Cons The partner's qualification process, releasing a new version every year may cause difficulties in migration from version to version but it is fit for SMEs. Still, big enterprises need a lot of work to re-engineer the process to match the customers' needs. Pros I mainly use to manage, plan and track projects automatically. Odoo is completely open-source which cut short expenses. Pros Personalization of sales has been simple and the app is easy to use on a daily basis. I am able to keep track of leads of sales. It is easy to create websites with Odoo. January 3, 2025 2.0 The system software is user friendly and we expect it will work with our operations. However, the level of customer service, communication, and overall timeliness has been below expectations. Pros The system works well, ie the software and visual representation. Cons We have not been impressed with the customer service. There has been a clear lack of updating us on timelines, forcing us to chase for answers. Further, timing expectations of delivery have not been met re: product development. In case of any disputes, does not protect the client, as there seem to be shared interests between some Odoo employees and the partners, in my opinion. However, I am still learning how to get more results out of the same software. Pros There are a ton of features, more than I would think about any business can make use of, all for an affordable monthly subscription. There are a lot of ways to customize the software to work for your business and improve workflows, and many connectors available for connecting to external API's (my most used one is UPS) Cons The huge variety of apps available and extensive options makes it pretty difficult for a beginner to dive in, DIY style. They offer success packs to get you up and going, but they're really expensive (personal subjective opinion, I guess). The free support included with the online subscription is pretty good, and there's some videos online that might get you started, but it'll be a bit of work getting going. We were able to customize it for our clients particular needs and regulations. Pros The accessible, included features to implement ERP in your business. Options to host in cloud, in your infra or using odoosh infra. Highly customizable, big community with addons. Cons The Steep learning curve for customization. There is a mismatch of things that work in the hosted versions vs the cloud versions which can be confusing when planning out the implementation. Review Source bH brian H. We spent thousands on internal consultants, plus we hired a third-party consultant, because Odoo consultants were not available or didn't provide work-arounds. Constant frustration. Hundreds of hours trying to implement the product. Simple tasks like setting up email and service contracts are almost impossible to get working, even with paid assistance. Pros Not much to like. We hoped for an all-in-one product to save duplicate data entry. What we got was a ton of non-integrated features, complicated workarounds, and compromises, plus expensive uncaring, unresponsive PAID consultants. Cons No field service scheduling. Accounting system is overly complex and not suitable for smaller companies that need simple accounting. Calendar started double-booking, Requirement expensive consulting to implement. Tons of work-arounds. Unresponsive, uncaring consultants, expensive consulting fees. Alternatives considered [Zoho Desk](https://www.capterra.com/p/169505/Zoho-Desk/) Reason for choosing Odoo Recommended by a trusted colleague. Seemed to have all the features integrated. Their support is helpful and answered my questions on time, and the website is easy enough to get around. Pros I really like that has a lot of customizations options. Cons I dislike that while the free plan allow you to use one app for free, if you'd like to use more than 1, you have to upgrade to an all apps plan. It would be helpful to offer a price per additional app or just a subscription price for only a certain amount of apps.
