The implementation helped us transition from disconnected systems and manual spreadsheet-based processes to a fully integrated ERP platform designed for batch process manufacturing. As a result, we've improved production planning, purchasing, inventory management, quality control, traceability, and financial reporting. Beyond the software itself, the BatchMaster team worked closely with us to understand our operational requirements and implement custom reports, queries, and validation controls that added significant value to our business. Today, we have greater visibility into our operations, more reliable data for decision-making, and stronger system-enforced controls that support both efficiency and regulatory compliance. Like any ERP implementation, success required commitment from our internal team, but the improvements in productivity, accuracy, and operational control have made it a worthwhile investment. Pros What I appreciated most about BatchMaster ERP was that it brought our manufacturing, inventory, purchasing, quality control, and accounting processes together into a single integrated system specifically designed for batch manufacturing. The system replaced many manual, Excel-based processes with automated, system-enforced controls, improving forecasting accuracy, operational efficiency, traceability, and financial reporting. The planning and purchasing modules significantly reduced manual effort and improved the accuracy of our purchasing projections, while the Advanced QC Module strengthened our quality processes by preventing the use of non-approved materials in production. I also found the traceability dashboard to be exceptionally valuable, allowing us to quickly trace finished goods back to the raw materials, packaging components, customers, and sales orders. For a regulated manufacturing environment, that level of visibility provides tremendous confidence from both an operational and compliance perspective. Cons Like most ERP implementations, there was a learning curve during the initial rollout, and configuring the system to align with our business processes required a significant investment of time from both our internal team and the BatchMaster consultants. Because ERP systems are highly configurable, it was important to carefully define our workflows and requirements up front. That said, once the system was properly configured and our team became familiar with it, the long-term operational benefits far outweighed the initial implementation effort. I move faster than Batchmaster does and this can slow me down but it is not so bad that I would want to stop using it. The dashboards are usually helpful but often times I have a problem reconciling transactions. Pros It interfaces with our accounting software. Issuing support tickets is easy & most of the time are addressed promptly. Cons Ease of use/learning different features. And some features such as using warehouse location, row, aisle, bin & rack are not capable of using to setup a warehouse and assign specific areas to locate items. We had to pay additional $ for them to manipulate the program & hopefully it will work. The numbers in the system are unquestionable and reliable, we have a lot of faith in the system. and the support is often quick to address our problems. Pros All in One Software, SAP is rock Solid, reliable and well respected. BatchMaster running on SAP is can be customized to anything we require although out of the box it's good enough for us. Cons the SDS module built in Module is VERY cumbersome and need a COMPLETE over haul, it's slow it's tedious and often causes problems as the entire design of the module is archaic and needs vast improvement. It should not be using WORD.DOT and it should not accumulate in size when making more than one as the resources required can crash the computer. I know there are addon SDS modules but they can be expensive and also require a lot of time to set up. If this were streamlined I would have given the system a 5/5. It calculates all the ingredients properly and very seldom makes mistakes on batch quantity. Pros The pros about the software is that mistakes are caught early on in the process. If a mistake is made you are more than likely to find it during the initial process. Cons Learning the software is difficult and not user friendly. The layout of the modules are not as easy as I would like them to be. Understanding each module and it’s fuctions does take time. Their customer support team seems to be very knowledgeable and they are very quick to respond when you are having issues or need a quick tip. The best part is the user friendly interface, it doesn't take much practice before you start feeling like you really know your way around the system. Cons It's hard to say. I think it would be nice if there was the ability to interface with more than one financial database. We have company's in the US and Canada so we have to use different versions of financial software but we cannot interface both with the same instance of Batchmaster. Whether this is something Batchmaster can change or not I'm not sure, maybe we need to look at different finance software options.
