then go to that calendar. We'd prefer everything dumping into one calendar with the ability to filter that calendar by location or activity type. In order for us to customize the booking calendar to make it a more user friendly interface, we would need to invest up to $5K to $10K. Although, we have customers pre-pay, we still need a POS in our studios. That means we have to pull reports and inventory from two systems. We have used, tried and experimented with multiple ticketing solutions and FH is the best we've found so far. Their team is definitely one of their strongest selling points. They do a lot of the heavy lifting, which is amazing and very helpful. It would be the perfect system if it integrated into a POS, had a better check-in app and improved the UX of its booking calendar. We're hoping those will come along soon!

“Awesome Online Registration Software”

OverallThe Fresno RiverSport Center needed online registration software that could accommodate the wide variety of programs and events that we offer as a non-profit organization. Over the past 4 years, we tried 3 different services only to find that they were not adaptable to our needs When we decided to give FareHarbor a try I was amazed by the level of support I received. They assigned me a customer service representative and took considerable time to understand our organization and its programs. Using this information, they assisted me in the creation of our online registration page that incorporated all of our events and their unique requirements. FareHarbor met our requirements and exceeded all our expectations! FareHarbor has made the registration process simple for our customers and provides all of the information we need to provide them with a great event. Since we have been using FareHarbor I have not received one complaint about our event registration process! From a management perspective, it has made my job a whole lot easier. All event information is readily accessible for customers reducing calls for information. Canned messages are sent to customers upon registration, 24 hours prior to the event, and upon the completion of the event. As a result, our registration attendance ratio is close to 100% and we are able collect customer reviews for all events. The integration with SmartWaiver has allowed us to transition from paper waivers and obtain signed online liability waivers that are safely stored, easily accessible, and noted on the event manifest. FareHarbor has also allowed us to assign staff to events based on event registration and automatically send event notices and reminders to them. This has given me a whole lot of extra time that allows me to get out of the office, away from the computer, and do what I love, paddle my kayak with our customers! I wholeheartedly recommend FareHarbor for organizations and businesses needing awesome online registration software.

ProsEverything . As the marketing / media coordinator for a tour / activity based resort, it's important to have a reliable software system that is easily navigable for both users AND consumers. Our company made the switch over to Fareharbor 3 months ago and since then have seen a huge increase in both online bookings & workplace efficiency. From the user's point of view, every tour and activity calendar is easily accessible through a simple yet responsive & comprehensive dashboard. Creating over the phone bookings couldn't be easier - computer literacy among-st employees is no longer an issue & time spent on fixing user - errors is non existent. “Best Decision Ever!”

OverallIt has increased our quality and quantity of performance. It has also increased our likelihood of online sales.
ProsThe flexibility of the system is so incredible that you are able to "slice your cake" 100 ways. It can be overwhelming but liberating at the same time. You don't have to change your processes to fit in a pre-designed box (for the most part). Another plus is the FareHarbor team's work ethic... it is something to be proud of partnering with. Finally, and by far the most impactful and important accolade is their commitment to making it easy on your customers. What is better than making it easy for people to buy what you are selling? They have an entire department that is dedicated to this goal. Overall, the best systems conversion we've made ever.
ConsWith flexibility comes complexity. It is a very complex system to learn, which can be a little paralyzing if you like to have total control. However, their support staff is 100% willing to do make the changes you need if you are ok with giving the controls over to them.

“Hot air balloon tour company and FareHarbor”

OverallWe started our hot air balloon ride company in May of 2014. We tried 2 other booking companies before choosing FareHarbor. First, they assigned us a transition person who set up our account and services. Made sure the prepayments from our other software was accounted and credited to the correct ride/passengers. Secondly they helped in integrating FareHarbor booking into our website. Third, I have called support a few times and have always received timely solutions and answers. FareHarbor continues to update their software and add additional features. Recently we added affiliate (3rd party) services and gift certificates. 4 stars for ease of use. (needs improvement) Finding the area to change, update or add is not always intuitive BUT 5 Stars customer support has always been there to help!

“Great value and works well for a small tour company”

OverallOur experience with Fare Harbor has been outstanding. The absolute best thing about working with this company is the customer service. They respond quickly and are always patient with my questions and concerns.
ProsThe system is very dependable. I have never had anyone not be able to book online because of the site being down, I think there are lots of features for the price.
ConsI could use more reports. I would like to be able to compare years and months to one another. Year to date sales on a chart would be nice. Sometime adding tours can be a little tricky. The only real problem, however for our business is the inability to take a credit card for sales other than bookings. We will be selling more retail items and not everyone is on our tours that will be buying. This may mean dual systems.
Recommendations to other buyersContact customer service if you don't understand how to do something. They are very patient and although they offer training, you never learn everything you need in one or two sessions.

