Pros: ERP cloud based, very complete software, it is a lot more cheaper than the oracle solution, you can access the software from any device even from cell phones. you can use it for all your company from sales to shipping all the cicle, you can evan control your manufacturing , purchase orders, inventory, etc. one of the best and completes ERP on the market

Cons: even it is cheaper than oracle enterprise it is still a lot expensive for small companies , even the price for every user is not that expensive but the implementation cost is very very high

Pros: There are a lot of features. we use the software in a number of departments and each have found their way to make it work.

Cons: any time we have an issue with behavior, we end up having to come up with some kind of workaround instead of it actually being fixed by the developer. so, the lots of features mentioned as a positive above will continue to diminish (i expect) until it really is of no use to us. a bit melodramatic, i admit, but quite frustrated. On training day, something didn't work, so it got postponed, never to happen. we've had to mostly just figure it out.

everything is a workaround, nothing is a direct solution

Cons: where do i start. we sell both small and large (crates up to 6 feet tall) merchandise. I was brought in because the Netsuite admin who was contracting with the company was spending more time asking questions to his boss then actually fixing issues. shipping is limited to one method, other methods cost extra. the terms and vocabulary in the ERP OS are vague and undefined. when you build a report simple actions and column names are either not there or presented as something completely different. some changes take a long time to update and in the mean time makes your system seem broken. there are file name standards that are not mentioned on the outset that if not followed exactly break all picture links. terrible terrible terrible. run away!

Pros: Billing is simple and straight-forward. The ability to change templates and add technicians is great! Overall I would recommend this for invoicing and other accounting needs.

Cons: The inability to add more than one email address into the default email is definitely a con. You can add it into the message box but does not make it convenient.

Comments: Netsuite as a business are untrustworthy

Pros: Started using netsuite in our business in 2009. Before engaging I got an agreement from netsuite to limit ongoing annual increases.

Cons: Netsuite broke the agreement mentioned above. Six years later the renewal is more than double what we started paying. Netsuite as a business are untrustworthy and I'm looking for a way out.

Comments: It was my first time purchasing a cloud-based software that required so much customization. Creating a tailor-made software for our business is great, but paying for the monthly service from day one of our contract was a huge oversite and was not aware when signing our contract. We have used up 6 months of our first-year license without even entering our first quote or entering any customer records! Buyer Beware and negotiate the contract start date up front to begin the configurations session and go live are completed! The sales team and account reps are ruthless and will suck your business dry!

Pros: Custom built software

Cons: Sales team are suckers and overcharge you

Recommendations to other buyers: negotiate the start date to after your go live

Comments: I wish this was a different review but hopefully this helps the people who are looking to evaluate Netsuite. I will try my best to give you the most accurate idea. 1. The Sales calls (as expected) were very shiny and cherry! 2. They made promises of things it could do but did not state the caveats clearly. 3. They got a lot of people on the calls to make them look solid 4. The implementation seemed smooth and they gave basic training 5. After that we were just left in the dark. 6. Things took too many steps to update and the sales rep had disappeared. 7. Users were not very happy using it

Pros: Its cloud based and web based - can be accessed from anywhere!

Cons: Implementation UI Cost Overhead Frustration

Recommendations to other buyers: Honestly guys, hope you find something better.

Comments: Netsuite has a lot of room for improvement but currently a leader in its space. The part that works well for us (thanks to our Salesforce Hero) is that it can update Salesforce back and push data from Salesforce too. The tool is not very intuitive and does take lots of steps to get things done. Our team overall doesnt feel very comfortable using this tool and hope they can make some good improvements.

Pros: Pricing Integration

Cons: Clunky Multiple steps to make updates Slow Not intutive

Comments: We implemented NetSuite Financials, Manufacturing and Service at seven companies this year. Having used SAP, Oracle, PeopleSoft, JD Edwards and other accounting and ERP software in the past, I can confidently say that NetSuite is by far the easiest to use and easiest to report out of. The controls and features and functionality NetSuite offers are outstanding for this fully cloud-based solution.

Pros: Ease of use, reliability, cloud-based, minimal IT staff required, rich features and functionality, solid controls, responsiveness of NetSuite professionals, additional software that can be integrated.

