Cons Implementation is painful, at best. Customer support is difficult because no one seems to understand the product. Customizing for a community college is difficult, as well. Reason for choosing Ellucian Integration with other Ellucian products. It's great to use codes to view different records. Cons Elluican's Banner 9 feels like it wasn't created with input from working professionals who actually use Banner 9. The navigation is clunky and slow. The interface isn't intuitive. I would never recommend this service to my worst enemy. Don't walk away from Ellucian, RUN! Review Source RS Richard S. August 20, 2018 2.0 Pros I guess the only good thing I can say about this software is that it works (kind of) most of the time. Cons This software is the least user friendly software I have ever used. I understand that databases are boring, but this software (until the last update) looked like it was from 1996. Makes it easy to upload contacts into the CRM and it has a lot of customizable options. Cons It can very unreliable and dealing with support has been time consuming. The layout of the CRM is also unescarailly complex and is very difficult to learn for new users, it can costly to setup training of the CRM tool with our support team as well. Pros This software is one of the most useful software that I have gone though. It helps me a lot in finding scholarship oppartunities. Cons I did not find many cons on this software but if I want to say one this is quite expensive not user-friendly. Application Analyst/Developer Higher Education Used the software for: 2+ years ### "Mixed Reviews" December 14, 2018 4.0 They are an established Higher Education software that is on the cutting edge with a lot of what they offer. The partnerships they offer with vendors seems to fall short in some cases. The support they offer for the products is generally good. But depending on the application may depend on how quickly they respond to support questions/issues. Pros Offers a variety of different software solutions that integrates with its ERP (Banner or Colleague). Along with a variety of ancillary applications that integrate with the ERP. Cons Cost would be by far the biggest issue. The second would be that as of late the company has a tendency to tout its upcoming or just released products will work but in reality it is being built and developed as the sales people speak. We keep a lot of information and this software allows us to do that. Pros This software allows us a great way to keep track of giving history, event information, solicitations and personal information. Also allows us to pull simple and in depth reports. Cons Can be a little cumbersome sometimes when you want to dive deeper. Pulling in depth reports can be confusing with continued training. Review Source RW Ross W. Pros Powerful, a lot of functionality out of the box allows smaller institutions to hit the ground running. With this software our department is able to track students from start to finish. We house the most graduate students in our college and it’s been a hassle to maintain . But this program was able to help us identify what was holding students up (Thesis). After this we made changes to our requirements and also implemented a milestone tracker which has help every single student. Cons I have no cons so far. Everything has been great on my end. It's easily navigable and very functional in every way. I work in Education and Ellucian is really helpful when inputting various forms of information into the system. August 8, 2017 5.0 It is our school ERP. Pros The Colleague Self-Service Faculty view offers rosters, midterm and final grade entry. Our faculty are so impressed with this new functionality they would fight to keep from losing it. Cons Ellucian is difficult to get to respond to issues. I have been working with the Ellucian Cloud testing and it has taken months to accomplish what should have taken days. Review Source IS Iris S. UX Architect Computer Software Used the software for: 6-12 months ### "Can't begin to describe how horrible" November 16, 2019 1.0 The navigation makes absolutely no sense, it's is extremely hard to just register for classes and find your way to the proper information. Absolutely unintuitive and simply extremely ugly. It looks like it's built in the 90ies. Pros Absolutely nothing, besides it just being horribly ugly the UX and Usability is utterly terrible. Cons As professional in tech I decided to enroll in some part time college classes for enrichment and I was appalled at the software system both schools had for students. Both systems for some reason look and navigate completely different but I found out are still made by the same company. Both is so complicated to use (again both totally different though students need to perform the same tasks) and I'm not sure why people (both school but especially the software company) think this acceptable is beyond me. It took a while to learn how to use Colleague but once I learned my area, it was very useful. Cons it's not intuitive. It provides the ability to digitally organize any information we could possibly need. Cons It is not intuitive. It is requires several weeks of use to fully understand it's capability, and if you need to figure out how to do a particular function, it can be almost impossible to figure it out unless there is someone to tell you. Our previous software did not have this capability. Cons It doesn't work as well as ellucian told us it would. The functionality and communication to our CMS does not work well. Pros I love how easy The program allows you to transition within the system. I think they really kept in mind the end users experience when utilizing the ERP system. Cons There’s not much that I did not like about the system, I love the fact that it integrated so many integral parts of the system that allows you to operate within one system to manage multiple areas.
