It is flexible and very quick and easy to use. We did not have to spend a lot of time setting up a new online sign-up. Best of all, users do not have to create an account in order to sign up. Pros It is easy to learn and use, very user friendly, and does not require folks to create an account in order to sign up for an event. It is also very flexible for different types of sign-ups. Cons The graphic and design choices are a little limited, but this was a VERY minor issue for us. The only other thing is not being able to attach a document to the sign-up, but this also was a very minor issue for us. Sign Up doesn't have the bells and whistles, including collecting payment, like Sign Up Genius does. Sign Up would be great for the most simplistic of sign up lists; nothing to big or with too many selections/options to pick from. Wish the website site had more of a design. It's rather blank looking with just words,, not very appealing. But the functionality ultimately does what it says it will do (and for FREE) which is good all around. Pros You can easily transfer an event from one person to another person to be the owner of. I'm sorry we didn't make it more obvious, but we absolutely do offer a near-instant way to schedule a series of appointment spots - like for parent-teacher conferences, and to set up repeating schedules. Please click Help at the top of the site to learn how or to contact our support team. My parent volunteers show up on time, have automatic reminders for their position and I have the right number through first come first serve opportunities. Pros Thank you for offering this service for free to educators!! I am SO grateful for your platform and truly appreciate your service. I set up my volunteer slots at the beginning of the school year and have little to no maintenance on my side to keep volunteers organized. They receive automatic reminders from Signup.com which helps them show up on time and ready to volunteer which saves me time during my busy school year!! It's a wonderful product with staff members who have extensive knowledge about this software. Pros Well-written directions and great search function help me find the topic I need. The SignUp customer service is outstanding! They usually resolve my issues within just a few hours, even on a weekend. The user interface is very user-friendly. Cons I do not have any issues at all with SignUp. I just wish I had found them sooner. I was a previous user of SignUpGenius and my users really struggled with it. I don't need to shop around for any other system because Signup does it all. Pros Signup.com is a time efficient way to organize volunteers for events and both short term and long term programs. The system simplified how we make contact with people through email and text messaging. Invitations to participate and reminders to those who have signed up are automatic. It is also a secure system that provides privacy to my contacts and does not share their information with outsiders. We have used Signup for 5 years at my not-for-profit organization and we upgrade to ad free for 3 months during our busy summer season. I definitely recommend investing in the upgrade! Edits are easy to make and all of the descriptions to our spots can be modified as needed. Generating printable lists and reports to use at our volunteer events are ready in a click of a button. Cons I am of the generation that grew up prior to computer technology so for me there is no such thing as "intuitive". I sometimes just click on things until I find the menu for the report and information I am looking for. It was easy to set up, relatively inexpensive, great customer service. Our volunteers loved the phone app. What a system! If we were short of a volunteer to cover a shift at a particular centre we sent a message to the apps, it pinged on hundreds of phones and usually someone offered to fill the slot in seconds. Ours was one of the first counties in Wales to meet covid vaccination targets - ensuring there were enough wayfinder volunteers at each site to help process people safely was crucial to that success, and Sign Up ensured we could do it. Thank you! Pros Initially we tried tracking volunteer using spreadsheets and phone calls. Considering we had three vaccination sites across a rural area and a a very ambitious programme to vaccinate the population in a short timescale and had many hundreds of volunteers, we needed a system which offered effective scheduling, rapid communication and good reporting systems. Sign Up was the ONLY commercially available system to offer this for volunteers - HR software might have worked but was too expensive as it contained lots of features you do not need when mobilising volunteers. Cons Nothing! The software is perfect for the application it is designed for - mobilising and managing volunteering! Reason for choosing SignUp.com There is no other comparable product. HR software can provide rota software but as it generally has lots of features not applicable to volunteers it is prohibitively expensive for charities to use to manage the deployment of volunteers. October 27, 2017 5.0 Pros I love the service and how it shows status in real time, and parents like the flexibility to rearrange appointments at will. The reminders are a very good thing, and I had zero unannounced no-shows at any appointment. The notification options for participants, being able to send a link in email AND post a button to my website was brilliant. I think I caught every parent I needed to see, and others clearly knew they had the option to meet with me if they wished. Cons I use the free service and am unlikely to purchase an upgrade at this time. (I only benefit your company in terms of eyeballs and awareness as my students families sign in, and as I recommend your site to other teaching colleagues.) In order for me to continue to be a devotee of SignUp.com, I need an easier and more obvious way to find the list of parents who signed up with the field that shows who their child is in my class. With today's blended families, parent last names are not an indicator of who their child is. As a middle school teacher with 100+ student on my rosters, I need a fast way to see who the adult is that has made the appointment, as well as who is the child they are coming to consult about. I bounced around your multiple list views and reports before contacting Help. Their response was very swift, (yay!), but the answer was not self-evident to me as a user: I needed to pull up a Check-In report, and there I would at last find the students names shows, as long as I checked the show extra fields