We even integrated Employee Navigator with Paylocity, which was super simple on both sides, and has served us well. Pros Employee Navigator is easy to use and I like how the homepage is laid out. It is especially helpful to see HR tasks listed right on the home screen, so it catches my attention when I log in. Cons We use Employee Navigator through American Health and Wellness, so I don't receive notifications directly; instead, they go to our benefits specialist at AHW. I think it would be useful for a large company, but for a smaller 75-100 employee company I would rather keep control of the benefit administration rather than going through Employee Navigator. Pros It is a good tool for open enrollment and to view employee benefits eligibility dates and enrollments. Cons At times, information does not flow over correctly or things are not setup to our company specifications. We rely on our third party benefits administrator to setup open enrollments and benefit costs in Employee Navigator. Pros Employee Navigator is a great system to track employee benefits. It connects directly to our payroll system and always has up-to-date, accurate information. It is easy for both the employees and the employer to use during open enrollment. All the benefits documents are easy to find and running enrollment reports are super easy. Pros Employee Navigator is a valuable resource for automation between multiple systems. It is a secure platform for benefit enrollments to be sent to insurance carriers, as well as employee payroll. Cons I honestly do not have anything negative to say. The integration team worked out all issues before production. We have had a very easy transition with the entire process. November 24, 2025 5.0 Our overall experience with Employee Navigator is excellent! It helps us keep track of our benefits - from Open Enrollment to changes in premiums. I can't imagine our lives without it! Pros There are so many wonderful things about Employee Navigator, I don't even know where to begin! It integrates seamlessly with our payroll software and keeps up with all of our employee benefit changes, even the smallest changes, such as a premium change due to a salary change. It allows us to roll out our new plans during Open Enrollment and helps us track compliance. It's also at a price point that makes it worth every penny! It tracks our benefit enrollment and deduction. It has been easy to use. Pros I enjoy that Employee Navigator can be integrated with payroll systems, allowing for seamless movement of payroll data. Cons There are limits on what you can do as a user. An example is reminders, when conducting open enrollment, I had to schedule the reminders to go out. We were not disappointed with our choice, nor were our clients. Pros This system is superior when it comes to general benefits administration. Employee Navigator can handle the most complex of builds since it is a very customizable platform. Businesses love how quickly we can get it setup and love integrations back to payroll. A seamless system for users and HR alike. Cons Although not their core feature, spending some more time on Onboarding (digital I9, and type in forms), as well as their Time and Attendance modules would be beneficial to invest in. It saves us money by not including a benefits module in our HRIS system, and flows seamlessly between both systems. Open enrollment is very easy and my ACA reporting of 1095Cs only took me about 20 minutes to do. Pros Employee Navigator is an excellent benefits system. It is very easy to use, and makes benefits administration less complicated. From the initial training to all of the available webinars and recordings to the support and the actual system itself, it is a well oiled machine! The bar has been set and I rarely use another system without expressing frustration that they don't have the options or setup that Employee Navigator does. Pros I love how easy Employee Navigator is to use. The system is very intuitive and able to calculate eligibility in a number of ways and account for a variety of unique circumstances. The enroller view looks just like the employee view and makes it easy for the enroller to see exactly what is being elected for only that specific new hire or open enrollment window. There is no guessing. The timeline tracks every action to an employee profile or election which makes it very easy to know exactly what happened and who was signed in to complete that action. Employee Navigator is constantly adding new partners for data integrations. Support is amazing. They are always friendly, helpful and responsive and if they aren't certain of an answer, they will work until they have an answer. The help pages are are easy to search and to understand and always link to other things that you might want or need to know about your topic. Employee Navigator is always a positive experience. Cons Because you have to be a premier user to call Support, there are times when I am working with another group and they can't specifically help me if I am not the premier user on that group. The Onboarding platform is also very straightforward and easy to use. Pros How easy it is to use, navigate through and find what you need quickly. How easy it is to build the plans and the instructions are straight forward, but the best thing about Employee Navigator is the Support Team and the quick response time in submitting a ticket or speaking with someone on the phone and getting an immediate response. the support team is amazing, you will not find any other software platform that provides better service! Pros When I present this software to a client and see how excited they get about how easy it is to manage and how easy it is for employees to enroll and say "I want it, where do we sign up", before I even finish the demo speaks for itself!!!!! :) Cons I would not say there is anything I like least about this software, it is constantly evolving, their product team wants to hear what is and is not working, if there is an ehnancement request that gets enough backing from other users, EN will do their best to make it happen or will alwasy provide a workaround! I liked it so much at a prior job that I brought it with me to my current job. Pros It's free thru our insurer, we get great IT support, and it makes electing benefits so easy. Cons Some of the configuration settings we need are a bit contrary and some of the integrations don't behave as expected. Whoever answers the phone owns your questions I have never had an issue with follow up. They work very hard to be partners sharing information and/or trainings without being annoying. I've been in employee benefits for 25 years and I highly recommend Employee Navigator. It has helped us scale and has greatly reduced our costs. We also love it integrates with lots of payroll and cobra vendors. Cons We have honestly not had any issues and are Raving Fans. Each time has been just fine. Pros Enrolling in benefits this year took all of two minutes and a couple of clicks. I like that. I've definitely used more confusing, tedious software and processes in the past, and it was unlike Employee Navigator. I'm grateful my company uses this to enroll in benefits. The only problem I'm having now is accessing my HSA, but this could very well not be to the fault of Employee Navigator. Cons I don't like that we only use this software once a year, for benefits selection. I'm not sure if more features exist or could be added to it so it'd be more relevant in our work lives. Pros The dashboard is set up to conveniently find what you are looking for. Whether it is benefits, PTO tracking, reporting, etc. Also, the process to add a new hire is easy to follow. Cons So many reporting options, it is sometimes tough to decipher which report I need to pull in order to find what I am looking for. Although, this is not necessarily a bad problem to have! Employees choose their coverage, I receive a notification of this and can print out a report of what they chose, all deductions automatically populate into our payroll system. I do not need to do anything! This is a free service that is being paid for my our insurance broker Cons Setting up the integration can be difficult, but I have done it a few times now over the years and I kind of know what I am doing. The reporting feature is cumbersome and hard to use. Reason for choosing Employee Navigator This has always been offered free by my insurance broker, cannot say no to a free product. It interfaces easily with our payroll system (Paylocity). New employees are automatically enrolled in the system and receive an email to set up their benefits. Payroll data is automatically updated for income-driven benefits, such as disability insurance. During Open Enrollment, the new benefits enrollments are automatically sent to Paylocity, so the individual deductions are updated. Cons The website does not allow you to update the passwords directly. Instead, it requires a password reset email be sent. Many of our employees only access the site during Open Enrollment, and do not actively use their email accounts. This can often create a chain reaction of password reset emails. November 15, 2022 5.0 Been wonderful and so helpful in streamlining the benefit deduction process. Previously I was hand entering each deduction for each employee every year and when changes occured and it's nice that it's so well integrated. We also receive it free through our insurance broker which is nice. Pros I love how seamlessly EN integrates with Paycor and all new employees are sent to EN and all elections are sent to the paygrid. It made open enrollment very easy last year. Cons It's always difficult to figure out how to resend a welcome email or access code to employees if they switched from inelgible to later eligible or if they lose the initial email.
