My overall experience with Employee Navigator has been very postive. From the initial training to all of the available webinars and recordings to the support and the actual system itself, it is a well oiled machine! The bar has been set and I rarely use another system without expressing frustration that they don't have the options or setup that Employee Navigator does.

Pros

I love how easy Employee Navigator is to use. The system is very intuitive and able to calculate eligibility in a number of ways and account for a variety of unique circumstances. The enroller view looks just like the employee view and makes it easy for the enroller to see exactly what is being elected for only that specific new hire or open enrollment window. There is no guessing. The timeline tracks every action to an employee profile or election which makes it very easy to know exactly what happened and who was signed in to complete that action. Employee Navigator is constantly adding new partners for data integrations. Support is amazing. They are always friendly, helpful and responsive and if they aren't certain of an answer, they will work until they have an answer. The help pages are are easy to search and to understand and always link to other things that you might want or need to know about your topic. Employee Navigator is always a positive experience.

Cons

Because you have to be a premier user to call Support, there are times when I am working with another group and they can't specifically help me if I am not the premier user on that group. I understand why they have the premier users, but it would be great if they could still help me with the specific group as long as I am a premier user on another account.

Very positive experiences with the system and with its employees who make it a pleasure to call in with a question.

Pros

They have the processes we need; are willing to listen to new ideas for upgrades to those processes; put lots of enthusiasm and effort into training and providing support to their clients and their vendors.

Cons

Honestly, they are awesome, but the one area which needs a bit more attention is the search tool. They have amazing articles, but the update of those articles doesn't show unless you click on them. I would like to see the updated date on the review page.

This is the most affordable and we loved the owner and management interatction. This is reflected in the employee's positive attitude and willingness to train and explain the processes we need to succeed in our efforts to serve our clients quickly and efficiently.

My clients love Employee Navigator and their employees find it easy to use and quick to make changes or enroll in benefits. The Onboarding platform is also very straightforward and easy to use.

Pros

How easy it is to use, navigate through and find what you need quickly. How easy it is to build the plans and the instructions are straight forward, but the best thing about Employee Navigator is the Support Team and the quick response time in submitting a ticket or speaking with someone on the phone and getting an immediate response. the support team is amazing, you will not find any other software platform that provides better service! They are exceptional!

Cons

Not sure, some of my clients want the ability to add unique programming but that is about all I can think of.

### "Employee Navigator - we LOVE it!"

We have solved the business problem of making small errors with data. In the past, we were looking at paper applications and putting the data in the Carrier portals. It is so easy to misspell a name, or not know how to spell a name based on the poor handwriting, but this is no longer a problem since the new hire employees are putting the data in themselves. It has also solved a problem with being able to easily run reports. The payroll deduction calculation is invaluable to our clients. We also use a report to cross-check enrollments with the current invoice produced from the Carriers. Open Enrollment changes have never been easier to track.

Pros

I love that all enrollments and terminations are paperless and EASY to capture.

Cons

Sometimes, the data on the timeline is a little hard to cipher. When I click on the 3 dots to see when the effective date is, sometimes it is hard to understand what the situation is. If there is one thing I wish to see an improvement on, it is the timeline and how the data is displayed. Everything else is amazing and wonderful!

The data integration feature made us choose EN over EASE. With EASE, it still required us downloading the applications and sending them in to the Carriers and/or doing the data entry ourselves.

Pros

When I present this software to a client and see how excited they get about how easy it is to manage and how easy it is for employees to enroll and say "I want it, where do we sign up", before I even finish the demo speaks for itself!!!!! :)

Cons

I would not say there is anything I like least about this software, it is constantly evolving, their product team wants to hear what is and is not working, if there is an ehnancement request that gets enough backing from other users, EN will do their best to make it happen or will alwasy provide a workaround! They go above and beyond to ensure that this product works for everyone.

### "Most user friendly system for a non-technical user"

Our experience has been very positive for us and our clients. It's a huge value to be able to offer this to our employers to help manage their employees and benefits.

Pros

We've learned as we go with this system but once we got the hang of certain features or rules for plan setup it became much more smooth to set up new accounts. We have used/experienced other systems and this is the most user friendly. The support team is excellent and helpful whenever we have questions. The wall feature is critical in managing changes.

Cons

The reporting tool could use some work. It's not possible to pull only new hire elections for deductions. There also needs to be a way to include new employees in an open enrollment period without having them enroll twice (once for OE and once for new hire eligibility). They MUST get the PDF editor/fillable form situation figured out asap. Being able to map any fields to a PDF form needs to be figured out.

I used both and found the alternative to be less intuitive. It looks nice/flashy and has one feature of PDF mapping/forms that is nice. Otherwise, we have other clients who use it and it doesn't do agent assisted enrollments smoothly nor does it integrate well with some of the third party vendors.