box when requesting the report. All told, I figured out the answer over the course of a couple of afternoons, but I admit I was getting frustrated. When I told this to SignUp customer service, the were back to me within minutes and expressed they would look into how to make it more intuitive in the future. One can't beat their responsiveness! VP Education Management Used the software for: 2+ years ### "Convenient Volunteer Calendar" February 6, 2020 4.0 We are always looking for ways to engage volunteers and streamline the process of communicating volunteer opportunities and logistics. SignUp.com allows us to use a free web-based solution that is easily accessible for our school's parent population, and it makes our jobs as volunteer coordinators much more simple than if we were trying to maintain offline records. Pros Our PTO has used SignUp.com for over two years. As a nonprofit serving a local public school, we love that it is free for all of our parents who are trying to help our students and teachers. We use it to track volunteers for all of our projects. It is easy to copy/paste recurring shifts for jobs such as Media Center volunteers but we can also customize the shifts for specific days or alternate schedules. We like that volunteers can make comments for everybody to see (such as, "I can work this shift but will be 15 minutes late."). However, the biggest pro for us is the feature to "group" calendars together. We usually direct volunteers to the grouped URL, and people can then easily see all of the activities or events that are available for volunteering; we have calendars for Media Center, Cafeteria, Book Fairs, Fundraisers, and other special events. We have found that not having to promote separate URLs for each upcoming event has streamlined our volunteer communications and made it easier for our parents to find the task that best suits them for getting involved. Cons The mobile version of SignUp.com does not display the details very conveniently for users. For Book Fairs, we list the classes that are coming during each volunteer shift, and we often hear from volunteers who ask us when their child's class is coming because they cannot see the details for the shifts. It seems to require a lot of clicking/navigating to access the specific shift details on the mobile version. Review Source GK Gene K. When I do have a problem with SignUp it is because I forgot a step but then got set strait, so it is all good to me. Pros SignUp allows the organization to list all the positions, time slots, etc., for an event and once posted, this allows those to whom the information was sent to sign up if they can and want to. This cuts down on time spent calling or emailing individuals asking for their help. Cons I can not say that I have any Cons; I am sure there may be some for an organization that uses the system on a regular basis and that puts together larger venues. But for us, we love SignUp and recommend it to others all the time. Reason for choosing SignUp.com I was told about SignUp as well by another user, so my first and last option. It makes managing volunteers on paper so easy. At a glance, I can see how many more I need and for what task, day or event. Pros 1) intuitive 2) it doesn't ask for a lot of unnecessary info from volunteers 3) it's quick and easy to sign up large groups 4) you can attach a volunteer waiver with the paid subscriptions 5) you have the ability to print out a roster, a check-in form or a summary Cons A minor fix - I would just like to see the ability to use a single email address to sign up multiple groups. For example, a coach who signed up her track team to volunteer, can also use the same email address to sign up her youth church group for the same event. It allows individuals to choose what time/date works best for them and emails confirmations for me. Pros I love that I can use signup.com to have parents and students sign up for a time to complete parent-teacher conferences. I am an online teacher and signup.com makes it super quick to put together an event, in this case conferences, with individual slots people can sign up for that work for them. I put together a list of possible options, and, using my specific event link which I email to parents, signup.com directs them to choose a slot. Once the slot is full, it is unavailable for anyone else. Signup.com saves me so much time. I can put together an event in 5 -10 minutes, and signup.com manages it for me. I can then check who has signed up and confirm with them their slot. Cons There is nothing I do not like. I would recommend adding more picture designs to spice up the invites. It is easy to set up, easy to navigate, and parents find it very convenient. The reminders to parents and updates to teachers are also helpful. Pros It's very easy and quick to set up for conferences. It keeps me updated on all activity or on any changes, and provides an organized printout of the event's families and time slots. It gives parents flexibility in choosing a time slot and in changing their time slot. Cons I have no complaints on this product. There were no glitches, and it worked seamlessly for the event. They liked the fact they didn't have to create an account, and how easy it was to sign up for several things, including bringing celebration day items. December 1, 2018 5.0 I've also used SignUp.com to organize a professional luncheon, and our turnout was higher than ever -- we believe because of the ease of RSVP-ing and paying in just a matter of minutes. Will definitely recommend SignUp.com and use it again in the future, enthusiastically! Pros Setting up the RSVP and payment functions (through WePay) was straightforward and intuitive. While not specifically designed for this specific function (a high school class reunion), it worked spectacularly and not only helped people RSVP, but also commit with their payments and get automatic periodic reminders. It took the pain out of having to collect money in cash or checks, and eliminated the need to post "someone at the door" to collect, so that all of us could just enjoy the reunion when it arrived. Also the ability to generate the list of RSVPs (sign-ups) and share with others was terrific. Cons For us, gathering RSVPs but also collecting money, the process of going from one to the other could be improved as a few people signed up but didn't pay at first, and others paid at first but didn't "sign up." Once the organizer chooses to collect money, the system should self-configure to guide the end-user (who is signing up) to both sign up and then pay, to avoid having people do one part but not the other.
