Pros: Easy to use and you have many options depending what you are trying to get out of Tracecloud. I enjoy using the program.

Frustrating and confusing tool.

Pros: I do not like much about this tool at all; I've used DOORS for years and it is great. It's accessible, easy, clear, etc. whereas TraceCloud I feel is not.

Cons: TraceCloud is a bunch of folders, with requirements in them, with no context (they are not even in the appropriate order of the contract? There are no headings to tell what section you're in? It's extremely confusing). No one should EVER change the contract requirements text, and that has happened. No one should have access to other people's requirements either, but they do. There is no unique Identifier, which makes it extremely hard for traceability as anytime the requirement changes (which again shouldn't happen?) it gets a whole new ID (Tag ID) number assigned to it. That could be an issue with the RM Process as well, but from my experience with TraceCloud, it's frustrating and I am hopeful that I don't have to use it again in the future.

Pros: The thing that I like most about the software is the ability to go in and check multiple projects and documents in a central location.

Cons: The thing I like least about the software is that you need permission to access a lot of the folders and documents.

Very good value - a lot of features and functionality at very reasonable price.

Pros: The feature for connecting projects (=user defined database areas) facilitates organizing data in logical, manageable groups with appropriate user permissions. Even though separate areas still achieve full traceability between related requirements.

Customizable attributes and folder views allows tailoring to suit our needs.

Can merge database output with a Word document template when exporting data. This allows for database output directly into Word doc with custom company header and footer.

Trial license allowed me to explore and become comfortable with tool before purchase. At point of purchase I was confident it would do the job.

The interactive Trace Map view of trace relationships is very nice. You can follow it down a path and expand/contract the information as needed. Plus you can click on any requirement in the Trace Map and go directly to that requirement detail in the database.

Exceptionally fast response from support team on questions. Often get a response within a few minutes.

Cons: User interface is not as polished or intuitive as some other requirements management tools that I've previously used. However, once you explore the tool and understand how it is organized and the functions, then not an issue. I think it helped to have used other relational databases before using TraceCloud. For example, nearly all filtering and selection of data is done via the "Report" function which essentially means via database queries, rather than vi a more interactive user interface. The reports can be saved and run again later, which is good.

The on-line documentation and 'how to' videos do not match the current user interface. All the features and functions are there but are presented in the User Interface differently than in the documentation.

Word template feature doesn't support .docx formats, so you have to remember to create Word templates as .doc (Word 97-2003 files).

Overall: Traceability is the primary value from this software (among standards, user needs, requirements, risk controls, interface control documents, test protocols). Previously performed all tracing via Word and Excel tables which is very labor intensive, fragile and error prone.

Pros: -The many features, handy tools and short cuts to enable traceability
-Color coded to see which requirements are orphan, dangling or suspects
-Able to see to change propagations visually
-Easy to use software

Cons: -Tailoring the requirement default tags to suit our requirement headings/labels
-Everything else is spot on!

Been very helpful for our project to monitor the thousands of requirements we have.

Pros: The software is somewhat instinctive. The learning curve is small and we are able to train people to use it quickly and effectively.

Cons: The software is still young and has a few errors every now and again, but tech support is great and fast at responding.

Overall: It is able to handle a lot of information and present it in a manner that is easy to monitor.

Comments: My Project Manager reviewed this 5/5 in April 2016. Since then it has got even better. Exceptionally attentive support and willingness to enhance the product in line with its philosophy.

We use TraceCloud heavily in our project and have found it to be flexible, powerful, simple to use and a project backbone in a multi-disciplinary, multi-dimensional requirements collection process that has stretched well over 1 year now and now leads us to purchasing. We will continue to rely on TraceCloud during evaluation, negotiation and implementation of our new system to be.

Tracecloud showed a lot of potential in solving the traceability compliance gap with JIRA.

Comments: I had the opportunity to test this tool to evaluate traceability needs with JIRA. I can say that this tool is a great add on to JIRA and it fulfills many traceability and requirements management capabilities which are required by capability maturity models like Automotive SPICE and CMMI. Also, its dynamic report to check whether there are any gaps in any of the traceability between requirements, design, implementation and testing. Although I haven't tried its many use cases including change management, the tool itself is lightweight and entirely web-based and easy to use.

Comments: I find that the method of tracing requirements up and down can be slightly confusing, but once you get your head around it then it makes perfect sense.
I keep getting emails saying that changes have been made that haven't or the folder will say that there are (14) requirements present but when I open it - there will only be (12), this is just an example.

Pros: Ease of Use and Coming up to speed. Cost and scalability.

Overall: We have used it to internally track our organization's projects. Great for systems engineering and for tightly tracking changes, managing traceability and collaborating across the globe.
We haven't used the more advanced features, but good to know that they exist
The UI has been changing (for the better) over the past couple of years.
I recommend this product for others.

Pros: Cloud-based, inexpensive, easily configured.

Cons: The user interface -- would be better with drag and drop, and better tracking of projects.

