But UIPath is actually very easy and intuitive to use. It has saved us a lot of time and money. Pros Data automation simplifies and optimizes work times. Gone are the times of people doing repetitive tasks. I recommend it Cons Honestly, I can't find any points against it. The platform works proficiently when automating web applications however, for desktop applications, it is very difficult to recognize UIElements or scrape data without using OCR. Pros The feature I like the most about this software is the automation of mundane workflows without having human interface, example data scraping from web page or files to extract information. The activities libraries are much more and cover many more things than those of competitors. In addition, the online community is very active. The product evolved a lot in recent years. Cons Sometimes the documentation lacks examples of the use of activities or the explanations of the properties of each activity is not very clear. The licensing system is very variable, and this does not help to understand it well. Pros This software has / will be saving our firm immense loads of time. We are using it to automate filling out tax returns before being given to an accountant to verify numbers, and we are looking to expand by using UI path in other departments of our accounting firm. Cons It can be a bit tricky to learn how to use UI path, especially if you have no programming experience, but this company does their best to help you understand with tutorial videos to get you started. Pros First of all you need not be a technical person or a developer. You can learn the tool with basic knowledge of computing and OOPS. It will not take more than a day or two to learn UiPath. On the other side, any kind of manual process can be automated using UiPath in a shorted time and minimum investment. The cost of the tool is low compared to other RPA tools. Good support. Cons It is not a platform independent tool, runs only on Windows. As an RPA person, I will recommend this tool for any RPA actives other than cognitive automation like unstructured data extraction using PDFs. Pros The community edition of this software is really helpful when compare with other community editions, and There community is stronger than other software. Cons UiPath is not into cognitive automation, they always try to partner with other software vendors for these scenarios. Also when it compare with process mining they are partnered with some other process mining tool and pluged the same into UiPath. That led to improvements to the bottom-line and allowed for clients to spend the resources in more value added digital initiatives and transformation. Pros \- The software allows for quick implementation of low-level tasks, saving hundreds of FTE hours. - Solution allows for appropriate error handling in a variety of scenarios. - Template building can help decrease cost of future implementations. - Some of the debugging mechanisms can be very helpful in decreasing time needed to fix issues. I achieved setting up the the right process flow in few hours with all possible error handling and was done with my scraping in 1 hour. That was way cool. Also found the broken links in the website ;) Next, I am on my way to create a process to automate an ERP based desktop tool into Accounting field. Pros Lets sum-up : Very little code or none. Not much technical background needed. Instant gratification/results in a day. ! Graphical representations of your process using basic flowcharts is enough to get your repetitive business task to get automated. Cons I am really quite not sure on this, but since you might need to have scenarios to manipulate data, where in you might need to lookup semantics for VB code if you are not familiar with it. Pros Easy to use, clear screenshots on error for debug, clean development tool and easy to learn as in just 1-2 weeks you could have your team entirely trained as I did with 15 people with no issue, the training material is amazing and clear as well as powerfull. It is very complex to set up at first. Also, it doesn't work well on secured websites. Copying files from Sharepoint and Shared drives and bringing them to our ETL pickup folder. 2. Changing the format of the files from xls and xlsx to csv to allow the ETL to read them 3. Capturing the status of jobs. In our case its available only on a portal so it requires checking in. 4. Checking whether certain outgoing files are getting there on time. 5. In pipeline is automation of regular performance testing our jobs. Pros 1\. Ability to combine manual tasks with recordings. 2. Ability to parametrize the flows once complete. 3. Ability to modify selectors directly 4. Creating flows is like programming, so it's very familiar. 5. Excited about the new enhancements in 2019 - SOAP, Go Marketplace. Cons Learning curve is a bit steep. I had to get through a lot of trainings on UiPath Academy to wok through my use cases. I am still working on the trainings and although once you 'learn' stuff it's easy but it's not one of those softwares where you can just be in and out with a full time job. This software can purely helps you out in many simple automated cases. Even I have done 1 project for my relative related to their accounts funds , I triggered the purchases on banking application etc Cons Their UI interaction is very good. Maintaining a workflow in this is a very good thing. What i least like about this once you hands on this software then you can do many things in a very quick way. Ui path is very easy to use and anyone can start designing workflows to automate by just drag and drop. I was able to debug the workflow and extract data from workflows when I was working with complex processes. Cons When we automate processes, we deal with data. We have been able to automate some of the tasks we do here in the company, We can replace the human workers doing labor-intensive repetitive task, and focus them on other more difficult ones. No need to spend money on training new people, hiring, etc. As we just built the bot and it will do it all on his own Cons The price is a little expensive, besides you needing to built the automation, you also have to pay for it.
