It is the one location where all of the business exists as opposed to where there were once 6 locations. Before Odoo, we utilized one application to generate quotes, a spreadsheet to manage inventory levels, a third application to send invoices, and often the same part number would be represented differently (three ways), therefore every month someone would reconcile the differences and every month there would be slight discrepancies. If your organization relies heavily upon spreadsheets to operate, Odoo replaces those spreadsheets and delivers on much of that promise.

Pros

The parts of Odoo that actually help me get things done are the single-database idea (so I don’t have to worry about three separate systems being inconsistent) and Studio. I use Studio to create custom fields or move items around on forms – I created two custom fields within hours to track things that were unique to our company. None of my coworkers are technical; however, they learned the basic ideas of Odoo in a week. It runs in a web browser as well so I can see orders on my phone while I’m away from the office. There’s this awful synth music going on right now and the man sitting behind me has no headphones on during his video conference so I hope my sentence doesn’t fall apart!

Cons

We’re charged per user each month and for certain Apps. Every time I think “that sounds great,” I find out we need another App. I know of people who made a field in Studio only to have to reverse-engineer it 6 months later. Searching large databases is also slow. They load the entire page first, before allowing me to filter anything, so I just sit there waiting for the spinner rather than performing my duties. Pet Peeve: Each application looks somewhat different. The buttons move around, and even after using the software for 2 years, I still occasionally press the wrong corner.

So far, the experience has been good with minor hiccups here and there. The plug-and-play model allows us to add the must have modules first, then based on the usage, other modules can be added later. This flexibility along with competitive pricing makes Odoo a good product in the market.

Pros

Odoo ERP has really helped me to manage the diverse business functions into a single amalgamated window. Right from picking up the sales lead from CRM and tracking the prospects to invoicing and inventory management, Odoo helps in everything.

Cons

We faced a technical issue during the integration of one of the modules. The data wasn't flowing in. We tried to reach customer support, but the response was unexpectedly very slow. As new modules are on-boarded, more assistance would be required. Odoo needs to work on this aspect to make it better.

My overall experience is mixed. The software itself is very good and has strong potential, but the consulting experience was disappointing. I expected the consultant to bring expertise, understand our business processes, and help us translate our needs into a practical Odoo setup. Instead, I often spent more time and energy trying to obtain clear answers than I saved by using the consulting service. After 25 hours, I did not feel that we had reached a sufficiently concrete or useful configuration for our company. For companies considering purchasing an Odoo consulting package, I would strongly recommend also evaluating experienced external Odoo consultants. The software is valuable, but in my case the official consulting service did not provide enough added value.

Pros

Odoo is a powerful and flexible software with many useful features. The platform itself has a lot of potential, and even the built-in AI is often very effective for standard questions and basic guidance. I also appreciate the fact that many business processes can be managed within one ecosystem.

Cons

My main disappointment was the consulting service. I purchased a 25-hour consulting package for about €1,450 after a 15% discount. Unfortunately, I felt that a significant part of those hours was not used for real consulting. In several cases, even for relatively standard Odoo questions, the assigned consultant had to ask internal colleagues for help, and all of that time was deducted from my package. I fully understand paying for the time needed to answer my questions, but I do not think I should also be paying for the consultant's own training time. I also found the approach too standardized. There was very little effort to understand our specific business model and propose tailored solutions. The answers often remained within the most basic standard configuration, without really exploring tools such as Odoo Studio or more suitable alternatives. Even the first hours of the package were partly spent on standard presentations that were not specifically adapted to our company.

Odoo offers optimal digital support for all areas of business processes, anytime, anywhere. The ability to access important information and processes from anywhere offers significant benefits.

Pros

The system allows the company to manage both its finances and inventory in a single system. This makes Odoo comprehensive business software and ideally suited for project controlling. It is inherently easy to use and saves considerable time, making work more efficient. Best of all, no software installation is required, can be cloud based. Furthermore, its extensive functionality and up-to-dateness are impressive, thanks for to its many features and regular updates.

Cons

That's hard to say, as the range of functions is very extensive and the software is highly scalable. However, the development environment for customization projects could be improved or made easier.

My overall experience with Odoo was positive. I used the free trial mainly to understand how the platform handles business processes, and I can see why companies choose it as an all-in-one system. Having sales, customer information, invoicing and other operations connected in the same platform is a major advantage. It also seems flexible enough to grow with a business instead of forcing you to replace the system later. At the same time, I think new users need to invest some time before the experience becomes comfortable.

Pros

What impressed me most during the free trial was how much Odoo brings together in one system. Sales management, contacts, invoicing and transaction-related workflows can all connect to each other instead of feeling like separate tools. I especially liked the idea of being able to start with the modules I need and expand later. Once I understood the basic structure, the workflow started to make much more sense and the overall feature set felt very capable.

Cons

The main issue for me was the learning curve. Odoo has so many modules, menus and configuration options that the first experience can feel more complicated than expected. Some simple tasks took me longer because I had to understand how Odoo structures the workflow first. I only used the free trial, so I did not get far enough to judge every advanced feature or the long-term customer support experience.

Overall, my experience with Odoo has been positive. It is a powerful and flexible business management platform that can bring many different processes together in one place. The integration between modules is particularly useful and can significantly reduce manual work and improve visibility across the business. While the initial setup and learning curve can take some time, once properly configured, Odoo can become a very effective solution for managing day-to-day business operations.

Pros

What I like most about Odoo is that it brings multiple business functions into one integrated platform. CRM, sales, invoicing, accounting, inventory, purchasing and other modules can all work together, which reduces the need for multiple separate systems and manual data entry. I also appreciate the flexibility and customization options, allowing the system to be adapted to different business processes as the company grows.

Cons

The main drawback is that Odoo can take some time to configure and learn, especially when using multiple modules or advanced features. Some workflows are not immediately intuitive, and customization can require technical knowledge. There can also be occasional performance issues or bugs, particularly with larger databases or more complex configurations. Customer support and pricing flexibility could also be improved.

Capable software wrapped in an adversarial commercial relationship. We are a volunteer-run charity working in suicide prevention, funded by grants, and we chose Odoo to consolidate our operations. The build itself is achievable and the tools are strong. What wore us down was the billing culture around it. Every interaction felt metered, every customisation felt like a risk, and goodwill was absent at exactly the moments a charity needs it. If you have a commercial budget and technical people in house, you may absorb this. If you are a small nonprofit expecting a partner, read the timesheet before you sign.

Pros

The core platform is genuinely capable. Studio let us build a full set of custom models, youth records, expenses, funders, budgets, without writing a line of code, which is rare for a system this deep. The external API is clean and well documented, so we could connect our own tools and front ends to it without fighting the platform. It is modular, so you only switch on what you need, and when it works it replaces a pile of spreadsheets and disconnected tools with one system. For a small organisation that needs a real database rather than another silo, the software does the job.

Cons

The commercial and support experience is the problem, not the software. Support was billed against our success pack in fifteen minute increments, including time spent on Odoo's own internal work. When Odoo moved our project to its US office, the only way to get support within the evening hours our volunteers actually work, we were billed four hours for the handover between their staff. Reviewing their own notes, watching their own videos, meeting their own colleagues. When we objected, we were pointed to an email that had warned us it would be chargeable. Earlier in the build they tried to reclassify standard Studio automation as custom code to justify a maintenance charge, which we disputed. You learn quickly that anything near the edges of the platform, including exposing your own custom apps to portal users, is either a potential invoice or a limitation nobody flagged at the start.
