Comments: This is the only software to look at for our industry. Customer service and education is unparalleled.

Pros: Optima is always thinking ahead and developing their product and features with the big picture in mind.

Cons: Lately it seems like there has been slow turn around on fixes and enhancements to existing features.

Pros: the customer support and follow up is very helpful across our organization; plus the updates and webinars

Cons: Upcharge in costs associated with special features and when our company has temporary needs - especially when closing a facility but access is still needed.

Pros: The software is great, and Optima is always looking ahead an planning ahead for future changes. They offer great webinars to help educate staff on upcoming changes in regulations and how they are planning to accommodate those changes in their program.

Cons: Tech support is great if you have a simple question on how something in Optima works. Sometimes it take a while to get a response if the question is about how something is calculated in one of their reports, or where certain items are pulled from.

Pros: It is very user friendly. The software stays up to date on any Medicare changes making it easy to stay in compliance.

Cons: The scheduling features could be improved to allow for copying past schedules in the assignment board.

Comments: Overall, always have been a fan of Optima over any other rehab post acute software.

Pros: I appreciate that Optima Therapy stays up with the latest healthcare changes and offers a solution to needed tracking and/or reporting.

Cons: I do not care for the way Optima introduces enhancements but, then slips in later once you want to activate the service that this would be at an additional cost.

A lot of really good features and a couple glitches.

Comments: very good product overall

Pros: ease of use, integrates fairly well with most of our customers' EMR systems, like the updated forms in our 'new' library (version 2.91, I believe)

Cons: the ADR management tool way too time consuming and clunky to use, would like more autonomy to make minor changes (ie. changing items from mandatory elements (red) to optional (blue) or vice versa) without having to go through the cumbersome change request process.

Comments: Overall, our experience with Optima has been a very positive one! The team at Optima is always pleasant and willingly to assist to address our needs. It's ability to integrate with our partners is an added plus and important feature! Continued enhancements will be needed in the changing market and Optima always provides opportunities to provide feedback and engage in the pilots.

Pros: Excellent adherence to regulatory guidelines with great support from help desk and deployment teams! Good engagement with customer!

Cons: Billing format is difficult to reconcile due to a lot of "add ons". Need enhanced appeals management for better tracking and reporting. System doesn't adequately address the needs for use with multiple business lines for contract companies such as HH and OP.

Comments: Our Company is not thrilled when we get notified of the all day meetings that pull out support staff. We suggest holding 2 meetings and have partial support staff available to take calls on meeting days.

Pros: Once therapist train on Optima Therapy it because very easy especially for therapy assistants. The scheduling portion is fantastic - love the Appointment book. The case management is easy. The projection area is a great asset to Optima Therapy

Cons: The servers drop more than we like. Not sure why the servers drop as often but causes alot of chaos for our staff. Ultimate Rehab has noticed more server issues in the last 6 months. Not sure why? Disappointed with the Ipad functionality. Our Company purchased Ipads for our facilities and Optima Therapy doesn't function well on Ipads any longer. The program freezes or drops when therapist are working on Ipads.

Comments: Rehab Optima has been our go to EMR since we transitioned from paper over 7 years ago. They are great to work with and have great follow up. I get answers quickly and professionally.

Pros: Great customer support and follow up. Great customizations as needed. Continually upgrading software and keeping up to date on changing regulations

Cons: G-codes are not linked to evaluations or progress notes. The daily progress notes could be a little more user friendly by assisting with auto fill and addressing the goals rather than having the separate tab with the goals.

Comments: The Optima team is very good and knowledgeable, especially good at listening to their customers and making changes as needed.

Pros: Always ahead of industry changes, easy to use for end users. There are a lot of customization available.

Cons: Lengthy update/upgrade process, older platform for desktop version with no ability to add things like spell check.

Comments: Faster

Pros: Easy to use and the help hotline is great when I call in they usually answer right away and then help

Cons: Slow sometimes with the optima help and also there should be a basic manual for new employees to use

Comments: In the Mobile version RO5 add reporting feature so Manger can easily monitor and review their facility on their mobile device.

Pros: There are no complaints so far. The software works according to expectations. Rehab Optima is well designed and has a very easy to use interface.

Cons: Documentation need to improve for the productivity requirements. Also customer Support and reporting features needs to improve .

Pros: It is pretty easy to figure out. I am able to enter therapists easily enough. It is easy enough to figure which reports I need for our Accounting department so that is a plus.