“Dramatic Results and Outstanding Support”

OverallAdding the FareHarbor software to my tour/party/transportation boat business has resulted in a 5-fold increase in cruises booked. It has resulted in a significant decrease in labor costs for booking. Customer love it and it has had a significant positive impact to our bottom line. I have gone to other friends in the business and suggested that they talk with FareHarbor, but they are unwilling to change from taking reservations over the phone and using a pencil. The benefits to our business include: There is a growing segment of customers that would rather book using their smartphone or computer. They resist spending valuable vacation time on the phone. For customers that insist on a telephone conversation, the FareHarbor system allows me to delegate sales and booking to others without sharing a paper calendar. We get paid in full up front which reduces cancellations and no-shows. Hotels appreciate the ability to look at our availability online. No payments or paperwork on the boat. We just checkin on the tablet. The office can see the manifest and how many adults/children checked in so if there is an issue the Coast Guard will have an accurate count. Customers stay on our site under our control The system cost is extremely reasonable The system is very high quality. We have had no problems related to downtime or software bugs The system is easy to use, but we do need assistance from time to time. Their support is outstanding. We get either immediate or within the hour response. They are willing to make the setup changes and let me know when they're done or walk me through the steps so that I can do it myself next time. The only suggestion I would make is that I would like to see them add a way to waitlist passengers until the minimum count is reached in order to stay profitable. I will continue to recommend the FareHarbor system to my friends.

“Great reservations booking software for a major water sports adventure company in Key West”

OverallUser friendly, intuitive, easy to add or cancel trips. Excellent customer support makes quicker bookings and higher revenues.
ProsBest part is the customer service. Very easy to get in touch with and always professional and knowledgeable. Very easy to add headlines to bookings if a trip gets cancelled or modified to let all of our employees up to date. Our company also uses NAVIS HUB migration which can talk to Fareharbor making to easy to process credit card transactions and add booking notes to existing reservations.
ConsI don't very little cons about this software. Sometimes when you pull up a trip manifest it can be a little slow, but that is the only thing I can think of.

“By far the best software and company we've used.”

ProsFareHarbor is easy and simple to use on the back end and for our guests, yet has many functional options to allow us to do what we need to do without being restricted. And I absolutely LOVE FareHarbor's support system. We've used two reservations systems prior to you and NEVER had this kind of speedy help. Every single time we need help or have questions or issues, I'm able to get quick assistance and resolution by either phone OR email...regardless of the day or time. It takes so much stress off of us as a small business. Thank you guys!!!

“Unique product ”

OverallThis product is very unique, I've used various ticket managers throughout the travel/tour industry and I found this software to be very efficient, effective and professional.
ProsThis software keeps everything organized and precise. The software has a lot of safeguards and keeps your account up to date, all the customer orders are labeled and easy to read. Guests and hotel personnel can navigate through it quicker, this software is definitely user friendly. I also like the sync option with Trip Advisor, it helps our guests provide more reviews.
ConsThe calendar can be interchangeable but when you go into the tour tab, it will only show you one tour at at time. Also, when the tour links appear on social media, the link is not personalized, instead it gives you a Fareharbor company logo with the word free across it.
Recommendations to other buyersThe Fareharbor team is very professional, helpful and courteous.

“FareHarbor is the best booking service a company could ask for”

OverallWe switched to FareHarbor after Bookeo glitched and offered a series of additional times we didn't offer and double booked several customers. They were impossible to reach because they only do email correspondence and ended up blaming us for their failed service. FareHarbor rescued us from needing to close down our business. They've far surpassed our expectations and are ALWAYS there to answer questions and help us make modifications to our bookings. The customer service is outstanding. Someone is always there to answer the phone or any emails we send with questions. The staff is amazing and always willing to help. My partner and I are always so grateful for their continued support. The introduction process to the service is also phenomenal, they walk you through everything you could possibly need to know about using their booking service and pair you with a personal assistant as you ease into using the booking service. Not to single anyone out, but Michaela is absolutely outstanding. Furthermore, the layout of the booking site that our customers see fare surpasses other booking sites. It's sleek and easy for the customer to operate. The aesthetics also pair well with Squarespace if that happens to be the web hosting service your company uses. It's very modern and clean. We also love that the layout our customers see to select their booking is a calendar format as opposed to a list. We've found we've had fewer phone calls from our customers asking how to operate the online booking process when we made the switch to FareHarbor. A further perk of utilizing FareHarbor is their Reports tabs. It makes filing monthly sales tax returns a 10 minute process and makes input into QuickBooks a breeze! Needless to say we absolutely love FareHarbor and we would recommend it to anyone who has a business with booking in your plan. 10/10 for service, aesthetics, and ease of use.