Cons: With power and control comes complexity at times: controls are achieved by approximately 4,000 "permissions". These can be a challenge for new users to configure properly.

Recommendations to other buyers: Look at NetSuite and engage an experienced implementation partner. We used FMT Consultants out of San Diego who were excellent!

Comments: Overall great product. Totally scalable and fairly intuitive.

Pros: Between Netsuite and the products that it interacts with you can do almost anything. Extremely flexible, great customization opportunities.

Cons: Problems with Actian connector to Salesforce

Recommendations to other buyers: Use local companies to implement product. Remote implementation is too hands off and leads to a slower migration from your existing software.

Comments: This software is the best cloud software I've seen or used. Years of thought have basically resolved 95% of processes all companies use. This software has the ability to eliminate your need for any other software.

Pros: Cloud based, includes accounting, HR, CMMS, payroll and all other processes used for different software. Uncomparably cheaper to bigger software companies like SAP and Oracle but has all their features plus more.

Cons: In depth CMMS software would need to be integrated with netsuite, not in basic purchase.

Recommendations to other buyers: Cancel your HR, accounting and payroll software and get netsuite.

Comments: Overall, my experience with NetSuite has been positive -- the interface is very user-friendly and the ability to basically drill through into anything is incredibly helpful helpful. In the past I had used Oracle Financials, which was a black box by comparison -- very difficult to navigate, few drill-through capabilities, and un-intuitive UI. In NetSuite, it's easy to get going and quickly gain an understanding of a new GL at a new job-- you can always get to the next level of detail. The reporting, while not perfect, is also an improvement over Oracle. With some basic understanding of the interface, you can drag and drop as needed to create reports and data exports (Saved Searches). The biggest challenge with these is knowing field names and how objects are connected-- these things are not always intuitive and it can take some time and trial and error to get what you need. The one issue with the software is that it appears to be intermittently buggy-- it has gotten better in the 3 years I've been using it, but in my time using it, I've had issues with changes not saving (which have mostly been fixed over time). More recently, I've been working for a company that requires daily time tracking, and it's not an uncommon problem for myself and others to have submitted time either disappear or get "stuck in limbo" where we can see it but the approver can't. This doesn't exactly sit well, as it makes you wonder what else in you GL might not be as secure or lock-tight as you would want. I'll also say that I have no idea how this works in a bigger organization-- both places I've used it have been 50-100 employees and no foreign entities. It does work great for this size of company, though.

Pros: Great UI, Intuitive reports and searches, great data/transaction/object transparency, easy to access anything and move around in the system

Cons: Lots of fields with similar names, no way to see underlying data map, some modules are not always as tight as you would like them to be with data saving and transmission

Recommendations to other buyers: Very user-friendly, good for at least SMB market. Better than many other solutions - would recommend!

Pros: Easy to implement without heavy IT or System Admin. Consistently pusing out new features particularly around software revenue recognition, international consolidations, fx etc...

Cons: When building custom reports or researches it's difficult to identify the field name from the systems backend name. Trial and error / time consuming

Pros: Everything you need is in one package & you can turn features on and off depending on the nature of your business. We've found that as our business changes, teams will have requests for additional fields, searches, etc - I can add it all in myself in very little time. And I'm not a programmer! Support team is wonderful - 24 hours/day with very quick response. When I had problems changing the map over too Baidu maps, they worked with me and sent me new code to implement and filed it as an enhancement request. Online help articles usually solve my questions.

Cons: People who grew up on Macs want more graphic interfaces like Pipedrive (for sales lead management) - they think the interface is too database-driven

Recommendations to other buyers: once you narrow your list of softwares you're considering, the next most important is your implementation partner. Do they understand your business? Do they take the time to understand your internal acronyms, etc? How responsive are they? Are they willing to teach, or do they do everything so it remains a black box to you?

Pros: We love NetSuite for its flexibility, both in terms of the amount of customization you can put into it, and because of the semi-annual automatic updates which add functionality for all users. This is a modern ERP.

Cons: Some of user interface is can be a bit complex, mainly because there are so many different ways to navigate to the same areas. But at the same time, if needed the interface can be customized to remove or hide unnecessary links and fields.

