Programming has never been so easy. Pros Using intelliJ IDEA for advance java and maven projects is a great tool. I have used other spring suite and tools and all are great. From profession point of view it provides more features. It's price is worthwhile. Cons It's price a point that can be improved, although, The cost is worthwhile. It's easy to install, use and deploy. It's been a great help for getting students to experience working outside of the sandbox that some "learning" tools can provide. Pros The biggest advantage I get from any IDE is the ability to navigate the code and intelligently tie together libraries, tools and even my own work. IntelliJ does this better than the competitors, and really helps me save time when I'm building new software. Cons At first, I found the interface very busy: there are almost too many options. It ease up the writing of the code! Pros IDEA is a complete IDE. It doesn't only cover Java, but pretty much any language with proper plugin. Ho did I mention plugin! This IDE is full of them. Cons Licences for IDEA are a bit expensive. Yes you get a super IDE. But still, the price is a bit too much. Not any similar tool can do all that in a single software. Pros The power of this IDE is the ability to do all in one. We can work on almost any language with natively a lot of tools. We can even work with Docker, directly edit a database, seamlessly use Git and many other things. Of course, if something is missing, there is hundreds plugins. Cons The performances can be improved. Work on many projects at the same time is difficult. There is also a big issue with WSL2 (the default Docker system today), because it can't watch folders, so the indexing system is often stuck. It has inbuilt tomcat server. Cons apart from being rich in terms of functionality and features, It is a very heavy software. Pros Navigation: One of the most important things while writing software is navigating between functions, classes. variables and files. IntelliJ does a great job in providing shortcuts for all these kind of navigations. Double pressing shift brings up a box which can used to search any coding object. Code Correction: This is one of my favorite features of IntelliJ. IntelliJ suggests optimised code for loops, if conditions and so on., Cons This software is heavy and requires a lot of CPU.
