### "Flexible and widely used IDE"

December 7, 2019

5.0

I use it mainly for mobile app development for Android and sometimes for desktop Java apps.

Pros

Other IDEs for many programming languages are based on this product, somehow it created kind of an IDE standard. Thanks to this, switching between programming languages is fast and easy. Shortcuts, navigation and layouts are great and similar between different projects and technologies which is very important feature for me. IDE itself is powerful and cross-platform, intuitive and efficient.

Cons

Every major IDE update causes loosing previous layout configuration - it is annoying when I need to arrange all tabs and windows from scratch.

### "IntelliJ user review"

August 26, 2022

5.0

Very effective tool and must have for a designers/dev-ops engineers , who write software code on daily basis. Overall a great software for any organisation

Pros

Very good IDE for user to store and work on java based projects . Lot of inbuild tools and functionality which can be used easily by end user. Storing , searching etc made very easy.

Cons

The base UI can be improved and should allow few user based customizations

### "The one and only Tool"

December 5, 2020

5.0

Even the Beta versions usually work flawlessly. The IDE is very stable and powerful. And supports more than I ever will need.

Pros

Support for all languages I currently need: ActionScript3, Javascript, Typescript, PHP, bash, Python One common UI, and as far as possible similar/same settings. And excellent features for a comfortable and fast editing/programming

Cons

The automatic preselection of words/lines is (for me) in most use cases not helpful but leads to errors. Sometimes a token is fully selected, sometimes it is not. Sometimes even a click between characters does not unselect. This often results in deleting a complete line when just a command should have been inserted. This is of course a very personal "feeling", but is an annoying thing.

### "Nothing can be better than Jetbrains IDE"

November 13, 2017

5.0

It helps me resolve git conflicts easily. I can rename a class, function and it automatically refactors it wherever it is being used. Whenever am working with a library, I can easily check out the code since it supports code declaration. The global search functionality also helps me search easily and i can also exclude directories while searching. I use pycharm often and it helps alot with unit test. It is just the best and it is not overrated.

Pros

It has all the functionalities an IDE should have. It also has short video tutorials on how to take advantage of all the functionalities.

Cons

Computers with fewer RAMS can't use it effectively as it makes use of a lot of RAM and slows down systems performance.

### "A Must for App Developers"

April 27, 2022

Pros

The ease of use was the key feature which made me decide to use it, and never stopped since that time :)

Cons

It uses some RAM and CPU resources, but it's still @ the accepted range.

### "Great Software Development Tool"

August 22, 2020

5.0

\* I have been uısing the IntelliJ IDEA for more than 10 years and all I can say after my bad days with Eclipse, I can say that IntelliJ really makes you love of software development.

Pros

\* It is easy and fast to make development with IntelliJ IDEA as a Java Developer \* Its plugins are fast and easy to ease the development \* Software development quality and efficiency is great and fast . If you have questions about IntelliJ, they help you as soon as possible. \* It does not support only Java development. It also supports other language developments as well as Go, Phyton and other scripting languages as well.

Cons

\* It is expensive. If the company does not pay for that software, I do not believe that I will afford to use that software

### "IntelliJ for developers"

December 26, 2018

5.0

Pros

Makes writing code faster and efficient. Faster in opening the tool. Ease of moving around the code while debugging or analysing. Autoscroll from Source is a very handy option even though its a minor thing.

Cons

I can execute DB scripts in IntelliJ instead of using one more tool like DB Visualiser/Squirrel, but I couldn't figure out a way to save these scripts and move them again to other project. Once I switch workspace my old script file is gone and I have to again write new scripts if I need to execute them. Other problem I face is creating jbpm workflows, I feel eclipse is easier in this.

### "My favorite IDE all the time"

February 27, 2023

5.0

I use this everyday for java development and I found this as a worth to use IDE

Pros

The main thing that I love is the debugger. With debugging options, I can easily navigate to the place where issue occurred and I can check the values of the objects by evaluating them. I use the keyboard shortcuts all the time and I honestly love that. Different types of plugins and build tools are available and we can use it. Intellij supports different version control systems like git where we can manage our code remotely.

Cons

IDE gets stuck if there are background processes running in the machine. Price is also expensive but I think we get features for what paid for.

### "Switching to IntelliJ IDEA"

September 3, 2019

4.0

Actually, I was using Eclipse IDE for many years. I started using IntelliJ because my last company forced us to use it. Ever since then, I am using it all the time. because there's no other better option than it yet. You can try it once before you buy it. I am sure you will love it.

