In order to handle our internal compliance training and onboarding without having to pay the hefty ongoing fees associated with enterprise SaaS platforms, we were searching for a self-hosted solution. Being open source gave us complete control over our infrastructure and data, which is a huge benefit for us. It takes some technical expertise to properly configure the environment during the initial setup, but once it is operational, it is quite stable. Although the user interface seems a little outdated in comparison to some more recent competitors, the plugin system is excellent for expanding functionalities. It delivers on its promise of strong training management free from vendor lock-in. Pros We have complete control over the data and infrastructure because it is open source, which is essential for GDPR compliance. The multi-client architecture, which enables us to manage various environments for various internal departments with a single installation, impressed me. Forma is used by thousands of users and one of the main reasons is that it's much easier to use than Moodle, for example.
