### "Best Single Pane of Glass Monitoring Solution"

December 16, 2024

5.0

Overall, I like DataDog a lot. It beats the various disparate monitoring products we were using before.

Pros

APM and single pain of glass. This makes it easy to get host metrics for resource utilization and an easy traceback for exceptions.

Cons

Searching logs is not as intuitive as I would like. Text search doesn't work when logs are sent as JSON. Simple grep would make things easier.

Alternatives considered

[New Relic](https://www.capterra.com/p/118128/New-Relic/)

Reason for choosing Datadog

I prefered the interace of DataDog over New Relic

### "Go-to Observability+ Platform"

December 16, 2024

5.0

See pros and cons. My experience is mostly great. My go-to tool given the funds are there. Just be aware that support is lacking. I would love to see this improve and it would help us greatly if we were able to reliably get good help.

Pros

Ease of use, extensive features, intuitive design. By far the easiest observability platform I've ever used while also being the most feature dense. Impressive, and improving faster than I can even keep up.

Cons

Datadog support leaves much to be desired. They tend to be extremely dismissive, often trying to close the ticket as quickly as they can without offering any help. You really need to ask for escalations or hop on a call to get legitimate help the majority of the time. There is a long-running inside joke at our company that any bug we find will only get the response "ok, we can put in a feature request"...

### "Great live monitoring tool"

November 1, 2025

5.0

Pros

Great tool to live monitoring logs from front end interface with customers. Easy to track and identify bugs and issues, even reproduce customers steps to visualize users behaviours.

Cons

User interface is sometimes a bit tricky to find hidden functionalities, but not that a good reading through documentation doesn’t solve.

### "Powerful Observability Tool"

February 17, 2025

5.0

Datadog is an excellent observability platform that provides in-depth monitoring, logging, and security insights for cloud environments.

Pros

Datadog provides full-stack monitoring for infrastructure, applications, logs, security, and even real user monitoring (RUM).

Cons

While Datadog is powerful, configuring it properly (e.g., setting up monitors, fine-tuning alerts, and writing queries in its DSL) requires time and experience.

### "Powerful Monitoring with a Steep Learning Curve and High Costs"

March 6, 2025

5.0

Datadog provides powerful monitoring and observability with extensive integrations, but its pricing and complexity can challenge larger deployments.

Pros

Its comprehensive monitoring, real-time insights, and seamless integrations with various services.

Cons

Its pricing can be high, especially at scale, and the UI can feel overwhelming for new users.

Very positive. I think it's the market leader in visibility and observability. I am saying this having worked with Splunk, Grafana and other similar products.

Pros

Intuitive UI, and feature packed. Setting up dashboards has been a breeze. Most recently I set up several Synthetic tests for my organization and I was pleasantly surprised with its capabilities. Great documentation to support various features overall.

Cons

My organization has complained about cost of the product.

### "Awesome one stop solution - Datadog"

December 16, 2024

5.0

We enjoy working with it, and we are impressed by its performance, customization options, stability, efficiency, security, Functionality, Modularity.

Pros

Datadog is an excellent tool for monitoring real-time application errors, information, warning logs, and overall infrastructure to ensure performance and reliability. It is a fully stable application. We enjoy working with it, and we are impressed by its performance. There is no slowness at all, and there is zero downtime. It is a one-shot tool that provides a complete solution to all your requirements with the best customization capability.

Cons

A few improvements are expected: the UI should be more user-friendly, and a help menu with "How to customize easily" should be added for those using it for the first time. No data visualization.

### "Great but expensive observability suite"

December 16, 2024

4.0

Overall, after some ups and downs, they've been a good partner. Their tool is extremely powerful, and enables a lot of excellent practices around observability, but you have to pay for it.

Pros

End-to-end observability, great search and analytics capability

Cons

Can be expensive, especially at scale. They also introduce new features for free but then charge you later.

### "Datadog Review"

January 14, 2026

5.0

My experience with Datadog was very good overall, I loved the high workloads and the fast changing environment.

Pros

Datadog is widely reviewed as a powerful platform with some of the best integrations in it. The software has a sheer number of features.

Cons

I hardly cared for it that much because it was very pricing with its structure. Integrations are easy, but configuration can require alot of work at the same time.

### "Great & rich centralized observability tool that just works!"

December 26, 2024

5.0

I've used Datadog for several years now. It is my go-to observability tool. I'd highly recommend it to anyone.

Pros

\- Centralized observability - Rich features, covering end-to-end stack - Good UI/UX experience - Rich integration with other libraries and frameworks - Reliability and scalability

Cons

\- The pricing model is too rigid. It can be expensive when you have the scale. - The pricing model can be too complicated to understand - No startup or credits offering

### "Data dog is good for monitoring uptime "

### "Effective Monitoring Solution"

December 16, 2024

4.0

Overall, Datadog gets the job done. Through APM, tracing, infrastucture metrics and log explorer, I’m able to triage my incidents effectively. The Watchdog product is also super convenient. Its able to general catch issues/changes that may impact your business. Its very useful especially when/if you’re missing some alerts that were not accounted for.

Pros

The UI and UX is intuitive for the most part.

Cons

Depending on the product being used, UI can be alittle overwhelming and complex.

### "Execellent tool. Would recommend it any day."

December 16, 2024

5.0

Pros

An excellent tool for solving all problems. It includes tracing capabilities and distributed tracing. Metrics and logs are real-time. It also offers RUM for user monitoring across different devices, custom metrics, as well as seamless integration with incident response tools.

Cons

I'm nitpicking, but the IaaS code needed to write monitors isn't intuitive. The API data is convoluted and quite confusing when it comes to writing complex monitors. There is a workaround to copy and paste the JSON from the Datadog UI, but reading what the monitor does directly from the code is quite a chore.

As Cloud consultant, we were able to deploy observability quickly using Datadog. Integrations are awesome, however there can be more added for AWS SSM run books to auto remediate some alerts.

Pros

User interface and product features are great!

Cons

Being a cloud consultant this is what i have seen. Datadog Cost is high so enterprise clients are trying to move away from Datadog.

### "Great just Great"

March 20, 2026

5.0

Overall, my experience with Datadog has been very positive. It provides a comprehensive observability platform that brings together metrics, logs, and traces in a cohesive way, making it easier to monitor and troubleshoot systems. The interface is powerful and flexible, allowing for deep insights into application performance and infrastructure health. While there is a learning curve and costs can grow quickly, the value it delivers in terms of visibility and efficiency is significant. It has become an essential tool for maintaining reliability in complex environments, helping teams detect and resolve issues faster with greater confidence.

Pros

What I like most about Datadog right now is how seamlessly it brings everything together—metrics, logs, traces, and security—into a single, unified platform. It makes troubleshooting faster because you can move from a high-level view down to granular details without switching tools. The dashboards are highly customizable and visually clear, which helps both technical and non-technical teams stay aligned. I also appreciate the breadth of integrations and how quickly new features are rolled out. Overall, it feels like a mature, reliable observability solution that scales well with growing infrastructure and increasingly complex environments.

Cons

I honestly have no negative feedback to give. Datadog works great and I will keep using it. Keep it up