Pros

The most visible thing in IntelliJ IDEA is the clean and well managed UI. Beside that, it is lightweight and runs quick. The most significant feature I love in IntelliJ is the debugger which convinced me to use it afterward. The debugger is designed in such way that it is very easy to track errors and fix. It is also easy to configure settings. You do not have to remember all shortcuts. You can just click Find Action in the help menu and write what you want to do, You can view shortcut and click the desired action.

Cons

The most notable con is the expensive price tag. However, If you are in big software companies, they will buy it for you. Another thing is until IntelliJ 2019.1, at times you may experience unexpected behavior like faulty warnings. Currently, I am using IntelliJ IDEA Ultimate 2019.2, it is stable and have not yet found anything adverse.

### "A powerful IDE loaded with features"

December 10, 2019

5.0

The ease of coding and development speed using IntelliJ is something that the competitors cannot stand a chance against. It does not consume too much of RAM, thus performing extremely well and not crashing from time to time.

Pros

It is loaded with features, and there are many other plugins that you can load. There are many keyboard shortcuts to speed up development. It performs extremely well, much better than its competitors.

Cons

It is a commercial IDE and the license is considerably expensive. Its interface is a bit heavy and I found it a little bit difficult to navigate through it, especially in the beginning, so the learning curve is a bit steep.

### "I absolutely love IntelliJ IDEA"

I've created GUIs with Java, wrote some Algorithms and even use Android Studio to make apps.

Pros

It is very easy to find your way around the software because of its feature-rich yet so simple Graphical User Interface.

Cons

It does use up a lot of RAM, which makes it a little slow sometimes but >90% of the time it works at normal speed.

### "IntelliJ Idea as an IDE for Java development"

December 12, 2018

5.0

As a team we use IntelliJ to write our software in Java. It is definitely the best IDE I have used. I used for the community edition and the enterprise version. One suggestion from my side is to go for the community edition first, get your hands dirty and then simply move to the enterprise version. It takes a little bit of getting used to and the community edition is perfect for that.

Pros

Honestly, the best software with support for almost all Java frameworks Works out of the box for Spring, Maven, Gradle Has multiple plugins with support for Docker, Jenkinsfile, yml files, Json files etc.

Cons

Can have a slightly high learning curve. Resource usage is quite high with the IDE.

### "The best IDE on the market!"

July 16, 2019

5.0

I use IDE to program in Java, daily, I initially used the student license, which is good for those who are still in college, and then I started to pay and I do not regret it.

Pros

The jetbrains IDEs are very intuitive, and full of options. I really like to open the database tables next to the code I'm writing. The autocomplete are very accurate; I use IDE for at least 3 years, and I do not have to complain, and over time I discover new facilities.

Cons

Many options and tools, a beginner can get lost, but after learning is very useful!

### "A great IDE all around. State of the art when it comes to Java development."

June 13, 2019

5.0

IntelliJ IDEA is a great IDE and the only con I could find is that it really uses a lot of system resources, it might be hard to run multiple instances on a suboptimal computer. However all of that is easily compensated by the multitude of features it provides. There are options such as automatic generation of properties. Method extraction. All very useful stuff, that does the things you would expect from it with just a few clicks. Definitely saves a lot of time. Not to mention

Pros

Multitude of features like autoformatting, code generation, assisted refactoring.

Cons

The fact that the IDE takes a lot of resource is a big con. That said it is still very much worth it for the features it provides.

### "The most intuitive IDE for Java Developers"

June 6, 2019

5.0

It is best for Java Platform development. it is better than Eclipse or Netbeans because it's being regularly updated by JetBrains. The only consideration is high specs of the hardware, which is nowadays not an expensive issue. I am using it mostly for Maven and Spring MVC projects (JAVA). But it can also have compatibility for all other programming languages and servers.

Pros

IDEA IntelliJ is simpler yet powerful IDE with vast options and features. As this IDE specially designed for back-end development so you will find a lot more functionalities and its intelligence provides ease of development as compare to its competitor software. Also, it's expandable by the huge availability of Plugins. Regardless of other competitor software IDEA, IntelliJ supports all kind of Java-related projects, either Spring, Maven or even Kotlin. In term of Servers also it supports all kind of external servers to run projects. e.g Tom Cat, Apache or even Cloud Servers.

Cons

It requires huge memory to run. So it makes my Laptop Slow and hot deploy feature is not that good, so after every change in the source code, we have to redeploy. but still, there are some external libraries available for this but not works always.

### "Best user friendly IDE that I used, Specially for Java"

August 27, 2020

5.0

Overall I am very satisfied with the features of IDEA and It is hard to leave from the Software because of all the features. It seems the best general-purpose IDE that I used ever until now.