“Outstanding, reactive, helpful team that make you feel you have a whole team on your payroll”

ProsThe support is absolutely outstanding, personnalized, attentive, quick, effective. You never feel left alone and any time of the day -or night- you find a helpful hand to help you solve your issues. And then, the whole plugin is quite easy to use, very versatile, and has all the features you may need to manage your bookings.
ConsUnfortunately the pricing of fh services is way, way higher in France than in the US. Which means a sizeable portion of my sales end up in fh + stripe fees (as stripe fees through the fh package seem to baloon too, compared to stripe standard fees in europe)

“FareHarbor is hands down one of the best business decisions I made”

OverallFareHarbor is an excellent service. The product is very easy to use and intuitive. Better than the product is the customer support. As a business owner I don't have the time or energy to learn an entire online platform. Their team built my product and trained me on how to make simple changes I want to make. Any challenges I haven't been able to do on my own their customer support staff has happily shown me how to achieve the outcome I wanted or just took care of it for me. They are quick to respond to inquiries and answer the phone when I call. There are other online platforms I can not say the same thing about. I absolutely love the experience I have had with FareHarbor.
ProsThe software is very intuitive and easy to use. Anything I want to do is usually right there and I don't waste a lot of time searching for the menu that has the option I want to change or add.
ConsHonestly I haven't found anything I can complain about with the software.
Recommendations to other buyersNot at this time. I will let you know if anything comes up.

“First BIG event with FareHarbor, and it was a timesaver!”

OverallJust finished Festival of Sail 2016 here in San Diego and FareHarbor just worked. Main areas that really shined were the event reports and manifests. We need "paper" manifests due to ship assignments, regulations and FairHarbor just made life so much easier during this busty hectic event. Was the smoothest event ever thanks to FairHarbor.
ProsOne page ticketing, the manifests & reports, being able to send remote buttons to other organizations and track sales that happen thru their website. With the button options, they can go directly to a calendar, or an event page, or directly to one day events ticket page bypassing the calendar all together. Makes for fewer clicks for the customer to buy. Also you can set-up an events pretty quickly and the calendar features for assigning times and dates are pretty robust.
ConsWish the customer view calendar had better distinction between months and I think the way events show on a particular day could be clearer. Some people (very few) have had confusion and bought tickets for the wrong day, but it's super easy to rebook someone to another day. Also wish passing on the credit cards fees was more straightforward, but the solution that was set-up for me works good enough but it's sort of a hack.
Recommendations to other buyersOf the 5 systems we have used for ticketing in the past 5~6 years, this has been by far the most solid. This has been the best way for us to go, especially since we rely and need printable manifests.

“Best Booking Software for Tour Companys”

OverallAloha, My business is Adventure Tours Hawaii and we are based on the island of Oahu. We perform activity tours where our guests select if they would like to hike, snorkel, stand up paddle board, sightsee, combine these activities, or enjoy all of them in one circle island adventure day. What I like about FareHarbor is how I am able to customize my booking system so that my customers can select their date, select which activities they would like through a series of check boxes, leave notes about their personal requests or other information, and make payment, all on one screen. This is just one example on how you can customize your booking system. There are many more options available to further customize that perhaps another business might require but I have not found it necessary to my needs. But I know the options are there in case I ever change my format. The report system is also easy and reliable. I use it for all my accounting. But most of all I love the customer service. 99% of the time they answer the phone within a few rings. If not I have left a short message which they have returned within 1-2 hours max. This I have found invaluable. Great job FareHarbor.

“One of the best decisions I've made in the 16 years since I launched my photo tour business!”

ProsIn my opinion, no other online reservation company can compete with FareHarbor's professionalism or software platform. FareHarbor values a tour business no matter how small or large it is. Team members have specific expertise in generating tour sales online: digital marketing, Google Analytics tracking, SEO analysis, website design and so much more. Furthermore, I have a great rapport with my awesome Account Manager who is always looking out for my best interests. She is responsive to my emails and scheduling a time discuss issues that take more time. Friendly and knowledgeable team members and advanced reservation technology are some of the many reasons why Fare Harbor's astonishing growth skyrocketed in just 5 years!
ConsTwo things that would be great with one-click instead of several steps: deleting a tour and changing a tour time.

“Game changer for our business, made the leap to fully paperless”

ProsOf course it manages our reservations and processes payments but it also incorporates the essentials of a client contact management system. This was an unexpected benefit of converting to Fareharbor. We use the system to make and document outgoing client contacts and record basic notes about specific needs of a customer. For a business like ours in which the majority of customers are one time transactions, the ability to create and document basic email and text messages is a real time saver and greatly increases our ability to interact with customers in a positive manner. In addition, the easy to use Public Banners are a way to convey pertinent information to potential customers BEFORE they call, saving valuable phone time for our associates. Seamless use of the platform on an iPad or even an IPhone free up weekends.