Recommendations to other buyers: NetSuite is on the pricier side, but in our experience we are probably saving money in the long term through automation, and through upgrade savings (as mentioned earlier, NetSuite pushes semi-annual updates to all users that add new functionality). This is in contrast to other ERPs where you often have to pay to upgrade, and then pay a consultant to come in and do complex setup.

Pros: Accessibility and intuitive use. You can easily log in from any part of the world and access your account. There are links that exist between part of transaction (quote, SO, PO) that lets easily navigate through the workload

Cons: Inability to apply changes for all line items together (i.e 100 lines that need to have a specific uplift on quote for example) Now you have to go in and change each line individually vs. apply changes to all lines. It would be great to have the feature available.

Pros: I like how Netsuite can easily organize all of the quotes and Sales orders that I deal with on a regular basis. The newest upgrade has also made things easier by not requiring a practice field for memos.

Cons: Sometimes the numbers do not round properly. Pennies go missing and are no where to be found. On top of this it seems that more fields need to be filled out which takes more time. Have not figured out how to use the import function yet, just because there has only been one opportunity to use it.

Recommendations to other buyers: When demonstrating in a class room, take an order from A-Z, do not show examples of changes. We need to see the whole process, and where the changes are going to take place.

Pros: A cloud-based ERP system like NetSuite is a great choice for most small to medium-sized companies looking for data security, system reliability, robust feature set, perpetual upgrades and lifetime cost. NetSuite blends a wide sweep of core functionality with long and growing list of 3rd-party integrations to specialized service providers. Built-in twice annual upgrades and 99.999% uptime is better than you could ever achieve on your own and does not require any technical overhead to install or maintain.

Cons: NetSuite is not cheap. You really have to value the lifetime cost of making the investment in a fully-integrated system. Historically, the feature "roadmap" has been a year or two ahead of the product reality. You should be prepared to make compromises in specific functionality or invest in customization. Support used to be more of an issue but has shown definite signs of improvement over the last couple of years.

Recommendations to other buyers: Thoroughly probe your specific business model use cases. The NetSuite sales team is typically "out over their ski tips" regarding what the product can actually do today versus where the product is going. No system fits every business perfectly. In most cases, you have to compare "best-of-breed" applications with "connectors" versus a fully-integrated system like NetSuite. For us, the integration is a key value-add. If you are realistic about expectations and well-informed about the current version of the product, it should definitely be in your consideration set.

Pros: Holistic solution for the company, all in one place. No maintenance of soft and hardware, just concentrate in the business. Easy customizable.

Cons: Price is some high. Just full license: pay all or nothing. Think would be better some users that go only for certain areas, could pay for those and not rest.

Recommendations to other buyers: NetSuite can do everything we need. Very flexible and customizable without touching the core. Dedicate some time to understand how it works and there is easy and customizable solutions for all kind of process. Try the solution for free and really dedicate this time hard to surf in it.

Pros: Netsuite is basically SAP for the small guy. Setting up takes some work but in a minimum amount of time we had a complete view of our business and customers. Major companies that I work with are always surprised by the data and reports I can easily get off the system.

Cons: Upgrades can sometime interfere with customization's we have done. Overall the support is good but it is off shore. More recently they have limited the amount of people the will support which was never discuss when we bought into the system. So changing rules seems to be an issue.

Recommendations to other buyers: I looked at the cost of IT and replaced them with this software, I looked for a closed loop system with CRM and ERP.

Pros: The product is cloud-based, so it can be accessed from anywhere. The website feature is easy to use to place items for sale, and interfaces seamlessly to our website URL.

Cons: For lists, individuals and companies are assigned as vendors, customers or contacts, and cannot be both or all, so multiple accounts need to be set up for customers who are also vendors. The report functions are very useful, but difficult to set up correctly.

Recommendations to other buyers: Before selecting NetSuite, investigate the various pricing tiers for support and number of users.

Pros: It was easy to implement and vendor provided good consultants and support through all phases of implementation from scope to post live.

Cons: Customizing reports can be challenging with all transaction and account field included in the standard report, you need to know the exact field name and where it is located. We went live 2 weeks back, so I am sure this will not be the issue after couple of months.

Recommendations to other buyers: Analyze your current system and make a list of all processes that you would like to improve on. Ask vendors to show how they can handle your current challenges.

