Pros SignUpGenius is a good tool for organizing events, volunteer schedules, and group activities. The platform is user-friendly and makes it easy to create custom sign-up forms in just minutes. I especially appreciate how simple it is to share links with participants and automatically send reminders, which significantly reduces the time spent coordinating by email or phone. Cons My biggest complaint with SignUpGenius is that it's not very user-friendly when you need to change your selections after signing up. " November 13, 2025 4.0 I am new to using this website and its features so I still have some trouble using it from time to time however the ease that it provides me to plan and coordinate activities at work is still worth the extra time to figure out how to use it. Pros I use sign up genius at work frequently to collaborate with other employees to complete group events such as potlucks, baby showers, etc. I am newer to using this website and then features that it offers but I was able to figure it out without any use of customer support. So far I have been able to use this site for free but I do think there are additional things that you can pay for if you were using it more frequently. It has been very helpful when setting up and coordinating events to manage volunteering and participation easier. Cons I do feel like there is a bit of a learning curve when starting use this website. The features and directions are not very clearly described and I frequently have to use a trial and error method to find out what exactly I want to use. It does have a lot of additional features and designs that you can use but they have to be paid for which also makes me sad however I am happy to use the free version to coordinate events. It is user friendly for the person setting up and the person filling out the sign-up. Pros I like that it is easy to set up and share with my class for any class event. I really like that it sends an automatic reminder to the participants a day or two before to remind people of what they signed up for. It is easy to send invites to people as well. Cons The ads on the side are distracting as well as the ones after you complete a sign-up. I wish that you could duplicate an old sign-up. (You may have this but I haven't seen it.) Pros Trusted by all, it is an easy-to-use software for engaging donors, volunteers, and scheduling people. Event management is much easier with this product! Cons The ads! The paid version doesn't offer a middle ground that makes sense. To send 6-12 SignUps annually, it isn't cost-effective to pay for it, but the ads are impossible to navigate around. Cons For some reason when our manager emails SignUp Genius to our volunteers, I do not receive the email and am therefore unable to sign up for shifts. The person responsible for setting up the event in SignUp Genius has verified my email address but doesn't know where to go for technical support. I like the ability to allow more than one volunteer to sign up for each date - the slots feature is helpful! I also appreciate the option to have email reminders sent to volunteers prior to their commitment. This saves a lot of time, and allows me to rest assured that my volunteers will show up! The forms are relatively easy to create, duplicate, and send. My volunteers also find the signing up process to be quick and easy. Cons There are times when using SignUpGenius that the ads can get in the way. This is, I imagine, only on the free version. Without doing a little digging, it can be difficult to set up the form initially - use takes some getting used to. I haven't been able to find a similar app or product that can do it with the ease of SignUp Genius. Cons The thing that could be improved is the look of it. It is not very customizable as far as how it looks to volunteers. It looks very old and sloppy. It needs a fresh clean remake. " February 7, 2022 5.0 SignUp Genius has made planning our events and organizing our volunteers so easy. We are able to get the volunteers needed as well as any supplies needed more efficiently. I like that the event details as well as the volunteer information is all in one place, easy for me to see and easy for our clients to see and respond. I am able to track every aspect of my event very easily and communicate with everyone on multiple platforms. I feel my event attendance has gone up since using this software and my clients appreciate how easy it is to use. I highly recommend using this for your sign up needs. May 30, 2022 5.0 Overall experience with SignUp Genius is excellent, I would definitely recommend it. Pros SignUp Genius makes it very easy for volunteers to manage volunteers, and for supervisors to see what is going oin with their efforts. As noted before it is very concrete, and allows people to sign up for specific jobs - which is usually what volunteers want to do. It is easy to sign up, and you can make changes if needed. The reminders are super important. Basically, SignUp Genius does exactly what you need it to do. Thank you! Cons Last I remember using it, it was a little cumbersome to change the order of things appearing in a sign up. Maybe this has been fixed. Let's say, forwhatever reason, you had to add something you forgot to the middle of your list. So you type it it, and then you have to retype half of what you already entered, and then go back and delete the original entry of what you just retyped, in order to get your new item in the right place. The ability to dag items / functions would be better. Also, the graphics are less than stellar (?) make it easier to input your own graphics? I have had large conflicts due to administrators not cross examining how information is displayed once the link is live. I want SignUpGenius to grow because as a free platform people are very familiar and connected to it. I would love to mainly use SignUpGenius for most events and coordination with groups, but it’s simply not a professional enough environment, yet. Pros People are familiar with the platform and feel comfortable navigating it compared to other products. Also it’s easily accessible by both mobile devices and computers. There is also some customization. Cons The platform is sub-par in it’s ability to collate contact information or mass communicate. July 29, 2019 4.0 When looking for a powerful and flexible tool for managing signups for a small organization, there is no competitor out there that beats SignUpGenius. We have used other tools and tried ones that offered the moon but failed to deliver. SUG has been capable at its core competency and allowed us to drive and find ways to use it more fully and successfully. Reliable compared to other systems, it does take some time to learn if you truly want to be an expert at it - as does any system, but it is worth the time spent. Pros We use SUG for such a variety of volunteer and meeting/appointment management we have probably explored most of the features to their fullest. The flexibility to adapt the various types of signups used for different types of opportunities and extending the signups using forms and notifications is powerful. The service can handle a pretty heavy load as we've pounded it with over a hundred signups in under five minutes for things like Parent-Teacher Conferences. Cons The few types of signups you have available are powerful but not necessarily intuitive and you have to think about how you want the signup to look like and how the signup will flow for the user, leading to some trial and error when you first begin. The requirement for time slots to have a start and end time, makes it tricky to use for items that are just at a particular time, like dropping off items for a bake-sale, but other open ended signups don't read right. Particularly because our primary type of signup is time-slots, it took us a bit to get used to and understand the process of creating the day and time on which something is occurring, then add the slot that is happening at that date and time. The recent updates attempted to combine the pages on which those two steps occur, but make it even harder to intuit out how to attach the two items together. SUG was more easily understood and easy for teachers and other administrators to manage their items, so we could distribute the responsibility and support. Being able to schedule events for my team to sign up for in advance, while also being able to manage those sign up forms is very valuable to me. I work with a lot of students and their schedules are very fluid. Being able to adjust scheduling but also get this to them via phone helps get events put together in quick time, saving energy and time so I can produce more for my organization Cons I wish you could customize more in depth.
