Pros The saved searches have helped our team see all the information that is needed without having to open multiple records at once. This has improved our inter-departmental communication by giving access to the needing information based on team/role. Cons NetSuite can be a great solution depending on your business. If you need a significant amount of customization you may run into some limitations. Too many customizations makes it difficult to manage system updates. It has all the different reports. We also had the analytic software and it does what it's supposed to do. Pros What I most liked about Netsuite, is that it is a very robust software and it gives you the assurance that you are working in a suffered that has the complete and verifiable information Cons I think it is very expensive, and perhaps there should be threshold, and what type of companies should buy this software, because it is not for every company, company can go bankrupt buying this software if It doesn't have enough contribution margin to pay for it. No one spoke to each other about my issues, and no one resolved any other than offering to charge me more for a new module that would fix everything. Pros I like the promise that it would have good reporting and customization. Cons was extremely dissatisfaction with the service and support provided by NetSuite over the past year. Unfortunately, my experience has been fraught with numerous issues, ultimately leading me to decide not to renew our contract. From the outset, the implementation of NetSuite was handled incorrectly, causing significant disruptions to our business operations. Whenever we encountered an issue, the standard resolution offered was to purchase an additional module, which felt more like a sales strategy than a genuine effort to resolve our problems. Moreover, the pricing structure for essential features such as payroll and profit and loss by jobs was not made clear upfront, leading to unexpected costs that strained our budget. Throughout our time with NetSuite, I found that no one seemed to have the necessary expertise to fix the issues we faced. Despite numerous requests to speak with supervisors, I was consistently told that our problems could be solved by spending more money, which was both frustrating and unacceptable. Compounding these issues was the frequent turnover of our account manager, who changed four times within the year. This lack of continuity meant that no one had a clear understanding of our account history or ongoing issues, resulting in repeated explanations and a general lack of progress in resolving our concerns. It is evident that the primary focus was on receiving payment rather than providing effective solutions and support. This approach has left us with a system that does not meet our needs and has caused considerable disruption to our operations. We can now revise pricing and business strategy with on-demand, insightful reporting. In addition, the accounting team can automate most of the day-to-day tasks, allowing for faster results while tackling other needs of the business. Pros Customization and the ability to integrate with other technologies were the decision drivers. NetSuite can accomplish nearly anything you need it to. You can always google a resolution if you cannot find a solution. Cons NetSuite is more complicated to customize. Making fixes can take a bit of research if you are doing it in-house. It's scalable and extremely customizable, something many ERPs lack. It's fully cloud-based, and has modules for pretty much everything that isn't included in the base application, including multiple e-commerce suites, demand planning, online forms, WMS, HR, the list goes on. Pros Versatile, customizable, versions for a variety of verticals, does pretty much everything Cons UI looks dated and could be more user friendly - it requires training to use in even a basic way, CRM functionalities could use an upgrade Review Source mA merance A. President Retail Used the software for: 2+ years ### "Look out for high price increases at renewals" January 23, 2024 4.0 They are as bad as used car salesmen. Very little after purchase support unless you want to pay big money in support fees. Always trying to upsell you overpriced services you don't need or should be covered by your over priced annual contract. For example, you can report a system bug that is definitely THEIR problem, and the first thing they want to do is charge you money to look at it. System has gotten buggier the last few years after upgrades. Reporting is really bad. For a retail business, they don't even have a standard inventory aging report. You can't do exchanges. If you print barcode labels, you will have to pay extra for an add on app with another company to bulk print labels from receivings etc. Search function for items stinks. You need to use wild cards, the results are hard to narrow down, many fields aren't searchable at all (like vendor MPN) . If you have just a few products and a small amount of inventory it is fine, but if you have a lot of SKU's, it stinks. Pros I like that the software connects to all our systems - amazon/website/ebay. I like having one system for everything - accounting/inventory management. The system is also very forgiving - any mistakes are easily corrected. I love the flexibility of adding fields to items and customizing needs for business. Cons After the initial 3 years with the company where the annual software increases were about 5%, now that we are on year 5, the increase will be 20 to 30% annually hereafter. At this rate, the software will be unaffordable in a few years. Beware of this because it is a big undertaking switching ERP systems and when there is no cap on the fees they can change when you renew, you could find yourself unable to pay for the system and forced to look elsewhere. If you sign up, i would ask for a maximum cap of 5% per year for software increases. Reason for choosing NetSuite The pricing, website connectors and customization aspects were appealing. The display allows users to digest details in an efficient manner, providing the most productivity for its end users. Pros NetSuite has a plethora of pros, from its user friendly interface to it's ability to allow you to centralize all pertinent data in one hub for reference. The system has great dependencies functionality, so when looking for underlying details/support - it's very simple to track down the information you're looking for or needing. It's ability to integrate with our other software systems for the use of calculating commissions is vital to our daily business processes. Cons When looking to reimplement into a new NetSuite instance, or when making a complete system change to NetSuite, it can be quite a rigorous process when ensuring all necessary data is brought over to the new instance before it ceases to exist. This is a fault of many systems similar to