Pros: As an ERP, it integrates more of our business processes vs the standard CRM, so our sales team is able to see real time inventory and availability of our parts. Additionally, the integration into UPS helps us track packages and communicate shipping information.

Cons: The support, report usability, and customer service. They sell support packages with the initial package and are unwilling to help with basic issues. The knowledge base is very general, and if you send in an email ticket, you generally receive a link to the general knowledge base articles.

Recommendations to other buyers: Determine the importance of support and customization for your business prior to committing to a multi-year contract. Once they implement it, all additional support will be costly/time consuming, unless you pay a premium.

Pros: The thing I like most about NetSuite is the versatility and customizability of the product. If we need to flag specific transactions for internal and unique reasons, we are able to add a checkbox to any transaction that the user can check, which will flag an alert. It is truly helpful to be able to customize the forms within the system. Another thing that we like about this is that it is internet-based. We are not required to maintain servers and software. We have employees in multiple locations including some working from their homes. It is nice that all they need to work on the system is internet access! The product is constantly being improved upon. We like that NetSuite continues to grow as their customers' needs grow.

Cons: In the beginning, eight years ago, the support and service on this product were horrible. Since then, I have seen great improvements in support, including reduced hold times and an increased knowledge of the product. The other thing that I have noticed is that the sales team tends to oversell the features. NetSuite's program in and of itself is an amazing program. There is no need for any embellishment, but, on numerous occasions, I have experienced being sold on features that were not available when I tried to use them. One of the things that can be seen as either good or bad is that there are some gaps in functionality (e.g., forecasting, shipping integration with outside vendors). However, there are a growing number of outside vendors that will integrate your NetSuite with outside vendors to fill the gaps. The customization of NetSuite is endless, although these outside vendors do charge a good fee for their work.

Recommendations to other buyers: Be wary of sales pitches. I recommend having the sales person show you specific features that may be deal killers for you before you purchase any software.

Pros: The fact that it is cloud-based is a huge deal. It saves me from maintaining a server and, at least, a part time employee. Also, I will never have to migrate to another system. It is infinitely scaleable.

Cons: The cost! I'm not saying it isn't worth it, but for a small business getting into an ERP, it is challenging to pay for the SaaS and the fees required of qualified Netsuite partners.

Recommendations to other buyers: Much of the cost of getting in is the implementation. You might want to look for other vendors to do the implementation.

Pros: It's cloud-based with deep functionality. It's quick to load and responsive. I also like that it works well with dual monitors, and there is a lot of permissions functionality. Also, I like that it is very scalable from few to many users.

Pros: The financial capabilities are easy to navigate and understand, even if learning from scratch. It's very easy to understand the financial statements. Transferring money (journals) from accounts is a non-event.

Recommendations to other buyers: Understand exactly what your company is looking for in a CRM. Make a list of those activities. If 25/30 can be made by a software product, you should choose that software.

Pros: You can delete almost anything to correct errors; it handles both the accounting and inventory side of the business, so no software integration is necessary.

Cons: They farm out technical support to foreign countries. Additionally, their help section doesn't stay up to date with revisions in their system. It can make things difficult.

Recommendations to other buyers: Software integration always causes problems down the road, particularly with any upgrades. NetSuite upgrades their system once or twice a year. If you integrate other software with it, the potential for issues or complications exist.

Pros: The main advantage of NetSuite for our company is that it is cloud-based but not a pared-down version of an ERP system. It has many built-in approval processes and also allows us to customize workflows. It has built-in multi-currency functionality as well, allowing us to easily do business globally and paperlessly. This has saved us time and money in managing multi-currency transactions in the accounting department. We attach all of our transaction's supporting documents to the transaction records in NetSuite and then give access to our external auditors each quarter for their reviews. This has essentially eliminated the need for them to come and work at our office for weeks at a time each quarter, resulting in a cost savings both in their fees as well as time spent internally.

Cons: The part I least like is that the license is by specific individuals. We have some individuals that may need access just a couple of times a month, but we still have to procure a full license for them.

Recommendations to other buyers: I would recommend first determining what problems you are trying to solve for your business and then asking Netsuite to demo exactly how the system can solve your problems.

Pros: It has complete integration and is cloud-based; what more can I say? The software works great (most of the time). The level of detail we need to manage our manufacturing, sales, and e-commerce business is there at a click away.