Pros

For Java developers most of the functionalities inbuild with IntelliJ IDEA, such as Maven & Gradle integration. Even community version support Java than lots of other ideas. Also, integrated tools such as version control tools, Database management tools allow users to do all the necessary development related things without leaving the IDE. It also provides a great platform for Spring Boot developers by integrating several specific tools. With some plugins, It can be used as a general-purpose IDE without any issue.

Cons

I mostly concern the price of the IntelliJ IDEA when it comes to cons. It may be the most expensive IDE that I used. Another thing is it takes more system resources than other IDE's. (It may be caused because of that it have lots of tools integrated together and the IDE is running on Java platform)

### "My favorite IDE for coding"

July 31, 2019

5.0

I have really easily transferred from the previous IDE to Intellij

Pros

I’ve tried a lot of IDEs over the years and there were a couple of good ones. But I have to say that my current favourite is Intellij. First of all, it is easy to navigate and use, the UI is rich but intuitive. Intellij supports a lot of different plugins and frameworks so pretty much everything is covered. I myself work on Java Spring, something that is really very well supported in Intellij. I like the design and code completion which I find really good. I have no wish to get back to other IDEs after Intellij

Cons

I've found no cons with this software, it is a real pleasure using it.

### "Best IDE for JAVA."

November 26, 2020

5.0

It's the best software for everyone who loves to code and doesn't wanna waste time on irrelevant stuff like reminding imports or like that. I have been using this software so along in MacBook and it's wonderful experience and will suggest this software for development purpose.

Pros

Intelli J is an amazing IDE for Developers beat its UI, interactiveness, and a lot of good features. 1. Shortcuts and autocomplete code helps and save time also. 2. File hopping is quite easier and TODO allows to track all action items. 3. MAVEN features can be accessed separately with a complete lifecycle. 4. At last Key Promopter feature is the amazing one which allows to let us know if something gets wrongly clicked.

Cons

There are no cons in Intelli J, it's perfect software.

### "Fully featured IDE for Java"

April 5, 2019

5.0

Overall, the features of this IDE cannot be beat with any other Java IDE, say goodbye to Atom, Eclipse, Netbeans, and WSAD.

Pros

If you do any kind of Java development, it would make your life so much better if you used IntelliJ IDEA to code on. The keyboard shortcuts navigation is quite possibly the best feature of IntelliJ IDEA! It allows you to easily navigate between files without having to take your hands off of the keyboard.

Cons

If it would be anything, it's the fact that this software is not free; although I would have to say that the features by itself offsets the costs in licensing this software.

### "Review for IntelliJ IDEA"

May 11, 2019

5.0

Pros

IntelliJ is really an awesome intelligent IDE which is used by me to develop JAVA,PYTHON application. It's vey much user friendly in suggestions and handy in developing software. It is integrated with other language development tools like SQL client, maven/gradle/ant scripting support. The main feature i love in it is it's Debugger tool which save a lot of time for developers in finding bugs and dig deeper in to it.

Cons

It is too much Resource consuming when running multiple processes when compared with ECLIPSE. and also it Pricing is much expensive in my perspective.

### "A professional and stable tool for Java-based development"

September 6, 2019

5.0

For 3 years, it has been my day-to-day tool for development - my job is mostly focused on software enginnering using the Java platform. IntelliJ helps me improve my coding speed and correctness compared to other IDEs or simpler code editors. Also it helps me automate many processes with can get tedious easily if done manually.

Pros

I think IntelliJ supports all of the features you may expect from a professional Java IDE. It is a super stable tool that helps you boost your productivity. On top of that it also has support for a variety of extra languages via plugins, so it's not just about Java.

Cons

I tend to dislike big IDEs since they simply have too much things stuffed in them: one hardly uses 10% of that. Also they add complexity and computing overhead, however with IntelliJ I've found a good balance of simplicity and resources consumption not found elsewhere. I only dislike the startup time - it's high. If they could offer its capabilities layered (eg. minimal, standard, pro, advanced, etc.), that would be great.

### "Nothing comes close"

October 4, 2018

5.0

Learning Full Stack web development would have been astronomically harder had it not been for this product.

Pros

Not even Visual Studio can rival all the fantastic features of this product It's not memory intensive and I've never had it crash on me. Customization options are numerous and the search feature for them is super handy. It's ability to parse dynamic JavaScript including any library you can install and throw at it makes it the best IDE for modern web development

Cons

Not much to be honest, the latest version had some bugs but I just rolled back to the previous and it was all good.
