Even though there are things I do not like about it, there are no alternatives that have similar functionality. The only other IDE which is close to Intellij is Visual Studio, which I used for C# development. Pros the user interface is good. It has a lot of features that make life easier for debugging java code. I like the dark mode theme provided by this software. IntelliJ IDE can import java projects cleanly without many issues. Cons It consumes a lot of CPU and memory. I close all other applications running on my MacBook when I run this software. And one point is that it is a paid software so if you do not want to spend any money then you have to go for a free alternative like eclipse. It's everything and the kitchen sink factory! They simply include anything you can think of and I commonly find myself saying "I wonder if it ca... OH! It can!". I was able to downsize from a large number of apps to one, and I highly recommend using the trial to find out why it is well worth the price tag. It is software I was extremely hesitant in buying.