NetSuite; however, it still begs many questions when the question of reimplementation/instance reconfiguration comes up during the fiscal year. I like that everything is integrated and the reports are updated in real time and the dashboard indicators have been a great help in decision making. The dashboard reminders are a great help for me to monitor everything that is going on (or not going well) in our organization. For problem solving, it's simpler with NetSuite. The cloud-based solution has saved me a lot of time without having to sustain servers, workstations or computers. Adding users or workstations only requires Internet access. Pros Most of the items we make are combinations of other items we own and it effectively handles them during all phases, using different unit types and updates for stock tracking. The way stock is allocated to these products is very accurate. All components work optimally and there is no need to update any component to get accurate information. It started out as a finance package, so I think that remains the main virtue of the software. Cons A simple POS store option should be feasible to use without purchasing an additional expensive component that is designed for companies with multiple branches. The ordering system could be simplified by adding a "Print or Invoice" button to the order completion screen. Archived searches and customized reports could be useful for those who are not computer or programming savvy. October 21, 2024 1.0 My experience with NetSuite has been a nightmare, to say the least. We were sold on the promise of a fantastic, intuitive system that is completely customizable. What we got was a complicated system that requires a lot of duplication when it comes to assembly items, and poor customer service. You have to pay for every little feature you need. The only thing free is the run-around. Even though we paid for "Advanced Customer Support", I am still left with a list of 15 items that have not been resolved after paying around $10K for the Advanced Customer Support. We are in the process of switching to Odoo because it is FAR more user-friendly and when you pay for Odoo, you get ALL of the features whether you need them or not. Odoo also includes FREE technical support. Why should you have to pay for help with the product you already pay for? Pros An in-depth system able to handle the needs of large companies with multiple locations Cons Overpriced. Poor customer service. It is not user-friendly for customizations. I would highly recommend the Advanced Customer Service (ACS) option as an addition to your contract. This provides a set number of hours with a dedicated professional service team that helps move your business forward using NetSuite. Using ACS allows a smaller to mid-size company to operate without a NetSuite developer. Pros NetSuite provides crucial insight into nearly every aspect of our business. The ability to combine staff data with resource data and connect it to audited financials is unparalleled. NetSuite provides the reporting abilities that allow decisions with clear data points attached. Having everything in one place, all tied to audited financials, provides key metrics and insights. Cons In the end, NetSuite is an accounting system and that sometimes buts up against how users think the system should be set up. However, because everything is tied to financials there is no lingering questions that the data is correct. Reason for choosing NetSuite NetSuite is an accounting systems, however it has the ability to grow beyond that much more than similar sized and priced system. NetSuite was chosen not for the immediate needs of the company, but with the long term vision that it would serve as our end-to-end system and business processes. Review Source VR Verified Reviewer Finance Manager Information Technology and Services Used the software for: 2+ years ### "Oracle NetSuite for Finance Team" March 22, 2024 5.0 Pros I would like to dive straight into the pros as given below: 1- It does allow us to automate almost everything in Netsuite using Scripts and workflow. 2- Easy to set up custom fields based on your tracking requirements. 3- Tax reporting is a lot easier now and if you are in Australia now you can ANZ localization for PTRS reporting. 4- Integrate with most of the systems you for most of the accounting function such as Accounts payable, AR, Fixed Assets, Bank Recs, Bank payment files, Sales and purchase orders and tax authorities. We have moved from another software which is used for small companies but since we have moved to Netsuite we are loving it and will keep on using it now. Cons I don't think there is anything I don't like about Netsuite as it is very user-friendly and does allow you to integrate with almost everything. Cons NetSuite added functionality around the bank reconciliations and revenue recognition that was unnecessary. When you have huge reports, NetSuite exports to outdated versions of Excel and limits reports to 10,000 lines. They also have their contract clause about only being able to have 200,000 monthly transactions. If you exceed this amount, the next Tier upgrade is 2,000,000 and they try to force the customer into upgrading. Office Manager Wholesale Used the software for: 1-2 years ### "Extremely Deceptive Practices - No Accountability" October 7, 2023 4.0 Netsuite is a good product, harder to learn, but they are a very deceptive organization and nobody stays long enough to be accountable when things go wrong. They told us what platform size we fit in and then doubled the price on us after the first year saying we were using too much data. They actually showed us a chart that we were using double the allowed data on month one -- they sold us the wrong level. If they had told us we were in the higher priced category we NEVER would have migrated over. We were stuck with them an additional year to allow us time to integrate to another platform. Buyer Beware! Pros The product is good, no problem with that. They lied to get us to integrate and it cost us thousands upon thousands of dollars and tons of time. Reason for choosing NetSuite We thought they had a good name and we could grow with them. Their staff is constantly turning over. You get passed off to new representatives. When things went wrong, they all just pointed at each other and said I'm new, I wasn't here when that happened. They doubled our cost after one year and a superviser was put on a meeting who stated that we were being a "bad neighbor" by using too much data. We used the amount of data we started with. We sent them our data. They calculated the size wrong and made us pay tons of money to integrate and then said we had to go to the next level after we finally launched with their product. Our annual cost was going to be double. It was a lot to bite off. Then they doubled that price after year one. It took as another year to migrate to another platform.