Overall: I'm using TraceCloud for a variety of projects, and with some configuration, I've used it successfully to describe requirements for a number of embedded networks and embedded software products. Custom attributes can be used to capture such things as whether or not the requirement is a safety requirement or not, what level of safety, etc - very useful feature. I am planning on using a custom attribute to track the completion status of each requirement.
I would like a more modern user interface with drag and drop, and trace links between projects could be improved. It would also be great to be able to write macros so that something like an ASIL rating (from ISO26262) could be generated from Severity, Exposure and Controllability values.

Pros: web based, very few technical issues so far.

Cons: Presentation of the objects forces you to scroll down to see all the fields, also the ergonomics, in general, are sloppy. Also, you cannot link excel sheets to the database and just refresh the data, you have to export and reformat every time you want to convert the data to excel

Overall: I use Tracecloud for a light rail design project and so far we are pleased with the application. The only issue I find is that it appears too complicated at times. The features are great, but it would be helpful if more was included in a dashboard and the actual object view was less cluttered with options. Also, an issue I find with most databases is that they do not provide a spreadsheet view of the data. Many people we work with are familiar working on Excel and prefer a spreadsheet view with adjustable columns, filterable rows, and lines between the cells. This feature would be a huge help to get more of our team using the application.

Comments: I reviewed and evaluated this product for one of my client and found it very easy, simple and adaptable tool so recommended the product to use as requirements management tool for the project. Client urgently needed a tool with traceability features to establish relationship between different requirement types and generate trace tree reports urgently. Tool supports custom requirement types and requirement attributes to meet project needs.

Received very good support from their customer support representative. I interacted multiple times and found them to be very professional, supportive and open to listen any product feedback. I did provided multiple enhancement requests and they were very quick to incorporate some of the requests I suggested. One of the feature we requested was making a comment/reason field available to every trace relationship between any two requirements to document any meaningful comments/reason information about traceability between two requirements. I have used many other tools but have not seen any other tools in the industry that allows such trace attribute features.

I strongly recommend others to at least evaluate the tool and provide feedback to their customer support team as I found them to be willing to enhance product with any new justifiable value added features that can be most commonly used by industry practitioners.

Pros: A dedicated and compact tool, logically structured, relatively easy to use, customizable

Cons: There is not an assembled user manual. One has to learn the tool by example videos and pieces of documentation.

Overall: After a comparison with other dedicated requirements management tools we have selected TraceCloud to support our multi-disciplinary developments. Although it is chiefly a SaaS tool, we have let it install at our premises. The support by the vendor in this process was very adequate, and the same holds for the use of the tool . The TraceCloud interface to the user is intuitive and, as the naming suggests, the way it sets up the requirements hierarchy and facilitates tracing both are very suitable. So our experience is good, and we do recommend this dedicated tool.

Recommendations to other buyers: It is very suitable for project requirements management.

Pros: Very flexible. Allows you to transition from a paper system to a true trace application without leaving your legacy methods behind. We were able to upload our Word and Excel document into tracecloud and create templates that draw the information from tracecloud in a format that is familiar to our users. This allows us to transition the organization in steps which has resulted in a higher acceptance rate.
Also like the ability to do group changes (rather than individual changes to each requirement). This makes updates much easier.

Cons: Some quirks in importing and exporting Word and Excel files. Tracecloud has been responsive in addressing these quirks.

Overall: TraceCloud looks and feels like a product that is early in it development. It has a good core and the customer support is very responsive. The interface is mostly intuitive with a few features in places where you might not expect them. Once found through, they work work as expected.

Recommendations to other buyers: This is good solid application that is evolving to met the needs of its users. It is well worth a look when considering applications for requirements management.

Comments: It's easy to get up and running with Tracecloud - simple to use and extend and with some very versatile advanced features. It allows for setting up and adjusting your own multilevel requirements model, own attributes and custom reports. Importing and exporting requirements is equally simple. We haven't even touched other features like baselining and multi-project traceability yet.

In all we´re productive in our team and focus on results while still keeping control rather than doing tedious administration.

Add to this a flexible licensing model, proactive support and that we have been able to influence the product with enhancement requests and you have a very attractive combination.

Comments: We selected TraceCloud after conducting quite a lot of research and also trailing one other product. We found TraceCloud to match all of our requirements from a product enhancement tracking perspective starting from customer & partner enhancements to the engineering level requirements.

Pros:
1) Flexible software allows you to make customizations to suit your needs
2) Reporting capabilities
3) Received great support from the TraceCloud team (Nathan) starting from sales engagement stage to deployment and ongoing support
4) Flexible pricing that accommodated our needs

Cons:
This is not necessarily about cons but more about new feature requests.
1) Need email integration within the system ( a la Zendesk)
2) Re-use of file attachments for other records

Comments: This TraceCloud tool need a lot of improvement. Below are a few areas need improvement:

1. It is hard to edit the detail description: format is not consistent display correctly with MS word when edit directly in TC or paste from MS documents.
2. Generate report is not always work and display as expected.
3. Need provide the option to integrate automation test tool with test results as Quality Center from HP vendor provided.

The Pro we have very good respond from customer support( Nathan).

In summary, the product need a lot of improvement to keep up with new technology and other tool available in the market place.
