I find it's one of if not the better Java IDE around, easy to use, and covers everything needed. Pros Ease of use, extensive list of plugins (will likely cover everything you need), supports other languages besides Java, community support is great when needed. Cons The only real con I have is system resource use. Few of my friends complain about tfs integration with intellij. But I never had any issues with it. While Eclipse works for most programming projects it can be a bit complicated to integrate with other services such as Github and Jenkins. IntelliJ has made these integrations easy and the autocomplete has saved me so much time when writing small code snippets. Pros Great autocomplete features above and beyond anything I've ever used before. Works seamlessly with Github Large number of plug ins available making this IDE ideal for most projects Cons Can be a bit complicated when first learning to use the software given all of the features it includes. February 6, 2018 5.0 Pros It is, hands down, the most sophisticated IDE for Java development, packed with incredible features which aid refactoring. A very elegant feature I discovered recently is the structural search, which allows you to parameterize searches. Indexing a large project was always troublesome in other IDE's such as Eclipse, causing it to crash regularly, but I never ran into trouble with IntelliJ. Pros It has all the functionality that you need in an IDE. I mainly needed the Git and SVN functionality and they functioned seamlessly with our company's own SVN. Cons It is a huge program since it has all of those aforementioned functionality. This makes it hard to close and reopen because it takes a while to load compared to something like Sublime. Very useful for finding issues and easy to fix. 4. Very helpful to write test cases and increase code coverage. 5. Inbuilt terminal 6. Plugins are really easy to install and use. Cons 1\. All the features makes you forget any other IDE (for me it was Eclipse). I have installed the PyCharm to work with Python as well as CLion for C++. All the products by Jet Brains are marvellous engineered products. Pros The way everything has been integrated and how smooth most plugins are. And the software for Mac is very fast. My fav feature with this while working on Kotlin is the way they provide auto complete. It autocompletes the industry standard variable name. I love the terminal provided by IntelliJ IDEA. I used to hate them in the Eclipse for some reason I still am not able to contemplate. Duplicate code detection is another powerful feature and very helpful for me. Cons Nothing as of now. Pros JetBrains IDEs always stand out with their wide range of features out of the box, and incredible coding hints and suggestions when you've done something wrong. Cons JetBrains IDEs are quite resource intensive, and can sometimes be a little slow, especially when working on large projects. Switched from [Visual Studio Code](https://www.capterra.com/p/186634/Visual-Studio-Code/) IntelliJ IDEA offered many more features and deeper language integration.