Cons: I don't know all of the ins & outs of the program itself but I know enough for what I need it for. The only other con I can think of is if a therapist changes their last name, I have to create a whole new profile for that therapist - that is a waste of time for me. I cannot change the therapist's last name on their current profile. Why is that?

I love Optima. Very easy to navigate.

Pros: Functionality Navigation ease Documentation is easy to use Reports are good and easy to read and explain to others

Cons: NO SPELL CHECK is the biggest down side to rehab optima. Other wise I really like using the system.

Comments: I highly recommend Optima HCS. the administration, functionality and customer service cannot be matched.

Pros: Product is easy to use for the user and administration. software stays current with all industry changes

Cons: 'A la carte' pricing policy. Often hard to 'explain' to accountants. include modules or packages rather than line by line charges per facility

Comments: Appreciate their willingness to listen and make changes.

Pros: Communication with the customers in regards to their changing needs has truly improved and has helped develop new software to adjust to those needs.

Cons: The roll out of new software was slow and chaotic at first. There wasn't enough information given to allow the customer to educate their therapists in the field and the new product wasn't utilized.

Pros: Starting using this EMR at a nursing home I work PRN for approx 3 years ago. The switch at first took some time, but after 2-3 weeks I was more efficient in using it and cut my documenting time down by 1/2.

Pros: The customer service is fairly available to call in, lots of reporting options, integration w/ PCC.

Cons: There is limited free customization offered. The support for initial facility setup was lacking on the front end, especially for financials.

Pros: The software is feature rich, and the Therapists that use it rarely complain, which cannot be said about Clinical software we have, and currently use.

Cons: Again, from an IT (only) Perspective, we find the user account management and menu system a bit confusing. This along with various other spots of the account setup for licenses, salaries, and other features can be a bit confusing. This is a small issue, and I'd much rather this be the issue than the use of the software itself for the Therapists. My last, and biggest, complaint is not getting much heads up on updates. If I were to be out of the office during the 24-48 email window, we'd be down for some time.

Pros: The software is very user friendly, and the support staff is always helpful. My organization is grateful for the ease and convenience the software provides. The management reports are user friendly and provide a great deal of information for marketing.

Cons: The documentation does not include spell check. This is somewhat of a concern due to the increased use of "txt language" Another con, would be the limited amount required for creating documents unique to the patients. Therapists at times can be in such a hurry, and the software doesn't require a great deal uniqueness of patient documentation.... of course it is each therapists responsibility to document for each patient.

Optima therapy is a user friendly software with capability to handle the upgrades well as per the industries needs.

Pros: It has what you need. I'm very used to Casamba though so this will take me some getting used to. I'm sure it will work out ok.

Cons: You just have to know where to look to find what you need, and it's a little spread out. I wish the system came with security clearance already built in. We have to check mark every tiny detail for have a therapists have any sort of access. It's easy to miss something and then not have the access.

Pros: scheduling is easy , I like the projections screen and how it changes when payers change, reports are very easy to use and re run

Cons: cant add evals to schedule , theres no build for complexity code on evals , don't like that daily notes are requiring so much information

Pros: On top of industry standards; many features to ensure compliance, ability to personalize to meet org. needs; customer service is good for the most part

Pros: The quickness of updates/running reports. The ability to look at payroll/billing/documentation without jumping back and forth.

Cons: Not able to support some of our billing requests thus leaving us with having to do manual changes to invoices.

Pros: The appeals management system is a very helpful tool for managing reviews and denials. There are also several reports that are very useful in gathering necessary data.

Cons: At times it is difficult to speak with a customer service representative that knows the correct action to take. If I talk to 3 different people, it is highly likely that I will get 3 different answers.

Comments: Enjoy all of the features and reporting options. Lots of ability to look at things from multiple angles and analyze what we need. I like the ability to individually edit and create rights and roles from an admin standpoint. Reporting useful and good ability to filter for specific data. Tech support often results in quick fixes and assistance. Would like more ability to customize things without huge fees.

Cons: Non Mac/Google interface

Overall: Overall Optima is a very nice program for contract therapy services.

They are constantly working to improve services and integrations.

Unfortunately the software integrates better with some systems better than others and is currently not compatible with Apple Computers (Mac Books)

Documentation and Billing flow relatively smoothly and there is plenty of support to help new organizations get started.

Pros: My reports and use of Ipads to give me point of care services

Cons: Inability to print from my Ipad or navigate projections on my ipad.

Overall: Working with the IT dept in regards to navigating through the administration part of my job is great when they answer phones within seconds and can help resolve issues within minutes.

Recommendations to other buyers: Love the IT dept!