### "I've loved Employee Navigator since 2014"

I started using Employee Navigator back in 2014. I currently build and maintain three Employee Navigator portals for three Insurance brokers across the state of Florida. I love how I can customize Employee Navigator to accommodate the needs of several different business types. I have lawyers, executives, truck drivers, teachers and hair styles all logging into Employee Navigator and using it with ease. The only thing I love more than this software are the people at the help desk. If I run into any issues I can call. One day I was in tears and poor Max had to calm me down, then helped me fix my problem. If I have a difficult issue that can't be resolved on the phone, I get escalated to Tier Two. My turn around time with Tier Two is usually with in a day. The entire support team is friendly and dedicated to solving my issues so I can continue on with my day.

Pros

Employee Navigator is visually attractive. I am able to locate employee information quickly. I love the Voluntary Life toggles, those are fun to play with. One of my favorite features is when you change Coverage Level from Employee to Employee Spouse the per pay period deductions change instantly. Lastly I am loving the Third Party App, hooking up a partner is easy and reduces my clients work flow.

Cons

The I-9 feature in Tasks is useless. This feature gives the illusion that the employee and the client have completed the I-9, when all it has really done is make the employee enter the same information twice. Once in Employee Navigator then again when they go through the E verify process. I discourage everyone from using this feature.

Back in 2014 I actually signed the paperwork to move over to Zenafits. My insurance broker came to my office and had Employee Navigator do an online demo me. I decided to give my broker a chance with Employee Navigator. Boy am I glad I did! I used it in my company for On Boarding, Open Enrollment and PTO. It was easy for me to use.

We have been using Employee Navigator for close to 10 years. We were not disappointed with our choice, nor were our clients.

Pros

This system is superior when it comes to general benefits administration. Employee Navigator can handle the most complex of builds since it is a very customizable platform. Businesses love how quickly we can get it setup and love integrations back to payroll. A seamless system for users and HR alike.

Cons

Although not their core feature, spending some more time on Onboarding (digital I9, and type in forms), as well as their Time and Attendance modules would be beneficial to invest in.

### "Employee Navigator Rocks!"

I use this software every single day. It is integral to our business, and to my process as an outside sales representative. We would not be nearly as successful without it. I cannot recommend it enough to anyone who is looking for a new benefits administration software.

Pros

Employee Navigator has given us the ability to stay on the razors edge when it comes to benefits administration. It is hard to calculate the amount of time we save when providing services to our clients. It allows me, an outside sales rep, to confidently say that we have the best benefits administration technology on the market, a true differentiator when it comes to closing deals. We always say that employee navigator provides a robust benefit for both our agency, and the client!

Cons

The one caveat to using the software is that you MUST have at least 2 master users in the agency. We spend 2 weeks during onboarding training on this software, time that allows us to get a grasp of the capabilities but not nearly enough time to be proficient in the program. The only downside is that due to the complexity of the software, projects often get funneled through 1 person in the organization. This might sound like a silver-lining downside, but during the busy 4th quarter months, it does become a bit more apparent.

Absolutely positive! I liked it so much at a prior job that I brought it with me to my current job.

Pros

It's free thru our insurer, we get great IT support, and it makes electing benefits so easy.

Cons

Some of the configuration settings we need are a bit contrary and some of the integrations don't behave as expected.

I love working in a system that does everything that you need to do your job. They have a Knowledge Base available to research any topic you need. They have a little HELP button that stays on your screen. If you need help on anything you just type in a word or two and it takes you to an article on that subject and gives you several options. There is also a university on-line that offers very informative, easy learning to do your job. Also they offer Webinars all the time to keep you updated and in the know. And every 2 years they have a three day conference that is full of information, learning, socializing and fun. It is really nice to meet the people who work at EN and put a face with a name. Very professional!

Pros

Love the reporting. So many ways to run a report and get what you need. Also love Customer Support. Everyone is so professional and knowledgeable and patient with you.

Cons

PTO section. Haven't mastered that part yet. But I know that the Help Desk is there to help me when and if I need them.

Wonderful!

Pros

Their customer service is second to none. Whoever answers the phone owns your questions I have never had an issue with follow up. They work very hard to be partners sharing information and/or trainings without being annoying. I've been in employee benefits for 25 years and I highly recommend Employee Navigator. It has helped us scale and has greatly reduced our costs. We also love it integrates with lots of payroll and cobra vendors.

Cons

We have honestly not had any issues and are Raving Fans.

Pros

I like the simplicity of use. The knowledge base is outstanding. The service and support teams are excellent as well. It is nice to have people in this field that understand what we encounter daily.

I like to see more groups in the Data Exchange XML.

### "Meets the needs for benefits enrollment"

I've only used this a couple times due to the limited reasons behind using the software. Each time has been just fine.

Pros

Enrolling in benefits this year took all of two minutes and a couple of clicks. I like that. I've definitely used more confusing, tedious software and processes in the past, and it was unlike Employee Navigator. I'm grateful my company uses this to enroll in benefits. The only problem I'm having now is accessing my HSA, but this could very well not be to the fault of Employee Navigator.