Cons: Tech support. We gave up using NetSuite's tech support and now use a third party.

Recommendations to other buyers: Take the time and implement correctly. Look to a third party for help. We use Horizon Associates. They are great.

Pros: It is versatile if you have the support and know how to script and customize software.

Cons: It has been really hard to figure out the functions and how they relate to our business needs. We have had poor support with the local NetSuite facilitating company. While we have made strides in the integration, it has taken years to do so, and we are a small company. The app is something awful. I don't know what else to say other than it has been so bad to work with that we stopped trying.

Recommendations to other buyers: Make sure that the local support company who installs and trains is top notch. If you don't have that, you are in for a long and hard learning curve.

Pros: There are heaps of features and flexibility. You buy it as out-of-the-box and then customize it to fit your needs.

Cons: It is quite expensive for small businesses like us. It also takes at least one dedicated person for the several months of configuration (we also worked with the NetSuite Configuration Team). That person will become the NetSuite guru in the company, and it takes a lot of training to get a new person to that level.

Recommendations to other buyers: Be very specific with your business needs. Know where you are going and what you will want from your software system to get you there. Then review each of the NetSuite modules to figure out which ones you need. The NetSuite configuration team is very helpful, and we couldn't have done it without them, but remember you must have at least one dedicated person full-time at your company until at least a month after go-live working on NetSuite. This can be very expensive and a large commitment if you are a small company. I do not recommend trying to purchase NetSuite without having their help during configuration. That would have been a nightmare for us.

Pros: This is an all around software system for global businesses and international capability. Because they are such a massive company, they are make a lot of companies go live everyday. Their staff has the knowledge of so many companies that they are able to give advice about standard practices. So while it is software, it also reviews all processes of the company to normalize them.

Cons: The cost is high. I don't really have very much negative to say about this company. They have worked really well for us, as well as many of my friends that own companies.

Recommendations to other buyers: Make sure that you have a full idea of the cost for the implementation of this software. It takes at least 2 - 3 people inside the company at least a year to fully implement the software. On top of that, you have all of the hard cost of the software. Once it is implemented, you have amazing software, complete review and standardization of company systems and policies, and a software platform for company growth.

Pros: NetSuite combines the ease of use of QuickBooks with some of the power of the large scale ERP systems. The staff accountants had no problem picking up their daily duties after we implemented NetSuite, but some of the advanced features, such as the CSV imports, have made everyone's lives easier. Also, their online help is easy to navigate and has extensive content.

Cons: Since there are so many features available that we don't use, they can sometimes be confusing to the user. It's possible to hide those options, but customizing the system takes some time.

Recommendations to other buyers: It's helpful to consider the automated processes available in NetSuite and if they could be applied to some of the functions you perform in your current system. We save a lot of time with out-of-the-box imports, and we're also taking advantage of custom scripts to do other time consuming tasks.

Pros: I like the reporting, as well as the FX translation and consolidation. Pretty much anything is upload-able, even payment application for payables. You can email out AR invoices in batches, and the AR collection statements are really clear and easy to read. The system also accepts API connections, so we plan to create connections in the future with our other programs.

Cons: We can't email out AR invoices to multiple email addresses without paying more for a personalized script to be written, as this is not out-of-the-box functionality.

Recommendations to other buyers: Ensure you get a thorough demo of all your key areas required.

Comments: Two and a half years ago, we used a custom eCommerce website patched together with Quickbooks and several APIs for shipping, CRM and credit card processing. That system, which required significant webmaster expenses and took 15 minutes to process a sale order, worked fine for our high-dollar, low-volume transactions. But when we decided to expand our business to include low-dollar, high-volume transactions, we needed a more powerful, integrated system that would provide: 1. faster processing time 2. integrated CRM 3. mass marketing capabilities 4. customer support 5. a hosted, role-based solution. NetSuite has provided all of these benefits - incredibly - at a cost savings! Implementation took 5 months - it was super intense - but with heavy assistance from NetSuite and fantastic customization work from SuiteCommerce, we launched on time and on budget, and we haven't looked back. NetSuite requires commitment and because it's so powerful, it's complicated. But with the appropriate commitment, there's not much else that can provide the benefits and advantages of NetSuite's integrated system. We couldn't be happier with NetSuite.
