It does absolutely wonderful job for JAVA development. Also, it performs good in case of other language like python, c, c++ etc. It's features like autocompletion, code generation are just amazing. But even when not using Java directly, I use its packages like Apache all the time, also in Python and SQL, and IntelliJ IDEA provides a wonderful experience with it. Pros Intelligent, comprehensive framework, gives very good prompt and suggestions. Easy not only write, but also to debug Java code. Pros I think that this IDE is great because it has a good autocomplete engine, since it will make things easier for you, its interface is very elective and easy to use, it has excellent options and it is ideal for the JAVA and ANDROID program. Cons It is available in two versions, one free and one premium, the free version lacks many features to support other types of language other than JAVA, I think the free version should be a bit more complete. Enjoyed using it, fun to code with. Pros IntelliJ was easy to use and user-friendly for my computer science classes' projects. We downloaded the test files easily and had no issues with adapting them. Cons There are some weird UX quirks, like odd keyboard shortcuts for basic things. The instructors seem to favor it since the styling and code design can be preset to a particular format in IDEA. Pros The auto-code completion would be the thing proving to be highly helpful. Also, availability of different themes, plugins and easy test automation were the distinguishable features. Cons The size of caches eventually grows up to be in GigaBytes, which is stored in the boot drive. This causes a lot of space issues if the disk space is limited. Review Source