Cons

I don't like that we only use this software once a year, for benefits selection. I'm not sure if more features exist or could be added to it so it'd be more relevant in our work lives.

Our company has been using Employee Navigator for about 6 years now and we couldn't be more pleased with the product! It is a true time saver and the carrier integrations are a HUGE part of that. I would highly recommend this product if you're looking for a great Ben Admin software!

Pros

One of the things I like about Employee Navigator is it's ease of use (very user friendly). Most importantly though is the fact that the staff at Employee Navigator is second to none in customer service! They have very experienced, knowledgeable staff that is always eager to help and walk you through any questions you might have. You actually get to talk to a REAL, LIVE person! You don't get sent to a voice mail or have to talk to a robot that makes you punch in a bunch of numbers before you get to talk to a real person!

Cons

The only thing Employee Navigator might improve on is some of their onboarding processes. However, I must say that they are ALWAYS willing to listen to their brokers and take their suggestions and are constantly improving that side of the product.

The support team at EN is excellent! They are responsive via phone and email. Phone support calls always have a follow up email that I can file for reference.

Pros

I love how easy it is for employees to log in and elect benefits - there is typically little training required for employees doing their enrollments. The employee experience works well on a computer or mobile device which opens it up to industries that are not computer based.

Cons

There are a few reporting formats that the system cannot accommodate right now (dependents in columns for all lines of coverage and putting all the benefits inclusive of monthly spending account amounts) that we have to have some creative workarounds for.

Pros

Employee Navigator is so user friendly. All our clients love how easy the system is to use. It is like a huge filing system for all their employee benefits. It assists our clients/HR users in keeping track of their employee benefit elections and makes Open Enrollment less stressful.

Cons

Like all benefit administrative and HR management systems there are some cons. You have to pay attention when setting up certain plans, such as short-term and long-term disability, and life insurance. However, I will say that the Employee Navigator customer service is top notch and will do their best to fix any issues you run into.

### "The best partnership ever!"

One of the best choices we ever made in regards to a vendor. We interviewed and actually spent many months working with other major vendors before making a total change to go with Employee Navigator. Never once have we regretted that change. Overall an exceptional experience for us and for our clients.

Pros

This is a very easy to understand platform with many options allowing it to work for a multitude of clients needs. Changes in the industry occur frequently and Employee Navigator (EN) is on top of those changes and the platform is updated almost immediately. EN does not wait to release new versions. Improvements occur continuously. It is evident that EN employs top notch programmers and advisement teams.

Cons

Sometimes this product doesn't meet 100% of our clients needs. When I start to think that maybe it should, I remember how cumbersome a product is to meet every single plan exception. It reminds me that ease of use is so much more important to us and our clients.

We chose Employee Navigator because from the beginning the founders and employees never hesitated to call us back and give us honest answers and expectations in regards to their product.

Pros

What we and our clients love about Employee Navigator: it's very user-friendly, no need to print New Hire and Open Enrollment documents/handouts, abiltiy to add employee "tasks" and track those tasks, it's self-service, available 24-7, everything is on the portal. This saves them time and money.

Cons

Setting up the plans for Vol STD and Vol LTD can be a little tricky and you really need to pay attention to the plan "rounding rules". Failure to do so will result in inaccurate employee costs.

### "Lots of training, lots of fields"

So far during the free trial it has been a lot of training and waiting and training and waiting - I wish it was more doing. I feel stuck and in a holding pattern right now, maybe that will change when I am able to begin working in it full time.

Pros

There is a lot of customization that can be done, and a lot of reports that you can pull. It also seems to integrate with a lot of carrier enrollment systems - that is a huge plus.

Cons

The training is a very long process - broken out by certain aspects of the system that you learn by watching then learn by doing in front of a trainer. This process of learning is just really long - I want to be able to get to work on day one, not have to wait weeks to be able to be in the system. One other thing, not having carrier applications in the system is hard - it is definitely a con over other systems as members want and carriers want the actual application filled out. And last it is strange to have one system administrator - or what they call prime user for an agency. My co-workers can't call with questions, they have to direct them to one user who has access to the customer service with Navigator. It causes a lot of work for our prime user.

### "Simple system with a lot of Zip!"

I think this system is the best out there and is always evolving into a better benefit admin system. There are constant improvements being made. Their support staff is great and very responsive.

Pros

The ease and simplicity of the system. Nor only do I find the system very easy to use and navigate but our client and their employees find it just as easy. Training clients how to use the site is a breeze and with all of the features I can customize each client's site to their own specifications. No matter how complex or how simple the client is there is always a way to implement a client just right.

Cons

There is no editable/signable online documents. Some of the default functions and settings could be setup better. Little things that could be tweeked but nothing major that can't be worked around. Could provide more training on functionality and provide manuals.

Reason for choosing Employee Navigator

They were much more cost effective and from their demo their system looked to be the simplest to use for both our office, our clients and their employees. They had everything we were looking to offer.
